Abstract

본 발명은 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막, 이를 포함하는 다공성 고분자 지지체 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것이다. 보다 구체적으로 투과도 또는 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막, 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것이다.

본 발명은 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막, 이를 포함하는 다공성 고분자 지지체 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것이다. 보다 구체적으로는 투과도 또는 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막, 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것이다.
복합막(분리막)은 기체 분리막, 수처리 분리막, 이온 분리막, 이차전지 분리막 등 현재 여러 분야에 적용되고 있다. 이러한 복합막은 해당되는 적용 분야에 따라 사용되는 소재가 조금씩 다르다. 하지만, 그 적용 분야가 무엇이든 간에 투과율이 우수하여야만 우수한 분리막에 해당하게 된다.
종래의 분리막은 다양한 고분자 소재의 단일막을 최종적으로 탄화시켜 제조한 탄소막이 개발되고 있다. 일반적으로 탄소막은 막 형태의 고분자 전구체를 고온에서 탄화시킴으로써 미세다공성의 탄소막을 얻게 되는데, 이렇게 얻어진 탄소막은 높은 투과도 및 선택도를 나타내고 장기 안정성, 내구성, 내화학성 및 고온안정성을 갖는 반면, 탄성도와 인장강도 등의 기계적 물성이 열악하며, 600-1,000 ℃에 이르는 고온과 장시간의 제조공정에 따른 비용 증가와 더불어 박막화의 어려움이 따르는 낮은 가공성이 상업화의 걸림돌로 작용하고 있으면서, 제조 공정시 막의 결함이 발생하는 큰 문제를 안고 있다(특허문헌 1-대한민국공개특허 제2011-0033111호).
그리고 탄소나노튜브 막의 기체 투과도 및 선택도가 높다는 결과가 보고되면서부터 고분자 매트릭스 내에 탄소나노튜브가 혼합된 형태의 복합막에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있는데, 여전히 기체 투과도와 선택도의 트레이드-오프 관계를 만족스러운 수준으로 해결하지 못하고 있다(비특허문헌 1- Sangil Kim et al., J. Membr. Sci. 294 (2007) 147-158).
또한 최근에는 2차원 평면구조의 단일층을 갖고, 기계적 강도 및 열적, 화학적 특성이 우수하며 박막화가 가능한 그래핀 소재에 주목하여 다공성 지지체 위에 그래핀을 전사하여 복합막을 제조한 사례가 있지만, 이차원 입자의 조밀한 적층구조 및 이로 인해 형성되는 상대적으로 긴 투과유로로 인해 몇몇 기체에 대한 투과도가 우수하지 못하다는 문제점이 있었다(특허문헌 2-미국공개특허 제2012-0255899호).
한편 분리막의 응용 분야 중에는 산화그래핀을 지지체 위에 코팅시켜 분리막으로 활용하려는 연구가 시작되었으며, 그 중 대표적인 예들로서 기체 분리막, 수처리 분리막, 이온 분리막이 있다. 이들 연구는 다공성 고분자 지지체 위에 산화그래핀을 코팅하여 기체 분리막, 수처리 분리막, 이온 분리막 등으로 활용하는 것에 관한 것이다. 이렇게 산화그래핀을 다공성 고분자 지지체 위에 코팅하여 분리막으로 활용하게 되면, 분리하려는 목적 물질에 대한 선택도나 투과도를 향상시킬 수 있어 산화그래핀을 활용하는 연구가 계속 진행 중에 있다. 특히 다공성 고분자 지지체 상에 산화그래핀 등 관능기화한 그래핀을 포함하여 투과 유량이나 특정 기체 혼합물에 대한 선택도를 향상시키기 위한 연구가 있다(특허문헌 3-대한민국공개특허 제2013-0128686호).
하지만, 상기 특허문헌 3과 같이 산화그래핀으로 코팅하여 분리막을 제조하더라도 투과도를 보다 향상시켜야 하는 문제는 여전히 남아 있다.
또한 상기 특허문헌 3과 같이 산화그래핀으로 코팅하여 복합막을 제조하는 경우와 같이 단순히 산화그래핀으로 적층된 복합막의 경우, 주위의 물리화학적 자극에 쉽게 박리되는 현상이 나타나는 문제점이 있다.
특히 상기 특허문헌 3과 같이 산화그래핀으로 코팅하여 분리막을 제조하는 경우 산화그래핀과 다공성 고분자 지지체 간의 인력이 떨어지는 경우가 있고, 이런 경우 다공성 고분자 지지체와 산화그래핀 코팅층간의 결합력이 약해 산화그래핀 코팅층이 쉽게 박리되는 현상이 발생한다는 문제점이 있다. 뿐만 아니라 산화그래핀으로 코팅하여 분리막을 제조하게 되는 경우, 가장 큰 문제로서 다공성 고분자 지지체의 조밀한 구조로 인한 투과도 저하의 문제가 있다. 즉, 다공성 고분자 지지체의 떨어지는 투과도로 인하여 산화그래핀 코팅층을 통해 투과도 및 선택도를 향상시킨 효과가 크게 반감된다는 문제점이 있었다.
본 발명은 상술한 문제를 해결하기 위해 안출된 것으로서, 본 발명의 목적은 산화그래핀 코팅층 내 유로를 증가시켜 물질의 투과도가 현저히 향상되며, 주변의 물리화학적 자극에도 불구하고 박리되는 현상이 현저히 저감되는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막을 제공하는 것이다.
뿐만 아니라, 본 발명의 목적은 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체의 표면 기능도를 증가시켜 투과율을 향상시키는 것이다. 또한 다공성 고분자 지지체와 산화그래핀 간의 인력을 증가시켜 쉽게 박리되지 않는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체를 제공하는 것이다.
위와 같은 과제를 해결하기 위한 본 발명의 한 특징에 따른 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막은
다공성 고분자 지지체; 및
상기 다공성 고분자 지지체 상에 산화그래핀의 카르복실기와 아민기가 결합하여 아마이드 결합이 형성된 산화그래핀 코팅층;
을 포함한다.
본 발명의 또 다른 특징에 따른 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법 중 첫번째 제조방법은
1) 산화그래핀 분산액을 다공성 지지체 상에 코팅하는 단계; 및
2) 상기 다공성 지지체 상에 코팅된 산화그래핀에 아민 용액을 처리하고, 이를 통해 산화그래핀의 카르복실기와 아민기가 결합하여 아마이드 결합이 형성된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 형성하는 단계;

본 발명의 또 다른 특징에 따른 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체는
친수성의 아민계 화합물을 포함하며, 표면 기공도가 5-20 % 이다.
본 발명의 또 다른 특징에 따른 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체의 제조방법은
1) 다공성 고분자 지지체인 화합물과 친수성 아민계 화합물을 용매에 혼합하여 혼합액을 제조하는 단계; 및
2) 상기 혼합액을 경화시키는 단계;
를 포함한다.
