回転トルクを低減できるとともに、シール性に優れる軸シールを提供する。軸シール1は、回転軸6の外周面に密着して密封流体を封止する環状の軸シールであって、回転軸6と軸シール1を装着するハウジング7との隙間が、軸シール1によって高圧側と低圧側に区画され、軸シール1は、軸方向の断面視が略U字状の射出成形体であり、高圧側に延伸して回転軸6と摺動するシールリップ部2と、該シールリップ部2よりも外径側に設けられた外リップ部3とを備え、回転軸6の外周面に対するシールリップ部2の傾斜角度αが5°~20°であり、軸シール1の軸方向の断面視においてシールリップ部の長さL2が2.0mm~6.5mmである。
Description
本発明は、回転軸の軸シールに関し、特に、車載エアコンのスクロール式圧縮機の回転軸の軸シールに関する。
圧縮機には冷媒や冷凍機油の漏れを防止するシール部材が用いられている。例えば、固定スクロールと、該固定スクロールに対して旋回運動する可動スクロールとを組み合わせた圧縮機構部を備えるスクロール式圧縮機では、圧縮機構部を駆動する回転軸に軸シールが装着されている。
軸シールとして特許文献1、2のようなリップシールが開示されている。例えば、特許文献1のリップシールを図6に示す。図6に示すように、リップシール21は、駆動軸22の軸方向に沿う断面視で、駆動軸22の外周面に接触する内周シール部25、26、27を有する。さらに、リップシール21は、内周シール部25、26が軸穴23側への固定部28、29よりもハウジング24の駆動軸方向内部側に位置する第1シールリップL1および第2シールリップL2を備え、内周シール部27が軸穴23側への固定部30よりもハウジング24の駆動軸方向外部側に位置する第3シールリップL3を備えた構造になっている。第2シールリップL2と第3シールリップL3との間には潤滑油を保持可能な空間Sが形成されるため、この空間Sに保持された潤滑油によって第2シールリップL2と第3シールリップL3の摩耗が防止され、シール性が確保されている。特許文献1では、駆動軸22の外周面に対する第2シールリップL2の傾斜角度θは30°程度とされているが、θと回転トルクとの関係などについては検討されていない。
特許文献2のリップシールを図7に示す。図7に示すように、リップシール31は、ハウジング32と、回転軸33との間に装着され、第1シールエレメント34のシールリップ部35と、第2シールエレメント36のシールリップ部37によって、流体収納室Rの流体(冷媒および冷凍機油)が低圧側Aへリークするのを防止している。第1シールエレメント34は合成ゴムからなり、第2シールエレメント36はテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)樹脂などの合成樹脂からなる。回転軸の静止時には第1シールエレメント34のシールリップ部35が回転軸33に弾性的に接触して、流体の漏れを防止する。また、回転時には第1シールエレメント34からわずかに漏れた流体を第2シールエレメント36のシールリップ部37で密封する。特許文献2では、回転軸の外周面に対する第1シールエレメント35の傾斜角度については言及されていない。
一方、簡易な構造の軸シールとして、断面が略U字状の軸シールが知られている。例えば、特許文献3には、略U字状の軸シールとして、被装着用凹周溝に装着されて、内リップ部が回転軸に摺接する、底壁と内リップ部と外リップ部とからなるコ字状シールが開示されている。このコ字状シールでは、底壁の背面が凹周溝の内端面に密着する平坦面に形成され、かつ、底壁の両端コーナー部の外面角部を各々直角として、内面・外面に各々背面側から所定高さのストレート部を形成している。さらに、各ストレート部の終端から勾配部を形成して、内リップ部と外リップ部が相互に先端が離れる方向へ傾斜して突設されている。コ字状シールは、自由状態において勾配部が軸心に対して所定角度で傾斜している。
また、特許文献4には、スクロール式圧縮機に有用なシールリングが開示されている。該シールリングの形状としては、角リングやUシールリング(断面が略U字状の環状シール)が挙げられている。該シールリングは樹脂組成物の成形体であり、樹脂組成物として、ポリエーテルサルフォン100重量部に対して、層状結晶構造を有する化合物の粉末1重量部~7重量部、および未変性のポリテトラフルオロエチレン粉末8重量部~27重量部を含有する樹脂組成物が提案されている。また、この樹脂組成物には、エラストマーを含有してもよく、含有量が7.5質量%未満であると、耐摩耗性および破断伸びにより表される機械物性を損なわない範囲で、曲げ弾性率を低下させられるとしている。
また、特許文献5には、熱可塑性エラストマーおよび動的架橋樹脂の少なくとも1種からなる軟質樹脂と硬質樹脂を含有する混合物からなるシールリングが開示されている。
上記特許文献1、2では、回転軸の外周面に対するシールリップの傾斜角度、断面視におけるシールリップの長さを変えたとき、回転トルクやシール性がどのようになるか検討はされていない。また、上記特許文献1、2のリップシールは、環状の金属芯材と、樹脂またはゴムからなる複数のシールリップとで構成される複雑形状であり、高コストになるおそれがある。
一方、略U字状の軸シールについて、上記特許文献3には、勾配部の傾斜角度について言及されているものの、回転軸に装着した状態の回転軸の外周面に対するシールリップの傾斜角度については検討されていない。また、断面視におけるシールリップの長さを変えたとき、回転トルクやシール性がどのようになるかは検討されていない。特許文献4、5では、シールリップの具体的な断面形状に関して言及されていない。
本発明はこのような事情に鑑みてなされたものであり、断面が略U字状の軸シールにおいて、回転トルクを低減できるとともに、シール性に優れる軸シールを提供することを目的とする。
本発明の軸シールは、回転軸の外周面に密着して密封流体を封止する環状の軸シールであって、上記回転軸と上記軸シールを装着するハウジングとの隙間が、上記軸シールによって高圧側と低圧側に区画され、上記軸シールは、軸方向の断面視が略U字状の射出成形体であり、上記高圧側に延伸して上記回転軸と摺動するシールリップ部と、該シールリップ部よりも外径側に設けられた外リップ部とを備え、上記回転軸の外周面に対する上記シールリップ部の傾斜角度が5°~20°であり、上記軸シールの軸方向の断面視において上記シールリップ部の長さが2.0mm~6.5mmであることを特徴とする。本発明における「シールリップ部の傾斜角度」とは、軸シールを回転軸に装着した状態において、シールリップ部が回転軸の外周面に対して傾斜した角度をいう。
