Description

化学蓄熱装置
 本発明は、化学蓄熱装置に関する。
 従来の化学蓄熱装置として、例えば、特許文献1に記載された装置が知られている。特許文献1に記載の装置では、自動車の排気ガスが流れるガス通路管内に触媒体が配設される。その上流側に被吸着媒体(水)の吸着・脱離により発熱・吸熱する吸着剤を収納した第1容器が配設される。この第1容器と、被吸着媒体を収納する第2容器とが連通管で連通されている。第1容器は、中空の箱形状であり、上流側の端面から下流側の端面を貫通する貫通穴が複数形成されている。この各貫通穴には、熱交換用のフィンが設けられている。第1容器の内部(貫通穴以外の部分)には、吸着剤が充填されている。

 第1容器は、箱形状であるので、上流側の端面が平坦な面である。この平坦な端面に排気ガスが当たると、排気ガスの流れが乱れ、排気ガスが下流側にスムーズに流れない。そのため、排気ガスが通過する際の第1容器での圧力損失が増加する。圧力損失が大きくなるほど、エンジンで発生するエネルギの利用効率が低下する。また、排気ガスとの熱交換効率も低下するので、化学蓄熱装置の加熱効率も低下する。
 そこで、本発明の目的は、反応器での圧力損失の増加を抑えることができる化学蓄熱装置を提供することである。
 本発明の一側面に係る化学蓄熱装置は、流体を加熱する化学蓄熱装置であって、反応媒体との化学反応により発熱しかつ吸熱により反応媒体を脱離する蓄熱材と、蓄熱材を内部に収容する容器とを有する反応器と、反応媒体を貯蔵する貯蔵器と、反応器と貯蔵器とを連通し、反応器と貯蔵器との間で反応媒体を流通させる接続管とを備え、反応器は流体が流れる管内に配置されると共に流体の流れ方向に沿って設けられた上流側開口部と下流側開口部とを有する流体通路を有し、反応器の容器における流体の流れ方向の上流側には上流側開口部に隣接して配置されると共に上流側開口部から上流側に向かうにつれて細くなる突出部が設けられている。
 この化学蓄熱装置では、反応器の容器の上流側に突出部が設けられている。従って、この突出部による整流作用により、容器の上流側に流れてきた流体が下流側にスムーズに流れ易くなる。これにより、化学蓄熱装置では、反応器での圧力損失の増加を抑えることができる。
 本発明の他の側面に係る化学蓄熱装置では、反応器は、流体通路に、蓄熱材と流体との間で熱交換を促進するための熱交換部を備えていてもよい。この構成の場合、突出部の整流作用により、容器の上流側に流れてきた流体が熱交換部内にスムーズに流れ込む。これにより、熱交換部での流体との熱交換効率が向上し、反応器の加熱効率及び蓄熱効率が向上する。
 本発明の他の側面に係る化学蓄熱装置では、反応器は、複数個の蓄熱材と複数個の熱交換部とを備え、蓄熱材と熱交換部とが交互に配置されていてもよい。この構成の場合、蓄熱材に挟まれた熱交換部での熱交換効率が向上し、反応器の加熱効率及び蓄熱効率が更に向上する。
 本発明の他の側面に係る化学蓄熱装置では、突出部は容器と一体で形成され、突出部の内部には蓄熱材が収容されていてもよい。この構成の場合、突出部内にも蓄熱材が収容されているので、反応器の発熱量及び蓄熱量が増加する。
 本発明の他の側面に係る化学蓄熱装置では、流体が内燃機関から排出される排気ガスであってもよい。この構成の場合、排気ガスが通過する際の反応器での圧力損失の増加が抑えられるので、内燃機関で発生するエネルギの利用効率の低下を抑えることができる。
 本発明によれば、反応器での圧力損失の増加を抑えることができる。

 以下、図面を参照して、本発明の実施形態に係る化学蓄熱装置を説明する。なお、各図において同一又は相当する要素については同一の符号を付し、重複する説明を省略する。
