Definitions
- the present invention relates to an improvement in a brake mechanism of a chain saw that rotationally drives an endless saw chain to cut wood or the like.
- the engine chain saw is equipped with a centrifugal clutch, and when the rotational speed of the drive shaft exceeds a set value, the centrifugal clutch is engaged and power is transmitted from the drive shaft to the sprocket to rotate the saw chain. When the rotational speed of the drive shaft is less than the set value, the centrifugal clutch is disengaged, power transmission from the drive shaft is blocked, and the saw chain is maintained in the stopped state.
- the operator should push the brake lever located on the front side of the front handle forward.
- the rotation of the saw chain can be stopped by operating the brake mechanism.
- This brake mechanism is disclosed in, for example, Patent Document 1, the brake mechanism operated by the brake lever is a mechanical brake, and a brake band is disposed on the outer peripheral side of the rotating body that rotates in conjunction with the sprocket, When the brake lever is operated, the rotation of the rotating body is stopped by strongly tightening the brake band using the link mechanism.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above background, and its object is to improve the assembly of the brake link mechanism by increasing the rotation angle of the brake handle when assembling the component parts around the brake handle.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a chain saw in which the operating angle of the brake handle after assembly can be freely limited by providing a rotation angle restricting member of the brake handle separately from the housing.
- Still another object of the present invention is to realize a chain saw that can sufficiently secure the strength of the rotation angle regulating mechanism that receives the rotational torque of the brake handle.
- a drive source for driving the saw chain a brake for stopping rotation of the saw chain provided on the main body housing side provided with the drive source, a brake operation unit for operating the brake, and a brake operation unit
- a brake link that activates the brake by operating the brake, wherein the brake link is provided on the main body housing side, and the movement amount restricting means that restricts the operation amount of the brake operation portion can be attached to and detached from the main body housing.
- the brake operation unit is pivotally supported on the main body housing so as to be rotatable by an operator, and the movement amount regulating means is a rotation angle regulating member that regulates a rotation range of the brake operation unit.
- the rotation angle restricting member of the brake operation part is configured to be detachable separately from the base part (housing, etc.) to which the brake handle or brake handle is attached, so that the parts around the brake (link, spring, etc.) can be assembled. Since the rotation angle of the brake operation part can be set large, the assembling property is greatly improved.
- the brake link is biased in a predetermined direction by an elastic body such as a brake spring, and the rotation angle regulating member does not act when the elastic body is attached to the brake link, and the spring is It acted after it was installed.
- a brake link cover that is fixed to cover the brake link housing portion of the main body housing is provided, and a rotation angle restricting member is provided on the brake link cover.
- the rotation angle restricting member is a protrusion provided so as to protrude from the brake link cover in the vicinity of the rotation fulcrum of the brake operation unit.
- the elastic body is assembled with the brake link cover removed, and the brake operation section is assembled with the brake operation section being rotated outside the range of the operation amount regulated by the rotation angle regulating member. .
- the rotation range of the brake operation unit when the elastic body is attached to the brake link is enlarged so as to be larger than the rotation range of the brake operation unit during operation.
- the brake mechanism is set to operate.
- the assembly angle of the brake link mechanism can be greatly improved because the rotation angle of the brake handle can be increased when assembling the component parts around the brake handle. Further, by providing the rotation angle restricting member of the brake operation unit separately from the main body housing, the operating angle of the brake handle after assembly can be freely restricted.

- the provision of the rocking space 9a to accommodate a part of the reset plate 20 as described above makes the rotation angle of the brake handle 9 larger than the rotation angle of the reset plate 20 with respect to the rotation shaft 21.
- the actuating plate 25 is a substantially L-shaped member that is pivotally supported with respect to the rotation shaft 26, and is hooked to hook the end 40b of the brake band 40 at the tip of the arm portion.
- a stop portion is formed, and a hook engaging portion for engaging the hook portion 33b on one end side of the brake spring 33 is formed.