본 발명에 따른 복합막 중에서, 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막은 종래 산화그래핀이 다공성 지지체 상에 코팅된 복합막에 비해 산화그래핀 코팅층 내의 유로를 증가시켜 투과도가 현저히 개선된 것이다. 또한 본 발명에 따른 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법에 의해 복합막을 제조하게 됨녀, 산화그래핀 코팅층 내의 유로가 증가되어 물질의 투과도가 개선된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막이 제조된다. 특히 수처리 분리막에서의 수투과도나, 기체 분리막에서의 기체 투과도를 현저히 향상시킨다.
또한 본 발명에 따른 복합막 중에서, 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막은 주변의 다양한 물리화학적 자극에도 불구하고 산화그래핀 코팅층의 박리 현상을 현저하게 저감시키는 효과가 있다. 그리하여 종래의 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막에 비하여 안정성 및 내구성이 현저히 향상된 복합막을 제공하는 것이 가능하다. 또한 본 발명에 따른 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법에 의해 복합막을 제조하는 경우에도 산화그래핀 코팅층의 박리 현상을 현저하게 저감시켜 복합막의 안정성 및 내구성을 향상시키게 된다. 결국, 본 발명에 따른 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막 및 그 제조방법에 의해 제조된 복합막의 경우 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하고 있음에도 불구하고 수명이 현저히 향상되게 된다.
또한 본 발명에 따른 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체는 종래의 다공성 고분자 지지체에 비해 표면 기공도가 증가하여 투과도를 향상시켰다. 즉, 표면 기공도가 떨어져 산화그래핀 코팅층을 통한 투과도 및 선택도 향상의 효과를 반감시키는 종래 다공성 고분자 지지체의 문제점을 해결하였다. 또한 산화그래핀과 다공성 고분자 지지체 간의 인력을 증가시켜 산화그래핀 코팅층이 다공성 고분자 지지체로부터 쉽게 박리되지 않게 하면서, 균일한 표면을 형성하게 된다.

이에 본 발명자들은 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하면서 물질의 투과도 또는 안정성도 우수한 복합막과 투과도가 우수한 다공성 고분자 지지체를 개발하기 위하여 예의 연구 노력한 결과, 본 발명에 따른 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막, 이를 포함하는 다공성 고분자 지지체 및 이의 제조방법을 발견하여 본 발명을 완성하였다.
구체적으로 본 발명에 따른 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막은
상기 다공성 고분자 지지체 상에 접촉각이 20-60 °인 산화그래핀 코팅층;
을 포함한다.
상기 20-60 °인 접촉각은 자외선 조사 또는 플라즈마 처리되어 형성된 것을 특징으로 한다. 이렇게 산화그래핀 코팅층에 자외선을 조사하거나 플라즈마 처리하게 되면 산화그래핀 코팅층 내의 유로를 증가시키게 되며, 접촉각이 증가하여 물질의 투과도를 향상시키게 된다. 구체적으로는 기체 분리막에서는 기체 투과도가 향상되며, 수처리 분리막에서는 수투과도가 향상되게 된다. 상기 자외선 조사 또는 플라즈마 처리로 인해 산화그래핀 코팅층의 거칠기가 증가하게 되며, 이로 인해 자외선 조사 또는 플라즈마 처리 이전보다 접촉각이 20-60 °로 증가하게 되어 투과도가 향상되게 된다.
상기 자외선의 조사는 특별한 제한이 있는 것은 아니지만, 200-400 nm 에서 0.5-10 분간 조사되는 것이 바람직하다. 이렇게 코팅층 표면에 자외선을 조사하게 되면, 코팅층의 구조가 변형되어 거칠기가 증가하고 산화그래핀 코팅층 내 투과 유로가 증가하여 투과도를 보다 향상시킬 수 있게 된다. 또한 상기 조사 시간을 상기 수치범위로 조사하게 되면 투과도 향상 효과를 최대치로 발현시킬 수 있어 바람직하다.
상기 플라즈마 처리는 특별한 제한이 있는 것은 아니지만, 10-100 W에서 1-15 분간 처리되는 것이 바람직하다. 이렇게 플라즈마 처리를 하게 되면, 코팅층의 구조가 변형되어 거칠기가 더욱 증가하고 산화그래핀 코팅층 내 투과유로가 증가하여 투과도를 보다 향상시킬 수 있게 된다. 또한 상기 플라즈마 처리 시간을 상기 수치범위로 처리하게 되면 투과도 향상 효과를 최대치로 발현시킬 수 있어 바람직하다.
한편 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체는 복합막이나 분리막의 다공성 고분자 지지체로 사용되는 것이라면 특별한 제한이 있는 것은 아니지만, 바람직하게는 폴리술폰, 폴리에테르술폰, 폴리이미드, 폴리에테르이미드, 폴리아미드, 폴리아크릴로니트릴, 셀룰로오즈 아세테이트, 셀룰로오스 트리아세테이트 및 폴리비닐리덴플루오라이드로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 아상일 수 있다.
이렇게 본 발명에 따른 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막을 기체 분리막으로 하는 경우 기체 투과도가 향상되게 되는데, 이러한 기체 분리막의 기체 투과도는 바람직하게는 50-200 GPU에 해당할 수 있다.
또한 본 발명에 따른 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막을 수처리 분리막으로 하는 경우 수투과율이 향상되게 되는데, 이러한 수처리 분리막의 수투과율은 바람직하게는 1-10 LMH/bar 에 해당할 수 있다. 또한 더욱 바람직하게는 자외선 조사한 경우 수처리막의 수투과율은 1-10 LMH/bar 에 해당할 수 있으며, 플라즈마 처리한 경우 수처리막의 수투과율은 1-5 LMH/bar 에 해당할 수 있다.
상기 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법은
1) 산화그래핀 분산액을 다공성 고분자 지지체 상에 코팅하는 단계; 및
2) 상기 1)단계 이후 자외선 조사 또는 플라즈마 처리하여 접촉각이 20-60 °인 산화그래핀 코팅층을 형성하는 단계;
를 포함한다.
상기 2)단계에 따른 자외선 조사 또는 플라즈마 처리 후, 산화그래핀 코팅층의 접촉각은 20-60 °로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 한다.
상기 2)단계에서 자외선 조사는 특별한 제한이 있는 것은 아니지만, 200-400 nm 에서 0.5-10 분간 조사되는 것이 바람직하다.
상기 2)단계에서 플라즈마 처리는 특별한 제한이 있는 것은 아니지만, 10-100 W에서 1-15 분간 처리되는 것이 바람직하다.
한편 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체는 복합막이나 분리막의 다공성 고분자 지지체로 사용되는 것이라면 특별한 제한이 있는 것은 아니지만, 바람직하게는 폴리술폰, 폴리에테르술폰, 폴리이미드, 폴리에테르이미드, 폴리아미드, 폴리아크릴로니트릴, 셀룰로오즈 아세테이트, 셀룰로오스 트리아세테이트 및 폴리비닐리덴플루오라이드로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 아상일 수 있다.
이렇게 본 발명에 따른 제조방법에 의해 제조된 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막을 기체 분리막으로 하는 경우 기체 투과도가 향상되게 되는데, 이러한 기체 분리막의 기체 투과도는 바람직하게는 50-200 GPU에 해당할 수 있다.
