본 발명은 열가소성 수지 조성물 및 이로부터 제조된 성형품에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따르면 종래의 폴리아마이드 복합소재 대비 충격강도, 신율 및 가공성 등이 동등 이상이면서도 인장강도가 크게 개선되고 경량으로 금속소재 부품을 대체하기에 특히 적합한 열가소성 수지 조성물 및 이로부터 제조된 성형품을 제공하는 효과가 있다.
Description
〔출원(들)과의 상호 인용〕
본 출원은 2020.10.29일자 한국특허출원 제 10-2020-0141892호 및 그를 토대로 2021.09.15일자로 재출원한 한국특허출원 제 10-2021-0122959호를 기초한 우선권의 이익을 주장하며, 해당 한국 특허 출원의 문헌에 개시된 모든 내용은 본 명세서의 일부로서 포함된다.
본 발명은 열가소성 수지 조성물 및 이로부터 제조된 성형품에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 종래의 폴리아마이드 복합소재 대비 충격강도, 신율 및 가공성 등이 동등 이상이면서도 인장강도가 크게 개선되고 경량으로 금속소재 부품을 대체하기에 특히 적합한 열가소성 수지 조성물 및 이로부터 제조된 성형품에 관한 것이다.
자동차 부품 소재로, 알루미늄 얼로이 또는 마그네슘 얼로이 등 금속을 사용하는 경우 비중, 후가공, 가격변동성, 환경문제 등 단점이 있다.
이에 경량화 및 제조원가 절감을 위하여 자동차 부품 소재를 플라스틱으로 대체하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있으며, 대체화 소재로 기계적 강도, 성형성, 장기물성 등이 우수한 폴리아마이드 수지가 주목받고 있다.
알루미늄, 스틸 등 금속을 대체하여 폴리아마이드 수지를 자동차 안전부품 소재로 적용하기 위해 유리섬유(GF), 아라미드 섬유(AF), 탄소섬유(CF) 등의 강화섬유를 포함시킨 폴리아마이드 복합소재에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다.
하지만, 탄소섬유(CF)는 자동차 구조체용 소재로 적용하기에는 충격강도가 낮다는 단점이 있으며, 충격강도를 구현할 수 있는 유리섬유(GF)는 실리카, 알루미나, 산화칼슘, 마그네시아 등 다양한 성분들로 구성되어 조성에 따라 상이한 성능을 발현하게 되므로 적용처에 특화된 성능 향상을 제공할 수 있는 폴리아마이드 수지 조성물의 개발이 절실한 실정이다.

상기의 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 본 발명은
유리전이온도(Tg)가 50 내지 60 ℃이고 용융온도(Tm)가 240 내지 265 ℃인 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 20 내지 64 중량%; 실리카 함량이 52 내지 66 중량%인 유리 섬유 36 내지 80 중량%; 및 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 0 내지 30 중량%;를 포함하고,
표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 상온 인장강도가 270 MPa 이상인 열가소성 수지 조성물을 제공한다.
상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지의 유리전이온도(Tg)를 a라 하고, 상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지의 유리전이온도(Tg)를 b라 하고, 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지의 용융온도(Tm)를 c라 하고, 상기 유리 섬유에 포함된 실리카 함량을 d라 하면, 하기 수학식 1 내지 수학식 3를 만족할 수 있다.

상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 폴리헥사메틸렌 아디파미드 (PA66)이고, 상기 열가소성 수지 조성물 총 중량 기준으로 25 내지 60 중량%로 포함될 수 있다.
상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 PA MACM12, PA PACM12 또는 이들의 혼합물 혹은 코폴리아마이드이거나, 폴리헥사메틸렌 이소프탈아미드(PA6I), PAMXDI, PA6I/MXDI으로부터 선택되는 무정형 수지일 수 있다.
상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 폴리헥사메틸렌 이소프탈아미드(PA6I)이고, 상기 열가소성 수지 조성물 총 중량 기준으로 4~25 중량%로 포함될 수 있다.
상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은 난연제, 핵제, 열안정제, 광안정제, 활제, 산화방지제 및 증점제 중에서 선택된 1종 이상의 첨가제를 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은, 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 40 내지 60 중량%; 상기 유리 섬유 40 내지 60 중량%; 및 첨가제 0 내지 5 중량%;를 포함하고, 비중이 1.45 내지 1.70 g/cm3인 동시에 충격강도가 18.5 내지 22.5 kJ/m2이고, ISO 527에 의거한 표선구간 50mm에서의 신율이 2.5 내지 3.3%이며, 비중이 1.45 내지 1.70 g/cm3일 수 있다.
상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은, 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 30 내지 60 중량%; 상기 유리 섬유 40 내지 70 중량%; 및 첨가제 0 내지 5 중량%;를 포함하고, 비중이 1.45 내지 1.85 g/cm3인 동시에 충격강도가 18.5 내지 22.5 kJ/m2이고, ISO 527에 의거한 표선구간 50mm에서의 신율이 1.9 내지 3.3%일 수 있다.
상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은, 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 25 내지 45 중량%; 상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 4 내지 25 중량%; 상기 유리 섬유 50 내지 60 중량%; 및 첨가제 0 내지 5 중량%;를 포함하고, ISO 527에 의거한 표선구간 50mm에서의 신율이 2.3 내지 2.9%일 수 있다.
상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은, 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 20 내지 36 중량%; 상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 4 내지 20 중량%; 상기 유리 섬유 60 중량%; 및 첨가제 0 내지 5 중량%;를 포함하고, 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 상온 인장강도가 270 MPa 이상이면서 ISO 527에 의거한 표선구간 50mm에서의 신율이 2.2 내지 2.5%이고, ASTM D638 Type 1에 의거하여 두께가 3.2mm이고 폭이 12.7mm인 시편에서 5mm/min 속도로 측정한 유리섬유배향이 흐름 방향(MD)으로 225 내지 250 MPa이고 직각 방향(TD)으로 120 내지 165 MPa일 수 있다.
상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 상온 인장강도를 a라 하고 ISO 527에 의거한 표선구간 50mm에서의 신율을 b라 하고, ASTM D638 Type 1에 의거하여 두께가 3.2mm이고 폭이 12.7mm인 시편에서 5mm/min 속도로 측정한 유리섬유의 흐름방향(MD)과 직각방향(TD)간 차를 c라 할 때 a+b/c의 계산값이 2.88 이상일 수 있다.
상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 상온(23℃) 인장강도와 고온(90℃) 인장강도로부터 계산한 물성저하율(%)이 하기 식 1을 만족할 수 있다.

또한, 본 발명은
유리전이온도(Tg)가 50 내지 60 ℃이고 용융온도(Tm)가 240 내지 265 ℃인 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 20 내지 64 중량%; 실리카 함량이 52 내지 66 중량%인 유리 섬유 36 내지 80 중량%; 및 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 0 내지 30 중량%;를 용융 혼련 및 압출하는 단계;를 포함하며, 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 상온 인장강도가 270 MPa 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 열가소성 수지 조성물의 제조방법을 제공한다.
또한, 본 발명은 전술한 열가소성 수지 조성물로부터 제조된 성형품을 제공한다.
