Abstract
Description
近年、道路通行車両の増大、或いは高速化といった事情に伴って、優れた強度、耐摩耗性を有するアスファルト組成物の要求がますます高まっている。このため、より高い軟化点、伸度や弾性率などの機械的強度が必要とされ、そのためにブロック共重合体のアスファルト組成物への分散性が求められている。
また、特許文献2には、ビニル芳香族炭化水素と共役ジエンからなるブロック共重合体、フィラーを含有するルーフィングシングル用アスファルト組成物が開示されている。
特許文献3では、発泡剤を添加剤として含むアスファルト組成物が開示されており、また特許文献4では加硫されたアスファルト組成物が開示されている。
本発明は、上記の従来技術が有する課題に鑑みてなされたものであり、アスファルト組成物とした際に、優れた分散性を発揮する重合体を提供することを目的とする。

本実施形態の重合体は、共役ジエン単量体単位とビニル芳香族単量体単位とを含む重合体である。また、本実施形態の重合体は、ビニル芳香族単量体単位を主体とする重合体ブロック(A)、及び共役ジエン単量体単位とビニル芳香族単量体単位を含む重合体ブロック(B)を有し、前記重合体ブロック(A)の含有量が10質量%以上40質量%以下である。さらに、本実施形態の重合体は、嵩密度が0.05g/mL以上0.45g/mL以下であり、比表面積が0.10m2/g以上0.60m2/g以下である。
上記のように構成されているため、本実施形態の重合体は、アスファルト組成物とした際に、優れた分散性を発揮することができる。
以下、水素添加(水添)されない場合、及び、水添する前における本実施形態の重合体を、「ベース非水添重合体」と記載する場合がある。また、水添後の本が実施形態の重合体を「水添重合体」と記載する場合がある。
共役ジエン化合物は一対の共役二重結合を有するジオレフィンであり、共役ジエン化合物の例としては、以下に限定されないが、1,3-ブタジエン、2-メチル-1,3-ブタジエン(イソプレン)、2,3-ジメチル-1,3-ブタジエン、1,3-ペンタジエン、2-メチル-1,3-ペンタジエン、1,3-ヘキサジエン等が挙げられる。中でも、好ましくは1,3-ブタジエン及びイソプレンである。共役ジエン化合物は一種のみならず二種以上を使用してもよい。
ビニル芳香族化合物の例としては、以下に限定されないが、スチレン、α-メチルスチレン、p-メチルスチレン、ジビニルベンゼン、1,1-ジフェニルエチレン、N,N-ジメチル-p-アミノエチルスチレン、N,N-ジエチル-p-アミノエチルスチレン等が挙げられる。ビニル芳香族化合物は一種のみならず二種以上を使用してもよい。
アスファルト組成物の軟化点、高温貯蔵安定性の観点からは、重合体中の重合体ブロック(A)の含有量は、好ましくは15質量%以上35質量%以下であり、より好ましくは20質量%以上30質量%以下である。
重合体ブロック(A)の含有量(質量%)=(ビニル芳香族重合体ブロック成分の質量/重合体の質量)×100
重合体が水添されている場合の、重合体中の重合体ブロック(A)の含有量は、重合体ブロック(A)のベース非水添重合体に対する含有量とほぼ等しいので、本実施形態においては、重合体が水添されている場合の重合体中の重合体ブロック(A)の含有量は、ベース非水添重合体中の重合体ブロック(A)の含有量として求めてもよい。
実施形態の重合体中の、共役ジエン単量体単位とビニル芳香族単量体単位を含む共重合体ブロック(B)に含まれているビニル芳香族単量体単位含有量は、高温貯蔵安定性、軟化点、分散性の観点から、10質量%以上が好ましく、20質量%以上がより好ましく、25質量%以上がさらに好ましい。
また、粘度、分散性の観点から、60質量%未満が好ましく、50質量%以下がより好ましく、40質量%以下がさらに好ましく、35質量%以下がよりさらに好ましく、30質量%以下が一層好ましい。
具体的には、RS(質量%)=(TS-BS)/(100-BS)×100により求めることができる。
本実施形態におけるブロック率は、後述の実施例における重合体中のビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量(スチレン含有量)及び重合体中の重合体ブロック(A)の含有量の値を用いて、下記の式で算出することができる。
ブロック率=重合体中の重合体ブロック(A)の含有量/重合体中のビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量×100(%)
