Description

石墨片及其製備方法 發明領域
本發明有關一種在水平/垂直方向上具有高的熱擴散係數比值且同時具有良好可撓性之石墨片,以及其製備方法。
發明背景
近年來,電子裝置更輕、更薄、更短以及更小,且亦高度整合成多功能,導致其中之熱密度增加。因此需要克服熱輻射之問題。熱輻射非常重要,因為其亦與裝置之可靠性以及使用夀命緊密相關。據此,已開發出各種的散熱器,且以散熱墊、散熱片、散熱漆等等之形式販售。其等輔助或取代像是散熱風扇、散熱針以及熱散管之習用散熱裝置。
散熱片可製作成石墨片、聚合陶瓷複合片、多塗層薄金屬片等等。石墨片輕薄且具有可與銅比擬,甚或更高的導熱性。因此,其等被用在電路板之間、電漿電視之PDP中等等。
製造薄膜形石墨之典型的例子,包括一種稱作 “石墨膨脹法”之方法。在此方法中,是藉由將天然石墨浸在濃硫酸與濃醋酸之混合物中,然後將其快速加熱而製得石墨。在清洗移除酸後,使用高壓壓制,將因此獲得之石墨壓成薄膜形狀。然而,因此製得之薄膜形石墨具有強度不足之缺點,其之其它物理特性亦不好,且有殘留的酸可能產生之不利的影響。
為了處理以上之缺點,已開發出一種藉由直接熱處理特定聚合物薄膜之石墨化方法(在下文中稱作“聚合物石墨化方法”)。在此方法中使用之聚合物薄膜包括,例如,聚噁二唑、聚醯胺、聚苯撐乙烯、聚苯并咪唑、聚苯并噁唑、聚噻唑以及聚醯胺薄膜。相較於習用之石墨膨脹法,聚合物石墨化方法非常簡單,其特徵為,其基本上不會牽涉到諸如酸之雜質,以及於此方法中產生之石墨具有接近單一結晶石墨之良好的導熱性或導電性(見日本早期公開專利公開案第Sho 60-181129號、Hei 7-109171號以及Sho 61-275116號)。
此外,在聚合物石墨化方法中,於聚合物薄膜中添加諸如碳奈米管之添加物,可改善石墨之機械特性(見日本專利案第5275721號)。
然而,相較於石墨膨脹法,聚合物石墨化方法很難製造厚的石墨薄膜。
雖然習用的石墨片在水平方向上具有高熱擴散係數(或導熱性),但其等在垂直方向上具低的熱擴散係數,且較為昂貴。
發明概要
本發明之一目的是提供一種藉由降低垂直方向上之熱擴散係數以及提高水平方向上之熱擴散係數,而在水平/垂直方向上具有高的熱擴散係數比值之石墨片,以及其製造方法。
本發明之另一目的是提供一種在水平/垂直方向上具有高的熱擴散係數比值,且同時具有良好可撓性之石墨片。
本發明提供一種在水平/垂直方向上具有熱擴散係數比值為300或更高之石墨片。
本發明提供一種在垂直方向上具有熱擴散係數為2.0mm2/s或更低之石墨片。
本發明提供一種用於製造石墨片之方法,其包含(1)提供一基底,其包含天然纖維、合成纖維或紙;(2)用一包含至少一種擇自於由聚合物、碳化聚合物以及石墨所構成之群組之塗佈溶液,第一次塗佈該基底之一側或二側;以及(3)利用熱處理該塗佈的基底,將其石墨化。
本發明提供一種石墨片,其包含一內層,其包含石墨纖維;以及一石墨外層,其覆蓋該內層之一側或二側。
本發明之石墨片在水平/垂直方向上具有高的熱 擴散係數比值,因為其在垂直方向上具有低熱擴散係數,而在水平方向上具有高熱擴散係數,且同時具有良好的可撓性。
此外,該石墨片可在使用相對便宜的纖維基底取代昂貴的聚醯亞胺薄膜(PI薄膜)之低製造成本下製得。

較佳實施例之詳細說明
本發明有關一種藉由熱處理(i)一基底,其包含天然纖維、合成纖維或紙,以及(ii)一塗層,其提供在該基底之一側或二側上,且包含至少一種擇自於由聚合物、碳化聚合物以及石墨所構成之群組,而獲得之石墨片。