- the rocking end portion of the reset plate 20 and the vicinity of the bent portion of the operation plate 25 are
- the rotation angle of the brake handle 9 toward the front side is such that the stopper wall portion 9c formed on one end side in the circumferential direction of the cylindrical shaft portion 9b near the rotation shaft 21 of the brake handle 9 contacts the rotation restricting member 61. It is regulated by touching.
- the rotation restricting member 61 is a movement amount restricting means for restricting the operation amount of the brake operation unit, and is manufactured integrally with the brake link cover 6 made of synthetic resin, and the rotation restricting member 61 is removed by removing the brake link cover 6.

- the brake spring 33 is an elastic body using a tension coil spring, and hook portions 33a and 33b are formed at both ends.
- the brake spring 33 provides a force for tightening the brake band 40 in the direction of the arrow 48 when the brake is operated.
- the brake mechanism 33 returns the brake handle to the initial position shown in FIG. 3 when the brake is not operated. Details of the operating principle of the brake spring 33 will be described later with reference to FIG.
- FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the brake mechanism of the chain saw 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention.
- 3 shows a state in which the brake handle 9 and the brake spring 33 are removed, and further shows a state in which the brake link cover 6 and the rotation restricting member 61 configured integrally therewith are also completely removed.

- the main body housing 2 is manufactured by integral molding of synthetic resin. Accordingly, not only the attachment portion 53 to which the guide bar 11 is attached, but also the screw bosses 52a to 52d, the attachment guide 55, the rib 41, the rotation restricting member attachment shaft 57, and the like are integrally formed.
- a mounting bolt 54 for mounting the guide bar 11 is provided on the mounting portion 53 by casting.
- the reset plate 20 When the operator tilts the brake handle 9 forward (brake operating direction), the reset plate 20 is also tilted in the same direction, so that one end side of the brake band 40 wound around the clutch drum 30 is pulled by the operating plate 25. Then, the rotation of the clutch drum 30 is stopped. Since the sprocket 31 and the saw chain are connected to the clutch drum 30, the rotation of the saw chain stops when the clutch drum 30 stops.
- the brake handle 9 and the reset plate 20 are stably held by the urging force of the brake spring 33 at the original position. The tightening of the drum 30 is loosened, and the clutch drum 30, the sprocket 31, and the saw chain can be freely rotated.
- FIG. 5 (1) shows a state when the brake is not operated
- FIG. 5 (2) shows a state when the brake is operated.
- the reset plate 20 is a substantially L-shaped plate member having a gentle angle when viewed in the axial direction, and can swing in the direction of the arrow 28b from the state (1) to the state (2) about the rotation shaft 21.
- a first arm 20a is provided so as to extend on one side of the reset plate 20 when viewed from the rotation shaft 21, and a second arm 20b is provided on the other side.
- the operating plate 25 is a plate material in which the first arm 25a and the second arm 25b are connected in a substantially L shape when viewed in the axial direction, and is pivotally supported on the main body housing 2 by a rotating shaft 26 provided at the end. Is done.
- a connecting pin 27 that is pivotally supported by the end portion of the connecting plate 24 (see FIG. 3) is provided.
- the other end of the connecting plate 24 is pivotally supported by the connecting pin 22 on the end of the second arm 20 b of the reset plate 20. Since the connection plate 24 is thus connected, the reset plate 20 and the operation plate 25 rotate while being influenced by each other.
- a latching portion 25c for latching the brake band 40 and a latching portion 25d for latching the brake spring 33 are formed.
- the brake spring 33 latched by the latching portion 25d transmits a compressive force in the direction of the arrow 29.
- the connecting pin 22 is located closer to the brake spring 33 than the imaginary line connecting the connecting pin 27 and the center of the rotating shaft 21, and the second of the reset plate 20 Since the shape of the end of the arm 20b is formed obliquely at the portion indicated by the arrow 20c, the reset plate 20 will rotate in the direction indicated by the arrow 28a when a force in the direction indicated by the arrow 29 in FIG. However, because of the positional relationship between the connecting plate 24 and the oblique portion 20c, it becomes impossible to rotate, and the reset plate 20 and the operating plate 25 are stably held at the position shown in FIG. It is held in a pulled state.