上記軸シールが樹脂組成物または熱可塑性エラストマー組成物からなることを特徴とする。
上記軸シールは、ASTM D790による曲げ弾性率が200MPa~2400MPaであることを特徴とする。
上記軸シールが樹脂組成物からなり、該樹脂組成物がエチレン-テトラフルオロエチレン共重合体(ETFE)樹脂またはテトラフルオロエチレン-パーフルオロアルコキシエチレン共重合体(PFA)樹脂を主成分として含むことを特徴とする。

上記軸シールが、固定スクロールと、該固定スクロールに対して旋回運動する可動スクロールとを組み合わせた圧縮機構を備えるスクロール式圧縮機に用いられ、上記回転軸が、上記圧縮機構を駆動する回転軸であることを特徴とする。

また、本発明の軸シールは、回転軸の外周面に密着して油を含有する密封流体を封止する環状の軸シールであって、上記軸シールは、軸方向の断面視が略U字状であり、軸方向一方側に延伸して上記回転軸と摺動するシールリップ部と、該シールリップ部よりも外径側に設けられた外リップ部とを備え、上記軸シールは、ポリエステル系エラストマーを主成分とする熱可塑性エラストマー組成物の成形体であり、ASTM D790による曲げ弾性率が200MPa~2400MPaであることを特徴とする。
本発明の軸シールは、軸方向の断面視が略U字状であり、高圧側に延伸して回転軸と摺動するシールリップ部と、該シールリップ部よりも外径側に設けられた外リップ部とを備え、回転軸の外周面に対するシールリップ部の傾斜角度が5°~20°であるので、回転軸に対する緊迫力を適度に発揮させることができ、回転トルクを低減できるとともに、シール性に優れる。さらに、軸シールの軸方向の断面視においてシールリップ部の長さが2.0mm~6.5mmであり、シールリップ部がある程度の長さを有するので、シールリップ部の回転軸に対する緊迫力が小さくなり、低トルク化に一層寄与する。
軸シールが樹脂組成物または熱可塑性エラストマー組成物からなるので、金属芯材などを必要とせず、経済性にも優れる。
軸シールは、ASTM D790による曲げ弾性率が200MPa~2400MPaであるので、軸シールの柔軟性が向上し、緊迫力を好適に低下させることができる。
軸シールがETFE樹脂またはPFA樹脂の溶融フッ素樹脂を主成分とする樹脂組成物からなるので、柔軟性に優れ、射出成形可能である。また、耐薬品性、耐油性に優れることから、冷媒や油などの流体と接触する環境に適している。
上記樹脂組成物が、該樹脂組成物100体積%に対して、炭素繊維、グラファイト、PTFE樹脂のうち少なくとも1種を1体積%~20体積%含むので、摩擦摩耗特性に優れる。また、使用する炭素繊維は平均繊維長20~200μmの短繊維であることから、長繊維を用いた場合に比べて溶融粘度の増加を抑制でき、射出成形によって容易に軸シールを得ることができる。
軸シールは、締め代(D-d)を回転軸の外径寸法Dで除した(D-d)/Dが上記数値範囲にあるので、シール性を損なうことなく、回転トルクを低減できる。
軸シールが、ポリエステル系エラストマーを主成分とする熱可塑性エラストマー組成物からなり、ポリエステル系エラストマーが、芳香族ポリエステル単位を含むハードセグメントと、ポリエステル単位またはポリエーテル単位を含むソフトセグメントとの共重合体であるので、柔軟性や成形性に優れる。さらに、芳香族ポリエステル単位中にナフタレン環を含むので、耐薬品性、耐油性を向上させることができ、油を含有する密封流体と接触する環境に適している。
熱可塑性エラストマー組成物が、該熱可塑性エラストマー組成物100体積%に対してPTFE樹脂を1体積%~40体積%含むので、伸び特性を維持しつつ、動摩擦係数を低減できる。
本発明の軸シールを適用した圧縮機について図1に基づいて説明する。図1は、軸シールを回転軸に装着した状態の軸方向断面図を示している。図1に示すように、軸シール1は、軸方向の断面視が略U字状の環状部材であり、軸方向一方側に延伸したシール内径側のシールリップ部2と、シールリップ部2よりもシール外径側に設けられた外リップ部3とを有する。シールリップ部2と外リップ部3はそれぞれ基端部4から延伸している。シールリップ部2と外リップ部3と基端部4によって、凹溝5が形成される。ハウジング7には、回転軸6が挿通される挿入孔7aが設けられており、挿入孔7aの周囲に環状溝8が設けられている。軸シール1は、この環状溝8に装着され、回転軸6が軸Oを中心に回転することで、シールリップ部2が回転軸6に摺動する。
図1において、軸シール1は、シールリップ部2と外リップ部3とがそれぞれ高圧側Hに延伸するように環状溝8に装着されている。この場合、凹溝5側が高圧側Hに相当し、基端部4の背面4a側が低圧側Lに相当する。装着した状態では、軸シール1の外リップ部3の先端部付近が環状溝8の側壁8aに接触し、シールリップ部2の先端部付近が回転軸6の外周面に接触する。また、基端部4の背面4aが環状溝8の底壁8bに密着する。一方、外リップ部3と側壁8aとの間、およびシールリップ部2と回転軸6との間にはそれぞれ空間が形成される。
本発明者らは、簡易な構造である略U字状の軸シール1について、1つの知見として、回転軸6の外周面に対するシールリップ部2の傾斜角度α、および断面視におけるシールリップのリップ長さL2を最適化することで、低トルク化、低リーク化が図れることを見出した。具体的には、図1の軸シール1は、シールリップ部2の傾斜角度αが5°~20°であり、シールリップ部2のリップ長さL2が2.0mm~6.5mmであることを特徴としている。傾斜角度αが5°未満であると、シールリップ部2と回転軸6が平行に近づくため、流体の漏れが発生しやすくなるおそれがある。一方、傾斜角度αが20°より大きくなるとシールリップ部2の回転軸6に対する緊迫力が高くなるため、回転トルクが大きくなるおそれがある。傾斜角度αは好ましくは10°~20°である。