 実施形態は、車両のエンジン(内燃機関)の排気系に設けられる排気ガス浄化システムに備えられる化学蓄熱装置に適用される。実施形態に係る排気ガス浄化システムは、エンジン(特に、ディーゼルエンジン)から排出される排気ガス(流体)中に含まれる有害物質(環境汚染物質)を浄化するシステムである。排気ガス浄化システムは、触媒のDOC[Diesel Oxidation Catalyst]、SCR[SelectiveCatalytic Reduction]とASC[Ammonia Slip Catalyst]及びフィルタのDPF[Diesel Particulate Filter]を備えている。さらに、実施形態に係る排気ガス浄化システムは、触媒暖機用に化学蓄熱装置を備えている。
 図1を参照して、一実施形態に係る排気ガス浄化システム1の全体構成について説明する。図1は、一実施形態に係る排気ガス浄化システム1の概略構成図である。
 排気ガス浄化システム1は、エンジン2の排気側に接続された排気管3の上流側から下流側に向けて、DOC(ディーゼル酸化触媒)4、DPF(ディーゼル排気微粒子除去フィルタ)5、SCR(選択還元触媒)6、ASC(アンモニアスリップ触媒)7が設けられている。排気管3、DOC4、DPF5、SCR6、ASC7の内部には、エンジン2から排出された排気ガスが流れる。この排気ガスの流れる方向により、上流側及び下流側が規定される。
 DOC4は、排気ガス中に含まれるHC、COなどを酸化する触媒である。DPF5は、排気ガス中に含まれるPMを捕集して取り除くフィルタである。SCR6は、排気管3内のSCR6の上流側にアンモニア(NH)あるいは尿素水(加水分解してアンモニアが発生)が供給されると、アンモニアと排気ガス中に含まれるNOxとを化学反応させることで、NOxを還元して浄化する触媒である。ASC7は、SCR6をすり抜けて下流側に流れたアンモニアを酸化する触媒である。
 各触媒4,6,7には、環境汚染物質に対する浄化能力を発揮できる温度領域(すなわち、活性温度)がある。各触媒4,6,7の温度が活性温度よりも低くなっている場合(例えば、エンジン2の冷間始動時)、各触媒4,6,7では十分な浄化能力を発揮することができない。また、エンジン2から排出された排気ガスにより触媒を暖機する場合、エンジン2の冷間始動直後は、排気ガスの温度が比較的低温であるので、触媒を迅速に暖めることができない。そこで、排気ガス浄化システム1は、最上流の触媒であるDOC4よりも上流側で排気ガスを暖めて触媒暖機を行うために、化学蓄熱装置10を備えている。
 化学蓄熱装置10は、可逆的な化学反応を利用して、外部エネルギレスで加熱対象を加熱(暖機)する装置である。具体的には、化学蓄熱装置10は、加熱対象から供給される熱により蓄熱材から脱離する反応媒体を蓄えておく。化学蓄熱装置10は、その蓄えられた反応媒体を必要なときに蓄熱材に供給することで、蓄熱材と反応媒体とを化学反応させて化学反応時の反応熱(放熱)を利用して加熱対象を暖める装置である。即ち、化学蓄熱装置10は、可逆的な化学反応を利用して、加熱対象からの熱を蓄えるとともに、加熱対象に熱を供給する装置である。本実施形態では、加熱対象が排気ガスであり、反応媒体はアンモニアである。
 図1に加えて図2~図4を参照して、化学蓄熱装置10について詳細に説明する。図2は、図1の熱交換部付き反応器11の斜視図である。図3は、図1の熱交換部付き反応器11の正断面図である。図4は、図1の熱交換部付き反応器11の側断面図である。
 化学蓄熱装置10は、熱交換部付き反応器11と、貯蔵器12と、接続管13と、バルブ14とを備えている。熱交換部付き反応器11は、エンジン2とDOC4との間に配置されている。熱交換部付き反応器11は、ヒータとして機能する。熱交換部付き反応器11は、最上流に配置される触媒であるDOC4よりも上流側で熱交換部を介して排気ガスを加熱する。加熱により昇温された排気ガスは、下流の各触媒(DOC4、SCR6、ASC7)の内部に流れる。これにより、各触媒は、暖機される。