상기 성형품은 고강성 고인성 경량 자동차 부품일 수 있다.
본 발명에 따르면, 종래의 폴리아마이드 복합소재 대비 충격강도, 신율 및 가공성 등이 동등 이상이면서도 인장강도가 크게 개선되고 경량으로 금속소재 부품을 대체하기에 특히 적합한 열가소성 수지 조성물 및 이로부터 제조된 성형품을 제공하는 효과가 있다.
따라서, 본 발명에 따른 상기 열가소성 수지 조성물 및 성형품은 이를 필요로 하는 자동차산업 부품분야에 널리 적용될 수 있다. 구체적으로, 운행 도중뿐 아니라 사고 등 위급 상황에서 강한 힘과 압력을 받는 부품들인 시트벨트와 에어백을 비롯한 자동차용 안전부품 소재, 차량용 정보안내 디스플레이 및 계기판, 디지털 콕핏용 금속대체 소재로서 적용될 수 있다.
이하 본 발명에 대한 이해를 돕기 위하여 본 발명을 보다 상세하게 설명한다.
본 명세서 및 청구범위에 사용된 용어나 단어는 통상적이거나 사전적인 의미로 한정해서 해석되어서는 아니되며, 발명자는 발명을 최선의 방법으로 설명하기 위해 용어의 개념을 적절하게 정의할 수 있다는 점을 감안하여 본 발명의 기술적 사상에 부합하는 의미와 개념으로 해석되어야 한다.
본 발명에 따른 열가소성 수지 조성물은, 유리전이온도와 용융온도가 특정된 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지, 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지, 및 유리 섬유를 특정 조성으로 포함하고, 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 인장강도가 270MPa 이상인 경우, 제품 디자인과 설계 변경이 동시 고려되었을 때 기존 금속을 대체 가능한 정도의 고강성, 경량화 및 외관품질이 확보되는 결과를 확인하였으며, 나아가 소정의 핵제, 난연제, 증점제를 필요에 따라 선택적으로 포함시킬 수 있으며, 이 경우에 종래의 폴리아마이드 복합소재 대비 충격강도, 신율 및 가공성 등이 동등 이상이면서도 인장강도가 크게 개선되고 경량으로 금속소재 부품을 대체하기에 특히 적합한 것을 확인하고, 이를 토대로 연구에 더욱 매진하여 본 발명을 완성하게 되었다.

이하, 본 기재의 열가소성 수지 조성물을 구성하는 각 성분을 자세히 살펴보면 다음과 같다.
비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지
본 발명의 일 실시예에서, 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 주사슬에 방향족 고리를 포함하지 않는 구조로 지방족 디카르복실산 및 지방족 또는 지환족 디아민으로 구성된 모노머의 축중합에 의하여 제조된다.
상기 지방족 디카르복실산은 일례로 탄소수가 5 내지 7, 바람직하게는 6일 수 있다.
상기 지방족 또는 지환족 디아민은 일례로 탄소수가 6 내지 20일 수 있다.
일례로, 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 지방족 폴리아마이드일 수 있고, 구체적인 예로 하기 화학식 1로 나타내는 단위를 가지고, 상기 단위는 50 내지 500개 반복되며, L이 (CH2)n이고, n은 3 내지 6의 정수이며, 반결정질, 비정질 또는 이들의 혼합일 수 있다.

또한, 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 우레탄 결합-링커-우레탄 결합으로 나타내는 단위를 가지고, 상기 링커는 (CH2)6이고, 상기 단위는 50 내지 500개 반복되며, 반결정질, 비정질 또는 이들의 혼합인 것일 수 있다.
본 기재에서 비정질(amorphous) 폴리머는 유리전이온도(Tg)의 아래 온도값으로부터 Tg+300℃까지 범위의 온도에 대해 시차주사열량측정법(DSC) 테스트 동안 결정화(발열) 또는 용융(흡열) 피크들(peaks)을 생성하지 않는 폴리머로 정의되며, 반대로 만일 DSC 테스트에서 이러한 피크들이 기록된다면 그 폴리머 물질들은 결정질(crystalline) 또는 반결정질(semicrystalline) 폴리머이다. 상기 DSC 테스트는 당업자에게 공지되어 있다.
본 기재에서 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지(A)란 방향족을 포함하지 않고, 수지 내 비정질이 단순히 포함된 것이 아니라 실질적으로 상당 부분을 차지하는 것으로서 예컨대 비정질의 비율이 50 내지 60 중량%인 것을 말한다. 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지의 비정질의 비율이 상기 범위를 만족하는 경우에 기계적 특성과 성형성의 밸런스가 우수한 열가소성 수지 조성물을 확보할 수 있다.
본 발명에서 결정질(crystalline) 폴리머와 비정질(amorphous) 폴리머는 유리전이온도(Tg)의 아래 온도값으로부터 Tg+300℃까지 범위의 온도에 대해 시차주사열량측정법(DSC) 테스트에 의해 결정화(발열) 또는 용융(흡열) 피크들(peaks)을 생성하는 폴리머와 상기 결정화(발열) 또는 용융(흡열) 피크들(peaks)을 생성하지 않는 폴리머로 정의된다.
상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 구체적인 예로 폴리헥사메틸렌 아디파미드 (PA66)일 수 있다.
상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 유리전이온도가, 일례로 50 내지 60℃, 바람직하게는 52 내지 58℃인 것일 수 있다. 상술한 범위를 만족하면, 우수한 내열성을 제공할 수 있어 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물을 성형하여 제조된 성형품의 인장강도를 개선하는 효과가 있다.
상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 용융온도(Tm)가, 일례로 240 내지 265℃, 바람직하게는 245 내지 265℃인 것일 수 있다. 상술한 범위를 만족하면, 역시 보다 우수한 내열성을 가공성과 함께 제공할 수 있어 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물을 성형하여 제조된 성형품의 인장강도를 개선하는 효과가 있다.
본 발명에서 유리전이온도(Tg)와 용융온도(Tm)은 각각 DSC로 측정한 것일 수 있다. 일례로, 용융온도(Tm)는 Perkin-Elemer사의 DSC7을 이용하여 330℃에서 5분간 유지하고, 이어서 10℃/분의 속도로 23℃까지 온도를 내린 후, 10℃/분으로 온도를 올리고, 융해될 때의 흡열 피크를 지칭한다.
본 기재의 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 유리전이온도(Tg)가 50 내지 60℃, 또는 52 내지 60℃일 수 있고, 용융온도(Tm)가 240 내지 265℃, 또는 245 내지 265℃일 수 있다. 상술한 범위를 만족하면, 제품 디자인과 설계 변경이 동시 고려되었을 때 기존 금속을 대체 가능한 정도의 고강성, 경량화 및 외관품질이 확보될 수 있다.
상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 Sulfuric RV에 의거하여 96wt% 황산을 용매로 하고, 용액내 수지 농도를 1.0 w/v%로 계산한 상대점도가 2.3 내지 2.8, 바람직하게는 2.3 내지 2.7인 것이 바람직하다.
