- the conductive material of the present technology includes a plurality of conductive particles that are primary particles supported by each of a plurality of conductive supports including a carbon material. Since the plurality of conductive particles include the lithium phosphate compound described above and have the above-described average particle size, excellent battery characteristics can be obtained.

- FIG. 1 is a plan view schematically illustrating a configuration of a conductive material according to an embodiment of the present technology. It is a top view showing the modification regarding the structure of a conductive substance. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS It is sectional drawing showing the structure of the secondary battery (cylindrical type) of one Embodiment of this technique.
- FIG. 4 is an enlarged cross-sectional view illustrating a configuration of a main part of the secondary battery illustrated in FIG. 3. It is a perspective view showing the composition of other secondary batteries (laminated film type) of one embodiment of this art.
- FIG. 6 is an enlarged cross-sectional view illustrating a configuration of a main part of the secondary battery illustrated in FIG. 5. It is a figure showing the measurement result of electric conductivity.
- the conductive material described here is a conductive material including a site for absorbing and releasing lithium (conductive particles 2 described later), and is used for an electrochemical device such as a secondary battery.
- the conductive material is used as an active material, for example, by utilizing the property of inserting and extracting lithium.
- a conductive substance is used as a conductive agent using conductivity, for example.
- FIG. 1 schematically illustrates a planar configuration of a conductive material 10 which is an example of a conductive material.
- the conductive material 10 includes a plurality of conductive supports 1 and a plurality of conductive particles 2 supported by the plurality of conductive supports 1.
- the plurality of conductive supports 1 are shaded lightly, and the plurality of conductive particles 2 are shaded darkly.
- Each of the plurality of conductive supports 1 supports a plurality of conductive particles 2 and includes a carbon material. For this reason, the plurality of conductive supports 1 have conductivity.
- the plurality of conductive particles 2 as primary particles are supported by the plurality of conductive supports 1.
- the plurality of conductive supports 1 are densely packed with each other while supporting the plurality of conductive particles 2, thereby forming secondary particles as shown in FIG.
- the average particle size of the plurality of secondary particles is not particularly limited, but is, for example, 50 nm to 1000 nm. This is because the electrical resistance of the conductive material 10 is reduced due to the plurality of secondary particles having the minimum average particle size.
- the procedure for obtaining the average particle size of the plurality of secondary particles is, for example, the same as the procedure for obtaining the average particle size of the plurality of conductive particles 2 described later.
- Carbon material is a general term for materials containing carbon (C) as a constituent element.
- the type of the carbon material is not particularly limited, but includes, for example, one or more of a sheet-like carbon material, a fibrous carbon material, a spherical carbon material, and the like.
- the sheet-like carbon material described here is a carbon material having a thin plate-like appearance (shape).
- the fibrous carbon material is a carbon material having an elongated appearance (shape).
- the spherical carbon material is a carbon material having a substantially spherical appearance (shape). This is because the plurality of conductive particles 1 are more likely to be supported by the plurality of conductive substrates 1, and the number of conductive particles 2 supported by each conductive substrate 1 increases.
- the sheet-like carbon material contains, for example, one or more of graphene and reduced graphene oxide.
- the number of graphene layers is not particularly limited, and may be only one layer or two or more layers.
- the sheet-like carbon material is preferably, for example, graphene electrochemically exfoliated. This is because one or two layers of extremely thin graphene can be easily obtained.
- the fibrous carbon material includes, for example, one or more of carbon nanotubes, carbon nanofibers, and carbon nanobuds.
- the fibrous carbon material is a carbon nanotube having a hollow structure
- the fibrous carbon material has an outer wall surface of the cavity and an inner wall surface of the cavity.
- the plurality of conductive particles 2 may be supported only by the outer wall surface.
- the plurality of conductive particles 2 may be supported only by the inner wall surface, or the plurality of conductive particles 2 may be supported by both the outer wall surface and the inner wall surface.
- the spherical carbon material contains, for example, one or more of carbon onion, carbon nanofoam, carbide-derived carbon, and acetylene black.
- Multiple conductive particles As described above, since the plurality of conductive particles 2 are sites that occlude and release lithium in the conductive material 10, they can function as so-called active materials.
- the number of conductive particles 2 supported by each conductive support 1 is not particularly limited, and may be only one or two or more.
- FIG. 1 shows, for example, a case where two or more conductive particles 2 are supported by each conductive support 1.
- the conductive particles 2 contain one or more lithium phosphate compounds represented by the following formula (1).
- This lithium phosphate compound is a phosphate compound containing lithium (Li) and one or both of manganese (Mn) and iron (Fe) as constituent elements, and has an olivine-type crystal structure.