또한 본 발명에 따른 제조방법에 의해 제조된 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막을 수처리 분리막으로 하는 경우 수투과율이 향상되게 되는데, 이러한 수처리 분리막의 수투과율은 바람직하게는 1-10 LMH/bar 에 해당할 수 있다. 또한 더욱 바람직하게는 자외선 조사한 경우 수처리막의 수투과율은 1-10 LMH/bar 에 해당할 수 있으며, 플라즈마 처리한 경우 수처리막의 수투과율은 1-5 LMH/bar 에 해당할 수 있다.
한편, 본 발명의 또 다른 특징에 따른 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막은
다공성 고분자 지지체; 및
상기 다공성 고분자 지지체 상에 산화그래핀의 카르복실기와 아민기가 결합하여 아마이드 결합이 형성된 산화그래핀 코팅층;
을 포함한다.
상기 아민기는 아민 그룹을 포함하고 있는 화합물이라면 특별한 제한이 있는 것은 아니며, 바람직하게는 다이아민 또는 트리아민을 포함하는 화합물이거나, 더욱 바람직하게는 에틸렌디아민(ethylenediamine), 디에틸렌트리아민(diethylenetriamine), 트리에틸렌테트라민(Triethylenetetramine), 테트라에틸렌에펜타민(Tetraethylenepentamine), 펜타에틸렌헥사민(Pentaethylenehexamine), 페닐렌디아민(phenylenediamine, PD) 및 폴리에틸렌이민(polyethyleneimine)로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상의 화합물에 포함되어 있는 것일 수 있다.
이렇게 상기 산화그래핀의 카르복실기와 아민기가 결합하여 아마이드 결합을 형성하게 되면 산화그래핀 코팅층이 주변의 물리적 또는 화학적 자극에 대하여 박리되는 현상을 현저히 저감시킬 수 있다. 특히 외부 수분에 의해 박리되기 쉬운 산화그래핀 코팅층에 안정성을 부여하여, 수분이 존재하는 환경에서 쉽게 박리되지 않게 한다. 그러므로 상기 복합막을 수투과막으로 활용하는 경우 쉽게 박리되지 않음은 물론이고, 상기 복합막을 기체 분리막으로 활용하는 경우에도 습기나 수분이 다량으로 존재하는 환경에 노출되는 경우라 하더라도 산화그래핀 코팅층의 박리가 쉽게 일어나지 않게 된다. 또한 이렇게 아마이드 결합이 형성된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막은 산 또는 염기나 초음파 등의 물리화학적 자극에도 재분산 및 박리되지 않는 안정성을 가지게 된다.
또한 상기 산화그래핀 코팅층은 진공여과법, 박막코팅법, 스핀코팅법, 스프레이코팅법 및 딥코팅법으로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상의 방법으로 코팅하여 형성된 산화그래핀 코팅층인 것이 바람직한데, 이러한 방법을 사용하는 경우 산화그래핀 코팅층 내에 균일한 화학적 가교가 일어날 수 있도록 아민 화합물을 포함하는 상태에서 코팅되게 하여 바람직하다.
또한 상기 산화그래핀 코팅층의 pH는 3-5인 것이 바람직하며, 이러한 pH로 수치범위를 조정하는 방법은 특별한 제한이 있는 것은 아니고, 바람직하게는 산용액 등으로 처리되어 형성되는 것이 아마이드 결합 반응을 촉진시켜 바람직하다.
한편 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체는 복합막이나 분리막의 다공성 고분자 지지체로 사용되는 것이라면 특별한 제한이 있는 것은 아니지만, 바람직하게는 폴리술폰, 폴리에테르술폰, 폴리이미드, 폴리에테르이미드, 폴리아미드, 폴리아크릴로니트릴, 셀룰로오즈 아세테이트, 셀룰로오스 트리아세테이트 및 폴리비닐리덴플루오라이드로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상일 수 있다.
이렇게 본 발명에 따른 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막은 산화그래핀 코팅층이 쉽게 박리되지 않아 안정성이 향상되게 된다. 그리하여 이러한 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막은 기체 분리막 또는 수처리 분리막으로 활용할 수 있다.
한편 본 발명에 따른 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막을 수처리 분리막으로 활용하는 경우 수투과율은 바람직하게는 2-20 LMH/bar 에 해당할 수 있어, 산화그래핀 코팅층에 아마이드 결합이 형성되어 있음에도 수투과도가 우수한 분리막에 해당한다.
상기 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법 중 첫번째 제조방법은
1) 산화그래핀 분산액을 다공성 지지체 상에 코팅하는 단계; 및
2) 상기 다공성 지지체 상에 코팅된 산화그래핀에 아민 용액을 처리하고, 이를 통해 산화그래핀의 카르복실기와 아민기가 결합하여 아마이드 결합이 형성된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 형성하는 단계;
를 포함한다.
또한 상기 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법 중 두번째 제조방법은
1) 산화그래핀 분산액과 아민 용액을 혼합하는 단계; 및
2) 상기 혼합액을 다공성 지지체 상에 코팅하여 산화그래핀의 카르복실기와 아민기가 결합하여 아마이드 결합이 형성된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 형성하는 단계;
를 포함한다.
상기 첫번째 또는 두번째 제조방법에 의해 제조된 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막은 산화그래핀의 카르복실기와 아민기가 결합하여 형성된 아마이드 결합을 통해 주변의 물리화학적 자극에도 불구하고 산화그래핀 코팅층의 박리를 현저히 저감시키는 효과가 있다. 특히 외부 수분에 의해 박리되기 쉬운 산화그래핀 코팅층에 안정성을 부여하여, 수분이 존재하는 환경에서 쉽게 박리되지 않게 한다. 그러므로 상기 제조방법에 의해 제조된 복합막을 수투과막으로 활용하는 경우 쉽게 박리되지 않음은 물론이고, 상기 제조방법에 의해 제조된 복합막을 기체 분리막으로 활용하는 경우에도 습기나 수분이 다량으로 존재하는 환경에 노출되는 경우라 하더라도 산화그래핀 코팅층의 박리가 쉽게 일어나지 않게 된다. 또한 이렇게 아마이드 결합이 형성된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막은 산 또는 염기나 초음파 등의 물리화학적 자극에도 재분산 및 박리되지 않는 안정성을 가지게 된다.
한편, 상기 첫번째 또는 두번째 제조방법에서 상기 아민 용액 내에 존재하는 아민은 0.1-2.0 중량%의 비율로 혼합되는 것이 바람직하며, 상기 아민이 0.1 중량% 미만으로 혼합되는 경우 충분한 반응을 이끌어내지 못해 바람직하지 않으며, 상기 아민이 2.0 중량%를 초과하여 혼합되는 경우에는 필요 이상의 양을 투입하는 것이 되어 바람직하지 않다.
또한 상기 두번째 제조방법에서 상기 아민은 전체 혼합액 내에서 0.01-2.0 중량%의 비율로 혼합되는 것이 바람직하며, 상기 아민이 0.01 중량% 미만으로 혼합되는 경우에는 충분한 반응을 이끌어 내지 못하여 바람직하지 않으며, 상기 아민이 2.0 중량%을 초과하여 혼합되는 경우에는 필요 이상의 양을 투입하는 것이 되어 바람직하지 않다.