また、リップ長さL2が2.0mmより短いと、シールリップ部2がたわみにくく緊迫力が高くなり、回転トルクが大きくなるおそれがある。一方、リップ長さL2が長くなると、軸シールを組み込むための空間が広くなることから、上限は、例えば8.0mmに設定される。リップ長さL2の好ましい範囲は4.2mm~6.5mmである。
軸シール1の各寸法について図2を参照して説明する。図2は、ハウジングに装着される前の状態(自由状態)の軸シールを示す。軸シール1において、シールリップ部2と外リップ部3は相互に先端部2a、3aが離れる方向へ傾斜して形成されている。本発明において、軸シール1の内径寸法dは、軸シール1の最小内径寸法をいう。内径寸法dは、図2では対向するシールリップ部2の先端部2a間の距離を示す。一方、軸シール1の最大内径寸法dmaxは、対向する基端部4間の最大距離、図2では背面4aの内縁間の距離である。なお、図2では、軸シール1の内周面は、背面4aから先端部2aにかけて連続的に縮径するように形成され、軸シール1の外周面は、背面4aから先端部3aにかけて連続的に拡径するように形成される。
シールリップ部2は、その外周面において所定のリップ長さL2を有している。リップ長さL2は、図2に示すように、軸シール1の底面4bの隅部(シールリップ部2側)からシールリップ部2の先端部2aの外径側の頂点までの直線の長さである。また、図2において、背面4aおよび底面4bは、軸シール1の軸心と直交する面と略平行な平坦面で形成されている。これにより、環状溝8の底壁8b(図1参照)に密着しやすくなる。なお、リップ長さL2は、軸シールの図2の自由状態と図1の装着状態とで同じ長さである。
また、外リップ部3は、その内周面において所定のリップ長さL3を有している。リップ長さL3は、図2に示すように、軸シール1の底面4bの隅部(外リップ部3側)から外リップ部3の先端部3aの内径側の頂点までの直線の長さである。なお、外リップ部3のリップ長さL3は、シールリップ部2のリップ長さL2よりも長いことが好ましい。
シールリップ部2の厚さt2は、0.3mm~1mmが好ましい。また、厚さt2が基端部側から先端部にかけて変化する場合は0.3mm~1mmの範囲で変化させることが好ましい。厚さt2が0.3mm未満であると、射出成形時にショートショットが起こりやすくなる。また、厚さt2が1mmを超えると、回転軸に対するシールリップ部2の緊迫力が高くなり、回転トルクが大きくなるおそれがある。厚さt2は0.3mm~0.6mmがより好ましい。また、別の観点では、図2に示すように、シールリップ部2の厚さt2が外リップ部3の厚さt3よりも小さいことが好ましい。厚さt2が厚さt3よりも大きいと、外リップ部3のハウジング7に対する緊迫力が、シールリップ部2の回転軸6に対する緊迫力より小さくなり、外リップ部3とハウジング7の側壁8aとの間で摺動が生じるおそれがある。
図1に戻り、軸シール1は、シールリップ部2が回転軸6の外周面に密着することで、高圧側Hの流体が低圧側Lへ漏れ出すことを防いでいる。流体は、冷媒、油、冷媒と油の混合物などが挙げられる。軸シールのシール性を確保するため、装着前の軸シール1の内径寸法d(図2参照)を、回転軸6の外径寸法Dよりも小さくする必要がある。すなわち、軸シール1を回転軸6に組み込む際に、軸シール1が締め代を持っている必要がある。
回転軸6を組み込む前の軸シール1の内径寸法d、回転軸6の外径寸法D、回転軸6の締め代(D-d)との関係は特に限定されないが、(D-d)/D=0.005~0.06を満たすことが好ましく、(D-d)/D=0.005~0.03を満たすことがより好ましく、(D-d)/D=0.01~0.02を満たすことがさらに好ましい。回転軸6の外径寸法Dと、回転軸6に接触するシールリップ部の先端部における締め代(D-d)との寸法比を所定の範囲に設定することで、シール性を損なうことなく、回転トルクをより低減できる。
また、回転トルクの低減を図るため、図1に示すように、シールリップ部2と回転軸6との間には空間が形成されることが好ましい。この場合、装着状態において基端部4は回転軸6に接触していない。また、寸法の関係で言えば、D<dmax(図2参照)であることが好ましい。
回転軸6の外径寸法Dの大きさは特に限定されないが、例えば10mm~50mm程度である。また、締め代(D-d)の大きさは特に限定されないが、例えば0.1mm~3mm程度である。
なお、本発明の軸シールは、図1の形態に限らない。例えば、図1ではシールリップ部2を直線状に形成したが、シールリップ部を、図3に示すように湾曲した形状としてもよい。図3の場合、傾斜角度αは、シールリップ部2と回転軸6との接点におけるシールリップ部2の接線(破線で示す)と、回転軸6の外周面とのなす角である。シールリップ部2のリップ長さL2は、図2で説明した直線の長さである。また、軸シールに、シールリップ部と外リップ部以外のリップ部(例えば、回転軸と摺動するダストリップなど)を設けてもよい。
図1の圧縮機において、ハウジング7の高圧側Hには圧縮機構部が設けられる。圧縮機構部の形態は、回転軸の回転によって流体の圧縮が行われる機構であればよく、スクロール式や斜板式などを採用できる。例えば、スクロール式の場合、圧縮機構部は、固定スクロールと、該固定スクロールに対して旋回運動する可動スクロールとを組み合わせて構成される。
図4には、スクロール式の圧縮機構部の一部断面図を示す。図4に示すように、圧縮機構部9は、基板11aとその表面に直立する固定側スクロール翼11bを有する固定ロータ11と、基板12aとその表面に直立する可動側スクロール翼12bを有する可動ロータ12とを備えている。固定ロータ11と可動ロータ12が相互に偏心状態にかみ合わされて、それらの間に圧縮室10が形成されている。可動ロータ12は、上述の回転軸に直接的または間接的に接続されており、可動ロータ12が固定ロータ11の軸線の周りで公転することにより、圧縮室10が渦巻形状の中心側に移動して流体の圧縮が行なわれる。圧縮された圧縮流体は、可動ロータ12の中心部の吐出口13を通って吐出管から吐出され、冷凍サイクルに流出する。そして、冷凍サイクルの流体(冷媒ガスなど)が吸入口(図示省略)を介して圧縮室10へ導入される。