アスファルト組成物の軟化点、伸度、高温貯蔵安定性、分離安定性、耐熱劣化性の観点から、20質量%以上が好ましく、25質量%以上がより好ましく、33質量%以上がさらに好ましく、37質量%以上がよりさらに好ましく、40質量%以上が一層好ましい。また、アスファルト組成物の伸度、耐候性、柔軟性の観点から、60質量%以下が好ましく、50質量%以下がより好ましく、48質量%以下がさらに好ましく、45質量%以下がよりさらに好ましい。
アスファルト組成物の軟化点、伸度等のバランスの観点からは、重合体中のビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量は、より好ましくは25質量%以上55質量%以下であり、さらに好ましくは30質量%以上55質量%以下であり、よりさらに好ましくは30質量%以上50質量%以下である。
なお、重合体が水添されている場合における、重合体に対するビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量は、ベース非水添重合体に対するビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量とほぼ等しいので、重合体が水添されている場合のビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量は、ベース非水添重合体に対するビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量として求めてもよい。
ビニル結合量は、NMRにより測定でき、具体的には後述する実施例記載の方法で求めることができる。
水添重合体のMFRが上記範囲内にあることにより、軟化点等のアスファルト特性が良好で、且つ取り扱い性(低粘度)に優れたアスファルト組成物が得られる傾向にある。アスファルト特性と取り扱い性とのバランスの観点からは、水添重合体のMFR(L)は、より好ましくは0.1以上5以下であり、さらに好ましくは0.2以上2以下である。
上記MFRは、水添重合体を使用し、メルトインデクサー(L247;TECHNOLSEVEN CO.,LTD製)を用い、JIS-K7210に準じた方法により算出することができる。その際、試験温度は230℃、試験荷重は2.16kgfとし、測定値の単位はg/10分間のL条件で測定することができる。
軟化点、高温貯蔵安定性の観点、また、アスファルトに対する重合体の添加量を低減化する観点、並びに重合体及びアスファルト組成物の引張後の回復性の観点から、重合体の重量平均分子量(Mw)は、5万以上が好ましく、13万以上がより好ましく、15万以上がさらに好ましく、16万以上がよりさらに好ましく、17万以上が一層好ましい。また、製造性、アスファルト組成物の溶融粘度、分散性の観点から、32万以下が好ましく、30万以下が好ましく、28万以下がより好ましく、23万以下がさらに好ましく、21万以下がさらにより好ましく、20万未満がさらにより好ましい。
アスファルトに対する重合体の添加量を低減化する観点からは、1.03以上が好ましく、1.05以上がより好ましく、1.11以上がさらに好ましく、1.20以上がよりさらに好ましい。また、製造性やアスファルトに対する重合体の添加量を低減化する観点からは、2.0以下が好ましく、1.7以下がより好ましく、1.4以下がさらに好ましく、1.3以下がよりさらに好ましい。
本実施形態における重合体の重量平均分子量、ピーク分子量及び分子量分布は、後述する実施例記載の方法により求めることができる。
重合体が水添されている場合の重合体の重量平均分子量及び分子量分布は、ベース非水添重合体の重量平均分子量及び分子量分布とほぼ等しいので、重合体が水添されている場合、ベース非水添重合体の重量平均分子量及び分子量分布を求めてもよい。
すなわち、アスファルト組成物の軟化点、高温貯蔵安定性、耐UV性の観点から、重合体中の共役ジエン単量体単位の二重結合の水素添加率は、0mol%以上が好ましく、30mol%以上がより好ましく、50mol%以上がさらに好ましく、70mol%以上がよりさらに好ましい。
また、アスファルト組成物の粘度を下げる観点から、95mol%未満が好ましく、93mol%以下がより好ましく、91mol%以下がさらに好ましく、90mol%以下がよりさらに好ましい。
中でも、重合体の比表面積が0.05~0.40m2/gの際に、水素添加率が50mol%以上95mol%未満であると、分散性がより良好となる傾向にあるため好ましい。水素添加率が50mol%以上90mol%以下であるとより好ましい。
また、アスファルト組成物の粘度を下げる観点からは、前記水素添加率は、99mol%以下が好ましく、97mol%以下がより好ましく、96mol%以下がさらに好ましい。
重合体の水素添加率は、後述する実施例記載の方法で求めることができる。