또한 상기 아민 용액은 아민 그룹을 가지고 있는 용액이라면 특별한 제한이 있는 것은 아니며, 바람직하게는 다이아민 또는 트리아민을 포함하는 화합물이거나, 더욱 바람직하게는 에틸렌디아민(ethylenediamine), 디에틸렌트리아민(diethylenetriamine), 트리에틸렌테트라민(Triethylenetetramine), 테트라에틸렌에펜타민(Tetraethylenepentamine), 펜타에틸렌헥사민(Pentaethylenehexamine), 페닐렌디아민(phenylenediamine, PD) 및 폴리에틸렌이민(polyethyleneimine)으로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상인 것을 사용하여 결합시키는 것일 수 있다.
또한 상기 첫번째 또는 두번째 제조방법의 2)단계 후에 pH를 3-5로 조정하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것이 바람직하다. 이렇게 pH를 3-5로 조정하는 단계를 더 포함하게 되면 산화그래핀의 카르복실기와 아민 용액의 아민 그룹이 보다 원활하게 반응하게 된다. 이때 상기 pH를 3-5로 조정하는 방법은 특별한 제한이 있는 것은 아니며, 바람직하게는 산 용액으로 처리하여 조정할 수 있다. 이렇게 산 용액으로 처리하는 경우에는 산화그래핀 코팅층 표면을 보다 균일하게 하는 효과도 있어 바람직하다.
또한 상기 산화그래핀 코팅층은 진공여과법, 박막코팅법, 스핀코팅법, 스프레이코팅법 및 딥코팅법으로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상의 방법으로 코팅하여 형성된 산화그래핀 코팅층인 것이 바람직하다.
한편 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체는 복합막이나 분리막의 다공성 고분자 지지체로 사용되는 것이라면 특별한 제한이 있는 것은 아니지만, 바람직하게는 폴리술폰, 폴리에테르술폰, 폴리이미드, 폴리에테르이미드, 폴리아미드, 폴리아크릴로니트릴, 셀룰로오즈 아세테이트, 셀룰로오스 트리아세테이트 및 폴리비닐리덴플루오라이드로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 아상일 수 있다.
이렇게 본 발명에 따른 상기 첫번째 또는 두번째 제조방법에 의해 제조된 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막은 산화그래핀 코팅층이 쉽게 박리되지 않아 안정성이 향상되게 된다. 이렇게 제조된 복합막은 기체 분리막 또는 수처리 분리막으로 활용하는 것이 가능하다.
한편 본 발명에 따른 제조방법에 의해 제조된 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막을 수처리 분리막으로 활용하는 경우 수투과율은 바람직하게는 2-20 LMH/bar 에 해당할 수 있어, 산화그래핀 코팅층에 아마이드 결합이 형성되어 있음에도 수투과도 또한 우수한 분리막에 해당한다.
한편, 본 발명의 또 다른 특징에 따른 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체는 친수성의 아민계 화합물을 포함하며, 표면 기공도가 5-20 % 이다.
이러한 본 발명에 따른 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체는 상기 친수성의 아민계 화합물이 다공성 고분자 지지체에 포함되어 표면 기공도를 향상시키게 된다. 그리하여 본 발명은 투과도 및 선택도를 향상시키기 위해 산화그래핀을 코팅시켰음에도 불구하고 다공성 고분자 지지체의 낮은 투과율로 인하여 산화그래핀 코팅 효과가 반감되는 문제를 해결한 것으로서, 고투과율을 보이는 다공성 고분자 지지체에 관한 발명이다.
한편 상기 친수성의 아민계 화합물을 제외한 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체는 폴리술폰(PSF, Polysulfone), 폴리에테르술폰(PES, Polyether sulfone), 폴리비닐리덴플루오라이드(PVDF, Polyvinylidene fluoride) 및 폴리아크릴로니트릴(PAN, Polyacrylonitrile)로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상인 것이 바람직하다. 이는 상기 친수성 아민계 화합물과 결합하는 경우 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체만이 표면 기공도가 증가하여 투과도가 현저하게 향상되게 된다. 즉, 종래 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체로 사용되던 물질로는 폴리술폰, 폴리에테르술폰, 폴리이미드, 폴리에테르이미드, 폴리아미드, 폴리아크릴로니트릴, 셀룰로오즈 아세테이트, 셀룰로오스 트리아세테이트 및 폴리비닐리덴플루오라이드 등이 있는데, 이들 모두가 본 발명에 적용되는 것은 아니다. 또한 본 발명과 같은 다공성 고분자 지지체의 경우 친수성 아민계 화합물과 반응하여 산화그래핀 코팅층과 다공성 고분자 지지체 간의 인력을 증가시키게 되고, 결과적으로 산화그래핀 코팅층이 쉽게 박리되는 것을 방지함과 동시에 균일한 표면 코팅이 가능하게 된다.
또한 상기 친수성의 아민계 화합물은 폴리비닐피롤리돈(PVP, Polyvinylpyrrolidone) 또는 폴리에틸렌이민(PEI, Polyethylenimine)인 것이 바람직하다. 상기 PVP 또는 PEI인 경우 본 발명에 따른 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체와 충분히 반응하여 다공성 고분자 지지체의 표면 기공도를 현저히 증가시키게 된다. 또한 이러한 친수성의 아민계 화합물인 PVP 또는 PEI의 분자량 및 함량을 조절하여 표면 및 전체 기공도를 조절하는 것이 가능하다.
상기 친수성의 아민계 화합물은 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체 내에 0.1-10 중량%로 포함되는 것이 바람직한데, 상기 친수성의 아민계 화합물이 0.1 중량% 미만으로 포함되면 다공성 고분자 지지체와 산화그래핀 간의 인력이 충분히 증가되기 어려워 바람직하지 않으며, 상기 친수성의 아민계 화합물이 10 중량%를 초과하여 포함되면 다공성 고분자 지지체의 기공크기 및 투과도가 현저히 감소하며 필요 이상을 투입하는 것이 되어 바람직하지 않다.
또한 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체에는 메탄올, 에탄올 및 이소프로필 알코올로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상을 더 포함하는 것이 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체의 표면 기공도를 보다 현저하게 증가시키게 되어 바람직하다.
이러한 본 발명에 따른 다공성 고분자 지지체는 표면 기공도가 증가하여 산화그래핀 코팅 효과를 최대치로 발현시키게 된다. 또한 산화그래핀 코팅층과 다공성 고분자 지지체 간의 인력이 증가하여 산화그래핀 코팅층이 다공성 고분자 지지체로부터 쉽게 박리되지 않으면서 균일한 표면을 형성한다.
이러한 본 발명에 따른 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체의 제조방법은
1) 다공성 고분자 지지체인 화합물과 친수성 아민계 화합물을 용매에 혼합하여 혼합액을 제조하는 단계; 및
2) 상기 혼합액을 경화시키는 단계;
를 포함한다.