本発明の軸シールは、射出成形体であり、樹脂組成物または熱可塑性エラストマー組成物からなる。この射出成形体は、ASTM D790に準拠して測定される曲げ弾性率が200MPa~2400MPaであることが好ましい。曲げ弾性率が200MPa未満であると摩耗しやすくなりシール性が低下するおそれがある。また、曲げ弾性率が2400MPaを超えると、軸シールの回転軸に対する緊迫力が高くなり、高トルクになるおそれがある。本発明の軸シールを形成する樹脂組成物のASTM D790に準拠して測定される曲げ弾性率は、好ましくは200MPa~1800MPaであり、より好ましくは400MPa~1800MPaである。
以下には、まず軸シールが樹脂組成物の成形体の場合について説明する。
樹脂組成物において、主成分となる樹脂(ベース樹脂)は限定されるものではなく、ポリアミド(PA)樹脂、ポリフェニレンサルファイド(PPS)樹脂、ポリエーテルエーテルケトン(PEEK)樹脂、ポリアミドイミド(PAI)樹脂、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)樹脂、テトラフルオロエチレン-パーフルオロアルコキシエチレン共重合体(PFA)樹脂、テトラフルオロエチレン-ヘキサフルオロプロピレン共重合体(FEP)樹脂、エチレン-テトラフルオロエチレン共重合体(ETFE)樹脂、ポリビニリデンフルオライド樹脂、液晶ポリマー、ポリエーテルスルホン樹脂、ポリスルホン樹脂、ポリフェニルスルホン樹脂、ポリアリレート樹脂、ポリエーテルイミド樹脂、ポリイミド樹脂、ポリエステル樹脂などを用いることができる。
上記樹脂の中でも、耐熱性や、耐薬品性、柔軟性に優れ、かつ、射出成形可能な樹脂である、PA樹脂、PFA樹脂、FEP樹脂、ETFE樹脂、ポリビニリデンフルオライド樹脂を用いることが好ましい。これらの樹脂は、耐薬品性、耐油性に優れるため、例えば、冷媒や冷凍機油が混在する流体存在下で使用される圧縮機の回転軸の軸シールに好適である。特に、ETFE樹脂またはPFA樹脂を用いることがより好ましい。柔軟性に優れるETFE樹脂またはPFA樹脂を主成分とした樹脂組成物とすることで、締め代をある程度確保しても、装着時に破損することを防止しやすくなる。また、締め代をある程度確保することで、軸シール1の使用によってシールリップ部が摩耗したとしても、密封性を維持することができる。
軸シールにおいて、ETFE樹脂をベース樹脂とする場合、樹脂組成物のASTM D3159によるメルトフローレート(MFR)が10~50g/10minであることが好ましく、30~50g/10minであることがより好ましい。また、PFA樹脂をベース樹脂とする場合、樹脂組成物のASTM D3307によるMFRが10~80g/10minであることが好ましく、30~50g/10minであることがより好ましい。MFRが高いほど樹脂組成物の溶融粘度が低く、射出成形によるシールリップ部の形成が容易となる。
ETFE樹脂は、下記式(1)で示す化学構造を有しており、共重合比は特に限定されるものではない。本発明に用いることのできるETFE樹脂の市販品としては、AGC株式会社製:フルオンC-88AP、C-88AXMPなどが挙げられる。
ETFE樹脂をベース樹脂とする場合、樹脂組成物100体積%に対して、ETFE樹脂は70体積%以上含まれることが好ましく、80体積%以上含まれることがより好ましく、90体積%以上含まれることが特に好ましい。
PFA樹脂は、下記式(2)で示す化学構造を有しており、共重合比は特に限定されるものではない。式(2)において、Rfはパーフルオロアルキル基である。本発明に用いることのできるPFA樹脂の市販品としては、AGC株式会社製:フルオンP-62XP、ダイキン工業株式会社製:ネオフロンAP-210、AP-202、三井・ケマーズ・フロロプロダクツ株式会社製:テフロン(登録商標)440HP-J、420HP-J、411HP-J、スリーエムジャパン株式会社製:ダイニオンPFA6515 TZ、PFA6525 TZなどが挙げられる。
PFA樹脂をベース樹脂とする場合、樹脂組成物100体積%に対して、PFA樹脂は70体積%以上含まれることが好ましく、80体積%以上含まれることがより好ましく、90体積%以上含まれることが特に好ましい。
本発明に用いる樹脂組成物には、樹脂組成物100体積%に対して、炭素繊維、グラファイト、PTFE樹脂のうち少なくとも1種が1体積%~20体積%含まれることが好ましく、1体積%~10体積%含まれることがより好ましい。例えば、炭素繊維を1体積%以上配合することで、摩耗量、圧力による変形を低減しやすくなる。また、グラファイトやPTFE樹脂は固体潤滑剤であり、これらを1体積%以上配合することで、樹脂組成物の成形体の動摩擦係数を低減しやすくなる。炭素繊維、グラファイト、PTFE樹脂は単独で用いてもよく、2種類以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。樹脂組成物のさらに好ましい形態として、樹脂組成物100体積%に対して、炭素繊維、グラファイト、PTFE樹脂が、合計で1体積%~20体積%(より好ましくは1体積%~10体積%)含まれる。
炭素繊維を配合する場合、原材料から分類されるピッチ系またはPAN系のいずれのものであってもよい。焼成温度は限定されるものではなく、2000℃またはそれ以上の高温で焼成されて黒鉛化品、1000~1500℃程度で焼成された炭化品のどちらであってもよい。繊維径は限定されるものではないが、平均繊維径5~20μm程度の炭素繊維を用いることができる。また、ミルドファイバーまたはチョップドファイバーのいずれのものであってもよいが、短繊維であることから樹脂組成物のMFRを増加させにくいミルドファイバーがより好ましい。ミルドファイバーの平均繊維長は20~200μmであることが特に好ましい。平均繊維長の測定方法としては、走査型電子顕微鏡(SEM)により得られたSEM画像を用いて測定する方法などが挙げられる。
本発明に使用できる市販品のミルドファイバーとしては、ピッチ系炭素繊維として、株式会社クレハ製:クレカ M-101S、M-101F、M-201Sなどが挙げられる。また、PAN系炭素繊維として、帝人株式会社製:HT M800 160MU、HT M100 40MU、東レ株式会社製:トレカ MLD-30、MLD-300などが挙げられる。