 熱交換部付き反応器11について説明する。熱交換部付き反応器11は、管20と、2個の蓋部材21,22と、複数個の熱交換部23と、複数個の蓄熱材24と、断熱材25とを備えている。図3に示すように、複数個の熱交換部23と複数個の蓄熱材24とは、交互に積層して配置され、積層体26を形成している。積層体26の両端部(積層方向の最外部)には、蓄熱材24が配置されている。したがって、蓄熱材24の個数が、熱交換部23の個数よりも1個多い。なお、図3等で示す例では熱交換部23の個数を3個、蓄熱材24の個数を4個としているが、特にこれに限定されず、熱交換部23及び蓄熱材24の個数は適宜の個数としてよい。また、積層体26の端部には、熱交換部23が配置されてもよい。
 管20は、積層体26を取り囲む管である。管20は、断面円形の円筒状である。管20は、排気管3の径よりも大きい径である。管20の上流側は、排気管3とテーパ管30を介して連結されている。管20の下流側は、排気管3とテーパ管31を介して連結されている。管20の上流側の端部には、蓋部材21が接合されている。管20の下流側の端部には、蓋部材22が接合されている。蓋部材21,22は、管20の形状に対応した円形の板状である。管20及び蓋部材21,22は、例えば、ステンレス鋼(SUS)により形成されている。
 熱交換部23は、加熱対象としての排気ガスを流通させる流路を形成すると共に、排気ガスと蓄熱材24との間で熱交換を行う。熱交換部23は、積層体26の積層方向に隣り合う蓄熱材24と蓄熱材24との間に配置されている。複数個の熱交換部23の幅方向(排気ガスの流れ方向と直交しかつ積層体26の積層方向と直交する方向)の各長さは、図3に示すように、円筒状の管20の内周面20aに沿うようにそれぞれ設定されている。具体的には、複数個の熱交換部23の幅方向の長さは、積層体26の積層方向の中央側から端部側に配置される熱交換部23ほど短くなっている。複数個の熱交換部23の排気ガスの流れ方向の長さは、全て同じ長さであり、管20の長さと略同じ長さである。
 熱交換部23は、金属製のチューブ23aと、チューブ23a内に配置された金属製のフィン23bとを有している。チューブ23aは、この実施形態では扁平の角筒状に形成されている。チューブ23aの上流側の端部及び下流側の端部は、開口している。図4に示すように、このチューブ23aの開口部23cに対応して、蓋部材21には上流側開口部である貫通孔21aが形成され,蓋部材22には下流側開口部である貫通孔22aが形成されている。この蓋部材21,22の貫通孔21a,22a及びチューブ23aの開口部23cにより、熱交換部付き反応器11内に排気ガスが流れる流体通路29が形成されている。チューブ23aの上流側の端部、下流側の端部は、蓋部材21の貫通孔21a、蓋部材22の貫通孔22aにそれぞれ嵌め込まれた状態で、蓋部材21、蓋部材22に溶接又はろう付けなどによりそれぞれ接合されている。これにより、排気ガスが、チューブ23a内を通り抜けることが可能となる。フィン23bは、排気ガスと蓄熱材24との熱交換を促進するための部材である。フィン23bは、例えば、断面波状である。フィン23bは、チューブ23aの内壁面に溶接又はろう付けなどにより接合されている。チューブ23a及びフィン23bは、例えば、ステンレス鋼により形成されている。
 このように、熱交換部付き反応器11は、管20の上流端部及び下流端部に蓋部材21,22が接合され、この蓋部材21,22の間に複数個の熱交換部23が配設されている。複数個の蓄熱材24は、この管20と蓋部材21,22で形成される円柱状のスペースのうちの複数個の熱交換部23が配置される部分を除いたスペースに収容されている。したがって、熱交換部付き反応器11では、管20、蓋部材21,22及び複数個の熱交換部23(特に、チューブ23a)により、複数個の蓄熱材24が収容される容器27が形成されている。この構造の場合、排気ガスが流れる管20が、熱交換部付き反応器11の容器27の一部(外周部)を兼ねている。