상기 다공성 고분자 지지체는 폴리술폰(PSF, Polysulfone), 폴리에테르술폰(PES, Polyether sulfone), 폴리비닐리덴플루오라이드(PVDF, Polyvinylidene fluoride) 및 폴리아크릴로니트릴(PAN, Polyacrylonitrile)로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함한다. 상기 친수성의 아민계 화합물은 폴리비닐피롤리돈(PVP, polyvinylpyrrolidone) 또는 폴리에틸렌이민(PEI, polyethylenimine)인 것이 바람직하다. 그리하여 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체와 상기 친수성의 아민계 화합물을 혼합하는 경우 다공성 고분자 지지체의 표면 기공도를 현저히 증가시키게 되어 투과도를 현저히 증가시킬 수 있어 바람직하다.
상기 1)단계에 따른 혼합액에서 다공성 고분자 지지체인 화합물은 5-25 중량%로 혼합되는 것이 바람직한데, 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체가 5 중량% 미만으로 혼합되는 경우 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체로서 특성을 발휘하기 어려워 바람직하지 않으며, 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체가 25 중량%를 초과하는 경우에는 표면 기공도가 현저히 저하되어 바람직하지 않다. 또한 상기 1)단계에 따른 혼합액에서 친수성의 아민계 화합물은 0.1-10 중량%로 혼합되는 것이 바람직한데, 상기 친수성 아민계 화합물이 0.1 중량% 미만으로 혼합되는 경우에는 다공성 고분자 지지체와 산화그래핀 간의 인력이 충분히 증가되기 어려워 바람직하지 않으며, 상기 친수성 아민계 화합물이 10 중량%를 초과하는 경우에는 다공성 고분자 지지체의 기공크기 및 투과도가 현저히 감소하며 필요 이상을 투입하는 것이 되어 비경제적이므로 바람직하지 않다. 한편 이러한 친수성의 아민계 화합물인 PVP 또는 PEI의 분자량 및 함량을 조절하여 표면 및 전체 기공도를 조절하는 것이 가능하다.
또한 상기 1)단계에 따른 혼합액에 메탄올, 에탄올 및 이소프로필 알코올로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상을 더 포함하는 것이 친수성의 아민계 화합물만 혼합하는 경우보다 다공성 고분자 지지체의 표면 기공도를 현저히 증가시키는 것이 되어 바람직하다. 또한 이러한 메탄올, 에탄올 및 이소프로필 알코올로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상은 상기 혼합액 내에서 0.1-20 중량%로 포함되는 것이 바람직한데, 0.1 중량% 미만으로 혼합되는 경우에는 표면 기공도 확장 효과가 충분히 발현되기 어려워 바람직하지 않으며, 20 중량%를 초과하는 경우에는 상전이를 통한 고분자의 경화가 제대로 발현되지 않아 바람직하지 않다. 또한 상기 메탄올, 에탄올 및 이소프로필 알코올로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상은 더욱 바람직하게는 0.1-15 중량%로 포함되는 것이 바람직하다.
또한 상기 2)단계 이후, 다공성 고분자 지지체에 플라즈마를 처리하게 되면 표면 기공도가 더욱 증가하게 되어 투과도가 보다 향상되게 되어 바람직하다.
한편 본 발명에 따른 제조방법에 의해 제조된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체의 표면 기공도는 5-20 %에 해당하여 종래 다공성 고분자 지지체에 비해 투과도가 현저히 향상되는 것에 해당한다.
이렇게 본 발명에 따른 제조방법에 의해 제조된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체는 표면 기공도가 크게 증가하여 산화그래핀을 다공성 고분자 지지체에 코팅한 효과를 극대화시키는 것이 가능하다. 또한 산화그래핀 코팅층과 다공성 고분자 지지체 간에 인력을 극대화하여 다공성 고분자 지지체로부터 산화그래핀 코팅층을 쉽게 박리시키지 않으면서 균일한 표면 코팅을 가능하게 한다.
이렇게 본 발명에 따른 다공성 고분자 지지체를 포함하는 산화그래핀 복합막은 투과도가 현저히 향상되게 된다. 특히 이러한 복합막을 기체 분리막으로 활용하는 경우 기체 투과도는 50-300 GPU에 해당할 정도로 기체 투과도가 우수하다. 또한 이러한 복합막을 수처리 분리막으로 활용하는 경우 수투과율은 2-20 LMH/bar 에 해당하여 수투과도도 우수하다.
이하 본 발명을 바람직한 실시예를 참고로 하여 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자가 용이하게 실시할 수 있도록 상세히 설명한다. 그러나 본 발명은 여러 가지 상이한 형태로 구현될 수 있으며 여기에서 설명하는 실시예에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
1. 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막에 관한 실시예 및 실험예
실시예 1
<실시예 1-1:산화그래핀 코팅층의 자외선 조사>
산화그래핀 분산액을 스핀 코팅 방법을 활용하여 폴리에테르설폰(Polyethersulfone) 다공성 고분자 지지체 상에 10 nm 두께로 균일하게 도포하여 산화그래핀 복합막을 제조한 후, 산화그래핀 코팅층에 자외선 조사를 하였다. 이때 자외선 조사는 2 가지 파장으로 나누어 실시하였다. 첫 번째 자외선 조사(실시예 1-1-1)는 265 nm 크기의 파장으로 5 분간 처리하였다. 두 번째 자외선 조사(실시예 1-1-2)는 352 nm 크기의 파장으로 5 분간 처리하였다.
<실시예 1-2: 산화그래핀 코팅층의 플라즈마 처리>
산화그래핀 분산액을 스핀 코팅 방법을 활용하여 다공성 지지층 상에 10 nm 두께로 균일하게 도포하여 산화그래핀 복합막을 제조한 후, 산소그래핀 코팅층에 산소 플라즈마를 처리하였다. 이때 산소 플라즈마 처리는 2 가지 세기로 나누어 실시하였다. 첫 번째 플라즈마 처리(실시예 1-2-1)는 50 W에서 5 분간 처리하였다. 두 번째 플라즈마 처리(실시예 1-2-2)는 100 W에서 5 분간 처리하였다.
비교예 1-1
산화그래핀 분산액을 스핀 코팅 방법을 활용하여 다공성 지지체 상에 10 nm 두께로 균일하게 도포하여 산화그래핀 복합막을 제조하였으며, 상기 실시예와는 달리 자외선 조사 또는 플라즈마 처리는 하지 않았다.
실험예 1
<실험예 1-1: 산화그래핀 코팅층의 접촉각 측정>
상기 실시예 1-1, 실시예 1-2 및 비교예 1-1에 따른 산화그래핀 코팅층의 접촉각을 측정하였다. 이의 실험은 물방울과 코팅층 표면이 이루는 각의 측정을 통해 접촉각을 측정하였고, 이의 결과는 도 1 내지 도 3에 나타내었다. 그 결과 먼저 비교예 1-1의 경우는 도 1에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 접촉각이 20 °임에 반하여, 실시예 1-1의 경우는 도 2에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 접촉각이 20-50 °이었으며, 실시예 1-2의 경우는 도 3에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 접촉각이 20-60 °임을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과를 통해 산화그래핀 코팅층에 자외선 조사 또는 플라즈마 처리를 하는 경우 산화그래핀 코팅층의 접촉각이 증가하는 것임을 확인할 수 있었다.