- the reset plate 20 When the operator tilts the brake handle 9 forward from the state (1), the reset plate 20 is rotated from the position 20a 'in (2) to the position 20a. Since this rotation is centered on the rotation shaft 21, the second arm 20 b is also rotated from the position of 20 b ′, the position of the connection pin 22 is moved from 22 ′, and the connection pin 27 and the rotation shaft 21 are moved. It moves from the imaginary line connecting the centers to the upper part, that is, the side away from the brake spring 33. As a result, the second arm 20b is rotated in the direction in which the connecting pin 22 is separated by the corner portion 25f of the operating plate 25, so that the holding state of the reset plate 20 is released and the tensile force of the brake spring 33 is released. The arm 25b pulls one end of the brake band 40 to tighten the clutch drum 30 and stop the rotation of the clutch drum 30. The amount of movement of the operating plate 25 in the counterclockwise direction is limited by the amount of the brake band 40 to be pulled.
- the rotation range ⁇ 3 (see FIG. 6 (1)) of the operating plate 25 when the brake spring 33 is attached to the brake link mechanism is the operating plate 25 when the chain saw 1 is operating (when the drive source is rotating).
- the rotation range is enlarged so as to be larger than the rotation range ⁇ 2 (see FIG. 6 (4)), and the rotation range to be expanded is set on the brake operating side, that is, the front side.
- FIG. 6 (1) shows the state of the brake link mechanism when the brake spring 33 is assembled.
- the brake handle 9 is greatly rotated forward, and the hook portion 33a of the brake spring 33 is held in the brake spring in this state.
- the hook portion 33b is hooked on the hook portion 33d of the operating plate 25.
- the latching portion 25d can be brought closer to the brake spring 33 side (front side) than in the normal operation.
- a person who performs the assembly work can easily hook the hook portion 33b and the hook portion 25d without pulling the brake spring 33 greatly.
- the procedure of hooking the hook portion 33a first and then hooking the hook portion 33b is shown. However, this is reversed and the hook portion 33b is hooked first. Also good. 6 (1) to (4), the brake band 40 is not hooked to the hooking portion 25c.
- the brake band 40 may be attached before the brake spring 33 is assembled.
- these assembly procedures are arbitrary, and the brake band 40 may be attached after the brake spring 33 is assembled. The brake band 40 can be easily pulled before the clutch drum 30 is mounted, and can be easily attached to the brake link mechanism.
- FIG. 6B is a view showing a state in which the brake link 33 is attached to the main body housing 2 with the brake spring 33 incorporated and the brake handle 9 positioned at the normal position. Since the rotation restriction member 61 is integrally formed with the brake link cover 6, the rotation restriction member 61 is provided below the stopper wall portion 9 c of the brake handle 9 by attaching the brake link cover 6 to the main body housing 2. Will be located. In the state of FIG. 6 (2), the pulling force of the brake spring 33 acts on the operating plate 25 and the force in the direction of the arrow 29 works. However, the brake link mechanism is in the state of FIG. It is stably held in a state where it is not hung.
- the shape of the brake link cover 6 will be described with reference to FIG.
- FIG. 7 is a side view showing the shape of the brake link cover 6, (1) is a view from the outside, and (2) is a view from the back side.
- the brake link cover 6 is a cover that is manufactured by integral molding of a synthetic resin such as plastic and covers an opening formed by the recess 51 of the main body housing 2. Since the sprocket 31 connected to the clutch drum 30 (see FIG. 3) extends in the brake link cover 6, an opening 6 a having a diameter slightly larger than the outer diameter of the clutch drum 30 is formed. . In the vicinity of the four corners of the brake link cover 6, screw holes 62a to 62d for passing through the mounting screws 42a to 42d (see FIG. 2) are formed.
- FIG. 7 (2) is a view (rear view) of the brake link cover 6 viewed from the inside.