また、分散性、高い作業性、輸送コストの低減化等の観点から、0.05g/mL以上であり、0.10g/mL以上が好ましく、0.17g/mL以上がより好ましく、0.25g/mL以上がさらに好ましい。また、アスファルトに対する重合体の添加量を低減かする観点、分散性、伸度の観点から、0.45g/mL以下であり、好ましくは0.42g/mL以下であり、より好ましくは0.39g/mL以下であり、0.38g/mL以下がさらに好ましく、0.35g/mL以下がよりさらに好ましく、0.30g/mL以下が一層好ましい。
重合体の嵩密度は、後述する実施例記載の方法で測定できる。
アスファルトに対する重合体の添加量を低減化する観点、アスファルトへの高い溶解性の観点、分散性、伸度の観点から、0.10m2/g以上であり、0.20m2/g以上が好ましく、0.30m2/g以上がより好ましく、0.40m2/g以上がさらに好ましく、0.41m2/g以上がよりさらに好ましい。また、アスファルトに対する重合体の添加量を低減化する観点、アスファルトへの高い溶解性、分散性、伸度、高い作業性、輸送コストの低減化等の観点から、0.60m2/g以下であり、0.55m2/g以下が好ましく、0.52m2/g以下がより好ましく、0.50m2/g以下がさらに好ましく、0.48m2/g以下がよりさらに好ましい。
アスファルト組成物の伸度、分散性の点からは、重合体の比表面積は、好ましくは0.10m2/g以上0.55m2/g以下であり、より好ましくは0.10m2/g以上0.50m2/g以下である。さらに、アスファルト組成物の溶解性の観点からは、0.30m2/g以上0.60m2/g以下であることが好ましく、搬送性の観点からは、0.10m2/g以上0.30m2/g未満であることが好ましい。
重合体の嵩密度は、後述する実施例記載の方法で測定できる。
アスファルトに対する重合体の溶解性の観点から3%以上が好ましく、10質量%以上がより好ましく、30質量%以上がさらに好ましく、50質量%以上がよりさらに好ましく、80%以上が最も好ましい。また、付着性の観点から97質量%以下が好ましく、90質量%以下がより好ましく、特に搬送工程での詰まりや、粉塵爆発等の観点からは80質量%未満が好ましく、60質量%以下がよりさらに好ましく、40質量%以下が最も好ましい。
共役ジエン単量体単位とビニル芳香族単量体単位とを含むベース非水添重合体の製造方法については特に限定はなく、公知の方法を用いることができる。例えば、炭化水素溶媒中で有機アルカリ金属化合物等の重合開始剤を用いてアニオンリビング重合により製造することができる。
炭化水素溶媒の例として、n-ブタン、イソブタン、n-ペンタン、n-ヘキサン、n-ヘプタン、n-オクタンなどの脂肪族炭化水素類;シクロヘキサン、シクロヘプタン、メチルシクロヘプタンなどの脂環式炭化水素類; 及びベンゼン、トルエン、キシレン、エチルベンゼンなどの芳香族炭化水素等が挙げられる。
重合開始剤の例としては、共役ジエン及びビニル芳香族化合物に対してアニオン重合活性を有する脂肪族炭化水素アルカリ金属化合物、芳香族炭化水素アルカリ金属化合物、有機アミノアルカリ金属化合物等が挙げられる。
アルカリ金属の例としては、リチウム、ナトリウム、カリウム等が挙げられる。
具体的には、以下に限定されないが、例えば、トリメチルアミン、トリエチルアミン、トリブチルアミン、N,N-ジメチルアニリン、N-エチルピペリジン、N-メチルピロリジン、N,N,N’,N’-テトラメチルエチレンジアミン、N,N,N’,N’-テトラエチルエチレンジアミン、1,2-ジピペリジノエタン、トリメチルアミノエチルピペラジン、N,N,N’,N”,N”-ペンタメチルエチレントリアミン、N,N’-ジオクチル-p-フェニレンジアミン等が挙げられる。
直鎖状エーテル化合物の具体例としては、以下に限定されないが、ジメチルエーテル、ジエチルエーテル、ジフェニルエーテル;エチレングリコールジメチルエーテル、エチレングリコールジエチルエーテル、エチレングリコールジブチルエーテル等の、エチレングリコールのジアルキルエーテル化合物類;ジエチレングリコールジメチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールジエチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールジブチルエーテル等の、ジエチレングリコールのジアルキルエーテル化合物類が挙げられる。
環状エーテル化合物の具体例としては、以下に限定されないが、テトラヒドロフラン、ジオキサン、2,5-ジメチルオキソラン、2,2,5,5-テトラメチルオキソラン、2,2-ビス(2-オキソラニル)プロパン、フルフリルアルコールのアルキルエーテル等が挙げられる。
