 この点、特許文献1の構成では、散布量調整ボリュームにより基準散布量を飛行中に調整することで、散布量を局所的に変化させることが可能であると考えられる。しかしながら、ヘリコプター等の飛行体は比較的に高速で飛行するため、生育等の局所的なバラツキに応じて地上側のオペレータが散布量をキメ細かくかつ正確に手動操作で加減することは極めて難しく、この点で改善の余地が残されていた。
 本発明は以上の事情に鑑みてされたものであり、その目的は、高速で移動しながら散布を効率的に行うとともに、作物の生育等のバラツキに対応して散布量を局所的に自動的に変化させることが可能な空中散布装置を提供することにある。
課題を解決するための手段及び効果
 本発明の解決しようとする課題は以上の如くであり、次にこの課題を解決するための手段とその効果を説明する。
 本発明の観点によれば、以下の構成の空中散布装置が提供される。即ち、空中散布装置は、飛行しながら圃場に散布対象物を散布する。この空中散布装置は、散布部と、必要散布量分布情報入力部と、位置情報取得部と、必要散布量取得部と、散布量制御部と、を備える。前記散布部は、散布対象物を散布するとともに、単位時間当たりの散布量を変更可能である。前記必要散布量分布情報入力部は、散布対象の圃場を細分化した単位ごとに前記散布対象物を散布すべき量を定めた必要散布量分布情報を入力可能である。前記位置情報取得部は、自機の位置を取得する。前記必要散布量取得部は、前記位置情報取得部で取得した自機の位置における散布対象物の必要散布量を前記必要散布量分布情報に基づいて取得する。前記散布量制御部は、前記散布部における単位時間当たりの散布量を、前記必要散布量に基づいて制御する。
 これにより、圃場の上空を高速で飛行しながら、予め入力された必要散布量分布情報に基づいて、作物の生育等のバラツキに対応して散布量を局所的にかつ正確に変化させながら散布対象物を散布することができる。従って、圃場における局所的な管理を容易かつ的確に行うことができる。
 前記の空中散布装置においては、以下の構成とすることが好ましい。即ち、この空中散布装置は、自機の飛行速度を取得する速度情報取得部を備える。前記散布量制御部は、前記速度情報取得部で得られた飛行速度が増加すれば前記散布部における単位時間当たりの散布量を増加させ、前記飛行速度が減少すれば前記散布部における単位時間当たりの散布量を減少させるように制御する。
 これにより、飛行速度の変動の影響を抑えることができるので、必要散布量分布情報で定められた必要散布量を正確に実現することができる。
 前記の空中散布装置においては、前記散布量制御部は、前記必要散布量と、前記速度情報取得部で得られた飛行速度と、の何れにも実質的に比例するように、前記散布部における単位時間当たりの散布量を制御することが好ましい。
 これにより、単純な制御によって、必要散布量分布情報で定められた必要散布量を一層正確に実現することができる。

 次に、図面を参照して本発明の実施の形態を説明する。初めに、本実施形態の空中散布装置が散布量を制御するために必要とする施肥量マップ(必要散布量分布情報)について説明する。
 本実施形態の空中散布装置(後述のヘリコプター30)は、圃場全体における作物(本実施形態においては、水稲)の生育を評価することにより作成された施肥量マップに基づいて施肥を行う施肥システムに用いられるものである。
 上記の施肥量マップは、図1に示すように、マルチスペクトルカメラ20を搭載したマルチコプター(飛行体)10を用いて、対象の圃場1をマルチコプター10で飛行しながらマルチスペクトルカメラ20で圃場1を撮影し、これに基づいて正規化差植生指数(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index、NDVI)の分布データを得ることにより作成することができる。
 マルチコプター10は、プロペラ(ロータ)11を複数個(例えば、6つ)搭載する無人マルチコプターとして構成されており、無線による遠隔操縦が可能になっている。また、マルチコプター10は、プロペラ11を駆動するための駆動源(例えば、電動モータ)を備えており、これにより機体を飛行させることができる。なお、マルチコプター10は、オペレータの手動操作(遠隔操縦)で飛行するだけでなく、自律的に飛行することもできるように構成されている。