상기 상대점도(ηref)는 일례로 0.5중량% m-크레졸 용액을 사용하여 DIN EN ISO 307에 따라 20℃에서 측정하였다.
상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 전체 수지 조성물 중 일례로 20 내지 64 중량%, 20 내지 60 중량%, 20 내지 45 중량%, 20 내지 40 중량%, 25 내지 64 중량%, 30 내지 64 중량%, 35 내지 60 중량%, 40 내지 64 중량%, 또는 40 내지 60 중량%로 포함할 수 있다. 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지가 상기 범위로 포함되는 경우에 가공성, 비중, 기계적 특성의 물성 균형이 우수한 열가소성 수지 조성물을 확보할 수 있고, 이로부터 금속 대체가 가능한 수준의 고강성 및 고인성 성형품을 제공할 수 있다.
유리 섬유
본 발명에서는 폴리아마이드 수지 조성물의 기계적 특성, 내열성 및 치수안정성 등을 증가시키기 위하여 유리 섬유를 포함한다.
상기 무기유리 섬유가 열가소성 수지 조성물에 포함되는 경우, 수지 조성물로부터 형성되는 성형품의 인장강도, 충격강도, 신율 등의 기계적 특성 및 내열 특성이 향상될 수 있다.
특히, 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물을 사용한 부품 성형 분야에서는 수지 조성물의 유동성을 확보하는 것이 관건이다.
상기 유리 섬유 중 본 발명의 폴리아마이드 수지 조성물의 성형성을 개선하기 위하여 특정 유리소재를 도입한 것으로, 일례로 자동차 시트벨트용 부품 성형 분야에서 전술한 특정 유리소재를 사용하는 경우, 기초 수지의 충분한 내열성 및 기계적 물성을 유지하며 가공성 및 성형성이 충분히 확보되는 것을 확인하였다.
상기 유리 섬유는 일례로 단면이 원형 또는 비원형일 수 있고, 이때 단면이 원형인 원형 유리섬유를 사용하는 경우에 고강성 및 신율 값에서 금속을 대체하는 효과를 제공할 수 있어 바람직하다.
또한 단면이 타원형 또는 비정형을 비롯한 비원형 타입인 플랫(flat) 유리섬유를 사용하는 경우에 유리섬유의 돌출이나 사출성형시 가스의 흐름자국 불량에 의한 표면외관을 저감할 수 있고, 부품 부위별 유리섬유 배향에 따른 물성 편차를 고려하여 제품화를 시도할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 평탄도와 변형 측면에서 유리하다.
본 기재에서 단면의 원형, 타원형 및 비정형은 본 발명이 속한 기술분야에서 통상적으로 인정되는 단면의 원형, 타원형 및 비정형인 경우 특별히 제한되지 않는다.
본 기재에서 원형은 단면이 원형을 띠면서 주 단면축 대 이차 단면축의 치수비가 1에 근접한 경우, 또는 1인 경우를 지칭하나 이에 한정하는 것은 아니다.
본 기재에서 타원형은 단면이 타원형을 띠면서 주 단면축 대 이차 단면축의 치수비가 2 대 6, 3 대 6, 또는 3.5 대 5.0인 경우를 지칭하나 이에 한정하는 것은 아니다.
본 기재에서 비정형은 일례로 단면이 원형이나 타원형을 띠지 않는 경우를 지칭하나, 이에 한정하는 것은 아니다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에서, 상기 유리섬유는 다른 무기질 섬유들과 함께 사용될 수 있으며, 상기 무기질 섬유는 탄소섬유, 현무암섬유, 양마 또는 대마 등의 천연섬유 중에서 선택된 하나 이상이다.
본 기재의 유리 섬유는 실리카 함량이 52 중량% 이상, 또는 52 내지 66 중량%인, 원형 단면 또는 비원형 단면의 유리 섬유일 수 있고, 이 경우에 제품 디자인과 설계 변경이 동시 고려되었을 때 기존 금속을 대체 가능한 정도의 고강성, 경량화 및 외관품질이 확보될 수 있다.
상기 유리 섬유는 일례로 직경(D) 대비 길이(L)의 비(L/D)로 나타내는 종횡비가 일례로 1:1 내지 1:4, 구체적인 예로 1:1 내지 1:3, 더욱 구체적으로 1:1인 경우, 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물에서 고강도, 고인성과 함께 신율과 표면외관 품질 개선을 제공할 수 있으며, 구체적인 예로 1:3 내지 1:4, 더욱 구체적으로 1:4인 경우 고강도, 고인성과 함께 평탄도, 변형 및 배향 측면에서 유리한 제품을 제공할 수 있다.
본 기재에서 직경 및 길이는 주사전자현미경(SEM)을 이용해서 측정할 수 있고, 구체적으로는 주사전자현미경을 이용하여 무기 충전제 20개를 선택하고, 직경을 측정할 수 있는 아이콘 바(bar)를 이용하여 각각의 직경과 길이를 잰 다음, 산술 평균내어 평균 직경과 평균 길이로 산출한다.
상기 D는 일례로 평균 직경이 6 내지 16㎛, 바람직하게는 평균 직경이 7 내지 11㎛, 보다 바람직하게는 평균 직경이 10 내지 11㎛인 것일 수 있다. 상술한 범위를 만족하면, 가공성을 개선하여 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물을 성형하여 제조된 성형품의 인장강도를 개선하는 효과가 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 유리 섬유는 일례로 실리카 52~66 중량%, 알루미나 12~21 중량%, 산화칼슘 0.5~24 중량%, 마그네시아 12 중량% 이하 또는 8 내지 12 중량%, 삼산화붕소 0~8 중량%, 이산화티탄 3 중량% 이하, Fe2O3 0~0.6 중량%, 및 산화나트륨과 산화칼륨의 합량 0.8 중량% 이하를 포함하고, 이 경우에 가공성, 비중, 기계적 특성의 물성 균형이 우수한 열가소성 수지 조성물을 확보할 수 있고, 이로부터 금속 대체가 가능한 수준의 고강성 및 고인성 성형품을 제공할 수 있다.
상기 유리 섬유는 실리카 52~66 중량%, 알루미나 12~21 중량%, 산화칼슘 0.5~24 중량%, 마그네시아 12 중량% 이하, 삼산화붕소 0~8 중량%, 이산화티탄 3 중량% 이하, Fe2O3 0~0.6 중량%, 산화붕소 0~8 중량%, F(불소) 0~0.7 중량%, 및 산화나트륨과 산화칼륨의 합량 0.8 중량% 이하를 포함하고, 이 경우에 가공성, 비중, 기계적 특성의 물성 균형이 우수한 열가소성 수지 조성물을 확보할 수 있고, 이로부터 금속 대체가 가능한 수준의 고강성 및 고인성 성형품을 제공할 수 있다.
상기 유리섬유는 실리카 58~62 중량%, 알루미나 14~18 중량%, 산화칼슘 10~13 중량%, 마그네시아 8~10 중량%, 이산화티탄 0.5~2 중량%, 산화나트륨과 산화칼륨의 합량 0.8 중량% 이하, 및 Fe2O3 0.5 중량% 이하를 포함하고, 이 경우에 가공성, 비중, 기계적 특성의 물성 균형이 우수한 열가소성 수지 조성물을 확보할 수 있고, 이로부터 금속 대체가 가능한 수준의 고강성 및 고인성 성형품을 제공할 수 있다.
