Abstract
Description
[1]
担体にヘテロポリ酸又はその塩が担持された触媒の存在下で、エチレンと酢酸とを反応させて酢酸エチルを製造する方法であって、
前記触媒におけるパラジウム濃度を0.1~14質量ppbの範囲とする、酢酸エチルの製造方法。
[2]
前記ヘテロポリ酸が、ケイタングステン酸又はリンタングステン酸である、[1]に記載の酢酸エチルの製造方法。
[3]
前記担体がシリカである、[1]又は[2]に記載の酢酸エチルの製造方法。
[4]
前記反応の前に、前記触媒におけるパラジウム濃度を測定する工程を含む、[1]~[3]のいずれかに記載の酢酸エチルの製造方法。
[酢酸エチル製造用触媒の製造]
一実施形態において、酢酸エチルは、固体酸触媒を用い、エチレンと酢酸とを気相中で反応させることにより製造される。酢酸エチル製造用の固体酸触媒は、触媒の主要な活性成分として、ヘテロポリ酸又はその塩(本開示において「ヘテロポリ酸塩」ともいう。)を含み、ヘテロポリ酸又はその塩が担体に担持されたものが用いられる。本開示においては、ヘテロポリ酸又はその塩が担体に担持されたものを、単に「触媒」という。
ヘテロポリ酸とは、中心元素及び酸素が結合した周辺元素からなる酸である。中心元素は、通常ケイ素又はリンであるが、元素の周期表の第1族~第17族の多種の元素から選ばれる任意の1つから選択することができる。

(式中、nは1~11の整数であり、xは1以上の整数である。)
担体は特に制限はなく、触媒用担体として一般に用いられている多孔質物質を使用することができる。好ましい担体として、例えば、シリカ、アルミナ、シリカ-アルミナ、珪藻土、モンモリロナイト、チタニア、及びジルコニアが挙げられ、より好ましくはシリカである。
触媒に含まれるパラジウムの形態としては、特に制限はなく、例えば、金属パラジウム、酸化パラジウム、パラジウムの無機塩、及びパラジウム錯体が挙げられる。パラジウムは、触媒調製の際に意図せず混入したものであってもよい。例えば、パラジウムを使用した触媒を製造した後、同じ装置を用いて一実施形態の触媒を調製した場合が該当する。
一実施形態において、酢酸エチルは、担体に担持されたヘテロポリ酸又はその塩を固体酸触媒として用い、酢酸とエチレンとを気相中で反応させることで得ることができる。一実施形態においては、酢酸エチルの製造方法は、酢酸とエチレンとの反応の前に、触媒におけるパラジウムの濃度を測定する工程を含むことが好ましく、反応には、パラジウムの濃度が0.1~14質量ppbの範囲の触媒を使用する。
風袋を測定したガラス製のメスシリンダーに、シリカ担体を数回に分けて投入するとともに、投入時毎に担体の入ったメスシリンダーをタッピングしてメスシリンダーの計量容積丁度になるまで担体を投入した。次いで、担体が入った状態でメスシリンダーの重量を測定し、メスシリンダーの風袋と容積から、担体の嵩密度を決定した。
市販のKeggin型ケイタングステン酸・24水和物(H4SiW12O40・24H2O、日本無機化学工業株式会社)120gと、硝酸パラジウム(Pd(NO3)2、富士フイルム和光純薬株式会社)0.003mgを、純水75.8g(75.8mL)に溶かし、108mLの水溶液を調製した。その後、得られた水溶液を、市販のシリカ担体(球状、直径:約5mm、嵩密度:451g/L)0.3L(134g)に加え、よくかき混ぜて担体に含浸させることで、ケイタングステン酸をシリカ担体に担持させた。ケイタングステン酸が担持されたシリカ担体を磁製皿に移し、1時間風乾させた後、熱風の温度を120℃、風速を50m/minに設定した通気式箱型熱風乾燥機(実験用通気棚式乾燥機、型名:LABO-4CS、株式会社長門電機工作所)で1時間乾燥させて、触媒A(仕込みから計算されるPd濃度:5質量ppb)を得た。
硝酸パラジウムの使用量を0.004mgに変更した以外は触媒Aと同様にして、触媒B(仕込みから計算されるPd濃度:7質量ppb)を得た。
硝酸パラジウムの使用量を0.008mgに変更した以外は触媒Aと同様にして、比較触媒C(仕込みから計算されるPd濃度:15質量ppb)を得た。
硝酸パラジウムの使用量を0.014mgに変更した以外は触媒Aと同様にして、比較触媒D(仕込みから計算されるPd濃度:25質量ppb)を得た。
硝酸パラジウムを使用しなかったこと以外は触媒Aと同様にして、参考触媒E(仕込みから計算されるPd濃度:0質量ppb)を得た。
市販のKeggin型ケイタングステン酸・24水和物(H4SiW12O40・24H2O、日本無機化学工業株式会社)と市販のシリカ担体(球状、直径:約5mm、嵩密度:451g/L)の量比が、硝酸パラジウムを使用しなかった触媒Eと同一となるようにして、実プラントにて触媒Fを約300kg製造した。触媒Fにおけるパラジウム濃度を測定したところ23質量ppbであった。触媒Fの製造工程において、何らかの原因によりパラジウム成分がごく微量混入したものと推定される。パラジウム濃度は、以下の方法により測定した。