在本發明之石墨片中,該基底可由天然纖維構成,而該天然纖維可大略分成纖維素纖維、蛋白質纖維以及礦物纖維。纖維素纖維可包括(i)種子纖維,諸如棉以及木棉、(ii)莖纖維,諸亞麻、宁麻、大麻以及黃麻、(iii)果實纖維,諸如椰纖維以及(iv)葉纖維,諸如馬尼拉麻(Manila hemp;abaca)以及劍麻。蛋白質纖維包括(i)羊毛纖維、(ii)絲纖維以及(iii)毛髮纖維。在組成本發明之石墨片之基底是由天然纖維構成之情況下,該天然纖維較佳地可為至少一種擇自於由棉、麻、羊毛以及絲所構成之群組之天然纖維。
此外,在本發明之石墨片中,該基底可由合成纖 維構成,該合成纖維可大略分成有機纖維以及無機纖維。有機纖維可包括(i)再生纖維,包括諸如嫘縈、Tencil纖維(或萊塞爾(lyocell))以及木代爾(Modale)之纖維素基纖維,以及蛋白質基纖維;(ii)半合成纖維,包括諸如醋酸酯以及三醋酸酯之纖維素基纖維,或(iii)合成纖維,諸如聚醯胺纖維、聚酯纖維、聚胺基甲酸酯纖維、聚乙烯纖維、聚氯乙烯纖維、聚氟乙烯纖維、聚乙烯醇纖維、丙烯酸纖維以及聚丙烯纖維。在組成本發明之石墨片之基底是由合成纖維構成之情況下,該合成纖維可為至少一種擇自於由下列所構成之群組之合成纖維:尼龍、聚酯、聚胺基甲酸酯、聚乙烯、聚氯乙烯、聚氟乙烯、聚乙烯醇、壓克力以及聚丙烯;或至少一種擇自於由螺縈、醋酸酯以及三醋酸酯所構成之群組之纖維素基纖維。
此外,在本發明之石墨片中,該基底可由紙構成。
在本發明之石墨片中,該塗層可包含聚合物。該聚合物可為至少一種擇自於由下列所構成之群組:聚醯亞胺、聚醯胺酸、聚氯乙烯、聚酯、聚胺基甲酸酯、聚乙烯、聚氟乙烯、聚乙烯醇、壓克力以及聚丙烯。特別地,該聚合物可為至少一種擇自於由下列所構成之群組:具有重量平均分子量為200,000-300,000之聚醯亞胺、聚醯胺酸以及聚氯乙烯。
在本發明之石墨片中,該塗層可包含碳化聚合物。該碳化聚合物可經由在諸如氮以及氬之惰性氣體環境中, 於800至1,800℃,特別是1,000至1,400℃之溫度下,熱處理聚合物而獲得。該碳化聚合物包含碳之數量,以該塗層之總數量計,可為90重量%或更多。視所使用之聚合物種類而定,該碳化聚合物中所含之碳的數量,以該聚合物一起開始之數量計,可為約2至50重量%。
在本發明之石墨片中,該塗層可包含石墨。該石墨可為天然石墨或膨脹石墨。該膨脹石墨指的是用硫酸、硝酸等等之混合物處理天然石墨、熱解石墨、凝析石墨等等,清洗、乾燥以及在約1,000℃之膨脹熔爐中將其膨脹所獲得之石墨。
在本發明之石墨片中,該塗層可包含至少一種擇自於由聚醯胺酸、聚醯亞胺以及石墨所構成之群組。
本發明之石墨片在水平/垂直方向上具有熱擴散係數比值為300或更高、400或更高或500或更高。特別是,該在水平/垂直方向上之熱擴散係數比值可為300至2,000;300至1,800;300至1,500;400至1,250;或500至1,000。
本發明之石墨片在水平方向上可具有熱擴散係數為100至1,000mm2/s、200至800mm2/s或400至600mm2/s。
本發明之石墨片在垂直方向上可具有熱擴散係數為2.0mm2/s或更低或1.0mm2/s或更低。特別是,該在垂直方向上之熱擴散係數可為0.1至1mm2/s、0.2至2mm2/s或0.3至2mm2/s。
此外,當依照MIT方法,在曲率半徑(R)為5mm、折疊角度為180度、負載量為0.98N以及折疊速度為90次/分 之條件下測試時,振盪折疊直到本發明之石墨片斷裂之次數為10,000次或更多次。
在本發明之一具體例中,本發明之石墨片之特徵在於,該基底之橫截面之形狀與組成該片之天然纖維、合成纖維或紙之形狀相同。例如,如圖1所示,在基底是由纖維素纖維構成之情況下,該石墨片之基底之橫截面與該纖維素纖維之形狀相同。