 マルチスペクトルカメラ20は、例えば2バンド(可視赤色光及び近赤外光)の画像を同時に撮影することができるデジタルカメラとして構成されている。このマルチスペクトルカメラ20は、レンズを下に向けた状態でマルチコプター10の下部に取り付けられ、上空から圃場1を撮影して画像を得ることができる。
 マルチコプター10には図示しないGPS等の測位装置が備えられており、マルチスペクトルカメラ20で圃場1を撮影した場合に、当該撮影時における機体の位置を測位して記憶しておくことができる。これにより、後述の画像の合成や施肥量マップの作成が容易になる。
 上述のNDVIについては公知であるが、以下、簡単に説明する。一般に、植物の緑葉は、可視赤色光の領域の波長を吸収し、近赤外光の領域の波長を強く反射する特性を有することが知られている。NDVIはこれを利用した指数であり、植物の有無や量及び活性度を示す指標であるNDVIが、NDVI=(IR-R)/(IR+R)の式で計算される。ただし、Rは可視赤色光の観測値、IRは近赤外光の観測値である。NDVIの値は-1~1の値をとるように正規化されており、この値に対して例えば黒~白というように色を対応付けることで、NDVI画像を生成することができる。
 オペレータは、対象の圃場1の上空にマルチコプター10を飛行させ、マルチスペクトルカメラ20により当該圃場1を上空から撮影する。撮影により得られた複数のバンドの画像は、それぞれ、マルチスペクトルカメラ20に装着されたリムーバブル外部メモリに保存される。この外部メモリに保存された画像は、画像処理用の適宜のコンピュータに読み込まれ、上記の計算式を用いて適宜処理することにより、NDVI画像を生成することができる。
 なお、圃場1が大規模である場合は、マルチスペクトルカメラ20の撮影可能範囲に圃場1の全体が入らない場合も考えられる。この場合は、マルチコプター10の1回の飛行において、互いに異なる場所で複数回の撮影を行い、事後に画像を合成することとすれば良い。
 ところで、上記のようにして得られたNDVI画像は、当該圃場1内における作物2の生育の局所的な優劣の状況を表すものということができる。従って、この生育のバラツキを解消するために、生育が良好である場所では施肥量を相対的に少なくし、生育が良好でない場所では施肥量を相対的に多くするように、施肥量を場所的に変化させることが、収量及び品質の安定的な向上、及び、施肥の効率化の観点から好ましいと考えられる。上述の施肥量マップは、この考えに基づいて作成される。
 以下、施肥量マップを詳細に説明する。図2に示すように、この施肥量マップ5は、対象となる圃場1の圃場面を適宜の広さの単位区画(メッシュ)に分割し、この分割された区画ごとに肥料を散布すべき量を定めたものである。本実施形態では、圃場1を、10メートル×7.5メートルの矩形のメッシュに分割している。また、図2では圃場1の形状が矩形である場合を示しているが、圃場1の形状が矩形以外(例えば、台形)であっても良い。
 図2に示すように、メッシュごとの散布量は、NDVIの値が変化するのに応じて様々に異なっている。なお、本実施形態において施肥量マップ5で定められる散布量は、図2に示すように単位面積当たりの散布量としているが、それぞれのメッシュに散布すべき肥料の総量を定めるようにしても良い。
 この施肥量マップ5は、上記のNDVI画像に基づいて自動的に生成することもできるし、ディスプレイに表示されたNDVI画像をオペレータが参考にしながら手作業で作成することもできる。作成された施肥量マップ5のデータは、リムーバブル外部メモリ等の適宜の記憶媒体に保存される。
 次に、上記の施肥量マップ5に基づいて施肥量を変化させながら肥料を散布するヘリコプター(空中散布装置)30について、図3を参照して説明する。図3は、本発明の一実施形態に係るヘリコプター30が圃場の上空を飛行して肥料を散布する様子を示す側面図である。
 このヘリコプター30は、プロペラ32によって飛行可能な機体31を備える。この機体31は、地上のオペレータが操作する送信機60によって、その飛行を無線により制御することができる。
 ヘリコプター30の機体31には、粒状の肥料(粒剤、散布対象物)を散布するための散布部33が設けられている。散布部33は、貯留タンク34と、案内路35と、インペラ36と、を備える。
 貯留タンク34は、肥料を所定量貯留することができる中空状の容器として構成されている。容器の底部には開口が形成されており、この開口を通じて、案内路35に肥料を供給することができる。
