Abstract
耐熱性および耐変形性が、従来の圧電膜よりも優れた圧電膜及びその製造方法を得る。 フッ化ビニリデンとトリフルオロエチレンとの共重合体からなる圧電膜であって、フッ化ビニリデンが、82モル%以上から86モル%以下の範囲であって、分子量が60万以上であり、前記圧電膜は、140℃以上から150℃以下の温度範囲にて熱処理結晶化して、圧電特性を発生させた圧電膜とする。また、耐熱性が140℃以上であり、破断歪みが8%以上から55%以下の範囲にあって耐変形性に優れていることを特徴とする。
Description
本発明はフッ化ビニリデン(PDF)とトリフルオロエチレン(TrFE)の共重合体P(VDF/TrFE)になる圧電膜であって、分子量を60万/mol以上とし、圧電性(強誘電性)を保持できる上限温度(キュリー点)を目安とする耐熱性と、破断歪みを目安とする耐変形性とを向上させた圧電膜、およびその製造方法に関する。
強誘電性高分子であるフッ化ビニリデン(PDF)とトリフルオロエチレン(TrFE)の共重合体 P(VDF/TrFE) は、優れた圧電特性と大きい自発分極(残留分極)をもち、柔軟性、加工性を生かした圧電センサー・トランスジューサ、赤外線焦電センサーなど種々の素子・デバイスへの応用が検討されている。特許文献1、特許文献2には、共重合体 P(VDF/TrFE)と水酸化フラーレン、カーボンナノチューブの混合物(ブレンド)の圧電膜に関して公開されている。
従来の強誘電性高分子P(VDF/TrFE)共重合体は、耐熱性と耐変形性に劣るという欠点を有しており、各種の用途に対して、不十分な特性であった。特許文献1、特許文献2に記載された、共重合体 P(VDF/TrFE)のブレンド膜に用いられる圧電膜は、VDF/TrFE が、75/25モル%の圧電膜であって、耐変形性に劣っており、また耐熱性も不十分という問題点があった。
本発明の課題は、圧電膜の耐熱性、および耐変形性が、従来の圧電膜よりも優れた圧電膜及びその製造方法を提供することである。
本発明の請求項1の圧電膜は、フッ化ビニリデンとトリフルオロエチレンとの共重合体からなる圧電膜であって、フッ化ビニリデンが、82モル%以上から86モル%以下の範囲であって、分子量が60万/mol以上であることを特徴とする圧電膜である。
フッ化ビニリデンが、82モル%未満であると、圧電特性が低下する不具合が生じ、また、フッ化ビニリデンが、86モル%を超えると、同じく圧電特性が低下する不具合が生じる。
また、分子量が60万/mol未満であると、圧電膜の耐変形性が低下する不具合が生ずる。

本発明の請求項2の圧電膜は、前記圧電膜は、基板に塗布して、乾燥し、前記乾燥して形成した共重合体の膜を140℃以上から150℃以下の温度範囲にて、熱処理し、結晶化して、圧電特性を発生させたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の圧電膜である。
熱処理温度が、140℃未満であると、熱処理温度の不足により、十分な圧電特性が発生しない不具合が生じ、また熱処理温度が、150℃を超えると、圧電膜を劣化させる不具合が生ずる。
本発明の請求項3の圧電膜は、前記圧電膜は、耐熱性が140℃以上であり、破断歪みが、8%以上から55%以下の範囲にあって耐変形性に優れていることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の圧電膜である。
本発明の請求項4の圧電膜の製造方法は、フッ化ビニリデンが、82モル%以上から86モル%以下の範囲であって、分子量が60万/mol以上であるフッ化ビニリデンとトリフルオロエチレンとの共重合体と溶媒との溶液を、基板に塗布して、乾燥し、前記乾燥して形成した共重合体の膜を、140℃以上から150℃以下の温度範囲にて熱処理し、結晶化して、圧電特性を発生させたことを特徴とする圧電膜の製造方法である。
本発明の請求項5の圧電膜の製造方法は、前記圧電膜は、耐熱性が140℃以上であり、破断歪みが、8%以上から55%以下の範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項4記載の圧電膜の製造方法である。
請求項1,2,3の圧電膜によれば、耐熱性、耐変形性が、従来の圧電膜よりも優れた圧電膜を提供することができる。
請求項4,5の圧電膜の製造方法によれば、従来よりも優れた耐熱性、耐変形性を有する圧電膜の製造方法を提供することができる。
本発明によれば、圧電膜の耐熱性、および耐変形性が、従来の圧電膜よりも優れた圧電膜及びその製造方法を提供することである。
本発明の実施の形態による圧電膜は、フッ化ビニリデンとトリフルオロエチレンとの共重合体からなる圧電膜であって、フッ化ビニリデンが、82モル%以上から86モル%以下の範囲であって、分子量が60万/mol以上であることを特徴とする圧電膜である。

(実施例1)
図1は、圧電膜の製造方法の工程フロー図である。圧電膜の製造工程は、調液工程→塗布工程→乾燥工程→熱処理、結晶化→電極形成→分極の順番にて実施され、P(VDF/TrFE)圧電膜が作製される。