 蓄熱材24は、積層体26の積層方向に隣り合う熱交換部23と熱交換部23との間に設けられた蓄熱材部24aまたは積層方向の端部に設けられた蓄熱材部24aに配置されている。蓄熱材24の幅方向の各長さは、図3に示すように、円筒状の管20の内周面20aに沿うようにそれぞれ設定されている。複数個の蓄熱材24の排気ガスの流れ方向の長さは、全て同じ長さであり、管20よりも少し短い長さである。
 蓄熱材24は、紛体材料をペレット状にプレス成型したプレス成型体である。ここでは、各蓄熱材24は、扁平の略直方体形状にプレス成型したものとして構成されている。なお、蓄熱材24は複数個に分割されたペレットから構成してもよい。蓄熱材24は、反応媒体としてのアンモニアを供給するとアンモニアと化学反応(化学吸着)して発熱する。また、アンモニアが化学吸着された蓄熱材24は、高温となった排気ガスにより熱交換部23を介して加熱されると、その熱を吸熱してアンモニアを脱離する。蓄熱材24としては、組成式MXaで表されるハロゲン化合物が用いられる。Mは、Mg、Ca、Srなどのアルカリ土類金属、若しくはCr、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni、Cu、Znなどの遷移金属である。Xは、Cl、Br、Iなどである。aは、Mの価数により特定される数であり、2、3である。蓄熱材24には、熱伝導性を向上させる添加物が混合されていてもよい。添加物としては、例えば、カーボンファイバ、カーボンビーズ、SiCビーズ、金属ビーズ、高分子ビーズ、高分子ファイバである。金属ビーズの金属材料としては、例えば、Cu、Ag、Ni、Ci-Cr、Al、Fe、ステンレス鋼である。
 断熱材25は、管20の内周面20aと積層体26との間に介在している。断熱材25の外周面側は、管20の内周面20aに沿った形状である。断熱材25の内周面側は、積層体26の縁部に沿った形状である。断熱材25は、例えば、硬質のセラミック材料で形成されている。このような断熱材25を蓄熱材24の外側に設けることにより、蓄熱材24で発生した熱が管20の外部に逃げにくくなる。なお、断熱材25を熱交換部付き反応器11の外側に配置するようにしてもよい。
 さらに、熱交換部付き反応器11は、排気ガスの流れがスムーズになるように、容器27の上流側の蓋部材21に複数個の突出部28が設けられている。突出部28は内部の蓄熱材24に対応して設けられるので、突出部28の個数は蓄熱材24の個数と同じ個数である。
 突出部28は、容器27の上流側端部(特に、内部に蓄熱材24が配置されている部分)に流れてきた排気ガスを熱交換部23内に流れ込むように案内する部材である。複数個の突出部28は、蓋部材21の貫通孔21aにそれぞれ隣接して、容器27内の複数個の蓄熱材24が配置される各位置にそれぞれ対応して配置されている。複数個の突出部28の幅方向の各長さは、対応する蓄熱材24の各長さと略同じ長さである。
 突出部28は、幅方向に沿って延びる三角柱である。したがって、突出部28は、下流側(蓋部材21の貫通孔21a)から上流側に向かうにつれて細くなる形状(積層方向の長さが短くなる形状)となっている。突出部28の下流側端部での積層方向の長さは、蓄熱材24の長さと略同じ長さである。三角柱の断面形状は、複数個の突出部28で全て同じ形状としてよいし、複数個の突出部28が配置される位置に応じて異なる形状としてもよい。例えば、図4等に示すように、積層方向の端部に配置される突出部28A,28Dについては断面形状を直角二等辺三角形とし、積層方向の中間部に配置される突出部28B,28Cについては断面形状を正三角形としている。特に、上端部の突出部28Aの断面形状は、排気ガスを下方に案内する向きに斜辺が配置されている直角二等辺三角形である。下端部の突出部28Dの断面形状は、排気ガスを上方に案内する向きに斜辺が配置されている直角二等辺三角形である。突出部28の断面の三角形は、これに特に限定されず、例えば、先端部の角度が正三角形よりも鋭角な二等辺三角形や直角二等辺三角形よりも鋭角な直角三角形としてもよいし、二等辺三角形以外の三角形としてもよい。また、複数個の突出部28の断面形状を全て同じ三角形(例えば、全て正三角形)としてもよい。