상기 유리섬유는 실리카 52~56 중량%, 알루미나 12~16 중량%, 산화칼슘 20~24 중량%, 마그네시아 1.5 중량% 이하, 이산화티탄 1 중량% 이하, 산화나트륨과 산화칼륨의 합량 0.8 중량% 이하, Fe2O3 0.4 중량% 이하, 산화붕소 5~8 중량% 및 F(불소) 0.7 중량% 이하를 포함하고, 이 경우에 가공성, 비중, 기계적 특성의 물성 균형이 우수한 열가소성 수지 조성물을 확보할 수 있고, 이로부터 금속 대체가 가능한 수준의 고강성 및 고인성 성형품을 제공할 수 있다.
상기 유리섬유는 산화칼슘과 마그네슘의 합량이 17~24 중량%인 원형 단면을 갖는 원형 유리섬유일 수 있고, 이 경우에 가공성, 비중, 기계적 특성의 물성 균형이 우수한 열가소성 수지 조성물을 확보할 수 있고, 이로부터 금속 대체가 가능한 수준의 고강성 및 고인성 성형품을 제공할 수 있다.
상기 유리섬유는 산화칼슘과 마그네슘의 합량이 21~25 중량%인 비원형 단면을 갖는 플랫 유리섬유일 수 있고, 이 경우에 가공성, 비중, 기계적 특성의 물성 균형이 우수한 열가소성 수지 조성물을 확보할 수 있고, 이로부터 금속 대체가 가능한 수준의 고강성 및 고인성 성형품을 제공할 수 있다.
구체적인 예로, 유리 섬유는 일반식 AaBbCcDd으로 나타내는 것일 수 있다.
참조로, 제품으로 시판된 유리섬유의 경우 범용 등급의 경우에는 전술한 일반식에서 d ≤ 1.5인 특징을 나타내며, 초고강성 등급의 경우에는 0.5 ≤ c ≤ 5인 특징으로 나타내며, 또다른 범용 등급의 경우에는 상기 일반식에서 20 ≤ c ≤ 24, 2 ≤ d ≤ 5이고, 22 ≤ c+d ≤ 29인 특징을 나타내어 조성이 상이한 것으로 확인된다.
당업계에 공지된 것과는 달리 본 기재의 열가소성 수지 조성물에는 초고강성 등급보다는 원형 단면 고강성 등급 또는 비원형(flat) 일반 등급 강도를 사용하는 것이 인장강도와 사출 성형성을 개선하기에 바람직한 것을 후술하는 실시예를 통하여 확인하였다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에서, 상기 유리섬유는 섬유 제조시 또는 후처리 공정시 유리섬유 처리제(sizing compositions)에 의해 처리될 수 있는데, 상기 유리섬유 처리제로는 윤활제, 커플링제, 계면활성제 등이 있다.
상기 윤활제는 주로 유리섬유 제조시 양호한 스트랜드를 형성하기 위해 사용되며, 상기 커플링제는 유리섬유와 폴리아마이드 수지 사이의 양호한 접착을 가능하게 하는 것으로, 폴리아마이드 수지와 유리섬유의 종류를 고려하여 적절하게 선택하여 사용할 경우, 상기 유리섬유로 강화된 폴리아마이드 수지 조성물에 우수한 물성을 부여할 수 있다.
상기 커플링제의 사용방법으로는 유리섬유에 직접 처리하는 방법, 유기 매트릭스에 첨가하는 방법 등이 있으며, 커플링제의 성능을 충분히 발휘하기 위해서는 그 함량을 적절히 선택하여야 한다.
상기 커플링제의 예로는 아민계, 아크릴계 및 γ-아미노프로필트리에톡시실란, γ-아미노프로필트리메톡시실란, N-(베타-아미노에틸) γ-아미노프로필트리에톡시실란, γ-메타크릴옥시프로필 트리에톡시실란, γ-글리시독시프로필 트리메톡시실란 등이 있다.
상기 유리 섬유는 전체 수지 조성물 총 중량 중 일례로 36 내지 80 중량%, 40 내지 70 중량%, 50 내지 60 중량%, 또는 60 내지 65 중량%로 포함할 수 있다. 상술한 범위를 만족하면, 제품 디자인과 설계 변경이 동시 고려되었을 때 기존 금속을 대체 가능한 정도의 고강성, 경량화 및 외관품질이 확보될 수 있다.
방향족 폴리아마이드 수지
본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물은 필요에 따라 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 일례로 프탈아마이드, 바람직하게는 이소프탈산 유래 아마이드를 과량 포함하여 결정화가 거의 진행되지 않은 비정질 구조를 나타내게 된다. 이 경우 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지와 상용성을 제공하는 동시에 전술한 유리 섬유가 잘 투입할 수 있는 결합자리를 제공하여 유리 섬유 투입효과를 극대화하는 효과를 제공한다.
본 기재에서 상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지란 수지 내 비정질이 단순히 포함된 것이 아니라 실질적으로 대부분을 차지하는 것으로서 예컨대 비정질의 비율이 90 중량% 이상인 것을 말한다.
또한, 상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 DSC로 측정한 유리전이온도가 일례로 106 내지 150℃, 바람직하게는 106 내지 133℃, 보다 바람직하게는 117 내지 120℃일 수 있다. 상술한 범위를 만족하면, 보다 우수한 내열성을 가공성과 함께 제공할 수 있어 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물을 성형하여 제조된 성형품의 인장강도를 개선하는 효과가 있다.
상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 PA MACM12, PA PACM12 또는 이들의 혼합물 혹은 코폴리아마이드이거나, 폴리헥사메틸렌 이소프탈아미드(PA6I), PAMXDI, PA6I/MXDI으로부터 선택되는 무정형 수지일 수 있다.
상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는, 구체적인 예로 폴리헥사메틸렌 이소프탈아미드(PA6I)일 수 있다.
상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 전체 수지 조성물 총 중량 중 일례로 0 내지 30 중량%, 30 중량% 이하, 4 내지 25 중량%, 또는 4 내지 20 중량%로 포함할 수 있다. 상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지가 상기 범위로 포함되는 경우에 우수한 기계적 특성, 특히 강성과 가공성이 상대적으로 우수한 특성을 구현할 수 있다.
상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지의 유리전이온도(Tg)를 a라 하고, 상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지의 유리전이온도(Tg)를 b라 하고, 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지의 용융온도(Tm)를 c라 하고, 상기 유리 섬유에 포함된 실리카 함량을 d라 하면, 하기 수학식 1 내지 수학식 3를 만족할 수 있다.

첨가제
본 발명의 일 실시예에서, 상기 열가소성 수지 조성물에는 일례로 난연제, 핵제, 열안정제, 광안정제, 활제, 산화방지제 및 증점제 중에서 선택된 1종 이상을 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 난연제는 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물에 악영향을 미치지 않는 한 공지된 종류를 다양하게 사용할 수 있으며, 시판되는 물질 중에서는 대표적으로 Clariant_Exolit-OP-1230를 사용할 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 핵제는 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물에 악영향을 미치지 않는 한 공지된 종류를 다양하게 사용할 수 있으며, 시판되는 물질 중에서는 대표적으로 BRUGGOLEN_P22를 사용할 수 있다.