グラファイトとしては、天然黒鉛、人造黒鉛のどちらを用いてもよい。天然黒鉛としては、日本黒鉛工業株式会社製:ACP、人造黒鉛としては日本黒鉛工業株式会社製:CGB-10、CGB-20、CGB-50、イメリス・ジーシー・ジャパン株式会社製:KS-6、KS-25、KS-44などが挙げられる。
PTFE樹脂として、懸濁重合法によるモールディングパウダー、乳化重合法によるファインパウダー、再生PTFEのいずれを採用してもよい。樹脂組成物の流動性を安定させるためには、射出成形時のせん断により繊維化しにくく、MFRを低下させにくい再生PTFEを採用することが好ましい。再生PTFEとは、熱処理(熱履歴が加わったもの)粉末、γ線または電子線などを照射した粉末のことである。例えば、モールディングパウダーまたはファインパウダーを熱処理した粉末、また、この粉末をさらにγ線または電子線を照射した粉末、モールディングパウダーまたはファインパウダーの成形体を粉砕した粉末、また、その後γ線または電子線を照射した粉末、モールディングパウダーまたはファインパウダーをγ線または電子線を照射した粉末などのタイプがある。
本発明に使用できる市販品のPTFE樹脂としては、株式会社喜多村製:KTL-610、KTL-450、KTL-350、KTL-8N、KT-400H、三井・ケマーズ・フロロプロダクツ株式会社製:テフロン(登録商標)7-J、TLP-10、AGC株式会社製:フルオンG163、L150J、L169J、L170J、L172J、L173J、ダイキン工業株式会社製:ポリフロンM-15、ルブロンL-5、スリーエムジャパン株式会社製:ダイニオンTF9205、TF9207などが挙げられる。また、パーフルオロアルキルエーテル基、フルオルアルキル基、またはその他のフルオロアルキルを有する側鎖基で変性されたPTFE樹脂であってもよい。上記の中でγ線または電子線などを照射したPTFE樹脂としては、株式会社喜多村製:KTL-610、KTL-450、KTL-350、KTL-8N、AGC株式会社製:フルオンL169J、L170J、L172J、L173Jなどが挙げられる。
なお、上記樹脂組成物には、本発明の効果を阻害しない程度に、アラミド繊維などの繊維状補強材、球状シリカなどの球状充填材、マイカなどの鱗状補強材、リン酸カルシウム、硫酸カルシウムなどの摺動補強材、チタン酸カリウムウィスカなどの微小繊維補強材を用いても良い。カーボンブラック、酸化鉄などの着色剤も配合できる。これらは単独で配合することも、組み合せて配合することもできる。
また、樹脂組成物の弾性率を下げる目的でエラストマーを配合してもよい。エラストマーとしてはフッ素ゴムが好適である。フッ素ゴムの種類は限定されるものではないが、フッ化ビニリデン系(FKM)、テトラフルオロエチレン-プロピレン系(FEPM)、テトラフルオロエチレン-パーフルオロビニルエーテル系(FFKM)を使用することができる。FKMは2元系、3元系のどちらであってもよい。
以上を考慮して、樹脂組成物からなる軸シールの特に好ましい形態は、樹脂組成物100体積%に対して、ETFE樹脂またはPFA樹脂が90体積%以上含まれ、かつ、炭素繊維、グラファイト、およびPTFE樹脂の少なくとも1種が合計で1体積%~10体積%含まれ、軸シールのASTM D790による曲げ弾性率が200MPa~1800MPaである。
次に、軸シールが熱可塑性エラストマー組成物の成形体の場合について説明する。
熱可塑性エラストマー組成物において、主成分となるエラストマーは限定されるものではなく、ポリオレフィン系エラストマー、ポリエステル系エラストマー、ポリアミド系エラストマーなどを用いることができる。耐熱性、耐薬品性の点から、ポリエステル系エラストマーが特に好ましい。ポリエステル系エラストマーは、ハードセグメントとソフトセグメントを含み、ハードセグメントにポリエステル単位、ソフトセグメントにポリエーテル単位またはポリエステル単位が用いられる。ポリエステル系エラストマーは、ポリエステル-ポリエーテル型またはポリエステル-ポリエステル型のマルチブロック共重合体である。
ハードセグメントのポリエステル単位は、主として芳香族ポリエステル単位からなることが好ましい。芳香族ポリエステル単位は、通常、芳香族ジカルボン酸成分と、ジオール成分を重合成分とするポリエステル単位である。
芳香族ジカルボン酸成分としては、例えば、芳香族ジカルボン酸、またはそのエステル誘導体を用いることができる。芳香族ジカルボン酸としては、テレフタル酸、イソフタル酸、フタル酸、ナフタレンジカルボン酸(例えば、ナフタレン-2,6-ジカルボン酸、ナフタレン-2,7-ジカルボン酸)、4,4'-ジフェニルジカルボン酸、4,4'-ジフェニルエーテルジカルボン酸などが挙げられる。芳香族ジカルボン酸のエステル誘導体としては、例えば、上記芳香族ジカルボン酸のアルキルエステル(メチルエステル、エチルエステルなど)、アリールエステル、炭酸エステルなどが挙げられる。芳香族ジカルボン酸成分は、1種単独で使用してもよく、2種以上を使用してもよい。
上記芳香族ジカルボン酸成分以外にも、シクロヘキサンジカルボン酸などの脂環式ジカルボン酸、アジピン酸、アゼライン酸などの脂肪族ジカルボン酸、それらのエステル誘導体を他の共重合成分として使用してもよい。
芳香族ジカルボン酸成分の総量は、全酸成分の総モル数(100モル%)に対して、80モル%以上とすることが好ましく、90モル%以上とすることがより好ましい。また、実質的に芳香族ジカルボン酸成分のみから構成し、他の共重合成分(芳香族ジカルボン酸成分以外の酸成分)を実質的に含まないことが特に好ましい。
ジオール成分としては、例えば、ジオール、またはそのエステル誘導体を用いることができる。ジオールとしては、例えば、エチレングリコール、1,4-ブタンジオール、1,6-ヘキサンジオールなどの脂肪族ジオール、1,4-シクロヘキサンジオール、1,4-シクロヘキサンジメタノールなどの脂環式ジオールなどが挙げられる。ジオールのエステル誘導体としては、例えば、上記ジオールのアセチル体などが挙げられる。ジオール成分は、1種単独で使用してもよく、2種以上を使用してもよい。