 突出部28は、中空の三角柱である。中空とすることにより、突出部28の熱容量を小さくできる。突出部28は、例えば、ステンレス鋼により形成されている。突出部28は、蓋部材21に溶接又はろう付けなどにより接合されている。
 貯蔵器12について説明する。貯蔵器12は、吸着材12aを有している。吸着材12aは、アンモニアを物理吸着により保持し、かつ、圧力に応じてアンモニアを脱離(分離)する。吸着材12aとしては、例えば、活性炭が用いられる。貯蔵器12では、暖機時にアンモニアを吸着材12aから脱離させて熱交換部付き反応器11(蓄熱材24)に供給するとともに、暖機終了後には蓄熱材24から脱離したアンモニアを吸着材12aに物理吸着させることで回収する。なお、吸着材12aとしては、活性炭に限られず、例えば、メソポーラスシリカ、メソポーラスカーボン、メソポーラスアルミナなどのメソ孔を有するメソポーラス材、または、ゼオライト、シリカゲルを用いてもよい。
 接続管13について説明する。接続管13は、熱交換部付き反応器11と貯蔵器12とを接続する管である。接続管13は、熱交換部付き反応器11と貯蔵器12との間でアンモニアを流通させる流路となる。接続管13の熱交換部付き反応器11側の一端部は、図3に示すように、管20に形成されている貫通孔20bに挿入された状態で、管20に溶接又はろう付けなどより接合されている。断熱材25には、この貫通孔20bの位置に対応して、貫通孔25aが形成されている。断熱材25の内周面側には、アンモニアを周方向に流れ易くするために、環状の溝部25bが形成されている。この溝部25bは、貫通孔25aに連通されている。
 バルブ14について説明する。バルブ14は、熱交換部付き反応器11と貯蔵器12との間のアンモニアの流路を開閉するバルブである。バルブ14は、接続管13の途中に配設されている。バルブ14が開かれると、接続管13を介して熱交換部付き反応器11と貯蔵器12とが連通し、アンモニアの移動が可能となる。バルブ14の開閉制御は、化学蓄熱装置10の専用のコントローラあるいはエンジン2を制御するECU[Electronic Control Unit]などで行われる。バルブ14は、例えば、電磁式のノーマリクローズのバルブであり、電圧印加時に開く。
 このように構成された化学蓄熱装置10の動作について説明する。化学蓄熱装置10では、エンジン2から排出された排気ガスの温度が所定温度(触媒の活性温度に基づいて設定された温度)より低いときに(例えば、エンジン2の始動直後)、ECUなどによる制御によりバルブ14が開かれる。これにより、アンモニアが充填された圧力の高い貯蔵器12と貯蔵器12よりも圧力の低い熱交換部付き反応器11とが連通されることにより、貯蔵器12の吸着材12aからアンモニアが脱離する。吸着材12aから脱離したアンモニアは、接続管13内を流れて熱交換部付き反応器11側に移動し、熱交換部付き反応器11の容器27内に供給される。熱交換部付き反応器11では、供給されたアンモニアと各蓄熱材24とがそれぞれ化学反応し、熱を発生させる(発熱反応)。この各蓄熱材24で発生した熱は、各熱交換部23に伝導される。各熱交換部23では、蓄熱材24からの熱をチューブ23a内を流れる排気ガスに与える。即ち、熱交換部23は、蓄熱材24と排気ガスとの間で熱交換する。これにより、排気ガスが、昇温する。この化学蓄熱装置10で昇温された排気ガスが下流側に流れることで、各触媒(DOC4、SCR6、ASC7)が暖機される。これにより、各触媒は、迅速に活性温度以上に昇温される。
