Abstract

Una composicion de poliéter que comprende un poliéter, un catalizador funcionalizante y un catalizador de cianuro de metal que se forma formando un compuesto iniciador funcionalizado haciendo reaccionar un compuesto iniciador precursor con un compuesto funcionalizante y un catalizador funcionalizante para formar el compuesto iniciador funcionarizado, formando una mezcla del compuesto iniciador funcionalizado que contiene al menos una porcion del catalizador funcionalizante, un oxido de alquileno y un complejo catalizador de cianuro de metal y someter la mezcla a condiciones suficientes para activar el complejo catalizador y alcoxilar el compuesto iniciador funcionalizado para formar el poliéter. El compuesto iniciador funcionalizado puede ser de un aceite vegetal, grasa animal o aceite vegetal modificado o grasa animal modificada. El catalizador funcionalizante puede ser estano, titanio, yodo, rodio, níquel, ácido, un catalizador de enzima.
