Definitions
- the present invention relates to a thermal transfer sheet.
- thermal transfer recording methods As a simple printing method, various thermal transfer recording methods are widely used.
- a thermal transfer sheet in which a large number of, for example, yellow, magenta, and cyan (black if necessary) color material layers are repeatedly provided in a surface sequence is mainly used on a continuous base material.
- the thermal transfer recording method is a melting type recording method in which the color material layer is melted and softened by heating and transferred onto the transfer target to form an image, and the dye in the color material layer is transferred to the transfer target by heating. It is roughly divided into a sublimation type recording method for forming an image.
- the sublimation recording method uses a sublimation dye as a coloring material, so it has excellent halftone reproducibility and gradation, and can express a full-color image exactly as it is on the image-receiving sheet. It is applied to color image formation such as video and computer. The image is of a high quality comparable to a silver salt photograph.
- the components on the back layer of the thermal transfer sheet are peeled off and become so-called “scraps”, or the peeled components are burned by the heat of the thermal head heating element. And may adhere to the heating element of the thermal head or the vicinity thereof.
- the “cass” is pressed against the thermal transfer sheet at the time of printing, and the trace is reflected to the transfer target side, and appears as “scratches” on the image formed on the transfer target.
- development has been made to suppress the occurrence of “scratches” caused by “scum” that peels off from the back layer of the thermal transfer sheet, but has not yet been solved.
- the thermal transfer sheet is generally stored in a state of being wound around a predetermined winding diameter, and the color material contained in the color material layer exists in a state where the color material is localized on the surface of the color material layer due to bleeding or the like. In this case, the color material easily shifts (so-called kick) to the back layer side of the thermal transfer sheet.
- thermal transfer sheets for suppressing the occurrence of kicks.
- a dye layer is provided on one surface of a substrate, and
- a thermal transfer sheet having a back layer provided on the other side a thermal transfer sheet in which a dye layer contains a predetermined dye and a binder resin has been proposed.
- the dye can be prevented from moving to the back layer side during storage of the thermal transfer sheet.
- the thermal transfer sheet proposed in Patent Document 1 has a problem that the range of material selection is narrow because the dye species and binder resin species contained in the dye layer are limited to predetermined components.
- the thermal transfer sheet is stored in a state of being wound around a predetermined winding diameter. If the back layer constituting the thermal transfer sheet is wound with insufficient curing, The back surface layer and the color material layer are in close contact with each other, which may cause problems during printing. Therefore, when the thermal transfer sheet is wound, a so-called aging treatment must be performed until the back layer is completely cured and stabilized, and a reduction in the aging time is also required.
- the present invention is an invention made under such circumstances, it can be prevented from peeling off from the back layer, or sticking to the thermal head caused by subsequent baking, so-called kick generation, and
- the main object is to provide a thermal transfer sheet with a short time until the back layer is stabilized.
- the present invention for solving the above problems is a thermal transfer sheet in which a color material layer is located on one side of a substrate and a back layer is located on the other side of the substrate, the back layer comprising a binder A resin and inorganic particles, wherein the binder resin is a polyisocyanate having an isocyanurate structure and a resin having a hydroxyl group with respect to a hydroxyl group in the resin having a hydroxyl group, of an isocyanate group in the polyisocyanate having the isocyanurate structure. It includes a product reacted at an equivalence ratio (—NCO / —OH) of 0.05 or more and 0.15 or less.
- —NCO / —OH equivalence ratio
- the polyisocyanate having the isocyanurate structure may be obtained by polymerizing an isocyanate monomer having 9 or more carbon atoms and having a cyclic structure.
- the inorganic particles are non-spherical inorganic particles and may be contained in an amount of 5% by mass or more based on the total mass of the back layer.
- the thermal transfer sheet of the present invention it is possible to suppress the adhesion of debris to the thermal head caused by peeling off from the back surface layer or subsequent baking, and effectively suppressing the occurrence of so-called kick, and The aging time of the back layer can also be shortened compared to the conventional case.

Abstract