 暖機終了後、エンジン2の稼働がある程度継続すると、エンジン2から排出された排気ガスの温度が高くなる。この温度が高くなった排気ガスが各熱交換部23のチューブ23a内に入ると、排気ガスの熱(排熱)が各熱交換部23に伝導される。排気ガスの熱により加熱された各熱交換部23によって、蓄熱材24が加熱される。即ち、熱交換部23は、排気ガスと蓄熱材24との間で熱交換する。このとき、アンモニアを化学吸着している蓄熱材24は、排ガスの熱を吸熱してアンモニアを脱離する。これにより、熱交換部付き反応器11内では、アンモニアが発生する(再生反応)。この再生反応に伴い、ECUなどによる制御により、バルブ14が開かれる。これにより、熱交換部付き反応器11の容器27内で発生したアンモニアは、接続管13内を流れて貯蔵器12側に移動し、貯蔵器12に回収される。貯蔵器12では、吸着材12aでアンモニアを吸着して貯蔵する。
 特に、図4を参照して、エンジン2から排出された排気ガスが熱交換部付き反応器11を通過する際の排気ガスの流れについて説明する。図4で示す各矢印は、排気ガスが流れを示している。管20内の熱交換部23A,23B,23Cが配置される部分に流れてきた排気ガスは、熱交換部23A,23B,23Cの各チューブ23a内に流れ込む。
 一方、管20内の蓄熱材24A,24B,24C,24Dが配置される部分に流れてきた排気ガスは、突出部28A,28B,28C,28Dの各斜面28a,28b,28c,28dに当たる。突出部28Aの斜面28aに当たった排気ガスは、斜面28aに沿って下流側に向かうにつれて下方に流れる。また、排気ガスは、突出部28Aの下側に配置されている熱交換部23Aのチューブ23a内にスムーズに流れ込む。突出部28Bの各斜面28b,28bに当たった排気ガスは、各斜面28b,28bに沿って下流側に向かうにつれて上方又は下方に流れる。また、排気ガスは、突出部28Bの上側に配置されている熱交換部23Aのチューブ23a内又は下側に配置されている熱交換部23Bのチューブ23a内にスムーズに流れ込む。突出部28Cの各斜面28c,28cに当たった排気ガスは、各斜面28c,28cに沿って下流側に向かうにつれて上方又は下方に流れ、突出部28Cの上側に配置されている熱交換部23Bのチューブ23a内又は下側に配置されている熱交換部23Cのチューブ23a内にスムーズに流れ込む。突出部28Dの斜面28dに当たった排気ガスは、斜面28dに沿って下流側に向かうにつれて上方に流れる。排気ガスは、突出部28Dの上側に配置されている熱交換部23Cのチューブ23a内にスムーズに流れ込む。このように、管20内に配置される容器27の上流側端部(内部に蓄熱材24A,24B,24C,24Dが配置される部分)に流れてきた排気ガスも、下流(熱交換部23A、23B,23Cの各チューブ23a内)にスムーズに流れる。
 ここで、図6を参照して、突出部28を備えない熱交換部付き反応器100を通過する際の排気ガスの流れについて説明する。図6は、従来の化学蓄熱装置の熱交換部付き反応器100の側断面図である。熱交換部付き反応器100は、熱交換部付き反応器11に対して、蓋部材21に突出部28が設けられていない点だけが異なる。管20内の熱交換部23A,23B,23Cが配置される部分に流れてきた排気ガスは、熱交換部付き反応器11と同様に、熱交換部23A,23B,23Cの各チューブ23a内に流れ込む。しかし、管20内の蓄熱材24A,24B,24C,24Dが配置される部分に流れてきた排気ガスは、蓋部材21の平坦な面(排気ガスの流れ方向に対して略直交する面)に当たる。この平坦な面に当たった排気ガスは、流れが乱れ、下流側にスムーズに流れない。そのため、排気ガスが通過する際の熱交換部付き反応器100での圧力損失が増加する。この圧力損失が大きくなるほど、エンジン2で発生するエネルギの利用効率が低下する。そのため、車両の燃費が悪化すると共に、エンジン2の出力も低下する。また、排気ガスが熱交換部23A,23B,23Cの各チューブ23a内に流れ込み難くなっているので、熱交換部23A,23B,23Cでの排気ガスと蓄熱材24A,24B,24C,24Dとの熱交換効率が低下する。そのため、熱交換部付き反応器100では、加熱効率及び蓄熱効率が低下する。
