Abstract
Description
本発明は、アンダーカバーによってシリンダ部へ導風し易くすることを目的とする。
上記目的を達成するために、本発明は、ヘッドパイプ(15)から後方に延出するメインフレーム(16)と、前記メインフレーム(16)の下方に配置され、クランクケース(30)の上部にシリンダ部(31)を有するエンジン(11)と、前記エンジン(11)の少なくとも一部を下方から覆うアンダーカバー(45)とを備える鞍乗り型車両のアンダーカバー構造において、前記アンダーカバー(45)は、前記エンジン(11)の下方に配置されるベース部(91)と、前記エンジン(11)の前方で上方に延出する縦壁部(92)とを一体に備え、前記縦壁部(92)は、車体側面視で前記シリンダ部(31)が位置する高さまで上方に延出する。
なお、説明中、前後左右及び上下といった方向の記載は、特に記載がなければ車体の各方向と同一である。また、各図に示す符号FRは車体前方を示し、符号UPは車体上方を示し、符号LHは車体左方を示している。
また、車体フレーム10は、メインフレーム16,16の前後の中間部から後上がりに後方へ延びる左右一対のシートフレーム19,19と、ピボットフレーム18,18の上部から後上がりに延びてシートフレーム19,19に連結される左右一対のサブフレーム20,20とを備える。
車体フレーム10は、上側メインフレーム16aの前端部と下側メインフレーム16bの前端部とを連結してフレーム強度を向上させる上ガセット21(補強部)を備える。
また、車体フレーム10は、下側メインフレーム16bの前端部とダウンフレーム17の前端部とを連結してフレーム強度を向上させる下ガセット22(補強部)を備える。
詳細には、操舵系12は、ヘッドパイプ15に回動自在に軸支されるステアリングシャフト(不図示)と、前輪2の左右に配置されて前輪2を支持する左右一対のフロントフォーク25,25と、上記ステアリングシャフトの上端に固定されて左右のフロントフォーク25,25の上部を連結するトップブリッジ26と、上記ステアリングシャフトの下端に固定されて左右のフロントフォーク25,25を連結するボトムブリッジ27と、トップブリッジ26の上部に固定されるハンドル28とを備える。
前輪2は、フロントフォーク25,25の下端部間に渡される車軸2aに軸支される。スイングアーム13は、ピボットフレーム18,18に設けられるピボット軸29に軸支されて後方に延びる。後輪3はスイングアーム13の後端部に軸支される。
エンジン11は、車幅方向に延びるクランク軸(不図示)を支持するクランクケース30と、クランクケース30の前部の上部から上方に延びるシリンダ部31とを備える。クランクケース30の後部には、変速機(不図示)が内蔵される。シリンダ部31のシリンダ軸線31aは、前上方に延びる。
エンジン11の排気管32は、シリンダ部31の前面から下方に引き出される。排気管32の下流端は、エンジン11の下方に配置されたマフラー33に接続される。
燃料タンク35は、メインフレーム16,16の上方で、シート14とヘッドパイプ15との間に配置される。
ヘッドライト36は、ヘッドパイプ15の前方に設けられる。
シート14は、運転者用の前側シート14aと、前側シート14aの後上方に設けられる同乗者用の後側シート14bとを備える。
運転者用の左右一対のステップ37,37は、ピボットフレーム18,18の下部側に設けられる。
車体カバー40は、燃料タンク35を覆うタンクカバー41と、タンクカバー41の前端部に取り付けられる左右一対のシュラウド42,42と、前側シート14aとメインフレーム16,16及びサブフレーム20,20との間を覆う左右一対のサイドカバー43,43とを備える。
また、車体カバー40は、シートフレーム19,19の後部を覆うリアカバー44と、エンジン11を下方から覆うアンダーカバー45とを備える。
また、自動二輪車1は、前輪2を上方から覆うフロントフェンダー46と、後輪3を後上方から覆うリアフェンダ47と、後輪3を前上方から覆うインナーフェンダ48とを備える。
エンジン11は、シリンダ部31がクランクケース30の前上部から前側に傾斜する前傾エンジンである。シリンダ部31は、車体側面視で、下側メインフレーム16bとダウンフレーム17との間に配置される。シリンダ部31は、クランクケース30から上方に延びるシリンダブロック71と、シリンダブロック71の上部に連結されるシリンダヘッド72と、シリンダヘッド72の上部に連結されるヘッドカバー73とを備える。
ラジエータ75の左右には、ラジエータシュラウド76が取り付けられる。ラジエータシュラウド76は、ラジエータ75の車幅方向外側を覆うカバーであり、ラジエータ75の軸線LA(ラジエータ75の上下に沿って延びる軸線)に沿って後下がりに延在し、車体側面視で長方形形状に形成される。左右のラジエータシュラウド76により、車体前方からの走行風を整流し、後方に円滑に流すことができる。
左右のダウンフレーム17,17は、車体前面視でシリンダ部31の幅よりも広い間隔で、鉛直方向に近い角度で垂下する左右のフレームであり、円筒断面を有するパイプフレームで形成される。