- the lithium phosphate compound may further include any one or more of the additional metal elements (M1) as constituent elements.
- M1 is magnesium (Mg), cobalt (Co), calcium (Ca), nickel (Ni) aluminum (Al), molybdenum (Mo), zirconium (Zr), zinc (Zn), chromium (Cr), tin ( Sn), strontium (Sr), titanium (Ti), copper (Cu), boron (B), vanadium (V) and tungsten (W), where x, y and z are 0 ⁇ x ⁇ 1.2, 0 ⁇ y ⁇ 1, 0 ⁇ z ⁇ 1, and 0 ⁇ (y + z) are satisfied.)
- the lithium phosphate compound containing no additional metal element (M1) as an element for example, LiMn 0.5 Fe 0.5 PO 4, LiMn 0.7 Fe 0.3 PO 4, LiMn 0.75 Fe 0.25 PO 4 and LiMn 0.80 Fe 0.20 PO 4 or the like.
- the lithium phosphate compound containing the additional metal element (M1) as a constituent element is, for example, LiMn 0.75 Fe 0.20 Mg 0.05 PO 4 , LiMn 0.80 Fe 0.15 Mg 0.05 PO 4 , LiMn 0.85 Fe 0.10 Mg 0.05 PO 4 , LiMn 0.75 Fe 0.20 Mg 0.045 Mg 0.005 PO 4 and LiMn 0.75 Fe 0.20 Co 0.05 PO 4 .
- the average particle size of the plurality of conductive particles 2 is extremely small. Specifically, the average particle size of the plurality of conductive particles 2 is on the order of nm, more specifically, less than 35 nm.
- the reason why the average particle diameter of the plurality of conductive particles 2 is extremely small is that the plurality of conductive particles 2 are formed using a hydrothermal synthesis method in the step of forming the conductive substance 10 as described later. is there. That is, in order to form the plurality of conductive particles 2, a special crystal growth process of the lithium phosphate compound using the plurality of conductive supports 1 under the conditions of high temperature and high pressure as a growth starting point is used. .
- the hydrothermal synthesis method is a method for growing crystals performed in the presence of hot water under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions, and realizes a crystal growth process that is difficult to realize under normal temperature and normal pressure conditions.
- a lithium phosphate compound crystal grows on the surface of each conductive support 1 in the presence of hot water under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions.
- a plurality of conductive particles 2 having an average particle size of The details of the hydrothermal synthesis method used to form the plurality of conductive particles 2 will be described later.
- the plurality of conductive particles 2, that is, the crystals of the lithium phosphate compound can be used to form any functional group (reaction) existing on the surface of each conductive support 1 in the crystal growth process using the hydrothermal synthesis method. It grows while reacting with the base), and is considered to be firmly connected to each conductive support 1.
- XPS X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy
- the average of the plurality of conductive particles 2 is 35 nm or more, and more specifically, much larger than 35 nm. Therefore, when a general granulation method is used, the average particle size of the plurality of conductive particles 2 does not become less than 35 nm.
- this general granulation method since it is not necessary to use a plurality of conductive supports 1 to form a plurality of conductive particles 2, the average particle size of the plurality of conductive particles 2 is not required. In addition to the diameter not being less than 35 nm, the plurality of conductive particles 2 are not formed so as to be supported by the plurality of conductive supports 1.
- the conductive substance 10 includes the plurality of conductive particles 2 supported by the plurality of conductive supports 1 because the conductivity is ensured by the plurality of conductive supports 1 and the average particle size is extremely small. This is because the electric resistance of the plurality of conductive particles 2 decreases due to having a diameter.
- a normal lithium phosphate compound having the composition shown in the formula (1) that is, a plurality of lithium phosphate compounds not supported by the plurality of conductive supports 1 and having a large average particle size of 35 nm or more. Since the electric resistance is significantly reduced as compared with the lithium phosphate compound particles, the electric conductivity is dramatically improved.
- the average particle diameter of the plurality of conductive particles 2 is preferably 1 nm to 25 nm. This is because the electric resistance of the plurality of conductive particles 2 is sufficiently reduced, so that the electric conductivity of the conductive substance 10 is sufficiently improved.
- the procedure for checking the average particle size of the plurality of conductive particles 2 is, for example, as follows. First, as shown in FIG. 1, using one or more of a microscope such as a scanning electron microscope (SEM), a transmission electron microscope (TEM), and a scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM). Next, the entirety of the conductive material 10 is observed. The magnification at the time of observation is not particularly limited, for example, as long as the magnification allows observation of the entirety of the conductive material 10. Then, based on the observation result (micrograph) of the conductive substance 10, the particle size (nm) of any 40 conductive particles 2 is measured. In this case, the measurement positions of 40 particle diameters are dispersed as much as possible. Finally, the average value of the particle diameters of the 40 particles is calculated, thereby obtaining the average particle diameter.
