Abstract

 温度センサ1は、シース管2と、シース管2内に挿通された一対の熱電対素線3と、一対の熱電対素線3における測温接点311と、シース管2内の隙間に配置された絶縁性の保持体4と、シース管2の先端201の外周に覆い被さって測温接点311を囲む先端保護管5とを備えている。先端保護管5は、シース管2の先端201の外周に覆い被さる基端側管部51と、基端側管部51の先端側に隣接する位置に基端側管部51よりも縮径して形成された先端側管部52とを有している。先端側管部52内の先端側部分には、測温接点311を埋設する絶縁性の第1充填物61Aが充填されており、先端側管部52内の残部には、空気層62が形成されている。

Description

温度センサ
 本発明は、一対の熱電対素線を用いて温度を測定する温度センサに関する。
 エンジンの排気管内等の温度を測定する温度センサにおいては、一対の熱電対素線を用いることがある。この温度センサには、この一対の熱電対素線の先端が互いに接合されて形成された測温接点(熱接点)に、温度を測定する流体(被測定流体)が直接接触する露出型のものと、測温接点がシースに接地された接地型のものと、測温接点がシースから絶縁された非接地型のものとがある。
 露出型の温度センサは、測定の応答性が良い利点がある反面、測温接点が損傷しやすい欠点がある。接地型の温度センサは、測定の応答性が良い利点がある反面、ノイズの影響を受けやすい欠点がある。非接地型の温度センサは、測温接点を損傷から保護できるとともにノイズの影響を受けにくい利点がある反面、測定の応答性が悪くなる欠点がある。
 例えば、特許文献1においては、シースと、シース内に挿通された一対の素線と、シースの先端部に取り付けられ、一対の素線の温接点を被うドーム型保護キャップとを備えた高応答熱電対について開示されている。このドーム型保護キャップにおいては、その頂部に吸気穴が形成されており、その取付部近傍に排気穴が形成されている。そして、被計測気流が温接点に直接衝突することを防止して、温接点を損傷から保護するとともに、測定の応答性を高く維持している。

 しかしながら、特許文献1の高応答熱電対においては、ドーム型保護キャップ内に流入した被測定流体(被計測気流)が温接点に接触する。そのため、被測定流体が腐食性ガスを含んでいる場合には、特許文献1の高応答熱電対によっては温接点を腐食から保護することが難しい。また、温度を測定する場所がノイズの影響を受けやすい環境下にある場合には、特許文献1の高応答熱電対によっては、温度の測定の精度が悪化するおそれがある。
 本発明は、かかる背景に鑑みてなされたもので、腐食から測温接点を保護するとともに測定の精度を維持して、測定の応答性を高めることができる温度センサを提供しようとして得られたものである。
 本発明の一態様は、シース管と、該シース管内に挿通された一対の熱電対素線と、該一対の熱電対素線における、上記シース管から突出する先端突出部の先端が互いに接合されて形成された測温接点と、上記シース管内の隙間に配置された絶縁性の保持体と、上記シース管の先端部の外周に覆い被さって上記測温接点を囲む先端保護管と、を備え、該先端保護管は、上記シース管の先端部の外周に覆い被さる基端側管部と、該基端側管部の先端側に隣接する位置に該基端側管部よりも縮径して形成され、先端が閉塞された先端側管部とを有しており、該先端側管部内の先端側部分には、上記測温接点を埋設する絶縁性の第1充填物が充填されており、上記先端側管部内における、上記第1充填物の基端側に隣接する部分には、空気層が形成されている、又は上記第1充填物よりも熱伝導率及び密度が低い絶縁性の第2充填物が充填されていることを特徴とする温度センサにある。
 上記温度センサは、非接地型の温度センサであり、非接地型の温度センサの弱点である応答性を改善したものである。
 具体的には、先端保護管の先端側管部内には、測温接点を埋設する絶縁性の第1充填物が充填されている。これにより、被測定流体が先端保護管に接触するとき、被測定流体の熱を先端保護管及び第1充填物を介して測温接点に伝えることができる。そして、第1充填物が、先端保護管から測温接点への熱伝導を促進することができる。また、測温接点が先端保護管及び第1充填物によって囲まれていることにより、被測定流体が腐食性ガスを含んでいる場合であっても、測温接点を腐食から保護することができる。また、測温接点が先端保護管及び第1充填物によって囲まれていることにより、温度を測定する場所がノイズの影響を受けやすい環境下にある場合であっても、温度の測定がノイズの影響を受けないようにして、測定の精度を維持することができる。