<실험예 1-2: 기체 분리막의 기체 투과도 측정>
상기 실시예 1-1, 실시예 1-2 및 비교예 1-1에 따른 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막을 다시 기체 분리막으로 각각 제조한 후, 각각의 기체 투과도를 측정하였다. 이의 측정은 가압식 단일기체 측정법으로 측정하였으며, 이의 결과는 하기 도 4 내지 도 6에 각각 나타내었다. 그 결과 먼저 비교예 1-1의 경우는 도 4에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 산소, 질소, 이산화탄소 기체 투과도가 각각 3, 1, 70 GPU 에 불과한 것임을 확인할 수 있었다. 반면에 실시예 1-1의 경우는 도 5에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 이산화탄소 기체 투과도가 100-110 GPU 임을 확인할 수 있었고, 실시예 1-2의 경우는 도 6에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 산소, 질소 기체 투과도가 10-30 GPU 임을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 통해 접촉각이 증가한 실시예 1-1 및 실시예 1-2를 가지고 제조된 기체 분리막의 경우가 비교예 1-1을 가지고 제조된 기체 분리막의 경우에 비해 기체 투과도가 향상된 것임을 확인할 수 있었다.
<실험예 1-3: 수처리막의 수투과도 측정>
상기 실시예 1-1, 실시예 1-2 및 비교예 1-1에 따른 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막을 다시 수처리 분리막으로 각각 제조한 후, 각각의 수투과도를 측정하였다. 이의 측정은 교반식 전량 여과 방법으로 측정하였으며, 이의 결과는 하기 도 7 내지 도 9에 각각 나타내었다. 그 결과 먼저 비교예의 경우는 도 7에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 수투과도가 0.5-1 LMH/bar 에 불과한 것임을 확인할 수 있었다. 반면에 실시예 1-1의 경우는 도 8에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 수투과도가 1.5-10 LMH/bar 임을 확인할 수 있었고, 실시예 2의 경우는 도 9에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 수투과도가 1-5 LMH/bar 임을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 통해 접촉각이 증가한 실시예 1-1 및 실시예 1-2를 가지고 제조된 수처리막의 경우가 비교예 1-1을 가지고 제조된 수처리막의 경우에 비해 수투과도가 향상된 것임을 확인할 수 있었다.
2. 안정성이 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막에 관한 실시예 및 실험예
실시예 2
<실시예 2-1>
산화그래핀 100 mg을 초순수 물 100 ml에 분산시켜 산화그래핀 분산액을 수득하였다. 여기에 m-페닐렌디아민(m-phenylenediamine, MPD) 아민 용액을 0.1 wt%로 혼합하였다. 이러한 과정을 거친 혼합액을 폴리에테르설폰(Polyethersulfone) 다공성 고분자 지지체에 진공여과법 및 박막 코팅법을 사용하여 코팅하였다. 그 후 이렇게 코팅된 산화그래핀 코팅층에 염산(HCl)을 이용하여 pH 4 산용액을 처리하였다. 이러한 제조과정을 통해 최종 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막을 제조하였다. 한편 도 10에서 좌측은 산화그래핀 분산액이며, 중앙은 pH 4로 조정된 산화그래핀 분산액이고, 우측은 아민 용액으로 가교 침전된 혼합액이다. 또한 도 11의 좌측은 아민 처리하지 않은 산화그래핀 코팅층을 나타내며, 우측은 아민이 처리된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 나타내는 사진이다.
<실시예 2-2>
상기 실시예 2-1과는 달리 산화그래핀 분산액을 다공성 지지체에 코팅하여 산화그래핀을 먼저 코팅한 후, 여기에 아민 용액을 후 처리하여 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막을 제조하였다.
비교예 2-1
아민 용액이 혼합되지 않은 산화그래핀 분산액을 다공성 지지체에 코팅하여 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막을 제조하였다.
실험예 2
<실험예 2-1: 산화그래핀 코팅층의 박리 여부 측정>
상기 실시예 2-1 및 비교예 2-1에 따라 제조된 복합막을 초순수에 침지 및 교반시켜 산화그래핀 코팅층의 박리 여부를 측정하였다. 또한 보다 정량적인 분석을 위하여 압력여과 방식으로 제조된 산화그래핀 복합막의 수투과도 변화를 측정하여 산화그래핀 코팅층의 박리 여부를 측정하였다. 이의 결과는 하기 도 12 내지 도 13에 나타내었다. 하기 도 12에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 실시예 2-1(도 12 우측)에 따른 산화그래핀 코팅층의 경우에는 쉽게 박리되지 않음을 확인할 수 있는 반면에, 비교예 2-1(도 12 좌측)에 따른 산화그래핀 코팅층의 경우에는 실시예 2-1에 비해 쉽게 박리됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 도 13에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 아민 용액을 후 처리한 실시예 2-2의 경우에도 산화그래핀의 가교를 통하여 박리현상이 발생하지 않았기 때문에 일정한 수투과도를 나타내었으나, 비교예 2-1에 따른 산화그래핀 코팅층의 경우 물이 투과할 때 코팅층의 박리현상으로 인하여 수투과도가 산화그래핀 코팅 전의 수투과도로 복귀하는 현상을 나타내었다.
<실험예 2-2: 수처리막의 수투과도 측정>
상기 실시예 2-1, 실시예 2-2 및 비교예 2-1에 따른 복합막을 수처리막으로 하여, 각각의 수투과도를 측정하는 실험을 진행하였다. 이의 실험은 교반식 전량 여과 방법으로 측정하였다. 앞서 실험예 2-1에서와 같이 비교예 2-1에 따른 산화그래핀 코팅층의 경우 박리현상으로 인하여 수투과도 측정이 불가하였다. 또한 실시예 2-2의 경우는 pH 4의 디에틸트리아민 용액 처리 전/후의 산화그래핀 코팅층 두께별 복합막의 수투과도를 비교하여 도 14에 나타내었으며 이로 보아 아민 처리후 산화그래핀 코팅층의 안정화에 따른 수투과도가 감소함을 확인하였다. 또한 디에틸트리아민(N3), 펜타에틸렌헥사민(N6), m-페닐렌디아민(MPD)을 이용하여 산화그래핀 복합막을 처리하여 이에 따른 수투과도 및 염배제율을 도 15에 나타내었으며 이에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 아민 구조에 따라 지방족 아민계 단량체의 경우 수투과도가 높으며 방향족 아민계를 사용한 경우 배제율이 비교적 높게 나타났다. 도 16에서 실시예 2-1 및 실시예 2-2로 제조된 산화그래핀 복합막의 수투과도 및 염 배제율을 비교해보았을 때 차이가 없는 것으로 보아 산화그래핀 표면에 접촉한 아민이 산화그래핀 층 내부로 확산되어 산화그래핀 층 전체에 가교 반응이 일어난 것으로 확인되었다.
<실험예 2-3>
한편 부가적인 실험으로서, 상기 비교예 2-1 및 실시예 2-2의 표면원소 분석 및 결정성을 비교하였다. 이의 결과는 도 17 내지 도 18에 나타내었다. 도 17에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 비교예 2-1에 비해 실시예 2-2에서 질소원소의 함량이 증가함에 따라 산화그래핀 층에 아민기가 결합해 있음을 확인할 수 있었으며 또한 도 18에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 실시예 2-2의 경우가 비교예 2-1에 비해 아민이 산화그래핀 적층 구조 내에 삽입되면서 층간거리가 소폭 상승함을 확인할 수 있다.