- a wall surface extending in a direction parallel to the rotational axis direction of the clutch drum 30 is formed on almost the entire outer peripheral edge of the brake link cover 6 (near the arrow 6b) and on the outer edge of the opening 6a. Since the vicinity of the arrow 6b is a place where the brake handle 9 is located, its wall surface is not formed.
- a rotation restricting member 61 that is a protrusion provided so as to protrude in the vicinity of the rotation fulcrum of the brake handle 9 is provided.
- the upper surface 61b of the rotation restricting member 61 is formed in a shape that makes contact with the stopper wall 9c (see FIG. 3) of the brake handle 9 over the entire surface. Further, an axial columnar hole 61a for inserting the rotation restricting member mounting shaft 57 (see FIG. 4) is formed on the front side of the rotation restricting member 61. Since the rotation restricting member 61 is integrally formed with synthetic resin together with the brake link cover 6, the upper surface 61b and the axial cylindrical hole 61a are also manufactured by molding. In this embodiment, the rotation restricting member 61 is made of synthetic resin. However, the turn restricting member 61 may be made of metal and cast into the brake link cover 6 made of synthetic resin.
- the regulating member 61 may be manufactured separately and attached to the brake link cover 6 by any method such as screwing, fitting, or bonding. In any case, if the rotation restricting member 61 is automatically mounted when the detachable brake link cover 6 is attached to the main body housing 2, it is ensured that the rotation restricting member 61 is forgotten to be mounted. Can be prevented. With this structure, when the brake link mechanism is assembled and when the brake spring 33 is attached, the rotation restricting member 61 is not provided, so the rotation restricting member 61 does not act. As a result, the brake handle 9 can be greatly rotated to the angle ⁇ 3 as shown in FIG. 6A, so that the brake spring 33 can be easily attached. Returning again to FIG.
- the rotation restricting member 61 is formed with an axial cylindrical hole 61a (see FIG. 7) along the outer shape of the columnar rotation restricting member mounting shaft 57, and is rotated by attaching the brake link cover 6. Since the axial cylindrical hole of the rotation restriction member 61 enters the restriction member mounting shaft 57, the rotation restriction member 61 is stably held not only from the brake link cover 6 but also from the body housing 2 side.
- FIG. 6 (3) is a diagram showing a state in which the operator has started the operation of the manual brake, that is, a state immediately after starting to push down the brake handle 9 forward.
- the state of the brake link mechanism in FIG. 6 (3) corresponds to the state of FIG. 5 (2), and the reset plate 20 also moves in the same direction by moving the brake handle 9 in the direction of the arrow 28b.
- the position of the connecting pin 22 of the connecting plate 24 changes from the brake spring 33 side to the opposite side of the imaginary line connecting the connecting pin 27 and the center of the rotating shaft 21, the tensile force of the brake spring 33 is applied and the operating plate 25 starts moving rapidly in the direction of arrow 29.
- the stopper wall portion 9 c of the brake handle 9 comes into contact with the rotation restricting member 61. That is, the rotation angle of the brake handle 9 can be regulated by the rotation regulating member 61. Since the swing handle 9 is formed in the brake handle 9, the rotation angle of the reset plate 20 is allowed up to ⁇ 2 with respect to the rotation angle of the brake handle 9. It becomes possible to brake 30 reliably.
- the brake handle 9, the main body housing 2, and the rotation restricting member 61 that restricts the rotation angle of the brake handle 9 are provided on the parts that support the brake handle 9 (here, Since the main body housing 2) is configured as a separate part, when assembling the element parts around the brake (brake springs 33, etc.), the brake handle 9 is largely rotated out of the range of the regulated operation amount. Parts can be assembled. After that, by attaching the rotation restricting member 61, the rotation angle of the brake handle 9 can be limited to be small. Since the rotation restricting member 61 is provided on the brake link cover 6 side, the rotation restricting member 61 can be attached at the same time by attaching the brake link cover 6 to the main body housing 2.