 また、先端側管部内における、第1充填物の基端側に隣接する部分には、空気層が形成されている、又は第1充填物よりも熱伝導率及び密度が低い絶縁性の第2充填物が充填されている。これにより、先端保護管からシース管への放熱を、空気層、又は第1充填物よりも熱伝導率が低い第2充填物によって抑制することができる。
 また、第2充填物の密度が第1充填物の密度よりも低いことによって、温度センサの製造時に、先端側管部内の第1充填物のスラリーの上に第2充填物のスラリーを配置しても、両者が混ざりにくくすることができる。これにより、第1充填物及び第2充填物を用いた温度センサの製造を容易にすることができる。
 そして、第1充填物による熱伝導の促進と、先端保護管からシース管への放熱の抑制とによって、温度の測定を行う温度センサの応答性を高めることができる。
 それ故、上記温度センサによれば、腐食から測温接点を保護するとともに測定の精度を維持して、測定の応答性を高めることができる。
 上記温度センサにおいては、上記先端側管部は、上記基端側管部に繋がる中段部と、該中段部の先端側に隣接する位置において該中段部よりも縮径して形成され、先端が閉塞された最先端部とを有しており、上記測温接点は、上記最先端部内に配置されていてもよい。
 先端側管部が中段部と最先端部とを有していることにより、測温接点からシース管内へ延びる一対の熱電対素線の先端突出部が横に拡がる形状に合わせて、先端側管部の最先端部及び中段部を配置することができる。そして、測温接点と最先端部との間の距離を適切に短くするとともに、中段部の内壁面と一対の熱電対素線との間の電気絶縁距離を適切に保つことができ、温度センサにおける絶縁抵抗を高くすることができる。
 また、上記充填物における基端面は、上記中段部内に位置していてもよい。
 温度センサを製造する際に、先端保護管内に充填する充填物の充填位置を調整することは、先端保護管内において、充填物と空気層とが占める割合を決定するために重要となる。充填物の充填位置によって決定される、充填物の基端面の位置を、最先端部よりも拡径した中段部内の位置とすることにより、充填物の充填量にばらつきが生じても、充填物の基端面の位置ずれを小さく抑えることができる。これにより、先端保護管内において充填物と空気層とが占める割合の調整を容易にすることができる。

 以下に、温度センサにかかる実施例について、図面を参照して説明する。
(実施例1)
 本例の温度センサ1は、図1に示すように、シース管2と、シース管2内に挿通された一対の熱電対素線3と、一対の熱電対素線3における、シース管2から突出する先端突出部31の先端が互いに結合されて形成された測温接点311と、シース管2内の隙間に配置された絶縁性の保持体4と、シース管2の先端201の外周に覆い被さって測温接点311を囲む先端保護管5とを備えている。なお、図1において図の左側を先端側、右側を基端側とする。
 先端保護管5は、シース管2の先端201の外周に覆い被さる基端側管部51と、基端側管部51の先端側に隣接する位置に基端側管部51よりも縮径して形成され、先端が閉塞された先端側管部52とを有している。先端側管部52内の先端側部分には、測温接点311を埋設する絶縁性の第1充填物61Aが充填されており、先端側管部52内の残部には、空気層62が形成されている。
 以下に、本例の温度センサ1について、図1~図4を参照して詳説する。
 図1に示すように、本例の温度センサ1は、使用温度範囲が500℃以上の高温環境下で用いられる。また、温度センサ1は、自動車のエンジンから排気ガスが排気される排気管内(図示せず)に配置され、排気管内の排気ガスの温度を測定するよう構成されている。温度センサ1によって温度を測定する流体である被測定流体Gは、排気管内を流れる排気ガスである。