- a microscope such as a scanning electron microscope (SEM), a transmission electron microscope (TEM), and a scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM).
- SEM scanning electron microscope
- TEM transmission electron microscope
- STEM
- the conductive material 10 is manufactured by, for example, a procedure described below.
- a plurality of conductive supports 1 are prepared. Specifically, when a sheet-like carbon material is used as the plurality of conductive supports 1, for example, one or two layers of graphene nanosheets separated from natural graphite flakes using an electrochemical separation method are used. . On the other hand, when a fibrous carbon material (carbon nanotubes) is used as the plurality of conductive supports 1, for example, an N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone suspension in which multilayer carbon nanotubes are dispersed is used. In this case, for example, a graphene derivative having a wall (hollow structure) formed of a carbon sheet (graphene) having a thickness of one atom may be used.

- the supply source of the additional metal element is also mixed.
- the additional metal element is magnesium
- the source of the additional metal element is a magnesium-containing compound such as sulfate, nitrate and acetate.
- a plurality of conductive particles 2 are formed in water under the conditions of high temperature and high pressure using a hydrothermal synthesis method.
- a first suspension is prepared by dispersing a plurality of conductive supports 1 in a solvent, and then a lithium-containing compound and a phosphate compound are added to the first suspension.
- a first mixed solution is not particularly limited, but is, for example, an aqueous solvent such as pure water. Thereafter, the first mixed solution is heated.
- each conductive support 1 crystals of lithium phosphate (Li 3 PO 4 ) grow from the surface as a growth starting point. Thereby, one or two or more lithium phosphate particles are formed on the surface of each conductive support 1, so that the plurality of conductive supports 1 support the plurality of lithium phosphate particles. In this crystal growth process, since the defect sites existing on the surface of each conductive support 1 are used as anchor sites, lithium phosphate particles are firmly connected to the conductive support 1.
- the heating conditions of the first mixed solution that is, conditions such as temperature and pressure are not particularly limited, and can be arbitrarily set.
- a second mixed solution is prepared by adding one or both of the iron-containing compounds.
- the type of the solvent is, for example, the same as the type of the solvent used for preparing the first suspension.
- a supply source of an additional metal element may be further added to the first suspension as needed.
- additives such as an antioxidant may be further added to the first suspension.
- the type of the antioxidant is not particularly limited, and is, for example, ascorbic acid which prevents oxidation of iron.
- the heating conditions of the second mixed solution that is, conditions such as temperature and pressure are not particularly limited, and can be arbitrarily set.
- the plurality of conductive supports 1 are densely packed with each other while supporting the plurality of conductive particles 2, the plurality of conductive supports 1 form secondary particles. Substance 10 is obtained.
- the conductive substance 10 includes a plurality of conductive particles 2 which are primary particles supported by each of a plurality of conductive supports 1 including a carbon material. It contains the lithium phosphate compound shown in (1) and has an average particle size of less than 35 nm.
- the electric resistance is significantly reduced as compared with the plurality of lithium phosphate compound particles that are not supported by the plurality of conductive supports 1 and have a large average particle size of 35 nm or more. Therefore, the electric conductivity is dramatically improved. Therefore, in a secondary battery using the conductive material 10 as an active material or a conductive agent, excellent battery characteristics can be obtained.
- the conductive material 10 Since it can easily function sufficiently as an active material or a conductive agent, higher effects can be obtained.
- the carbon material contained in the plurality of conductive supports 1 includes any one or more of a sheet-like carbon material, a fibrous carbon material, and a spherical carbon material
- the sheet-like carbon material contains graphene and the like
- the fibrous carbon material contains carbon nanotubes and the like
- the spherical carbon material contains carbon onion and the like
- the average particle diameter of the plurality of conductive particles 2 is 1 nm to 25 nm, the electric resistance of the plurality of conductive particles 2 is sufficiently reduced, so that a higher effect can be obtained.
- the conductive material 10 may further include the coating layer 3.
- the coating layer 3 covers, for example, a part or all of the plurality of conductive supports 1 on which the plurality of conductive particles 2 are supported, thereby forming a part or all of the conductive substance 10. It is coated and contains a material containing carbon as a constituent element.
- the coating layer 3 is prepared by, for example, preparing a mixed solution in which the conductive substance 10 is added to an aqueous solution containing a carbon source such as sucrose, and spraying the mixed solution using a spray drying method or the like. , And then formed by heating the spray.