 この化学蓄熱装置10によれば、熱交換部付き反応器11の容器27の上流側の蓋部材21に断面形状が三角形の突出部28が設けられている。従って、この突出部28による整流作用により、容器27の上流側に流れてきた排気ガスが下流側にスムーズに流れ易くなる。そのため、化学蓄熱装置10では、排気ガスが通過する際の熱交換部付き反応器11での圧力損失の増加を抑えることができる。
 化学蓄熱装置10では、熱交換部23と蓄熱材24とを積層した熱交換部付き反応器11としている。従って、突出部28の整流作用により、容器27の上流側(内部に蓄熱材24が配置される部分)に流れてきた排気ガスが蓄熱材24に隣接する熱交換部23のチューブ23a内(流体通路29内)にスムーズに流れ込む。これにより、蓄熱材24,24に挟まれた各熱交換部23では、排気ガスと蓄熱材24と間の熱交換効率が向上する。そのため、熱交換部付き反応器11では、加熱効率及び蓄熱効率が向上する。
 化学蓄熱装置10では、エンジン2の排気ガスが通過する際の圧力損失の増加が抑えられるので、エンジン2で発生するエネルギの利用効率の低下を抑えることができる。そのため、圧力損失による車両の燃費の悪化を抑えることができるとともに、エンジン2の出力の低下も抑えることができる。
 以上、本発明の実施形態について説明したが、上記実施形態に限定されることなく様々な形態で実施される。
 例えば、上記実施形態では車両のディーゼルエンジンから排出される排気ガスを加熱(暖機)する化学蓄熱装置に適用したが、特にこれに限られず、ガソリンエンジンから排出される排気ガスを加熱する化学蓄熱装置などに適用してもよい。また、エンジン以外にも、ごみ焼却工場、発電所、各種プラント工場などに化学蓄熱装置を適用してもよい。また、上記実施形態では排気ガスを加熱する化学蓄熱装置に適用したが、排気ガス以外にも、気体状または液体状の流体(例えば、オイル(エンジンオイル、変速機オイル等)、水、空気、水蒸気)を加熱する化学蓄熱装置に適用してもよい。これらの他の流体の場合も、反応器の容器の上流側端部が平坦な面であると圧力損失が大きくなる。そこで、容器の上流側端部に断面形状が三角形等の突出部を設けることにより、圧力損失の増加を抑えることができる。
 また、上記実施形態ではチューブ内にフィンを設けた熱交換部とし、チューブとチューブとの間に蓄熱材を配置した積層体としたが、チューブ内に蓄熱材を収容し、チューブとチューブとの間に熱交換部(フィン)を配置した積層体としてもよい。この構成の一例を、図5を参照して説明する。図5は、他の実施形態に係る化学蓄熱装置の熱交換部付き反応器41の側断面図である。
 熱交換部付き反応器41は、管50と、2個の蓋部材51,52と、複数個の熱交換部53と、複数個の蓄熱材54と、断熱材55とを備えている。複数個の熱交換部53と複数個の蓄熱材54とは、交互に積層され、積層体56を形成している。管50、蓋部材51,52、断熱材55は、上記実施形態の管20、蓋部材21,22、断熱材25と同様のものである。但し、蓋部材51,52には、蓄熱材54が配置される部分も貫通孔となっている。蓄熱材54は、扁平の角筒状のチューブ54aに収容されている。したがって、チューブ54aが、蓄熱材54を収容する容器となっている。熱交換部付き反応器41には、各チューブ54a内にそれぞれアンモニアを供給するための部材(図示せず)が適宜設けられ、その部材に応じて所定の箇所に接続管(図示せず)が取り付けられている。