 シース管2及び先端保護管5は、Ni(ニッケル)及びFe(鉄)の少なくとも一方と、Cr(クロム)とを含む合金によって形成されている。Crは、シース管2又は先端保護管5の全体に対して13wt%以上含まれている。また、保持体4は、酸化マグネシウム等の絶縁性を有する粉末が、シース管2内で圧縮されて固められたものである。
 一方の熱電対素線3は、Ni、Cr、Si(ケイ素)等を含有する合金であるナイクロシルからなり、他方の熱電対素線3は、Ni、Si等を含有する合金であるナイシルからなる。一対の熱電対素線3を構成する材質と、シース管2及び先端保護管5を構成する材質とをできるだけ合わせることにより、これらの線膨張率の差をできるだけ小さくすることができる。これにより、繰り返し温度変化が起こり得る環境下において温度センサ1を使用した場合でも、高信頼性を発揮できる。また、一対の熱電対素線3をナイクロシルとナイシルとから構成することにより、温度センサ1によって排気ガスのできるだけ広範囲の温度を測定することが可能になる。
 図1に示すように、本例の先端側管部52は、基端側管部51に繋がる中段部521と、中段部521の先端側に隣接する位置において中段部521よりも縮径して形成された最先端部522とを有している。先端保護管5は、基端側管部51と、中段部521と、最先端部522との3段階に内径が変化して形成されている。また、最先端部522は、管状部分523と、管状部分523の先端を閉塞する半球面状の端部524とを有している。最先端部522の管状部分523の外径は、シース管2の外径よりも小さい。基端側管部51と中段部521との間、中段部521と最先端部522の管状部分523との間には、傾斜状の段差部53が形成されている。
 一対の熱電対素線3は、シース管2及び保持体4の内部において互いに平行に配置されている。シース管2及び保持体4の外部に突出する、一対の熱電対素線3の先端突出部31は、先端側に向かうに連れて間隔が狭くなるよう傾斜している。そして、一対の熱電対素線3の先端突出部31の先端が互いに結合されて形成された測温接点311は、最先端部522内に配置されている。
 先端保護管5が基端側管部51、中段部521及び最先端部522によって構成されていることにより、測温接点311からシース管2内へ延びる一対の熱電対素線3の先端突出部31が傾斜状に拡がる形状に合わせて、先端側管部52の最先端部522及び中段部521を配置することができる。
 より具体的には、一対の熱電対素線3の間隔が広い、先端突出部31の基端側部分が、中段部521内に配置される。また、一対の熱電対素線3の間隔が狭くなる、先端突出部31の先端側部分が、最先端部522の管状部分523に配置される。そして、先端突出部31の基端側部分と中段部521の内壁面との間の電気絶縁距離、及び先端突出部31の先端側部分と最先端部522の管状部分523の内壁面との間の電気絶縁距離が適切に保たれる。これにより、温度センサ1における絶縁抵抗を高くすることができ、電気ノイズの懸念がある環境下において温度センサ1を使用した場合でも、信号に対するノイズの割合を示すS/N比を高く保つことができる。
 図1に示すように、先端側管部52内に充填された第1充填物61Aは、最先端部522の全体に充填され、かつ中段部521の一部に充填されている。そして、第1充填物61Aにおける基端面(基端側の端面)611は、中段部521内に位置している。図2に示すように、第1充填物61Aは、セラミックスからなる粒子状の骨材612と、粒子状の骨材612間の隙間を埋める、結晶化ガラスからなるガラス層613とによって構成されている。粒子状の骨材612には、AlN(窒化アルミニウム)、Al23(酸化アルミニウム)、SiN(窒化ケイ素)等の熱伝導性の高いセラミックス材料を用いている。
 また、中段部521内の残部、及び中段部521と基端側管部51との間の段差部53には、第1充填物61Aが充填されていないことによる空気層62が形成されている。
 本例の温度センサ1は、次のようにして製造される。
 まず、図3に示すように、シース管2内に、一対の熱電対素線3と、保持体4となる絶縁性の粉末材料とを配置し、シース管2を縮径させて粉末材料を圧縮する。そして、保持体4によってシース管2内に一対の熱電対素線3が保持された管体10を形成する。次いで、管体10の先端部におけるシース管2の部分及び保持体4の部分を切除し、一対の熱電対素線3の先端突出部31を露出させる。そして、この先端突出部31の先端同士をレーザー溶接して測温接点311を形成する。