3. 투과도가 향상된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체에 관한 실시예 실험예
실시예 3
<실시예 3-1>
PES 고분자 및 첨가제인 PVP 고분자를 DMF 용액에 각각 12 중량%, 3 중량%로 용해하여 균일한 도프를 제조하고 고분자 용액을 PET 부직포 상에 250 ㎛ 두께로 캐스팅 한 후 25 ℃물에 상전이 방법을 통하여 다공성 고분자 지지체를 제조하였다.
<실시예 3-2>
PES 고분자 및 첨가제인 PVP 고분자를 DMF 용액에 각각 12 중량%, 3 중량%로 용해하여 균일한 도프를 제조하고 이에 에탄올 10 중량%를 첨가하였다. 고분자 용액을 PET 부직포 상에 250 ㎛ 두께로 캐스팅 한 후 25 ℃ 물에 상전이 방법을 통하여 다공성 고분자 지지체를 제조하였다.
<실시예 3-3>
상기 실시예 3-1 및 실시예 3-2에 따라 제조한 다공성 고분자 지지체를 가지고 상전이법을 활용하여 복합막을 제조하였으며, 이렇게 제조된 복합막의 표면 기공도를 극대화시키기 위하여 산소 플라즈마를 각각 50 W, 100 W 에서 10 분간 처리하였다.
비교예 3-1
PVP를 혼합하지 않고 PES 만을 혼합하여 제조한 것을 제외하고는 상기 실시예 1과 동일한 방법을 사용하여 다공성 고분자 지지층을 제조하였다.
실험예 3
<실험예 3-1: 다공성 고분자 지지체의 표면 기공도 측정>
상기 실시예 3-1에 따른 제조과정 중 PVP의 함량을 8 중량%(도 19a), 5 중량%(도 19b), 2 중량%(도 19c)로 하는 경우 하기 도 19에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 PVP의 함량이 적어질수록 접촉각이 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있어 표면 친수성이 감소함을 확인하였다. 또한 도 20 및 도 21에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 PVP의 함량이 감소할 수록(도 20a 및 도 21a: 8 중량%, 도 20b 및 도 21b: 5 중량%, 도 20c 및 도 21c: 2 중량%) 표면 기공도가 증가하고, 다공성의 지지체 구조를 형성함을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과를 통해 PVP의 함량이 감소할수록 다공성 고분자 지지체의 표면 기공도가 증가하여 투과도가 향상되는 것임을 확인하였다.
한편 실시예 3-2에 따른 제조과정 중 에탄올의 함량을 0 중량%(도 22a), 5 중량%(도 22b), 10 중량%(도 22c), 15 중량%(도 22d)로 하는 경우 하기 도 22에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 에탄올의 함량을 증가시킴에 따라 표면 기공도가 증가하되, 10 중량%를 넘어서게 되면 표면 기공도가 다시 감소하는 경향을 보임을 확인할 수 있었다.
<실험예 3-2: 이산화탄소에 대한 기체 투과도 측정>
하기 도 23은 실시예 3-1에 의한 다공성 고분자 지지체(●) 및 이를 가지고 산화그래핀을 코팅하여 제조한 기체 분리막(○)을 가지고 이산화탄소에 대한 기체 투과도를 측정한 결과이다. 다만 하기 도 23은 PVP의 함량은 그대로 하면서 PES의 농도만을 변화시키면서 다공성 고분자 지지체를 제조한 후, 이들을 가지고 이산화탄소에 대한 기체 투과도를 측정하였다. 그 결과 PES의 함량이 낮을수록 표면 및 전체 기공도가 증가하여 이산화탄소 기체 투과도가 증가하였다. 한편 도 24(●: 실시예 3-1에 의한 다공성 고분자 지지체, ○: 실시예 3-1을 가지고 산화그래핀을 코팅하여 제조한 기체 분리막)은 이와는 반대로 실시예 3-1에 의하되 PES의 함량은 그대로 하면서 PVP의 함량만 변화시켰는데, PVP가 PES의 함량보다 이산화탄소에 대한 투과도에 미치는 영향이 보다 큼을 확인하였다.
한편 에탄올을 투입한 실시예 3-2에 따른 다공성 고분자 지지체의 경우 이산화탄소에 대한 기체 투과도를 측정하였으며, 이의 결과는 하기 도 25에 나타내었다. 하기 도 25에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 에탄올의 함량이 증가함에 따라 이산화탄소에 대한 기체 투과도가 크게 증가함을 확인할 수 있었다. 하지만 에탄올이 대략 10 중량%를 넘어서는 순간부터 이산화탄소에 대한 기체 투과도는 다시 감소함을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 도 26에서는 실시예 3-2의 다공성 고분자 지지체를 가지고 산화그래핀을 코팅하여 기체 분리막으로 제조한 경우 이산화탄소에 대한 기체 투과도를 측정한 결과를 나타냈으며, 이 경우에도 이산화탄소에 대한 기체 투과도가 크게 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다.
<실험예 3-3: PVP 첨가 유무에 따른 산화그래핀 코팅층 표면 측정>
실시예 3-1 및 비교예 3-1에 따른 다공성 고분자 지지체를 가지고 산화그래핀을 코팅한 경우, 산화그래핀 코팅층이 쉽게 박리되는지 여부를 측정하였다. 이의 결과는 하기 도 27에 나타내었다. 하기 도 27에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 비교예 3-1(도 27a)의 경우에는 산화그래핀 코팅층과 다공성 고분자 지지체 간에 인력이 적어 균일한 산화그래핀 코팅층을 형성하는 것이 어려움을 확인하였다. 반면에 실시예 3-1(도 27b)의 경우에는 PVP와 산화그래핀 코팅층 간의 인력으로 인하여 균일한 코팅층의 형성이 가능함을 확인하였다. 또한 인력이 증가하여 쉽게 박리되지 않음을 확인하였다.
<실험예 3-4: 플라즈마 처리에 따른 결과>
상기 실시예 3-3과 같이 플라즈마를 처리하게 되면 어떤 효과가 있는지 측정하였다. 이 결과 하기 도 28(a: 0 분, b: 2 분, c: 3 분, d: 5 분)에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 처리 시간에 따라 표면 기공도가 크게 증가하는 것을 확인하였으며, 도 29에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 일정 조건 이상에서 다공성 고분자 지지체의 수투과도 또한 크게 증가하였다. 또한 도 30에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 이러한 다공성 고분자 지지체를 이용하여 산화그래핀을 코팅하고 이를 복합막으로 제조하는 경우도 수투과도가 크게 향상됨을 확인하였다.
상기에서는 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예에 대하여 설명하였지만, 본 발명은 이에 한정되는 것은 아니고, 본 발명의 기술 사상 범위 내에서 여러 가지로 변형하여 실시하는 것이 가능하고, 이 또한 첨부된 특허 청구 범위에 속하는 것은 당연하다.

Claims (32)

  1. 다공성 고분자 지지체; 및
    상기 다공성 고분자 지지체 상에 접촉각이 20-60 °인 산화그래핀 코팅층;
    을 포함하는 복합막.