個々の工程の詳細な説明について、以下列記する。
調液工程
フッ化ビニリデン(VDF)と、トリフルオロエチレン(TrFE)との共重合体と、溶媒(DMF)との溶液を作製する。
塗布工程
基板となるPET基材を準備し、前記PET基材の上に、前記溶液を塗布する。常温での乾燥時の塗布膜の厚みは、50μmである。
乾燥工程
ホットプレートを使用し、80℃、1時間、ドラフト内で、大気下にて、塗布された膜を乾燥する。
熱処理、結晶化
オーブンにて、140℃以上から150℃以下の温度範囲にて膜を熱処理し、結晶化し、圧電特性を発生させる。
電極形成
抵抗加熱式の真空蒸着機を使用し、気圧1~3×10-5Paの範囲にてアルミを加熱蒸発させ、膜の両面に電極被膜を形成する。
分極
分極処理は、膜をシリコンオイル中に配置し、膜両面の電極間に直接、振幅120MV/m、周波数50mHzの三角波を5周期以上印加し行う。

表1より、分子量が60万/mol以上である発明品1、発明品2の圧電膜は、引張り強さが約40MPaであり、破断歪みが20~50%(発明品1)、10~40%(発明品2)である。一方、分子量が35.2万/mol以下である比較品1、比較品2の圧電膜は、引張り強さが約40MPaであり、破断歪みが5~15%(発明品1)、3~7%(発明品2)である。明らかに、発明品1、発明品2の圧電膜が、比較品よりも、破断歪みの値が高く、耐変形性に優れていることがわかる。
図2は、圧電膜(P(VDF/TrFE)(85/15))の応力(MPa)対歪(%)の関係を示すグラフである。分子量が大きいほど破断歪みが大きく、引っ張り強さが大きいつまり耐変形性に優れていることがわかる。分子量60万/mol以上の2サンプルは、破断歪みは18%以上で、分子量35万/molの2サンプルの8%以下の倍以上の耐変形性がある。
(実施例3)
図3は、圧電膜(P(VDF/TrFE)の各配合比の試料に関する、熱特性である。図3にて、圧電膜のVDF/TrFEの比率が、59/41,75/25,81/19の試料では、141℃以下にキュリー点に相当する吸熱ピークが存在している。
注) キュリー点
圧電性を示す強誘電相から、圧電性を示さない常誘電相への相転移温度一方、圧電膜のVDF/TrFEの比率が、85/15である2つの試料に関しては、融点である159℃までキュリー点に相当する吸熱ピークが無い。この結果より、圧電膜のVDF/TrFEの比率が85/15の試料は、高温耐熱性が優れていることが確認された。
図3は、圧電膜(P(VDF/TrFE)の各配合比の試料に関する、熱特性である。図3にて、圧電膜のVDF/TrFEの比率が、59/41,75/25,81/19の試料では、141℃以下にキュリー点に相当する吸熱ピークが存在している。
注) キュリー点
圧電性を示す強誘電相から、圧電性を示さない常誘電相への相転移温度一方、圧電膜のVDF/TrFEの比率が、85/15である2つの試料に関しては、融点である159℃までキュリー点に相当する吸熱ピークが無い。この結果より、圧電膜のVDF/TrFEの比率が85/15の試料は、高温耐熱性が優れていることが確認された。
図4は、圧電膜のVDF/TrFEの比率が85/15(高分子量)の試料と、75/25の試料の耐熱性の目安の一つであるキュリー点の比較データである。85/15(高分子量)結晶化膜の試料は、75/25結晶化膜の試料よりも、30℃以上耐熱性が良いことが確認された。
本発明によれば、耐熱性、および耐変形性が、従来の圧電膜よりも優れた圧電膜及びその製造方法を得ることができ、圧電膜を産業用の用途、自動車産業の用途(一具体例として、本圧電膜をタイヤの内面に配置して、タイヤに掛かる応力を測定するなど)に応用することができ、産業の発展に寄与する。
Claims (5)
- フッ化ビニリデンとトリフルオロエチレンとの共重合体からなる圧電膜であって、
フッ化ビニリデンが、82モル%以上から86モル%以下の範囲であって、
分子量が60万/mol以上であることを特徴とする圧電膜。 - 前記圧電膜は、基板に塗布して、乾燥し、前記乾燥して形成した共重合体の膜を140℃以上から150℃以下の温度範囲にて、熱処理し、結晶化して、圧電特性を発生させたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の圧電膜。
- 前記圧電膜は、耐熱性が140℃以上であり、
破断歪みが、8%以上から55%以下の範囲にあって耐変形性に優れていることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の圧電膜。 - フッ化ビニリデンが、82モル%以上から86モル%以下の範囲であって、分子量が60万/mol以上であるフッ化ビニリデンとトリフルオロエチレンとの共重合体と溶媒との溶液を、基板に塗布して、乾燥し、前記乾燥して形成した共重合体の膜を、140℃以上から150℃以下の温度範囲にて熱処理し、結晶化して、圧電特性を発生させたことを特徴とする圧電膜の製造方法。
- 前記圧電膜は、耐熱性が140℃以上であり、
破断歪みが、8%以上から55%以下の範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項4記載の圧電膜の製造方法。