 一方、図4に示すように、先端保護管5内には、粒子状の骨材612となるセラミックス粉体、及びガラス層613となる結晶化ガラス材料が溶媒中に含まれたスラリー60を、注射器によって注入する。このとき、溶媒によって、セラミックス粉体及び結晶化ガラス材料の流動性が良くなり、先端保護管5の最先端部522及び中段部521の一部にスラリー60が行き渡る。
 次いで、図4に示すように、先端保護管5の基端側管部51を管体10(シース管2)に外装するとともに、先端保護管5内のスラリー60中に、一対の熱電対素線3における測温接点311を浸漬させる。そして、先端保護管5を高温で処理する。これにより、先端保護管5内には、セラミックス粉体による粒子状の骨材612同士の間の隙間が、結晶化ガラス材料によるガラス層613によって埋められた第1充填物61Aが形成される。また、先端保護管5内における、第1充填物61Aが充填されていない部分には、一対の熱電対素線3の先端突出部31が配置された空気層62が形成される。
 ところで、先端保護管5内へのスラリー60の注入量は、スラリー60の液面601が中段部521内に位置するようにして決定する。このとき、スラリー60の充填位置によって決定される、第1充填物61Aの基端面611の位置を、最先端部522よりも拡径した中段部521内の位置とすることにより、第1充填物61Aの充填量にばらつきが生じても、第1充填物61Aの基端面611の位置ずれ(シース管2が伸びる軸線方向Lへの位置ずれ)を小さく抑えることができる。すなわち、最先端部522内の断面積に比べて中段部521内の断面積は大きく、スラリー60の体積の誤差が、スラリー60の液面601の位置の変化に与える影響は、最先端部522に比べて中段部521の方が小さい。そのため、スラリー60の液面601を中段部521内に位置させることにより、先端保護管5内において第1充填物61Aと空気層62とが占める割合の調整を容易にすることができる。
 第1充填物61Aの基端面611の位置は、後述する空気層62の軸線方向Lの長さL2及び測温接点311の第1充填物61Aへの埋設深さL3に影響し、先端保護管5からシース管2への放熱を抑制する効果、一対の熱電対素線3の先端突出部31の破断を抑制する効果、温度センサ1の応答性等に影響を与えることになる。従って、第1充填物61Aの基端面611の位置を適切に調整することにより、これらの効果を適切に得ることができる。また、第1充填物61Aの基端面611の位置を適切に調整することにより、温度センサ1の個体間の応答性のばらつきを小さく抑えることができる。
 また、先端保護管5内にスラリー60を注入し、スラリー60を乾燥させて第1充填物61Aを形成することにより、第1充填物61Aの密度を高めることができ、第1充填物61Aによる絶縁抵抗を向上させることができる。
 また、一対の熱電対素線3の先端突出部31と先端保護管5との配置関係は次のように決定される。
 シース管2が伸びる軸線方向Lにおいて、シース管2の先端201から測温接点311の中心までの距離L1は、5~15mmの範囲内にある。距離L1が5mm以上であることにより、先端側管部52の長さを十分に取ることができ、先端保護管5からシース管2への放熱(熱伝導)の影響を小さくして、温度センサ1の応答性を維持することができる。一方、距離L1が15mm超過になると、温度センサ1に外部から力が加わった際に、一対の熱電対素線3の先端突出部31が破断しやすくなる。
 また、シース管2の先端201から第1充填物61Aにおける基端面611までの軸線方向Lの距離L2(空気層62の軸線方向Lの長さL2)は、1~5mmの範囲内にある。距離L2が1mm未満であると、空気層62による熱絶縁の効果(放熱を抑制する効果)が減少する。一方、距離L2が5mm超過となると、一対の熱電対素線3が第1充填物61Aにより固定されない距離が長くなり、温度センサ1に外部から力が加わった際に、一対の熱電対素線3の先端突出部31が破断しやすくなる。