ハードセグメントにおいて、芳香族ポリエステル単位中にナフタレン環を含むことが好ましい。ナフタレン環を含む構成単位としては、特に、ポリブチレンナフタレート単位がより好ましい。ポリブチレンナフタレート単位は、例えば、芳香族ジカルボン酸成分にナフタレン-2,6-ジカルボン酸を用い、ジオール成分に1,4-ブタンジオールを用いることで得られる。ポリブチレンナフタレート単位を有する芳香族ポリエステル単位は、ポリブチレンナフタレート単位のみで形成されてもよく、また、その他の構成単位(例えばポリブチレンイソフタレート単位)を含んで形成されていてもよい。
ソフトセグメントのポリエーテル単位は、例えば、脂肪族ポリエーテル単位を含む。脂肪族ポリエーテル単位としては、ポリ(エチレンオキシド)グリコール単位、ポリ(プロピレンオキシド)グリコール単位、ポリ(テトラメチレンオキシド)グリコール単位、ポリ(ヘキサメチレンオキシド)グリコール単位、エチレンオキシドとプロピレンオキシドの共重合体などが挙げられる。これらの構成単位は1種単独で含まれていてもよく、2種以上が含まれていてもよい。
ソフトセグメントのポリエステル単位は、例えば、脂肪族ポリエステル単位を含む。脂肪族ポリエステル単位としては、ポリ(ε-カプロラクトン)単位、ポリエナントラクトン単位、ポリカプリロラクトン単位、ポリブチレンアジペート単位、ポリエチレンアジペート単位などが挙げられる。これらの構成単位は1種単独で含まれていてもよく、2種以上が含まれていてもよい。
ポリエステル系エラストマーの好適な市販品として、例えばペルプレンENタイプ(東洋紡社製)などが挙げられる。ペルプレンENタイプは、下記式(3)で示す化学構造を有しており、下記式(4)にハードセグメントを示し、下記式(5)にソフトセグメントを示す。下記式(3)に示すように、ハードセグメントの構成単位とソフトセグメントの構成単位は、エステル結合やカーボネート結合で結合されている。ペルプレンENタイプにおいて、ハードセグメントは芳香族ポリエステル単位のみからなり、より具体的にはポリブチレンナフタレート単位のみからなっている。ペルプレンENタイプの具体的なグレードとして、EN-1000、EN-2000、EN-3000、EN-5000、EN-16000などが挙げられる。各グレードは、ハードセグメントとソフトセグメントの比率が異なっており、後述の実施例で示すように物性(曲げ弾性率など)が異なっている。
ペルプレンENタイプのように、分子中にナフタレン環を含む芳香族ポリエステルからなるハードセグメントを用いると、ナフタレン環を含まない場合に比べて、ポリエステル系エラストマーの耐薬品性、耐油性を向上させることができる。そのため、冷媒や冷凍機油が混在する流体存在下で使用される圧縮機の回転軸の軸シールに好適である。
ポリエステル系エラストマーにおいて、共重合におけるハードセグメントとソフトセグメントの割合は特に限定されないが、ハードセグメントの割合が増えると弾性率が高くなるため、熱可塑性樹脂エラストマー組成物の曲げ弾性率が200MPa~2400MPaの範囲になるように調整されることが好ましい。なお、成形体の曲げ弾性率を所望の範囲としやすいことから、ポリエステル系エラストマーには、曲げ弾性率(ASTM D790)150MPa~1700MPaのエラストマーを用いることが好ましい。
主成分となるエラストマー(例えばポリエステル系エラストマー)は、熱可塑性エラストマー組成物100体積%に対して60体積%以上含まれることが好ましく、80体積%以上含まれることがより好ましく、90体積%以上含まれることがさらに好ましい。
本発明に用いる熱可塑性エラストマー組成物には、摩擦摩耗特性を向上させる目的で、PTFE樹脂、グラファイト、二硫化モリブデンなどの固体潤滑剤を配合することが好ましい。具体的には、熱可塑性エラストマー組成物100体積%に対して、固体潤滑剤が1体積%~40体積%含まれることが好ましい。固体潤滑剤を1体積%以上配合することで、熱可塑性エラストマー組成物の成形体の動摩擦係数を低減できる。一方、固体潤滑剤の含有量が40体積%を超えると、熱可塑性エラストマー組成物の伸び特性が低下し、軸シールを回転軸に組み込む際に割れが発生するおそれがある。固体潤滑剤は、熱可塑性エラストマー組成物100体積%に対して1体積%~20体積%含まれることがより好ましく、1体積%~10体積%含まれることがさらに好ましい。また、固体潤滑剤としてPTFE樹脂を用いることが好ましい。なお、PTFE樹脂やグラファイトは、上記樹脂組成物で説明したものを用いることができる。
また、本発明の効果を阻害しない程度に、熱可塑性エラストマー組成物に、炭素繊維、ガラス繊維、アラミド繊維などの繊維状補強材、球状シリカなどの球状充てん剤、マイカなどの鱗状補強材、リン酸カルシウム、硫酸カルシウムなどの摺動補強材、チタン酸カリウムウィスカなどの微小繊維補強材を用いてもよい。カーボンブラック、酸化鉄などの着色剤も配合できる。これらは単独で配合することも、組み合せて配合することもできる。
炭素繊維を配合する場合、熱可塑性エラストマー組成物100体積%に対して、5体積%~20体積%配合されることが好ましい。なお、炭素繊維は、上記樹脂組成物で説明したものを用いることができる。
以上を考慮して、熱可塑性エラストマー組成物からなる軸シールの特に好ましい形態は、ポリエステル系エラストマーにPTFE樹脂が配合された熱可塑性エラストマー組成物の成形体であって、上記ポリエステル系エラストマーが、ポリブチレンナフタレート単位を含むハードセグメントと脂肪族ポリエーテル単位を含むソフトセグメントとの共重合体であり、上記熱可塑性エラストマー組成物100体積%に対して上記PTFE樹脂が1体積%~10体積%含まれ、軸シールのASTM D790による曲げ弾性率が200MPa~1800MPaである。
本発明の軸シールは、車載エアコンのスクロール式圧縮機に用いることができる。スクロール式圧縮機は、エンジン動力を利用したベルト駆動、エンジン動力を利用しないモータ駆動のどちらであってもよい。また、本発明の軸シールは、圧縮機に限らず用いることができる。
