Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a seat lock device for locking a vehicle seat to a vehicle body.
  • the seat lock device of Patent Document 1 includes a housing having an opening for receiving a striker, a latch arm engaged with the striker, and an urging member.
  • the latch arm moves between the latch release position and the latch position within the housing.
  • the biasing member is a spring member made of a metal wire and has two coil portions. The first coil portion engages a portion of the latch arm to hold the latch arm in the unlatched position. The second coil portion is attached to a pin provided inside the housing.
  • the urging member has a first end engaged with the housing and a second end engaged with the latch arm. The latch arm is always biased by the biasing member from the latch release position to the latch position.
  • the striker When the striker enters the opening of the housing with the latch arm held at the latch release position, the striker comes into contact with the first coil portion of the biasing member. Thereafter, the first coil portion moves together with the striker in the striker entry direction against the urging force of the urging member. As a result, the engagement between the first coil portion and a portion of the latch arm is released. The latch arm moves from the latch release position toward the latch position by the urging force of the urging member.
  • the biasing force of the biasing member causes the striker to be detached from the opening of the housing via the first coil portion of the striker restrained by the latch arm. Always granted in the direction. For this reason, when the latch arm is moved from the latch position to the latch release position and the engagement between the latch arm and the striker is released, the striker is moved in a direction away from the opening of the housing by the biasing force of the biasing member. Movement is assisted and pop-up function is demonstrated.