  2. 제 1항에 있어서,
    상기 20-60 °인 접촉각은 자외선 조사 또는 플라즈마 처리되어 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막.
  3. 제 2항에 있어서,
    상기 자외선은 200-400 nm 에서 0.5-10 분간 조사되는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막.
  4. 제 2항에 있어서,
    상기 플라즈마는 10-100 W에서 1-15 분간 처리하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막.
  5. 1) 산화그래핀 분산액을 다공성 고분자 지지체 상에 코팅하는 단계; 및
    2) 상기 1)단계 이후 자외선 조사 또는 플라즈마 처리하여 접촉각이 20-60 °인 산화그래핀 코팅층을 형성하는 단계;
    를 포함하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법.
  6. 제 5항에 있어서,
    상기 2)단계에서 자외선은 200-400 nm 에서 0.5-10 분간 조사되는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법.
  7. 제 5항에 있어서,
    상기 2)단계에서 플라즈마는 10-100 W에서 1-15 분간 처리하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법.
  8. 다공성 고분자 지지체; 및
    상기 다공성 고분자 지지체 상에 산화그래핀의 카르복실기와 아민기가 결합하여 아마이드 결합이 형성된 산화그래핀 코팅층;
    을 포함하는 복합막.
  9. 제 8항에 있어서,
    상기 아민기는 에틸렌디아민(ethylenediamine), 디에틸렌트리아민(diethylenetriamine), 트리에틸렌테트라민(Triethylenetetramine), 테트라에틸렌에펜타민(Tetraethylenepentamine), 펜타에틸렌헥사민(Pentaethylenehexamine), 페닐렌디아민(phenylenediamine, PD) 및 폴리에틸렌이민(polyethyleneimine)로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상의 화합물에 포함되어 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막.
  10. 제 8항에 있어서,
    상기 산화그래핀 코팅층은 진공여과법, 박막코팅법, 스핀코팅법, 스프레이코팅법 및 딥코팅법으로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택된 어느 하나 이상의 방법으로 코팅되어 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막.
  11. 제 8항에 있어서,
    상기 산화그래핀 코팅층의 pH는 3-5인 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막.
  12. 1) 산화그래핀 분산액을 다공성 지지체 상에 코팅하는 단계; 및
    2) 상기 다공성 지지체 상에 코팅된 산화그래핀에 아민 용액을 처리하고, 이를 통해 산화그래핀의 카르복실기와 아민기가 결합하여 아마이드 결합이 형성된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 형성하는 단계;
    를 포함하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법.
  13. 1) 산화그래핀 분산액과 아민 용액을 혼합하는 단계; 및
    2) 상기 혼합액을 다공성 지지체 상에 코팅하여 산화그래핀의 카르복실기와 아민기가 결합하여 아마이드 결합이 형성된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 형성하는 단계;
    를 포함하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법.
  14. 제 12항 또는 제 13항에 있어서,
    상기 아민 용액 내에 존재하는 아민은 0.1-2.0 중량% 의 비율로 혼합되는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법.
  15. 제 13항에 있어서,
    상기 아민은 전체 혼합액 내에서 0.01-2.0 중량% 의 비율로 혼합되는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법.
  16. 제 12항 또는 제 13항에 있어서,
    상기 아민은 에틸렌디아민(ethylenediamine), 디에틸렌트리아민(diethylenetriamine), 트리에틸렌테트라민(Triethylenetetramine), 테트라에틸렌에펜타민(Tetraethylenepentamine), 펜타에틸렌헥사민(Pentaethylenehexamine), 페닐렌디아민(phenylenediamine, PD) 및 폴리에틸렌이민(polyethyleneimine)으로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법.
  17. 제 12항 또는 제 13항에 있어서,
    상기 2)단계 이후에 상기 아민 용액의 pH를 3-5로 조정하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법.
  18. 제 12항 또는 제 13항에 있어서,
    상기 코팅은 진공여과법, 박막코팅법, 스핀코팅법, 스프레이코팅법 및 딥코팅법으로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택된 어느 하나 이상의 방법으로 코팅하는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막의 제조방법.
  19. 친수성의 아민계 화합물을 포함하며, 표면 기공도가 5-20 %인 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체.
  20. 제 19항에 있어서,
    상기 친수성의 아민계 화합물을 제외한 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체는 폴리술폰(PSF, Polysulfone), 폴리에테르술폰(PES, Polyether sulfone), 폴리비닐리덴플루오라이드(PVDF, Polyvinylidene fluoride) 및 폴리아크릴로니트릴(PAN, Polyacrylonitrile)로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체.
  21. 제 19항에 있어서,
    상기 친수성의 아민계 화합물은 폴리비닐피롤리돈(PVP, polyvinylpyrrolidone) 또는 폴리에틸렌이민(PEI, polyethylenimine)인 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체.
  22. 제 19항에 있어서,
    상기 친수성의 아민계 화합물은 상기 다공성 고분자 지지체 내에서 0.1-10 중량%로 포함되는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체.
  23. 제 19항에 있어서,
    상기 다공성 고분자 지지체에 메탄올, 에탄올 및 이소프로필 알코올로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체.
  24. 1) 다공성 고분자 지지체인 화합물과 친수성 아민계 화합물을 용매에 혼합하여 혼합액을 제조하는 단계; 및
    2) 상기 혼합액을 경화시키는 단계;
    를 포함하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체의 제조방법.
  25. 제 24항에 있어서,
    상기 다공성 고분자 지지체는 폴리술폰(PSF, Polysulfone), 폴리에테르술폰(PES, Polyether sulfone), 폴리비닐리덴플루오라이드(PVDF, Polyvinylidene fluoride) 및 폴리아크릴로니트릴(PAN, Polyacrylonitrile)로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체의 제조방법.
  26. 제 24항에 있어서,
    상기 친수성의 아민계 화합물은 폴리비닐피롤리돈(PVP, polyvinylpyrrolidone) 또는 폴리에틸렌이민(PEI, polyethylenimine)인 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체의 제조방법.
  27. 제 24항에 있어서,
    상기 1)단계에 따른 혼합액에서 다공성 고분자 지지체인 화합물은 5-25 중량%로 혼합되는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체의 제조방법.
  28. 제 24항에 있어서,
    상기 1)단계에 따른 혼합액에서 친수성의 아민계 화합물은 0.1-10 중량%로 혼합되는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체의 제조방법.
  29. 제 24항에 있어서,
    상기 1)단계에 따른 혼합액에 메탄올, 에탄올 및 이소프로필 알코올로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체의 제조방법.
  30. 제 29항에 있어서,
    상기 메탄올, 에탄올 및 이소프로필 알코올로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상은 상기 혼합액 내에서 0.1-20 중량%로 포함되는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체의 제조방법.
  31. 제 24항에 있어서,
    상기 2)단계 이후에 플라즈마를 처리하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체의 제조방법.
  32. 제 24항에 있어서,
    상기 제조방법에 의해 제조된 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체의 표면 기공도는 5-20 %인 것을 특징으로 하는 산화그래핀 코팅층을 포함하는 복합막용 다공성 고분자 지지체의 제조방법.