本発明の軸シールは一般的な熱可塑性樹脂用の射出成形機を用い、射出成形によって成形される。上記樹脂組成物または上記熱可塑性エラストマー組成物を構成する各材料を、必要に応じて、ヘンシェルミキサー、ボールミキサー、リボンブレンダーなどにて混合した後、二軸混練押出し機などの溶融押出し機にて溶融混練し、成形用ペレットを得ることができる。なお、充填材の投入は、二軸押出し機などで溶融混練する際にサイドフィードを採用してもよい。この成形用ペレットを用いて射出成形により軸シールを成形する。なお、樹脂組成物のベース樹脂にPFA樹脂を用いる場合、耐腐食性仕様の射出成形機、二軸混練押出し機を用いることが好ましい。
本発明の軸シールは、上記図1~図3の形態に限定されない。上記図1~図3の軸シール1、1’は、シールリップ部2の傾斜角度αが5°~20°であり、シールリップ部2のリップ長さL2が2.0mm~6.5mmである(形態Aという)が、軸シールが下記の形態Bまたは形態Cである場合には、傾斜角度αおよびリップ長さL2の数値範囲を満たさなくてもよい。
形態Bの軸シールは、回転軸の外周面に密着して密封流体を封止する環状の軸シールであって、上記回転軸と上記軸シールを装着するハウジングとの隙間が、上記軸シールによって高圧側と低圧側に区画され、上記軸シールは、軸方向の断面視が略U字状であり、上記高圧側に延伸して上記回転軸と摺動するシールリップ部と、該シールリップ部よりも外径側に設けられた外リップ部とを備え、上記軸シールは、ETFE樹脂またはPFA樹脂を主成分とした樹脂組成物の成形体であり、上記回転軸を組み込む前の上記軸シールの内径寸法をd、上記回転軸の外径寸法をD、上記軸シールと上記回転軸との締め代を(D-d)とすると、(D-d)/D=0.005~0.06を満たすことを特徴とする。
形態Bの軸シールは、ETFE樹脂またはPFA樹脂を主成分とした樹脂組成物の成形体であり、締め代(D-d)を回転軸の外径寸法Dで除した(D-d)/Dが上記範囲にあることにより、シール性を損なうことなく、回転トルクを低減できる。また、軸シールがETFE樹脂またはPFA樹脂の溶融フッ素樹脂を主成分とする樹脂組成物からなるので、柔軟性に優れ、射出成形可能である。また、耐薬品性、耐油性に優れることから、冷媒や油などの流体と接触する環境に適している。
形態Cの軸シールは、回転軸の外周面に密着して油を含有する密封流体を封止する環状の軸シールであって、上記軸シールは、軸方向の断面視が略U字状であり、軸方向一方側に延伸して上記回転軸と摺動するシールリップ部と、該シールリップ部よりも外径側に設けられた外リップ部とを備え、上記軸シールは、ポリエステル系エラストマーを主成分とする熱可塑性エラストマー組成物の成形体であり、ASTM D790による曲げ弾性率が200MPa~2400MPaであることを特徴とする。
形態Cの軸シールは、軸方向の断面視が略U字状であり、軸方向一方側に延伸して回転軸と摺動するシールリップ部と、該シールリップ部よりも外径側に設けられた外リップ部とを備え、ポリエステル系エラストマーを主成分とする熱可塑性エラストマー組成物の成形体であり、ASTM D790による曲げ弾性率が200MPa~2400MPaであるので、回転トルクを低減できるとともに、シール性に優れる軸シールが得られる。
<試験例A>
試験例A1~A11
固体潤滑剤のPTFE樹脂(50%粒子径:20μm)を20体積%含有し、残部がポリアミド66樹脂(粘度数:150ml/g)である樹脂組成物を二軸混練押出し機で作製し、ペレット化した。なお、粘度数の測定は、ISO 307に準拠して、硫酸溶液を使用して得た。得られたペレットを用いて射出成形により、軸シールを得た。軸シールは図1に示す形状とし、表1に示すように、傾斜角度α、シールリップ部のリップ長さL2が異なる11種類の軸シール(内径寸法d19.88mm)を作製した。なお、これら軸シールを形成する樹脂組成物のASTM D790に準拠して測定される曲げ弾性率は2200MPaであった。
試験例A1~A11

図5に示すように、試験機14のハウジングは、外周側ハウジング17と内周側ハウジング18とを組み付けて構成される。これらハウジングの合わせ面において、内周側ハウジング18の外周溝にはOリング19が配置されており、合わせ面から冷凍機油が漏れることを防止している。軸シール15は回転軸16に密着しており、回転軸16の回転によって回転軸16の外周面と摺接する。冷凍機油を圧送して、ハウジング内空間に供給した。冷凍機油は、図5に示すように、流入路17bから流入し、ハウジング内空間を経て、流出路17cから流出する。オイルリーク量は、回転軸16と挿通孔17aとの間から漏れ出た冷凍機油の量に基づいており、試験開始後50~60分間の平均値を示している。また、回転トルクは、試験開始後50~60分間の平均値を示している。結果を表1に示す。
表1に示すように、傾斜角度α=20°の結果を比較すると、リップ長さL2=2.2mm~6.5mmの場合(試験例A1~A5)は、回転トルクが0.07~0.11N・mと低トルクであったのに対して、リップ長さL2=1.2mmの場合(試験例A8)は、回転トルクが0.16N・mであり、比較的高トルクとなった。傾斜角度αの検討において、α=3°(試験例A10)ではオイルリーク量の大幅な増加が見られた。また、α=30°、45°(試験例A9、A11)では回転トルクが0.15N・m、0.17N・mであり、傾斜角度αが大きくなるにつれて、回転トルクの上昇が見られた。一方、α=5°、10°(試験例A6~A7)では、低トルクかつ低リークを示した。

図5に示す回転トルク試験機を用いて、上述の試験条件で回転トルク試験を実施して、回転トルクおよびオイルリーク量を測定した。回転トルク試験機の回転軸と軸シールの各寸法は、回転軸の外径寸法D=20.5mm、軸シールの内径寸法d=20mm、締め代(D-d)=0.5mm、(D-d)/D=0.024とした。また、傾斜角度α=5°、リップ長さL2=3.5mmとした。
表2に示すように、試験例B1~B6の軸シールは、曲げ弾性率が200MPa~2400MPaの範囲に属しており、低トルクかつ低オイルリーク性を示した。一方、試験例B7の軸シールは、曲げ弾性率が比較的高く(曲げ弾性率3330MPa)、回転トルクが0.20N・mと比較的高トルクを示した。表2の結果より、曲げ弾性率の大小と回転トルクの大小とで、大まかな相関がみられた。
試験例B8~B11
試験例B2と同一の樹脂組成物(ETFE樹脂:94体積%、炭素繊維:3体積%、PTFE樹脂:3体積%)からなる軸シールを用い、4種類の締め代設定で回転トルクおよびシール性を評価した。なお、回転トルク試験の試験条件は上述の試験条件と同じである。