左右のダウンフレーム17,17の下部には、エンジンハンガ80,80が各々締結される締結部17a,17aが設けられる。各締結部17a,17aは、車幅方向に沿って締結部材(本構成では締結ボルト)81が挿通される金属製の筒部材で形成される。締結部材81を、エンジンハンガ80,80に締結することによってダウンフレーム17,17とエンジンハンガ80,80とが一体的に連結される。なお、左側のダウンフレーム17の下部にはホーン77が取り付けられている。
エンジン11から延びる排気管32は、クランクケース30の下方を後方へ直線状に延び、マフラー33に接続される。マフラー33は、クランクケース30の下方及びスイングアーム13の基端部下方であって、後輪3の前方に配置される。マフラー33は、略直方体の箱形状を有し、後部側方(本構成では後部右側)から後方斜めに向けてテールパイプ部33aが延出する。マフラー33には、マフラー33のテールパイプ部33a側の側面を覆うマフラーカバー33bが設けられる。このマフラーカバー33bは、締結部材79(例えば締結ボルト)によってマフラー33に固定される。
図2及び図3に示すように、左右のベース部91,91は、クランクケース30の前部下方で排気管32を下方から側面に渡って覆うカバーに形成される。各ベース部91,91の後端は、締結部材83によって左右のピボットフレーム18,18に固定される。また、左右のベース部91,91は、図5に示す締結部材84によって互いに連結される。
また、各縦壁部92,92の後側の輪郭線を構成する後縁92r,92rは、車体側面視でラジエータシュラウド76,76の後側の輪郭線を構成する後縁76r,76rの延長線76r',76r'の位置(図3、図4中の位置P1)から後下がりに延出する。これらにより、左右の縦壁部92,92は、車体側面視でラジエータシュラウド76,76の下方に連なり、アンダーカバー45とラジエータシュラウド76,76とが別部品となりながらも、略一体化したカバーが得られる。
また、左右の縦壁部92,92の後縁76r,76rについては、ラジエータシュラウド76,76の後縁76r,76rの延長線76r',76r'に略沿って延出する。
また、左右の縦壁部92,92は、下方に行くほど車幅方向の間隔が狭くなるので、車体前方からの走行風を、シリンダ部31及びクランクケース30の左右側面と、シリンダ部31及びクランクケース30よりも幅が狭いマフラー33の左右側面とに案内し易くなる。
キャニスタ100は、燃料タンク35内の燃料が蒸発して出来た蒸発燃料を吸着する吸着剤を収容する。図2に示すように、キャニスタ100は、筒状に形成され、マフラー33の上方、且つスイングアーム13の下方に空く空間Xに配置される。この空間Xは、ピボットフレーム18,18及びエンジン11の後方、且つ後輪3の前方に形成される空間であるので、前後及び上下が、ピボットフレーム18,18、エンジン11、後輪3、スイングアーム13、及びマフラー33によって囲まれる。
図6に示すように、キャニスタ100には配管類101が接続される。配管類101は、燃料タンク35内の蒸発燃料をキャニスタ100内に導くチャージ管、キャニスタ100内の蒸発燃料をエンジン11の吸気側に導くパージ管、外部の大気を導入する大気導入管、及び、キャニスタ100内に侵入した水等の不要液を排出するドレン管である。配管類101は、キャニスタ100の左右の端部に振り分けて接続される。
左右の保持部材110,110は、キャニスタ100の外周面を無端状に囲う環状のバンド部111と、バンド部111から径方向外側に突出する突出部112とを一体に備えている。
また、縦壁部92の後縁92rは、ラジエータシュラウド76の後縁76rの延長線76r'に沿って後下がりに延出するので、ラジエータシュラウド76とアンダーカバー45の後縁76r,92rを連続させ易くなる。これによっても、ラジエータシュラウド76とアンダーカバー45とを一体化させたカバーを得やすくなる。
なお、仮に、左右のダウンフレーム17,17が後方に延び、ダウンフレーム17,17の後端部に締結部17a,17aを有する場合、左右の縦壁部92によってダウンフレーム17,17の後端部、及び左右のエンジンハンガ80,80の各々を側方から覆うようにしてもよい。
例えば、自動二輪車のアンダーカバー構造に本発明を適用する場合を説明したが、エンジン11の少なくとも一部を下方から覆うアンダーカバー45を有する鞍乗り型車両等の車両に本発明を広く適用可能である。また、鞍乗り型車両は、車体に跨って乗車する車両全般を含み、自動二輪車(原動機付き自転車も含む)に限定されず、自転車等の他の二輪車、及びATV(不整地走行車両)等の三輪車両や四輪車両を含む車両である。

前記縦壁部(92)は、車体側面視で前記シリンダ部(31)が位置する高さまで上方に延出することを特徴とする鞍乗り型車両のアンダーカバー構造。 - 前記ヘッドパイプ(15)から垂下するダウンフレーム(17)を備え、

- 前記ダウンフレーム(17)は、車体前面視で前記シリンダ部(31)の幅よりも広い間隔で下方に延出する左右のフレームであり、前記ダウンフレーム(17)の端部に、前記クランクケース(30)を支持するエンジンハンガ(80)が締結される締結部(17a)を有し、