상기 증점제는 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물에 악영향을 미치지 않는 한 공지된 종류를 다양하게 사용할 수 있으며, 시판되는 물질 중에서는 대표적으로 Xibond250를 사용할 수 있다.
상기 산화방지제는 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물에 악영향을 미치지 않는 한 공지된 종류를 다양하게 사용할 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 활제는 갈탄 유래 광물성 왁스 또는 올레핀계 왁스일 수 있고, 상기 열가소성 수지 조성물에 우수한 이형성 및 사출성을 유지할 수 있도록 하는 역할을 제공한다.
상기 올레핀계 왁스는 용융점도가 낮은 중합체로 미끄럼성과 가소성을 갖는 유질상의 고체일 수 있고, 일례로 폴리에틸렌 왁스 및 폴리프로필렌 왁스 중에서 선택되는 1종 이상일 수 있고 시판되는 제품을 사용할 수 있다.
상기 광물성 왁스는 융점과 경도가 높아 열 안정성이 있고 OP 및 E 등급에서 선택되는 1종 이상일 수 있으며, 본 발명의 정의에 따르는 한 시판되는 제품을 사용할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에서, 상기 첨가제는 전체 열가소성 수지 조성물 총 중량 기준으로 일례로 5 중량% 이하, 0.05 내지 3 중량%, 바람직하게는 0.01 내지 2 중량%로 포함될 수 있다. 상술한 범위를 만족하면, 우수한 이형성 및 사출성을 충분하게 제공할 수 있다.
이외에도, 필요에 따라 가공조제, 안료, 착색제 등을 더 포함할 수 있다.
열가소성 수지 조성물
본 발명에 따른 유리섬유강화 폴리아마이드 수지 조성물은 일례로 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 인장강도가 270MPa 이상인 것을 특징으로 한다.
상기 인장강도는 두께 4mm, 폭 10mm의 시편에서 표선구간(신율 측정) 50mm 하에 측정한 것일 수 있다.
상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 상온 인장강도가 300MPa 이상이고, 90℃ 하에 측정한 고온 인장강도가 180MPa 이상일 수 있다. 이 경우에 기계적 특성, 특히 강성과 가공성이 상대적으로 우수한 특성을 구현할 수 있다.
상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 상온(23℃) 인장강도와 고온(90℃) 인장강도로부터 계산한 물성저하율(%)이 하기 식 1을 만족할 수 있다. 이 경우에 기계적 특성, 특히 강성과 가공성이 상대적으로 우수한 특성을 구현할 수 있다.

상기 식 1의 계산값은 일례로 34 내지 44이고, 바람직하게는 34.5 내지 43.9일 수 있다.
본 발명의 상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 상온 인장강도를 a라 하고 ISO 527에 의거한 표선구간 50mm에서의 신율을 b라 하고, ASTM D638 Type 1에 의거하여 두께가 3.2mm이고 폭이 12.7mm인 시편에서 5mm/min 속도로 측정한 유리섬유의 흐름방향(MD)과 직각방향(TD)간 차를 c라 할 때 a+b/c의 계산값이 2.88 이상, 2.88 내지 4.0, 또는 2.9 내지 3.8일 수 있다. 이 경우에 종래의 폴리아마이드 복합소재 대비 충격강도, 신율 및 가공성 등이 동등 이상이면서도 인장강도가 크게 개선되고 경량으로 금속소재 부품을 대체하기에 특히 적합할 수 있다.
구체적인 예로, 상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 31 내지 41 중량%; 상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 4 내지 8 중량%; 상기 실리카 강화 유리 섬유 51 내지 55 중량%; 및 난연제 0.2 내지 6 중량%를 포함하는 경우, 종래의 폴리아마이드 복합소재 대비 충격강도, 신율 및 가공성 등이 동등 이상이면서도 인장강도가 크게 개선되고 경량으로 금속소재 부품을 대체하기에 특히 적합할 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물은 바람직하게는 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 40 내지 60 중량%; 상기 유리 섬유 40 내지 60 중량%; 및 첨가제 0 내지 5 중량%;를 포함하고, 비중이 1.45 내지 1.70 g/cm3인 동시에 충격강도가 18.5 내지 22.5 kJ/m2이고, ISO 527에 의거한 표선구간 50mm에서의 신율이 2.5 내지 3.3%이며, 비중이 1.45 내지 1.70 g/cm3인 경우에, 종래의 폴리아마이드 복합소재 대비 충격강도, 신율 및 가공성 등이 동등 이상이면서도 인장강도가 크게 개선되고 경량으로 금속소재 부품을 대체하기에 적합한 열가소성 수지 조성물을 제공하는 이점이 있다.
또한, 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물은 바람직하게는 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 30 내지 60 중량%; 상기 유리 섬유 40 내지 70 중량%; 및 첨가제 0 내지 5 중량%;를 포함하고, 비중이 1.45 내지 1.85 g/cm3인 동시에 충격강도가 18.5 내지 22.5 kJ/m2이고, ISO 527에 의거한 표선구간 50mm에서의 신율이 1.9 내지 3.3%인 경우에, 종래의 폴리아마이드 복합소재 대비 충격강도, 신율 및 가공성 등이 동등 이상이면서도 인장강도가 크게 개선되고 경량으로 금속소재 부품을 대체하기에 적합한 열가소성 수지 조성물을 제공하는 이점이 있다.
또한, 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물은 바람직하게는 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 25 내지 45 중량%; 상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 4 내지 25 중량%; 상기 유리 섬유 50 내지 60 중량%; 및 첨가제 0 내지 5 중량%;를 포함하고, ISO 527에 의거한 표선구간 50mm에서의 신율이 2.3 내지 2.9%인 경우에, 종래의 폴리아마이드 복합소재 대비 충격강도, 신율 및 가공성 등이 동등 이상이면서도 인장강도가 크게 개선되고 경량으로 금속소재 부품을 대체하기에 적합한 열가소성 수지 조성물을 제공하는 이점이 있다.
또한, 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물은 바람직하게는 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 20 내지 36 중량%; 상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 4 내지 20 중량%; 상기 유리 섬유 60 중량%; 및 첨가제 0 내지 5 중량%;를 포함하고, 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 상온 인장강도가 270 MPa 이상이면서 ISO 527에 의거한 표선구간 50mm에서의 신율이 2.2 내지 2.5%이고, ASTM D638 Type 1에 의거하여 두께가 3.2mm이고 폭이 12.7mm인 시편에서 5mm/min 속도로 측정한 유리섬유배향이 흐름 방향(MD)으로 225 내지 250 MPa이고 직각 방향(TD)으로 120 내지 165 MPa인 경우에, 종래의 폴리아마이드 복합소재 대비 충격강도, 신율 및 가공성 등이 동등 이상이면서도 인장강도가 크게 개선되고 경량으로 금속소재 부품을 대체하기에 적합한 열가소성 수지 조성물을 제공하는 이점이 있다.