熱交換部53のフィン53bは、上側のチューブ54aと下側のチューブ54aと間に配置され、この両側のチューブ54a,54aに溶接又はろう付けなどにより接合されている。チューブ54aの上流側の端部及び下流側の端部は、閉じられている。特に、チューブ54aの上流側の端部には、排気ガスを熱交換部53内に流れ込むように案内する突出部58が一体で形成されている。突出部58は、蓋部材21よりも上流側に突き出ており、断面形状が三角形である。蓄熱材54は、このチューブ54aの突出部58の内部にも収容されている。この熱交換部付き反応器41を備える化学蓄熱装置は、上記実施形態に係る化学蓄熱装置10と同様の作用効果を有する。特に、熱交換部付き反応器41では、突出部58の内部にも蓄熱材54が収容されているので、蓄熱材54の量が多くなり、発熱量及び蓄熱量が増加する。
 また、上記実施形態では熱交換部を備え、熱交換部を介して排気ガスを加熱する構成としたが、フィン等を設けずに、熱交換部を備えない構成としてもよい。また、上記実施形態では熱交換部と蓄熱材とを積層する構造としたが、熱交換部と蓄熱材(反応器)との配置構造についても積層構造以外の構造としてもよい。例えば、反応器の外周部を取り囲むように熱交換部を配置させる構造とする。
 また、上記実施形態では断面形状が三角形の突出部を示したが、排気ガスの流れがスムーズになるような形状であれば特に限定されず、例えば、断面形状が半円形の突出部、断面形状が半楕円形の突出部、断面形状が台形(特に、上底部が短いほどよい)の突出部とする。また、上記実施形態では幅方向に沿って延びる三角柱の突出部を示したが、反応器等の形状によっては上流側に向かうにつれて細くなる角錐形、円錐形、半球形等の突出部としてもよい。
 また、上記実施形態では突出部を容器の上流側端部に設ける構成としたが、容器の下流側端部にも下流側に向かうにつれて細くなる突出部を設けてもよい。このように反応器の下流側端部にも突出部を設けることにより、熱交換部から出た後の排気ガスの流れをよりスムーズにできる。
 また、上記実施形態では反応媒体をアンモニアとしたが、アルコール、水などの他の反応媒体でもよい。また、上記実施形態では反応媒体がアンモニアの場合の蓄熱材、吸着材の各材料をそれぞれ例示したが、化学蓄熱装置で用いられる反応媒体に適した蓄熱材、吸着材を適宜用いるとよい。

Claims (5)

  1.  流体を加熱する化学蓄熱装置であって、
     反応媒体との化学反応により発熱しかつ吸熱により前記反応媒体を脱離する蓄熱材と、前記蓄熱材を内部に収容する容器とを有する反応器と、
     前記反応媒体を貯蔵する貯蔵器と、
     前記反応器と前記貯蔵器とを連通し、前記反応器と前記貯蔵器との間で前記反応媒体を流通させる接続管と、
     を備え、
     前記反応器は、前記流体が流れる管内に配置されると共に、前記流体の流れ方向に沿って設けられた上流側開口部と下流側開口部とを有する流体通路を有し、
     前記反応器の前記容器における前記流体の流れ方向の上流側には、前記上流側開口部に隣接して配置されると共に前記上流側開口部から前記上流側に向かうにつれて細くなる突出部が設けられている、化学蓄熱装置。
  2.  前記反応器は、前記流体通路に、前記蓄熱材と前記流体との間で熱交換を促進するための熱交換部を備える、請求項1に記載の化学蓄熱装置。
  3.  前記反応器は、複数個の前記蓄熱材と複数個の前記熱交換部とを備え、前記蓄熱材と前記熱交換部とが交互に配置されている、請求項2に記載の化学蓄熱装置。
  4.  前記突出部は、前記容器と一体で形成され、
     前記突出部の内部には、前記蓄熱材が収容されている、請求項1~請求項3の何れか一項に記載の化学蓄熱装置。
  5.  前記流体は、内燃機関から排出される排気ガスである、請求項1~請求項4の何れか一項に記載の化学蓄熱装置。