本發明提供一種製造石墨片之方法,其包含(1)提供一基底,其包含天然纖維、合成纖維或紙;(2)用一包含至少一種擇自於由聚合物、碳化聚合物以及石墨所構成之群組之塗佈溶液,第一次塗佈該基底之一側或二側;以及(3)利用熱處理該塗佈的基底,將其石墨化。
在本方法之步驟(2)中,可使用習用之塗佈方法,諸如滾壓方法、棒式塗佈方法、浸塗方法、噴塗方法等等。較佳的是滾壓方法或棒式塗佈方法。特別是,在使用具高黏度之液相聚醯胺酸作為塗佈溶液之情況下,滾壓方法最適合用於有效的塗佈基底。
在本發明之一具體例中,該石墨片之製造方法可另外包含在該第一次塗佈後,在該第一塗層上第二次塗佈相同的塗佈溶液。在此,進行該第一次塗佈主要之目的是用聚合物填滿棉織物中之間隙,而該第二次塗佈是用於調整塗佈厚度。較佳地,可進行該第二次塗佈一至三次。
在本發明之另一具體例中,該石墨片之製造方法可另外包含在該第一次塗佈後,輥軋該塗佈的基底。進行 輥軋之目的是為了使該塗層之厚度均一。
在本發明之另一具體例中,該塗佈溶液可包含聚醯胺酸,而該方法可另外包含在該第一次塗佈後醯亞胺化該塗佈的基底。
本方法之步驟(3)可包含碳化過程、石墨化過程以及後處理過程。
在碳化過程方面,該基底以及塗層在800至1,800℃,特別地在1,000至1,400℃,更特別地在約1,000℃下加熱1至20個小時後,可被碳化。
在石墨化過程方面,該碳化的基底層以及塗層在2,000至2,900℃,特別地約2,850℃下加熱1至20個小時後,可被石墨化而獲得石墨片。
在後處理過程方面,用酸或在壓力下後處理在石墨化過程中獲得之石墨片,可提供該石墨片可撓性。
該酸可為任何可插入石墨層之間,且產生酸離子(陰離子),供石墨結晶在C-軸方向上膨脹之材料。較佳的是硫酸。更佳的是濃度為95重量%或更高之濃硫酸溶液。例如,將石墨片浸在硫酸溶液中,若需要,加熱至供石墨層之間於C-軸方向上膨脹之典型的溫度,從而產生可撓性石墨片。
例如,可使用輥式壓制機施予壓力。
另外,本發明提供一種石墨片,其包含一內層,其包含石墨纖維;以及一石墨外層,其覆蓋該內層之一側或二側。
該內層可由數個石墨纖維束構成。該纖維束可包含該數個石墨纖維間所形成之孔。該內層可包含一織物,其中由石墨纖維或石墨纖維束所製成之緯紗與經紗是編織而成的。
該石墨外層包含一第一石墨外層,其覆蓋該石墨內層之一側,以及一第二石墨外層,其覆蓋該石墨內層之另一側。該第一石墨外層以及第二石墨外層可部分地彼此連接。
本發明之最佳範例
在下文中,是以範例之方式詳細說明本發明。下列之範例目的是進一步例示說明本發明,不是用於限制其範疇。
[範例]
範例1
(1)基底之製備
製備一平編棉織物(100su,150mm x 100mm,中國製),作為纖維素基纖維構成之基底。
(2)第一次塗佈以及第二次塗佈
利用滾壓方法,在25℃下,於該基底之二側上塗佈液相聚醯胺酸(製造商:KOLON PI,商標名稱:PAA Varnish,重量平均分子量:250,000),厚度175μm。於該第一塗層上塗佈相同的塗佈溶液,作為第二次塗佈,厚度150μm,從而產生一基底薄膜。
(3)醯亞胺化
將於步驟(2)中製得之基底薄膜置於氮環境中(壓力為約100托),溫度以1℃/min之速率提高。令該基底薄膜在約400℃下加熱約10個小時,產生厚度為140至160μm之醯亞胺化基底薄膜。
(4)碳化、石墨化以及後處理
將在步驟(3)中製得之醯亞胺化石墨薄膜置於氮氣或惰性氣體環境中(壓力為約100托),溫度以1℃/min之速率提高。令該醯亞胺化基底薄膜在約1,000℃下加熱約3個小時,使其碳化。之後將溫度以5℃/min之速率提高,然後令該碳化的基底薄膜在約2,600℃下加熱約1個小時,使其石墨化。至於後處理,使用輥軋法,在負載10噸下,壓制該石墨化的基底片,產生厚度為約40μm之石墨片。