열가소성 수지 조성물의 제조방법
본 발명에 따른 열가소성 수지 조성물은 당업계에서 공지된 방법으로 제조될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은 각 구성성분과 기타 첨가제들의 혼합물을 압출기 내에서 용융 압출하는 방법에 의해 펠렛의 형태로 제조될 수 있으며, 상기 펠렛은 사출 및 압출 성형품에 이용될 수 있다.
상기 열가소성 수지 조성물의 제조방법은 전술한 열가소성 수지 조성물의 모든 기술적인 특징을 공유한다. 따라서 중첩되는 부분에 대한 설명은 생략한다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에서, 상기 펠렛은 280 내지 310℃의 온도에서 압출되고, 이때 온도는 실리더에 설정된 온도를 의미한다.
상기 압출 혼련기는 본 발명이 속한 기술분야에서 통상적으로 사용되는 압출 혼련기인 경우 특별히 제한되지 않으며, 바람직하게는 2축 압출 혼련기일 수 있다.
사출 시 금형의 온도는 90 내지 150℃, 바람직하게는 100 내지 120℃의 범위를 가지는 것이 바람직하다. 상기 금형온도가 90℃ 미만일 경우 외관 특성이 저하될 수 있고 어닐링에 따른 결정화도 및 물성 증가 효과를 기대하기 어렵고, 150℃를 초과할 경우 펠렛이 금형에 달라붙게 되어 이형성이 저하되고 냉각 속도가 증가될 수 있으며, 양산 측면에서 생산성이 크게 감소할 수 있다.
상기 사출 공정은 일례로 호퍼 온도, 또는 노즐 온도가 290℃ 내지 305℃로 각각 설정된 사출기를 사용하여 수행할 수 있다.
본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물의 제조방법은 일례로 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지; 유리 섬유; 및 임의로 폴리프탈아마이드계 수지와 첨가제 등을 포함하는 수지 조성물을 용융 혼련 및 압출하는 단계를 포함한다.
구체적인 예로, 상기 열가소성 수지 조성물의 제조방법은 유리전이온도(Tg)가 50 내지 60 ℃이고 용융온도(Tm)가 240 내지 265 ℃인 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 20 내지 64 중량%; 실리카 함량이 52 내지 66 중량%인 유리 섬유 36 내지 80 중량%; 및 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 0 내지 30 중량%;를 용융 혼련 및 압출하는 단계;를 포함하며, 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 상온 인장강도가 270 MPa 이상일 수 있다.
<성형품>
본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따르면, 전술한 열가소성 수지 조성물로 제조된 성형품을 제공한다.
상기 성형품은, 일례로 고강성 고인성 경량 자동차 부품일 수 있다.
상기 성형품은, 다른 예로 자동차 시트벨트용 금속 대체 부품일 수 있고, 또 다른 예로 차량용 정보 안내 디스플레이 및 계기판, 디지털 콕핏용 금속 대체 부품일 수 있다.
상기 성형품은 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 인장강도가 일례로 270MPa 이상, 바람직하게는 300MPa 이상일 수 있다.
또한, 상기 성형품은 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거하여 90℃ 하에 측정한 고온 인장강도가 180MPa 이상일 수 있다.
따라서 본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물은 우수한 성형성, 내열성, 고강도 고인성이 요구되는 성형품의 재료로서 사용될 수 있다.
본 발명의 열가소성 수지 조성물은 고강도 고인성의 경량화 부품을 요구하는 용도라면 다양하게 적용할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 자동차 부품뿐 아니라 전기전자 부품, 사무기기용 부품 등에도 사용할 수 있다.
또한, 본 기재의 열가소성 수지 조성물 및 성형품을 설명함에 있어서, 명시적으로 기재하지 않은 다른 조건이나 장비 등은 당업계에서 통상적으로 실시되는 범위 내에서 적절히 선택할 수 있고, 특별히 제한되지 않음을 명시한다.
이하, 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자가 용이하게 실시할 수 있도록 본 발명의 실시예에 대하여 상세히 설명한다. 그러나 본 발명은 여러가지 상이한 형태로 구현될 수 있으며 여기에서 설명하는 실시예에 한정하는 것은 아니다.

실시예 1 내지 3, 및 비교예 1 내지 6
상기 각 구성성분을 하기 표 1에 기재된 함량대로 첨가하고 280 내지 310℃로 가열된 이축 압출기에서 용융 혼련시켜 펠릿 상태의 수지 조성물을 제조하였다.
제조된 펠렛을 120℃ 온도에서 4시간 이상 건조시킨 다음 사출시 금형 온도 조건은 120℃이며, 호퍼 온도 290℃ 내지 노즐 온도 305℃로 설정된 스크류식 사출기를 이용하여 기계적 물성 평가용 시편을 제작하였다. 제작된 두께 4mm, 폭 10mm 및 표선구간(신율측정) 50mm의 시편에 대하여 하기와 같은 방법으로 물성을 측정하고 하기 표 1에 나타내었다.
*비중(단위 g/cm3): ISO 1183에 의거하여 측정하였다.
*인장강도(단위 MPa): ISO 527에 의거하여 상온(23℃) 및 고온(90℃)에서 측정하였다.
*신율(단위 %): ISO 527에 의거하여 측정하였다.
*충격강도(단위 KJ/m2): ISO 179(charpy)에 의거하여 측정하였다.
*압출작업성: 육안으로 용융 강도와 단사 여부를 관찰하고, 용융 강도와 단사 여부에 따라 매우 좋음(◎), 좋음(○), 미흡(△), 불량(X)으로 나타내었다.
*사출성형성: 육안으로 사출 성형품의 외관을 관찰하고, 매우 좋음(◎), 좋음(○), 미흡(△), 불량(X)으로 나타내거나, 1 부터 15 내에서 점수를 매겼다. 참고로 낮은 값일수록 우수한 외관을 나타낸다.

상기 표 1에서 보듯이, 본 발명에 따른 필수구성인 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 및 유리 섬유를 적절한 조성으로 포함하는 실시예 1 내지 3은 비중이 1.45 내지 1.70 g/cm3이고, 인장강도가 270MPa 이상이고, 신율이 2.5 내지 3.3%이고, 충격강도가 18.5KJ/m2 이상으로서, 고강도 고인성 및 비중의 물성 균형을 확인할 수 있었다.
반면, 유리 섬유로서 범용 유리섬유를 사용한 비교예 1의 경우, 인장강도가 저하된 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
또한, 유리 섬유로서 범용 유리섬유와 월라스토나이트를 배합하여 사용한 비교예 2의 경우에는 인장강도가 열악해질 뿐 아니라 신율과 충격강도 또한 저하된 것으로 확인되었다.
또한, 유리 섬유로서 유리섬유 대신 탄소섬유를 사용한 비교예 3의 경우에는 인장강도와 충격강도 등 기계적 물성이 부족한 것으로 확인되었다.