 案内路35は、貯留タンク34の下部から下方に延びる筒状の部材として構成されている。案内路35は、貯留タンク34の内部の肥料を自重により下方へ供給することができる。
 インペラ36は、案内路35の下端に形成された開口の近傍に配置されている。インペラ36は、回転することにより、案内路35から供給された肥料を広範囲に拡散するように撒くことができる。
 次に、図4及び図5を参照して、散布部33による肥料の散布を制御するための構成について説明する。図4は、ヘリコプター30の電気的構成を示すブロック図である。図5は、肥料を散布する際の圃場上空におけるヘリコプター30の飛行経路を、施肥量マップ5の肥料の必要散布量と対応させて示す平面図である。
 図4に示すように、ヘリコプター30の機体31は、バッテリー41と、DC-DCコンバータ42,43と、受信機37と、散布量調整ユニット50と、を備える。また、散布部33は、調量モータ38と、開閉モータ39と、インペラ駆動モータ40と、を備える。
 バッテリー41は、機体31の各部に対する電力供給源として構成されている。DC-DCコンバータ42は、バッテリー41の直流電圧を別の直流電圧に変換して、受信機37、調量モータ38、開閉モータ39、及びインペラ駆動モータ40に供給することができる。また、DC-DCコンバータ43は、バッテリー41の直流電圧を別の直流電圧に変換して、散布量調整ユニット50に供給することができる。
 受信機37は、前記送信機60からの操縦指令に基づいて機体31の各部を制御する。これにより、機体31の飛行及び肥料の散布に関する制御を実現することができる。
 散布量調整ユニット50は、機体31の位置等に応じて、散布部33において肥料を散布する量を施肥量マップ5に基づいて自動的に調整する制御を行う。なお、散布量調整ユニット50の詳細は後述する。
 調量モータ38は、図略の駆動機構を介して、貯留タンク34に接続される案内路35の中途部を開閉するための調量シャッター部材48を駆動することができる。調量モータ38は、調量シャッター部材48の開度を無段階(又は、十分に多くの段階)で変更することで、案内路35における肥料の流量を必要なだけ絞って、インペラ36に供給される肥料の量(言い換えれば、単位時間当たりの肥料の散布量)を調整することができる。調量モータ38による調量シャッター部材48の開度の制御は、散布量調整ユニット50から入力される開度信号に基づいて行われる。
 開閉モータ39は、図略の駆動機構を介して、案内路35の中途部を開閉するための開閉シャッター部材49を駆動することができる。開閉モータ39は、開閉シャッター部材49の開度を全開と全閉との間で切り換えることで、下流側への肥料の供給の有無を切り換えることができる。
 送信機60は図示しないメイン散布スイッチを備えており、このスイッチをオペレータが操作することで、送信機60からの無線信号を受信した受信機37が、開閉モータ39による開閉シャッター部材49の開閉を制御する。以上により、オペレータの指示に応じて、肥料の散布を開始したり停止したりすることができる。
 インペラ駆動モータ40は、肥料を広範囲に拡散させるためのインペラ36を回転させる駆動力を供給する。
 次に、散布量調整ユニット50について詳細に説明する。散布量調整ユニット50は、CPUからなる演算部と、ROMやRAM等を備える記憶部と、上記のリムーバブル外部メモリを装着可能なコネクタと、を有するコンピュータとして構成されており、前記記憶部には、肥料の単位時間当たりの散布量を調整するための散布量調整プログラムが記憶されている。これらのハードウェアとソフトウェアの協働により、散布量調整ユニット50を、施肥量マップ入力部(必要散布量分布情報入力部)51、位置情報取得部52、速度情報取得部53、必要散布量取得部54、及び調量制御部(散布量制御部)55等として動作させることができる。
 施肥量マップ入力部51は、上記のリムーバブル外部メモリから図2のような施肥量マップ5のデータを入力し、散布量調整ユニット50が備えるRAM等の記憶部に読み込むことができる。
 なお、施肥量マップ5が散布量調整ユニット50に読み込まれる際には、施肥量マップ5の矩形の隅の位置の位置情報(具体的には、緯度及び経度)についても、適宜の方法で入力される。これにより、散布量調整ユニット50は、機体31の現在位置が施肥量マップ5におけるどのメッシュに対応しているか、の情報を得ることができる。