触媒Fをメノウ乳鉢にて粉砕した後、粉末2gを蓋つきのアルミナ製るつぼに充填し、空気流通下でマッフル炉にて900℃で3時間焼成した。
触媒40mLを内径25mmのステンレス製反応管に充填し、0.75MPaG(ゲージ圧)まで昇圧したのち、155℃まで昇温した。窒素ガス85.5mol%、酢酸10.0mol%、及び水4.5mol%の混合ガスを、SV(触媒1Lあたりを1時間で通過する原料の体積(L/L・h=h-1))=1500h-1の条件で30分間処理した後、エチレン78.5mol%、酢酸10mol%、水4.5mol%、及び窒素ガス7.0mol%の混合ガスを、SV=1500h-1の条件で導入し、反応を行った。
凝縮液は、ガスクロマトグラフィー装置により分析した。内部標準法を用い、反応液10mLに対し、内部標準として1,4-ジオキサンを1mL添加したものを分析液として用い、そのうちの0.2μLを注入して、以下の条件で分析を行った。
・ガスクロマトグラフィー装置:Agilent Technologies 7890B
・カラム:キャピラリーカラムDB-WAX(長さ30m、内径0.32mm、膜厚:0.5μm)
・キャリアガス:窒素ガス(スプリット比200:1、カラム流量0.8mL/min)
・温度条件:検出器温度を250℃、気化室温度を200℃とし、カラム温度を、分析開始から5分間は60℃に保持し、その後10℃/minの昇温速度で80℃まで昇温し、80℃に到達後は30℃/minの昇温速度で200℃まで昇温し、200℃で20分間保持した。
・検出器:FID(H2流量40mL/min、空気流量450mL/min)
未凝縮ガスは、ガスクロマトグラフィー装置により分析した。絶対検量線法を用い、未凝縮ガスを100mL採取し、これをガスクロマトグラフィー装置に付属した500μLのガスサンプラーに全量流し、以下の条件で分析を行った。
・ガスクロマトグラフィー装置:Agilent Technologies 7890A
・カラム:Agilent J&W GCカラム DB-624
・キャリアガス:He(流量1.7mL/min)
・温度条件:検出器温度を230℃、気化室温度を200℃とし、カラム温度を、分析開始から3分間は40℃に保持し、その後20℃/minの速度で200℃まで昇温した。
・検出器:FID(H2流量40mL/min、空気流量400mL/min)
・ガスクロマトグラフィー装置:Agilent Technologies 7890A
・カラム:SHIMADZU GC GasPro(30m)、Agilent J&W GCカラム HP-1
・キャリアガス:He(流量2.7mL/min)
・温度条件:検出器温度を230℃、気化室温度を200℃とし、カラム温度を、分析開始から3分間は40℃に保持し、その後20℃/minの速度で200℃まで昇温した。
・検出器:FID(H2流量40mL/min、空気流量400mL/min)
酢酸エチルの空時収率、及びブテン選択率は、次の式にて求めた。
酢酸エチル空時収率(g/L・h)=(1時間あたりに生成した酢酸エチルの質量)/(使用した触媒の体積)
ブテン選択率(%)=(生成したブテンのモル数/供給したエチレンのモル数)×100
触媒A40mLを前記ステンレス製反応管(気相流通反応装置)に充填し、酢酸エチルの合成反応を行った。反応5時間後と200時間後において、凝縮液と未凝縮ガスの分析を実施し、酢酸エチル空時収率とブテン選択率を算出した。結果を表1に示す。
触媒Aの代わりに触媒Bを用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様の方法で、酢酸エチルの合成反応を行い、実施例1と同様の方法で分析を行った。結果を表1に示す。
触媒Aの代わりにそれぞれ、比較触媒C、比較触媒D、比較触媒Fを用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様の方法で、酢酸エチルの合成反応を行い、実施例1と同様の方法で分析を行った。結果を表1に示す。
触媒Aの代わりに参考触媒Eを用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様の方法で、酢酸エチルの合成反応を行い、実施例1と同様の方法で分析を行った。結果を表1に示す。
Claims (4)
- 担体にヘテロポリ酸又はその塩が担持された触媒の存在下で、エチレンと酢酸とを反応させて酢酸エチルを製造する方法であって、
前記触媒におけるパラジウム濃度を0.1~14質量ppbの範囲とする、酢酸エチルの製造方法。 - 前記ヘテロポリ酸が、ケイタングステン酸又はリンタングステン酸である、請求項1に記載の酢酸エチルの製造方法。
- 前記担体がシリカである、請求項1又は2に記載の酢酸エチルの製造方法。
- 前記反応の前に、前記触媒におけるパラジウム濃度を測定する工程を含む、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の酢酸エチルの製造方法。