2官能性のカップリング剤の例としては、以下に限定されないが、ジメチルジクロロシラン、ジメチルジブロモシラン等のジハロゲン化合物;安息香酸メチル、安息香酸エチル、安息香酸フェニル、フタル酸エステル類等の酸エステル類が挙げられる。3官能以上の多官能カップリング剤の例として、3価以上のポリアルコール類;エポキシ化大豆油、ジグリシジルビスフェノールA等の多価エポキシ化合物;式R4-nSiXn(ただし、各Rはそれぞれ独立して炭素数1から20の炭化水素基を表し、各Xはそれぞれ独立してハロゲン原子を表し、nは3又は4を表す)で表されるハロゲン化珪素化合物、例えばメチルシリルトリクロリド、t-ブチルシリルトリクロリド、四塩化珪素、及びこれらの臭素化物;式R4-nSnXn(ただし、各Rはそれぞれ独立して炭素数1から20の炭化水素基を表し、各Xはそれぞれ独立してハロゲン原子を表し、nは3又は4を表す)で表されるハロゲン化錫化合物、例えばメチル錫トリクロリド、t-ブチル錫トリクロリド、四塩化錫等の多価ハロゲン化合物が挙げられる。また、炭酸ジメチルや炭酸ジエチル、1,3-ビス(N,N’-ジグリシジルアミノメチル)シクロヘキサン等も多官能カップリング剤として使用できる。
ここで短連鎖ビニル芳香族単量体重合部分とは、重合体ブロック(B)中の2~6個のビニル芳香族単量体単位からなる成分である。そして、短連鎖ビニル芳香族単量体重合部分の含有量は、重合体ブロック(B)中のビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量を100質量%とし、その中で2~6個繋がったビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量として求められる。
また、共重合体ブロック(B)中のビニル芳香族単量体単位100質量%に対して、3個繋がったビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量は、アスファルトとの相容性を高める観点から、好ましくは45質量%以上80質量%以下であり、より好ましくは45質量%以上75質量%以下であり、さらに好ましくは45質量%以上65質量%以下である。
中でも、水素添加率が50mol%以上95mol%未満であり、比表面積が0.05m2/g以上0.40m2/g以上である際に、重合体ブロック(B)中の短連鎖ビニル芳香族単量体重合部分の含有量が90%以上であると、分散性がより良好となるため好ましい。さらに、この場合において、水素添加率が50mol%以上90mol%以下であるとより好ましい。
添加回数は増やすと短連鎖ビニル芳香族単量体重合部分の含有量が増加する傾向にあり、2回以上とすることが好ましい。
添加時間は長くすると短連鎖ビニル芳香族単量体重合部分の含有量が増加する傾向にあり、添加回数を一回にする場合は、20分以上80分以下とすることが好ましい。
反応器内の温度は高くすると短連鎖ビニル芳香族単量体重合部分の含有量が増加する傾向にあり、56℃~90℃が好ましい。
添加回数が二回の場合、より詳細には共役ジエン単量体と芳香族ビニル単量体の添加時間(後述にて記載している1回目供給時間は2~7分間、2回目供給時間が10~30分間)と、反応器内温を56~84℃の範囲内で行うことにより、上記範囲内に制御することができる。
ここで、テーパー構造とは、重合体ブロック(B)中のポリマー鎖に沿って、ビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量が漸増する構造を意味する。
重合体ブロック(B)の重合開始直後の重合体ブロック(B)中のビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量をS1、重合途中、例えば導入した単量体の1/2が重合した時点での重合体中のビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量をS2、重合完了後の重合体ブロック(B)中のビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量をS3とした場合、S2/S1>1且つS3/S2>1の関係が成り立つ構造である。
重合体ブロック(B)には、ビニル芳香族単量体単位が均一に分布している部分及び/又はテーパー状に分布している部分がそれぞれ複数個存在していてもよい。また重合体ブロック(B)には、ビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量が異なるセグメントが複数個存在していてもよい。