 第1充填物61Aにおける基端面611から測温接点311の中心までの軸線方向Lの距離L3(測温接点311の第1充填物61Aへの埋設深さL3)は、1~10mmの範囲内にある。距離L3が1mm未満であると、先端保護管5の外部における被測定流体Gから、測温接点311への受熱が阻害されるおそれがあり、温度センサ1の応答性が悪くなるおそれがある。一方、距離L3が10mm超過になると、第1充填物61Aが充填された先端側管部52の熱容量の増加と、先端保護管5からシース管2への放熱(熱伝導)とにより、温度センサ1の応答性が悪くなる。
 また、測温接点311の先端から最先端部522の内側先端525までの軸線方向Lの距離L4は、0.1~2mmの範囲内にある。これにより、最先端部522の内壁面から測温接点311までの電気絶縁距離を適切に保つことができる。
 本例の温度センサ1は、非接地型の温度センサ1であり、非接地型の温度センサ1の弱点である応答性を改善したものである。
 具体的には、先端保護管5の最先端部522内及び中段部521の一部の内部には、測温接点311を埋設する絶縁性の第1充填物61Aが充填されている。これにより、被測定流体Gが先端保護管5に接触するとき、被測定流体Gの熱を先端保護管5及び第1充填物61Aを介して測温接点311に伝えることができる。そして、第1充填物61Aが、先端保護管5から測温接点311への熱伝導を促進することができる。また、測温接点311が先端保護管5及び第1充填物61Aによって囲まれていることにより、被測定流体Gが腐食性ガスを含んでいる場合であっても、測温接点311を腐食から保護することができる。また、測温接点311が先端保護管5及び第1充填物61Aによって囲まれていることにより、温度を測定する場所がノイズの影響を受けやすい環境下にある場合であっても、温度の測定がノイズの影響を受けないようにして、測定の精度を維持することができる。
 また、温度センサ1によって、自動車のエンジンから排気される排気ガスの温度を測定する際には、温度センサ1は、エンジンの燃焼に伴う冷熱サイクルによって加熱・冷却が繰り返される。また、一対の熱電対素線3は、線膨張係数が互いに異なる金属材料から形成されている。そのため、一対の熱電対素線3は、冷熱サイクルによる影響を受けて、線膨張係数の差によって変形するおそれがある。
 そこで、熱電対素線3の一部及び熱電対素線3の先端における測温接点311を第1充填物61Aに埋設することによって、熱電対素線3が変形しにくくすることができる。これにより、熱電対素線3及び測温接点311を変形から保護することができる。
 また、先端保護管5の中段部521内には、空気層62が形成されている。これにより、先端保護管5からシース管2への放熱を、空気層62によって抑制することができる。そして、空気層62により、先端保護管5とシース管2との熱的な絶縁性を高めることができる。こうして、第1充填物61Aによる熱伝導の促進と、先端保護管5からシース管2への放熱の抑制とによって、温度の測定を行う温度センサ1の応答性を高めることができる。
 それ故、本例の温度センサ1によれば、腐食から測温接点311を保護するとともに測定の精度を維持して、耐電気ノイズ性及び測定の応答性を高めることができる。
(実施例2)
 なお、実施例2において実施例1と同様の構成であるものは同一の符号を付し、同様の作用、効果を奏するものであると供に、説明を省略する。
 本例は、先端側管部52内における、第1充填物61Aの基端側に隣接する部分に、第1充填物61Aよりも熱伝導率及び密度が低い第2充填物61Bが充填されている温度センサ1についての例である。
 本例の温度センサ1においては、図5に示すように、熱伝導率及び密度が異なる2種類の充填物61A,61Bを先端側管部52内に充填する。熱電対素線3の測温接点311は、先端側管部52内の先端側部分に充填された第1充填物61A内に埋設されている。
 第1充填物61Aの組成は上記実施例1に記載したものと同じである。第2充填物61Bの組成は、粒子状の骨材612とガラス層613とを含有する点は第1充填物61Aと同じであるが、粒子状の骨材612の種類が第1充填物61Aの場合と異なる。第2充填物61Bの粒子状の骨材612には、AlN、Al23、SiN等のセラミックス材料よりも熱伝導率及び密度が低いコージェライト、ステアタイト、フォルステライト等のセラミックス材料を用いている。