範例2
依照範例1中所述相同之程序,但用螺縈織物取代棉織物,製造厚度為約40μm之石墨片。
比較範例1
依照範例1中所述相同的碳化、石墨化以及後處理,但使用聚醯亞胺薄膜(厚度為約75μm,製造商:KOLON PI,商品名稱:PI Film 75μm)作為範例1中之基底薄膜1,製造厚度為約40μm之石墨片
實驗例
<熱擴散係數之測量>
在範例以及比較例中所製得之石墨片之水平以及垂直方向上之熱擴散係數,是使用熱擴散係數測量裝置 (Netsch Co.製造,“LFA447 Nanoflash”),依照光交流電方法測量。詳細地,分別將石墨片切成Φ 25.4mm以及Φ 12.6mm之大小,然後在25℃下測量水平以及垂直方向上之熱擴散係數5次或更多次,以及計算其等之平均值。
<可撓性之測量>
在範例以及比較例中所製得之石墨片之可撓性,是利用MIT可撓性測試法評估。在MIT可撓性測試法方面,在曲率半徑(R)為5mm、折疊角度為180度、負載為0.98N以及折疊速度為90次/分之條件下,重複折疊寬20mm之四角試樣,直到其斷裂。可撓性是依照在MIT可撓性測試法中,振盪折疊直到斷裂時之次數作評估。
結果示以下表1中。

根據測量的結果,如表1所示,本發明之石墨片藉由維持水平方向上之高熱擴散係數以及垂直方向上之低擴散係數,而在水平/垂直方向上具有高的熱擴散係數比值。其亦確定,本發明之石墨片在水平/垂直方向上具有高的熱擴散係數比值,且同時具良好的可撓性。因為本發明之石墨片使用棉或螺縈織物作為基底,所以其等可以具經濟效 益之低成本方式產生。

Claims (8)

  1. 一種石墨片,其在水平/垂直方向上具有熱擴散係數比值為300或更高且其在垂直方向上具有熱擴散係數為1.0mm2/s或更低,其中當依照MIT測試法,在曲率半徑(R)為5mm、折疊角度為180度、負載量為0.98N以及折疊速度為90次/分之條件下測試時,振盪折疊直到該石墨片斷裂之次數為10,000次或更多次。
  2. 如請求項1之石墨片,其中該在水平/垂直方向上之熱擴散係數比值為500或更高。
  3. 一種製造石墨片之方法,該方法包含:(1)提供一基底,其包含天然纖維、合成纖維或紙;(2)用一包含至少一種擇自於由聚合物以及石墨所構成之群組之塗佈溶液,第一次塗佈該基底之一側或二側;(3)利用熱處理該經塗佈的基底,將其石墨化,在該第一次塗佈後,輥軋該經塗佈的基底,以及在該第一次塗佈後,在該第一塗層上第二次塗佈該塗佈溶液,其中該塗佈溶液包含聚醯胺酸,且該方法另外包含在該第一次塗佈後,醯亞胺化該經塗佈的基底。
  4. 如請求項3之製造石墨片之方法,其中該基底是由至少一種擇自於由棉、麻、羊毛以及絲所構成之群組之天然 纖維構成。
  5. 如請求項3之製造石墨片之方法,其中該基底是由至少一種擇自於由嫘縈、醋酸酯以及三醋酸酯所構成之群組之纖維素基纖維構成。
  6. 如請求項3之製造石墨片之方法,其中該基底是由至少一種擇自於由下列所構成之群組之合成纖維構成:尼龍、聚酯、聚胺基甲酸酯、聚乙烯、聚氯乙烯、聚氟乙烯、聚乙烯醇、壓克力以及聚丙烯。
  7. 一種石墨片,其包含一內層,該內層包含石墨纖維;以及一石墨外層,其覆蓋該內層之一側或二側,其中該石墨外層包含一第一石墨外層,其覆蓋該石墨內層之一側,以及一第二石墨外層,其覆蓋該石墨內層之另一側,以及該第一石墨外層以及該第二石墨外層部分地彼此連接,其中該內層是由包含數個石墨纖維之纖維束構成,且其中該纖維束包含該數個石墨纖維間所形成之孔。
  8. 如請求項7之石墨片,其中該內層包含一織物,其中由石墨纖維或石墨纖維束所構成之緯紗與經紗是經編織而成。