試験例B2と同一の樹脂組成物(ETFE樹脂:94体積%、炭素繊維:3体積%、PTFE樹脂:3体積%)からなる軸シールを用い、4種類の締め代設定で回転トルクおよびシール性を評価した。なお、回転トルク試験の試験条件は上述の試験条件と同じである。
表3に示すように、寸法比(D-d)/Dの検討において、(D-d)/Dが小さくなるとオイルリーク量が増加し(試験例B10)、(D-d)/Dが大きくなるとトルクの上昇が見られた(試験例B11)。表3より、(D-d)/D=0.05~0.005では、低トルクかつ低リークを示した(試験例B8、B9)。

次に、軸シールとして、熱可塑性エラストマー組成物の射出成形体を用いた場合の回転トルクおよびシール性を評価した。

図5に示す回転トルク試験機を用いて、上述の試験条件で回転トルク試験を実施して、回転トルクおよびオイルリーク量を測定した。回転トルク試験機の回転軸と軸シールの各寸法は、軸シールの外径寸法=40mm、軸シールの内径寸法d=20mm、締め代(D-d)=0.3mmとした。
表4に示すように、試験例C1~C5の軸シールは、曲げ弾性率が200MPa~2400MPaの範囲に属しており、低トルクかつ低オイルリーク性を示した。試験例C6の軸シールは、曲げ弾性率が比較的低く(曲げ弾性率111MPa)、オイルリーク量が10ml/minであり、試験例C1~C5に比べて劣る結果であった。試験例C7の軸シールは、PTFE樹脂の配合割合が45体積%と高く、破断伸びが小さく、回転軸への組み込み時に破損が生じた。試験例C8の軸シールは、曲げ弾性率が比較的高く(曲げ弾性率3937MPa)、回転トルクが0.19N・mと比較的高トルクを示した。
上記のように、本発明では、1つの形態として、回転軸の外周面に対するシールリップの傾斜角度およびリップ長さを最適化することで、低トルク化、低リーク化を図っている。また、他の形態として、樹脂組成物の組成および締め代設定を最適化することで、低トルク化、低リーク化を図っている。さらに、他の形態として、熱可塑性エラストマー組成物の組成および曲げ弾性率を最適化することで、低トルク化、低リーク化を図っている。上記各形態は、好ましい構成と適宜組み合わせることにより、更なる低トルク化、低リーク化を図ることができる。
本発明の軸シールは、回転トルクを低減できるとともに、シール性に優れるので、回転軸の外周面に摺接しながら密封流体を封止する軸シールとして広く使用できる。特に、車載エアコンのスクロール式冷媒圧縮機の圧縮機構部を回転させる回転軸の軸シールに適している。

- 回転軸の外周面に密着して密封流体を封止する環状の軸シールであって、
前記回転軸と前記軸シールを装着するハウジングとの隙間が、前記軸シールによって高圧側と低圧側に区画され、
前記軸シールは、軸方向の断面視が略U字状の射出成形体であり、前記高圧側に延伸して前記回転軸と摺動するシールリップ部と、該シールリップ部よりも外径側に設けられた外リップ部とを備え、

- 前記樹脂組成物が前記炭素繊維を含み、該炭素繊維の平均繊維長が20μm~200μmであることを特徴とする請求項5記載の軸シール。
- 前記軸シールが熱可塑性エラストマー組成物からなり、該熱可塑性エラストマー組成物がポリエステル系エラストマーを主成分とし、
前記ポリエステル系エラストマーが、芳香族ポリエステル単位を含むハードセグメントと、ポリエステル単位またはポリエーテル単位を含むソフトセグメントとの共重合体であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の軸シール。 - 前記芳香族ポリエステル単位中にナフタレン環を含むことを特徴とする請求項7記載の軸シール。
- 前記熱可塑性エラストマー組成物が、該熱可塑性エラストマー組成物100体積%に対してポリテトラフルオロエチレン樹脂を1体積%~40体積%含むことを特徴とする請求項7記載の軸シール。
- 前記軸シールは、前記回転軸を組み込む前の前記軸シールの内径寸法をd、前記回転軸の外径寸法をD、前記軸シールと前記回転軸との締め代を(D-d)とすると、(D-d)/D=0.005~0.06を満たすことを特徴とする請求項1記載の軸シール。
- 前記軸シールが、固定スクロールと、該固定スクロールに対して旋回運動する可動スクロールとを組み合わせた圧縮機構を備えるスクロール式圧縮機に用いられ、前記回転軸が、前記圧縮機構を駆動する回転軸であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の軸シール。
- 前記スクロール式圧縮機が、車載エアコンのスクロール式圧縮機であることを特徴とする請求項11記載の軸シール。
- 前記密封流体が、油を含有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の軸シール。
- 回転軸の外周面に密着して密封流体を封止する環状の軸シールであって、
前記回転軸と前記軸シールを装着するハウジングとの隙間が、前記軸シールによって高圧側と低圧側に区画され、
前記軸シールは、軸方向の断面視が略U字状であり、前記高圧側に延伸して前記回転軸と摺動するシールリップ部と、該シールリップ部よりも外径側に設けられた外リップ部とを備え、
前記軸シールは、エチレン-テトラフルオロエチレン共重合体樹脂またはテトラフルオロエチレン-パーフルオロアルコキシエチレン共重合体樹脂を主成分とした樹脂組成物の成形体であり、
前記回転軸を組み込む前の前記軸シールの内径寸法をd、前記回転軸の外径寸法をD、前記軸シールと前記回転軸との締め代を(D-d)とすると、(D-d)/D=0.005~0.06を満たすことを特徴とする軸シール。 - 回転軸の外周面に密着して油を含有する密封流体を封止する環状の軸シールであって、
前記軸シールは、軸方向の断面視が略U字状であり、軸方向一方側に延伸して前記回転軸と摺動するシールリップ部と、該シールリップ部よりも外径側に設けられた外リップ部とを備え、
前記軸シールは、ポリエステル系エラストマーを主成分とする熱可塑性エラストマー組成物の成形体であり、ASTM D790による曲げ弾性率が200MPa~2400MPaであることを特徴とする軸シール。
