Abstract

Procedimiento mejorado para la preparación de tocoferol, y de concentrados de tocoferol/tocotrienol a partir de destilados de aceite vegetal. Se obtienenconcentrados de tocoferol que contienen 20-80% de tocoferol en peso, con una recuperación total de tocoferol de 72% a 97%. El procedimiento comprendeprimero una reacción de esterificación en la que los alcoholes más volátiles se convierten a sus ésteres de ácidos grasos menos volátiles seguidos por unaserie de etapas de destilación en las cuales los componentes de punto de ebullición superior e inferior a la de los tocoferoles se separan de lostocoferoles y de otras substancias de punto de ebullición similar. Las ventajas del procedimiento consiste en que se produce tocoferol y concentrados detocoferol/tocotrienol en forma eficiente y económica con una mínima cantidad de etapas sin usar solventes y con una inversión de capital relativamente pequena.
