Hydrogen is a reducing agent capable of reacting with ROS, it has neither taste nor smell, is non-toxic and most stable when it is in solution. Hydrogen is registered as a food additive E949, is approved for use in the food industry and in the manufacture of cosmetics as packaging gas or propellant.