또한, 유리 섬유로서 적절한 유리섬유를 사용하되, 여기에 일부 탄소섬유를 배합하는 비교예 4의 경우, 신율과 충격강도가 저하된 것으로 확인되었고, 탄소섬유 배합량을 좀더 올린 비교예 5의 경우에는 신율과 충격강도뿐 아니라 인장강도까지 열세인 것으로 확인되었다.
유리 섬유로서 유리섬유 대신 탄소섬유와 스테인레스 스틸 섬유를 배합하여 사용한 비교예 6의 경우에도 인장강도, 신율 및 충격강도 등 기계적 물성이 전반적으로 부족한 것으로 확인되었다.
실시예 4 내지 6 및 비교예 7 내지 8
상기 각 구성성분을 하기 표 2에 기재된 함량대로 혼합한 것을 제외하고는 상기 실시예 1의 제조방법과 동일한 방법으로 시편을 제조하였으며, 제조된 시편에 대하여 실시예 1과 같은 방법으로 물성을 측정하고 하기 표 2에 나타내었다.

(상기 표 2에서 A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4, B-1, B-2, B-3, B-4, B-5, B-6, C-1 및 C-2의 함량은 열가소성 수지 총 100 중량%를 기준으로 한 중량%이다.)상기 표 2에서 보듯이, 본 발명에 따른 필수구성인 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 및 유리 섬유에 폴리프탈아마이드계 수지를 적절한 조성으로 포함하는 실시예 4 내지 6은 인장강도가 303MPa 이상이고, 신율이 2.3 내지 2.6%로서 성형품의 외관 품질이 우수하거나 매우 우수하여 고강도 고인성, 가공성 및 사출 성형성의 물성 균형을 확인할 수 있었다.
반면, 유리전이온도와 용융온도가 부적절한 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지를 사용한 비교예 7의 경우, 사출 성형성, 압축작업성, 인장강도, 신율이 전반적으로 저하된 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
또한, 유리전이온도와 용융온도가 부적절한 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지와 부적절한 강성 유리 섬유를 배합하여 사용한 비교예 8의 경우에는 사출성형성과 인장강도가 열악해질 뿐 아니라 압출작업성과 신율 또한 열악한 것으로 확인되었다.
실시예 7 내지 9 및 비교예 9 내지 18
상기 각 구성성분을 하기 표 3에 기재된 함량대로 혼합한 것을 제외하고는 상기 실시예 1의 제조방법과 동일한 방법으로 시편을 제조하였으며, 제조된 시편에 대하여 실시예 1과 같은 방법으로 물성을 측정하고 하기 표 3에 나타내었다.
참고로, 하기 표 3에 나타낸 물성저하율(단위 %)은 상온(23℃) 인장강도를 측정한 다음 고온(90℃) 측정후 상온 대비 고온 물성 감소 정도를 하기 식 1에 의해 계산하였다.

(상기 표 3에서 A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4, B-1, B-2, B-3, B-4, B-5, B-6, C-1 및 C-2의 함량은 열가소성 수지 총 100 중량%를 기준으로 한 중량%, D, E, F의 함량은 열가소성 수지 총 100 중량부 기준으로 한 중량부이다.)상기 표 3에서 보듯이, 본 발명에 따른 필수구성인 비방향족 폴리아마이드 매우 좋음(◎), 좋음(○), 미흡(△), 불량(X)수지 및 유리 섬유에 폴리프탈아마이드계 수지 및 첨가제를 적절한 조성으로 포함하는 실시예 7 내지 9는 상온 인장강도가 300 내지 320MPa이고, 고온 인장강도가 180MPa 이상이고 압출가공성이 우수하며, 물성저하율이 40% 이하로서 고강도 고인성, 가공성 및 열적 특성의 물성 균형을 확인할 수 있었다.
반면, 유리전이온도와 용융온도가 부적절한 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지를 소량 사용한 비교예 9의 경우, 사출 성형성과 상온 인장강도가 저하된 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
또한, 적절한 유리 섬유를 사용하더라도 소량 사용한 비교예 10의 경우, 상온 인장강도가 불량한 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
또한, 적절한 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지를 소량 사용하면서 부적절한 폴리프탈아마이드계 수지를 배합한 비교예 11 내지 12의 경우, 폴리프탈아마이드계 수지의 배합량에 따라 압출가공성과 상온 인장강도가 불량하거나 혹은 상온 인장강도, 고온 인장강도 및 물성저하율이 열악한 것으로 확인되었고, 역시 적절한 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지를 소량 사용하면서 부적절한 유리전이온도와 용융온도를 갖는 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지를 배합한 비교예 14의 경우, 고온인장강도와 물성저하율이 열악한 것으로 확인되었다.
또한, 부적절한 유리전이온도와 용융온도를 갖는 비방향족 폴리아마이드수지를 사용한 비교예 13의 경우, 압출가공성과 상온 인장강도가 불량하였다.
또한, 비교예 15 내지 18은 부적절한 유리전이온도와 용융온도를 갖는 비방향족 폴리아마이드수지를 소량 사용하면서 첨가제 투입에 따른 효과를 살펴본 것으로, 핵제를 과량 투입한 비교예 15의 경우, 압출가공성과 상온 인장강도가 불량한 것으로 확인되었고, 난연제를 투입한 비교예 16의 경우, 압출가공성, 상온 인장강도, 고온 인장강도 및 물성저하율이 전반적으로 하락하는 것으로 확인되었으며, 증점제를 소량 투입한 비교예 17의 경우 압출가공성이 악화되고, 고온 인장강도와 물성저하율이 불량한 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 증점제를 과량 투입한 비교예 18의 경우 압출가공성이 불량할 뿐 아니라 인장강도, 물성저하율은 측정이 불가한 것으로 확인되는 등 내열 안정제, 난연제 등의 첨가제 도입이 고온 개선에 끼치는 영향은 미미하며 압출 가공성을 저하하는 것을 알 수 있다.
실시예 10 내지 13 및 비교예 19 내지 22
상기 각 구성성분을 하기 표 4에 기재된 함량대로 혼합한 것을 제외하고는 상기 실시예 1의 제조방법과 동일한 방법으로 시편을 제조하였으며, 제조된 시편에 대하여 실시예 1과 같은 방법으로 물성을 측정하고 하기 표 4에 나타내었다.
참고로, 하기 표 4에 나타낸 MD 배향, TD 배향은 유리 섬유 배향(단위 MPa)을 각각 MD(흐름방향)과 TD(직각 방향)에 대해 ASTM D638 Type 1에 의거하여 하기 조건 하에 배향에 따른 물성을 측정한 것으로, 시편 두께는 3.2mm, 시편 폭은 12.7mm, 표선구간(신율측정)은 50mm, 그리고 측정속도는 5mm/min이었다.