 位置情報取得部52は、図示しない測位部(例えば、GPS受信機)から、機体31の位置に関する情報(具体的には、緯度及び経度)を取得する。
 速度情報取得部53は、上記の位置情報取得部52で得られた機体31の位置の変化と、機体31に備えられた図略の加速度センサの検出値と、に基づいて、機体31の移動の速度(方位を含む)を取得する。
 必要散布量取得部54は、位置情報取得部52により得られる機体31の現在位置を、施肥量マップ入力部51で入力された施肥量マップ5に当てはめることにより、機体31の現在位置における肥料の必要散布量を求める。図2に示すように、機体31が圃場のどの領域(メッシュ)を飛行しているかに応じて、散布すべき肥料の量は様々に異なる。必要散布量取得部54が取得した肥料の必要散布量は、調量制御部55に出力される。
 調量制御部55は、必要散布量取得部54により得られた肥料の必要散布量と、速度情報取得部53により得られた自機の速度と、に基づいて、散布部33が備える調量シャッター部材48の開度に関する信号を生成して調量モータ38に出力する。
 調量制御部55は、散布部33を、必要散布量取得部54により得られた肥料の必要散布量を実現するように制御する。従って、散布部33における単位時間当たりの肥料の散布量は、上記の肥料の必要散布量に比例し、かつ、速度情報取得部53により得られた自機の速度に比例するように制御されることになる。
 即ち、調量制御部55の制御により、散布部33における単位時間当たりの肥料の散布量は、自機の飛行速度の増加に伴って増加し、飛行速度の減少に伴って減少する。これにより、自機の飛行速度の変動の影響を抑制して、施肥量マップ5に基づいた施肥量の調整を精度良く行うことができる。
 図5には、本実施形態のヘリコプター30を用いて圃場1に肥料を散布する場合の飛行経路の例が示されている。なお、図5においては、上述の施肥量マップ5の各メッシュが圃場1に重ねられる形で鎖線で仮想的に描かれるとともに、各メッシュにおいて定められた必要散布量が数値で示されている。
 図5に示すように、ヘリコプター30は、施肥量マップ5におけるそれぞれのメッシュの中央を通過するような散布飛行パターンに従って圃場1の上空を飛行するように、オペレータにより遠隔操縦される。そして、ヘリコプター30が各メッシュを通過するごとに、当該メッシュにおける必要散布量に基づいて、散布部33における肥料の単位時間当たりの散布量が自動的に変更される。以上により、効率の良い空中散布のメリットを十分に活用しながら、施肥量マップ5で定められた分布どおりの肥料の散布を、煩雑な操作を必要とすることなく実現することができる。
 以上に説明したように、本実施形態のヘリコプター30は、飛行しながら圃場1に粒状の肥料を散布する。このヘリコプター30は、散布部33と、施肥量マップ入力部51と、位置情報取得部52と、必要散布量取得部54と、調量制御部55と、を備える。散布部33は、肥料を散布するとともに、単位時間当たりの散布量を変更可能である。施肥量マップ入力部51は、施肥対象の圃場1を細分化した単位ごとに肥料を散布すべき量を定めた施肥量マップ5を入力可能である。位置情報取得部52は、自機(機体31)の位置を取得する。必要散布量取得部54は、位置情報取得部52で取得した機体31の位置における肥料の必要散布量を施肥量マップ5に基づいて取得する。調量制御部55は、散布部33における単位時間当たりの散布量を、必要散布量に基づいて制御する。
 これにより、圃場1の上空を高速で飛行しながら、予め入力された施肥量マップ5に基づいて、作物2の生育等のバラツキに対応して散布量を局所的にかつ正確に変化させながら肥料を散布することができる。従って、圃場1における局所的な管理を容易かつ的確に行うことができる。
 また、本実施形態のヘリコプター30は、自機(機体31)の飛行速度を取得する速度情報取得部53を備える。調量制御部55は、速度情報取得部53で得られた飛行速度が増加すれば散布部33における単位時間当たりの散布量を増加させ、飛行速度が減少すれば散布部33における単位時間当たりの散布量を減少させるように制御する。
 これにより、飛行速度の変動の影響を抑えることができるので、施肥量マップで定められた必要散布量を正確に実現することができる。
 また、本実施形態のヘリコプター30において、調量制御部55は、施肥量マップ5から得られた必要散布量と、速度情報取得部53で得られた飛行速度と、の何れにも実質的に比例するように、散布部33における単位時間当たりの散布量を制御する。