 同図に示すように、先端側管部52の内面の全体には、先端側管部52と測温接点311との絶縁性を確保するための絶縁材7がコーティングされている。測温接点311は、絶縁材7によって先端側管部52との絶縁性が確保されることにより、先端側管部52の最先端部522の内側先端525に極力近づけて配置することができる。具体的には、測温接点311の先端から、先端側管部52の最先端部522の内側先端525までの距離L4は、0.1mm以下としている。距離L4は0mmとすることも考えられるが、第1充填物61Aを構成するスラリーが測温接点311と内側先端525との間に浸透することにより、0mmとすることは困難である。
 本例の先端保護管5の先端側管部52内には、第1充填物61Aの基端側に第2充填物61Bが充填されていることにより、先端保護管5からシース管2への放熱を、第1充填物61Aよりも熱伝導率が低い第2充填物61Bによって抑制することができる。
 また、第2充填物61Bの密度が第1充填物61Aの密度よりも低いことによって、温度センサ1の製造時に、先端側管部52内の第1充填物61Aのスラリーの上に第2充填物61Bのスラリーを配置しても、両者が混ざりにくくすることができる。これにより、第1充填物61A及び第2充填物61Bを用いた温度センサ1の製造を容易にすることができる。
(確認試験)
 本確認試験においては、シース管2が伸びる軸線方向Lにおいて、シース管2の先端201から測温接点311の中心までの距離L1(mm)、シース管2の先端201から第1充填物61Aにおける基端面611までの距離L2(mm)、及び測温接点311の先端から最先端部522の内側先端525までの距離L4(mm)について適切な範囲を確認した。
 距離L1~L3の適切な範囲の確認においては、温度センサ1の63%応答時間(s)を確認した。また、距離L1、L2の適切な範囲の確認においては、温度センサ1を40G(392m/s2)の加速度で加振した際に温度センサ1に生じる振動が許容範囲内にあるかを確認した。また、距離L4の適切な範囲の確認においては、熱電対素線3の測温接点311と先端保護管5との間の絶縁抵抗(MΩ)を確認した。
(距離L1)
 距離L1について、63%応答時間の試験及び加振試験を行った結果を表1に示す。ここで、距離L2は、1~5mmの範囲内の一定の値とし、距離L3は、1~10mmの範囲内の一定の値とし、距離L4は、0.1~2mmの範囲内の一定の値とした。

 同表に示すように、距離L1が5~15mmの範囲内にある場合には、63%応答時間が3.8(s)と速く、また、加振試験の評価が○(可)となり、温度センサ1に生じる振動が許容範囲内になることが分かった。一方、距離L1が4mmの場合には、63%応答時間が4.0sとなり、温度センサ1の応答性が若干劣ることが分かった。また、距離L1が16mm、20mmの場合には、加振試験の評価が×(不可)となり、温度センサ1に生じる振動が許容範囲を超えることが分かった。これらの結果より、シース管2の先端201から測温接点311の中心までの距離L1(mm)を5~15mmの範囲内にすることにより、温度センサ1の応答性及び耐振性が優れることが分かった。
(距離L2)
 距離L2について、63%応答時間の試験及び加振試験を行った結果を表2に示す。ここで、距離L1は、5~15mmの範囲内の一定の値とし、距離L3は、1~10mmの範囲内の一定の値とし、距離L4は、0.1~2mmの範囲内の一定の値とした。

 同表に示すように、距離L2が1~5mmの範囲内にある場合には、63%応答時間が3.8(s)と速く、また、加振試験の評価が○(可)となり、温度センサ1に生じる振動が許容範囲内になることが分かった。一方、距離L2が0.5mmの場合には、63%応答時間が3.9sとなり、温度センサ1の応答性が若干劣ることが分かった。また、距離L2が6mmの場合には、加振試験の評価が×(不可)となり、温度センサ1に生じる振動が許容範囲を超えることが分かった。これらの結果より、シース管2の先端201から第1充填物61Aにおける基端面611までの距離L2(mm)を1~5mmの範囲内にすることにより、温度センサ1の応答性及び耐振性が優れることが分かった。
(距離L4)