(상기 표 4에서 A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4, B-1, B-2, B-3, B-4, B-5, B-6, C-1 및 C-2의 함량은 열가소성 수지 총 100 중량%를 기준으로 한 중량%이다.)상기 표 4에서 보듯이, 본 발명에 따른 필수구성인 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 및 유리 섬유에 폴리프탈아마이드계 수지를 포함하되 상기 유리 섬유에 단면 형상별로 나누어 추가 실험한 결과, 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 및 유리 섬유에 폴리프탈아마이드계 수지를 적절한 조성범위로 포함하되 상기 유리 섬유가 원형 단면인 경우인 실시예 10, 그리고 유리 섬유가 비원형 비원형 단면인 실시예 11 내지 실시예 12는 각각 유리 섬유의 단면 형태 및 단면비에 따라 MD(흐름 방향)과 TD(직각방향) 물성 편차를 최소화하여 상온 인장강도가 300 내지 310MPa이고, 신율이 2.2 내지 2.5%로서 고인성 및 가공성의 물성 균형을 확인할 수 있었다.
이때, 폴리프탈아마이드계 수지를 미포함한 실시예 13의 경우에도, 리 섬유의 단면 형태 및 단면비에 따라 MD(흐름 방향)과 TD(직각방향) 물성 편차를 최소화하여 상온 인장강도가 300MPa이고, 신율이 2.3%로서 고인성 및 가공성의 물성 균형을 확인할 수 있었다.
반면, 원형 단면에 범용 유리섬유를 사용한 비교예 19의 경우, 유리섬유의 배향과 인장강도, 신율이 전반적으로 저하된 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
또한, 적절한 유리 섬유를 사용하더라도 글라스 비드를 비롯하여 부적절한 종류를 갖는 비교예 20 내지 22의 경우, 유리섬유의 배향과 인장강도가 불량하거나, 심지어 유리섬유의 배향이 적절함에도 불구하고 인장강도가 저하되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
결론적으로, 본 발명에 개시된 유리전이온도와 용융온도가 특정된 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지에 유리 섬유, 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지, 첨가제 등을 특정 조성으로 사용하여 보강하는 경우 유리섬유의 조성 및 형태 등을 제어함에 따라 수지의 가공성 및 비중과 강성의 물성 균형을 구현하여 자동차 경량 금속부품 대체 성형품에 적합함을 확인할 수 있었다.
Claims (16)
- 유리전이온도(Tg)가 50 내지 60 ℃이고 용융온도(Tm)가 240 내지 265 ℃인 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 20 내지 64 중량%;실리카 함량이 52 내지 66 중량%인 유리 섬유 36 내지 80 중량%; 및방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 0 내지 30 중량%;를 포함하고,표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 상온 인장강도가 270 MPa 이상인 열가소성 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지의 유리전이온도(Tg)를 a라 하고, 상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지의 유리전이온도(Tg)를 b라 하고, 상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지의 용융온도(Tm)를 c라 하고, 상기 유리 섬유에 포함된 실리카 함량을 d라 하면, 하기 수학식 1 내지 수학식 3를 만족하는 것을 특징으로 하는 열가소성 수지조성물.[수학식 1]4.8a ≤ c ≤ 5.3a[수학식 2]2d ≤ b ≤ 2.5d[수학식 3]a < b < c(상기 수학식들에서, a,b,c,d는 50≤a≤60, 106≤b≤150, 240≤c≤265, 52≤d≤66를 만족한다.)
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 유리 섬유는 실리카 52~66 중량%, 알루미나 12~21 중량%, 산화칼슘 0.5~24 중량%, 마그네시아 12 중량% 이하, 삼산화붕소 0~8 중량%, 이산화티탄 3 중량% 이하, Fe2O3 0~0.6 중량%, 산화붕소 0~8 중량%, F(불소) 0~0.7 중량%, 및 산화나트륨과 산화칼륨의 합량 0.8 중량% 이하를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 열가소성 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 유리섬유는 실리카 58~62 중량%, 알루미나 14~18 중량%, 산화칼슘 10~13 중량%, 마그네시아 8~10 중량%, 이산화티탄 0.5~2 중량%, 산화나트륨과 산화칼륨의 합량 0.8 중량% 이하, 및 Fe2O3 0.5 중량% 이하를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 열가소성 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 유리섬유는 실리카 52~56 중량%, 알루미나 12~16 중량%, 산화칼슘 20~24 중량%, 마그네시아 1.5 중량% 이하, 이산화티탄 1 중량% 이하, 산화나트륨과 산화칼륨의 합량 0.8 중량% 이하, Fe2O3 0.4 중량% 이하, 산화붕소 5~8 중량% 및 F(불소) 0.7 중량% 이하를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 열가소성 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 유리섬유는 산화칼슘과 마그네슘의 합량이 17~24 중량%인 원형 단면을 갖는 원형 유리섬유인 것을 특징으로 하는 열가소성 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 유리섬유는 산화칼슘과 마그네슘의 합량이 21~25 중량%인 비원형 단면을 갖는 플랫 유리섬유인 것을 특징으로 하는 열가소성 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 유리 섬유는 직경(D) 대비 길이(L)의 비(L/D)로 나타내는 종횡비가 1:1 내지 1:4이고, 여기서 직경(D)은 평균 직경이 6 내지 16 ㎛인 것을 특징으로 하는 열가소성 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 폴리헥사메틸렌 아디파미드 (PA66)이고, 상기 열가소성 수지 조성물 총 중량 기준으로 25 내지 60 중량%로 포함되는 것을 특징으로 하는 열가소성 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지는 폴리헥사메틸렌 이소프탈아미드(PA6I)이고, 상기 열가소성 수지 조성물 총 중량 기준으로 4~25 중량%로 포함되는 것을 특징으로 하는 열가소성 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은 난연제, 핵제, 열안정제, 광안정제, 활제, 산화방지제 및 증점제 중에서 선택된 1종 이상의 첨가제를, 상기 열가소성 수지 조성물 총 중량 기준으로 5 중량% 이하로 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 열가소성 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 상온 인장강도를 a라 하고 ISO 527에 의거한 표선구간 50mm에서의 신율을 b라 하고, ASTM D638 Type 1에 의거하여 두께가 3.2mm이고 폭이 12.7mm인 시편에서 5mm/min 속도로 측정한 유리섬유의 흐름방향(MD)과 직각방향(TD)간 차를 c라 할 때 a+b/c의 계산값이 2.88 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 열가소성 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 열가소성 수지 조성물은 표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 상온(23℃) 인장강도와 고온(90℃) 인장강도로부터 계산한 물성저하율(%)이 하기 식 1을 만족하는 것을 특징으로 하는 열가소성 수지 조성물.[식 1]34 ≤ 100 - (고온 측정값/상온 측정값 x 100) ≤ 44
- 유리전이온도(Tg)가 50 내지 60 ℃이고 용융온도(Tm)가 240 내지 265 ℃인 비방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 20 내지 64 중량%; 실리카 함량이 52 내지 66 중량%인 유리 섬유 36 내지 80 중량%; 및 방향족 폴리아마이드 수지 0 내지 30 중량%;를 용융 혼련 및 압출하는 단계;를 포함하며,표준측정 ISO 527에 의거한 상온 인장강도가 270 MPa 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 열가소성 수지 조성물의 제조방법.
- 제1항 내지 제13항 중 어느 한 항의 열가소성 수지 조성물로부터 제조된 성형품.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 성형품은 고강성 고인성 경량 자동차 부품인 것을 특징으로 하는 성형품.