 これにより、単純な制御によって、施肥量マップで定められた必要散布量を一層正確に実現することができる。
 以上に本発明の好適な実施の形態を説明したが、上記の構成は例えば以下のように変更することができる。
 上記の実施形態のヘリコプター30は、粒状の肥料を散布する場合に限らず、他の粒状体、粉体、又は液体を散布する場合にも適用することができる。また、ヘリコプター30は、肥料以外の薬剤等を散布する場合にも適用することができる。
 施肥量マップ5の単位であるメッシュの大きさ及び形状は、上記した大きさとすることに限定されず、事情を考慮して任意に定めて良い。ただし、矩形のメッシュの少なくとも1辺の長さが、ヘリコプター30で肥料を散布可能な幅と等しいか、当該幅の整数倍となるように設定されると、飛行経路の策定が容易になり、また、調量制御部55による制御が簡単になるために好ましい。
 空中散布装置の飛行の形態はどのようであっても良い。例えば、散布部33及び散布量調整ユニット50は、ヘリコプター30に限定せず、例えば図1に示すようなマルチコプター10に設けることもできる。
 ヘリコプター30等は圃場の上空を飛行するため、あるメッシュに機体31が位置しているときに上空で撒かれた肥料が、他のメッシュ(例えば、隣のメッシュ)に着地する場合も考えられる。これを考慮して、施肥量マップ5のとおり正確に肥料を散布するために、調量制御部55が、自機の飛行速度、方位、高度等に基づいて、現時点で空中から撒く肥料が圃場1のどのメッシュに着地するかを予測して、単位時間当たりの散布量を制御するように構成しても良い。
 ヘリコプター30の機体31が施肥量マップ5に対応する領域を外れた場合に、自動的に開閉シャッター部材49が閉じられるように自動制御しても良い。
 施肥量マップ5の各メッシュについて肥料の散布を完了したか否かを散布量調整ユニット50が記憶できるように構成し、肥料の散布が完了したメッシュを機体31が再び通過した場合には、調量シャッター部材48を自動的に全閉とするか、自動的に開閉シャッター部材49が閉じられるように自動制御しても良い。
 施肥量マップ5に基づいて散布量を局所的に変化させる制御を行うモード(マップによる散布モード)と、施肥量マップ5に基づかずに散布を行うモード(通常散布モード)と、を切換可能に構成しても良い。
 調量シャッター部材48及び開閉シャッター部材49は、電動モータ以外の適宜のアクチュエータによって駆動されても良い。
 上記実施形態では、施肥量マップ5のデータを、当該マップを作成したPCからリムーバブル外部メモリに保存した後、当該メモリをヘリコプター30(散布量調整ユニット50)に装着することで前記施肥量マップ5のデータを入力している。しかしながらこれに代えて、ヘリコプター30が、通信部(例えば、無線による通信部)によって当該PCから施肥量マップ5のデータを受信して入力しても良い。

Claims (3)

  1.  飛行しながら圃場に散布対象物を散布する空中散布装置であって、
     散布対象物を散布するとともに、単位時間当たりの散布量を変更可能な散布部と、
     散布対象の圃場を細分化した単位ごとに前記散布対象物を散布すべき量を定めた必要散布量分布情報を入力可能な必要散布量分布情報入力部と、
     自機の位置を取得する位置情報取得部と、
     前記位置情報取得部で取得した自機の位置における散布対象物の必要散布量を前記必要散布量分布情報に基づいて取得する必要散布量取得部と、
     前記散布部における単位時間当たりの散布量を、前記必要散布量に基づいて制御する散布量制御部と、
    を備えることを特徴とする空中散布装置。
  2.  請求項1に記載の空中散布装置であって、
     自機の飛行速度を取得する速度情報取得部を備え、
     前記散布量制御部は、前記速度情報取得部で得られた飛行速度が増加すれば前記散布部における単位時間当たりの散布量を増加させ、前記飛行速度が減少すれば前記散布部における単位時間当たりの散布量を減少させるように制御することを特徴とする空中散布装置。
  3.  請求項2に記載の空中散布装置であって、
     前記散布量制御部は、前記必要散布量と、前記速度情報取得部で得られた飛行速度と、の何れにも実質的に比例するように、前記散布部における単位時間当たりの散布量を制御することを特徴とする空中散布装置。