 距離L4について、63%応答時間の試験及び絶縁抵抗の試験を行った結果を表3に示す。ここで、距離L1は、5~15mmの範囲内の一定の値とし、距離L2は、1~5mmの範囲内の一定の値とし、距離L3は、1~10mmの範囲内の一定の値とした。

 同表に示すように、距離L4が0.1~2mmの範囲内にある場合には、63%応答時間が3.8(s)と速く、また、絶縁抵抗が10MΩ以上となり、測温接点311の絶縁性に優れることが分かった。一方、距離L4が0mmの場合には、絶縁抵抗が0Ωとなり、測温接点311の絶縁性が劣ることが分かった。また、距離L4が3mmの場合には、63%応答時間が4.0sとなり、温度センサ1の応答性が若干劣ることが分かった。これらの結果より、測温接点311の先端から最先端部522の内側先端525までの距離L4を0.1~2mmの範囲内にすることにより、温度センサ1の応答性及び絶縁性が優れることが分かった。

Claims (6)

  1.  シース管(2)と、
     該シース管(2)内に挿通された一対の熱電対素線(3)と、
     該一対の熱電対素線(3)における、上記シース管(2)から突出する先端突出部(31)の先端が互いに接合されて形成された測温接点(311)と、
     上記シース管(2)内の隙間に配置された絶縁性の保持体(4)と、
     上記シース管(2)の先端(201)の外周に覆い被さって上記測温接点(311)を囲む先端保護管(5)と、を備え、
     該先端保護管(5)は、上記シース管(2)の先端(201)の外周に覆い被さる基端側管部(51)と、該基端側管部(51)の先端側に隣接する位置に該基端側管部(51)よりも縮径して形成され、先端が閉塞された先端側管部(52)とを有しており、
     該先端側管部(52)内の先端側部分には、上記測温接点(311)を埋設する絶縁性の第1充填物(61A)が充填されており、
     上記先端側管部(52)内における、上記第1充填物(61A)の基端側に隣接する部分には、空気層(62)が形成されている、又は上記第1充填物(61A)よりも熱伝導率及び密度が低い第2充填物(61B)が充填されていることを特徴とする温度センサ(1)。
  2.  上記先端側管部(52)は、上記基端側管部(51)に繋がる中段部(521)と、該中段部(521)の先端側に隣接する位置において該中段部(521)よりも縮径して形成され、先端が閉塞された最先端部(522)とを有しており、
     上記測温接点(311)は、上記最先端部(522)内に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の温度センサ(1)。
  3.  上記第1充填物(61A)における基端面(611)は、上記中段部(521)内に位置していることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の温度センサ(1)。
  4.  上記シース管(2)の先端(201)から上記測温接点(311)の中心までの距離(L1)は、5~15mmの範囲内にあり、上記シース管(2)の先端(201)から上記第1充填物(61A)における基端面(611)までの距離(L2)は、1~5mmの範囲内にあり、上記第1充填物(61A)における基端面(611)から上記測温接点(311)の中心までの距離(L3)は、1~10mmの範囲内にあることを特徴とする請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の温度センサ(1)。
  5.  上記先端側管部(52)の内面には、絶縁材(7)がコーティングされており、
     上記測温接点(311)の先端と、上記先端側管部(52)の上記最先端部(522)の内側先端(525)までの距離(L4)は、0.1mm以下であることを特徴とする請求項2または3のいずれか一項に記載の温度センサ(1)。
  6.  上記第1充填物(61A)及び上記第2充填物(61B)は、セラミックスからなる粒子状の骨材(612)と、該粒子状の骨材(612)間の隙間を埋める、結晶化ガラスからなるガラス層(613)とによって構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の温度センサ(1)。
