Abstract
Un aparato y método para carbonilar un reactivo, que incluye secuestrar un metal catalizador del Grupo VIII de una corriente de proceso que generalmente posee una concentración de ppb del metal catalizador. La corriente del proceso se trata con un polímero que posee unidades de repetición heterocíclicas que contienen nitrógeno a los efectos de secuestrar el catalizador de la corriente, para permitir de ese modo recuperar el catalizador valioso y regresarlo a la mezcla de reacción. Un aparato provee un lecho de resina corriente abajo de la columna de extremos livianos en un proceso de carbonilación. Preferentemente, la resina gastada se regenera con una composición regenerativa compatible con la mezcla de reacción de carbonilación de manera que el metal del catalizador se pueda reciclar directamente y la resina se pueda reutilizar. Reivindicación 1: Un proceso de carbonilación que comprende: (a) carbonilar un reactivo en presencia de un catalizador de metal del Grupo VIII y un componente promotor de haluro de alquilo para formar una mezcla de reacción de producto carbonilado en un reactor; (b) separar la corriente de la mezcla de reacción del producto carbonilado en por lo menos una primera corriente de reciclado líquida y una corriente de proceso cruda; (c) alimentar la corriente cruda del proceso en una columna de extremos livianos; (d) destilar la corriente cruda del proceso para retirar los componentes de baja ebullición y generar una corriente de proceso purificada y, opcionalmente, una segunda corriente de reciclado líquida; en donde los pasos (a), (b), (c) y (d) se controlan de manera tal que la corriente de proceso purificada posee un contenido de metal del Grupo VIII inferior a 100 ppb en peso; y (e) tratar la corriente purificada del proceso que posee un contenido de metal del Grupo VIII inferior a 100 ppb en peso con un polímero que comprende unidades repetidoras heterocíclicas que contienen nitrógeno, operativas para secuestrar en el polímero el metal catalizador del Grupo VIII presente en la corriente purificada del proceso. Reivindicación 25: Un aparato para producir un producto carbonilado purificado y secuestrar el metal de catalizador arrastrado, y dicho aparato comprende; (a) un reactor para carbonilar un reactivo en una mezcla de reacción en presencia de un componente catalizador de metal del Grupo VIII; (b) un sistema de centelleo adaptado para recibir una corriente de la mezcla de reacción y separarla en (i) por lo menos una primera corriente líquida de reciclado, y (ii) una corriente cruda del proceso que contiene un producto carbonilado y un metal del Grupo VIII volátil o arrastrado; (c) una primera columna de destilación acoplada al sistema de centelleo, que se configura para separar los componentes de baja ebullición de la corriente cruda del proceso, y generar una corriente purificada del proceso; (d) por lo menos un primer lecho de resina que incluye un polímero con unidades de repetición heterocíclicas que contienen nitrógeno, dicho lecho de resina se posiciona para tratar la corriente purificada de proceso corriente abajo de la primera columna de destilación.