結晶化ピーク温度及び結晶化ピーク熱量は、示差走査熱量測定装置を用いて測定することができる。
ベース非水添重合体を水添する際に使用する水添触媒としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、従来から公知である(1)Ni、Pt、Pd、Ru等の金属をカーボン、シリカ、アルミナ、ケイソウ土等に担持させた担持型不均一系水添触媒、(2)Ni、Co、Fe、Cr等の有機酸塩又はアセチルアセトン塩などの遷移金属塩と有機アルミニウム等の還元剤とを用いる、いわゆるチーグラー型水添触媒、(3)Ti、Ru、Rh、Zr等の有機金属化合物等のいわゆる有機金属錯体等の均一系水添触媒が用いられる。
具体的な水添触媒としては、以下に限定されないが、特公昭63-4841号公報、特公平1-53851号公報、特公平2-9041号公報に記載された水添触媒を使用することができる。好ましい水添触媒としてはチタノセン化合物及び/又は還元性有機金属化合物との混合物が挙げられる。
還元性有機金属化合物としては、以下に限定されないが、例えば、有機リチウム等の有機アルカリ金属化合物、有機マグネシウム化合物、有機アルミニウム化合物、有機ホウ素化合物あるいは有機亜鉛化合物等が挙げられる。
上記のようにして得られた水添された重合体の溶液は、必要に応じて触媒残査を除去し、水添された重合体を溶液から分離することができる。溶媒の分離の方法としては、以下に限定されないが、例えば、水添後の反応液にアセトン又はアルコール等の水添重合体等に対する貧溶媒となる極性溶媒を加えて重合体を沈澱させて回収する方法、反応液を撹拌下熱湯中に投入し、スチームストリッピングにより溶媒を除去して回収する方法、又は直接重合体溶液を加熱して溶媒を留去する方法等を挙げることができる。本実施形態の重合体には、各種フェノール系安定剤、リン系安定剤、イオウ系安定剤、アミン系安定剤等の安定剤を添加することができる。
重合体の溶液を得た後、必要に応じて触媒残差を除去し、続いて重合体の溶液を、撹拌下熱湯中に投入し、スチームストリッピングにより溶媒を除去することにより、重合体が水中に分散した水性スラリーを得る。
スチームストリッピングにおける処理方法は、特に限定されず、従来知られている方法を採用できる。スチームストリッピングの際、添加剤を使用してもよく、添加剤としては、以下に限定されないが、例えば、アニオン界面活性剤、カチオン界面活性剤、非イオン界面活性剤が一般的に使用される。添加剤は、ストリッピング帯の水に対して一般に0.1ppm以上3000ppm以下添加される。添加剤に加えて、Li、Na、K、Mg、Ca、Al、Zn等の金属の水溶性塩を重合体の分散助剤として用いることもできる。
スチームストリッピング工程により得られる、重合体クラムが水中に分散した水性スラリーは、以下の工程を経て脱水、乾燥処理を施すことにより、本実施形態の重合体を回収することができる。
重合体の回収工程は、以下に限定されないが、例えば、後述する<工程1>脱水処理、<工程2>脱水処理及び乾燥処理、<工程3>乾燥処理を行うことにより実施することができる。なお、<工程2>においては、脱水処理と乾燥処理とをそれぞれ独立した装置により行なってもよく、脱水処理手段と乾燥処理手段とを具備し、これらが連通している構造の、いわゆる一体型の押出式乾燥機を用いて行ってもよい。
水性スラリーを脱水処理し、含水率が60質量%を超え80質量%以下で、目開き3.35mmの篩いを通過しない重合体成分が全重合体の60質量%以上である重合体を得る。<工程1>を経た後の重合体の含水率は、好ましくは62質量%以上80質量%以下であり、より好ましくは65質量%以上75質量%以下である。また、<工程1>を経た後、目開き3.35mmの篩いを通過しない重合体成分が全重合体の70質量%以上であることが好ましく、80質量%以上であることがより好ましい。
かかる<工程1>における脱水処理は、例えば、回転式スクリーン、振動スクリーン、遠心脱水機等により行なうことができる。
得られる重合体の含水率が60質量%を超えると、後述する<工程2>における押出機内での重合体流動性の低下が抑制される傾向にあり、また含水率が80質量%以下とすると、後述する<工程2>における押出機内での、重合体に対する熱負荷が低減される傾向にある。
さらに、目開き3.35mmの篩いを通過しない重合体成分が全重合体の60質量%以上とすることにより、後述する<工程2>における脱水及び乾燥処理を安定して行うことができ、所望の水添重合体の嵩密度、比表面積が効率的に得られる傾向にある。
<工程1>により脱水処理され、所定の含水率となった重合体は、<工程2>において脱水処理及び乾燥処理を行うことにより含水率が3質量%以上30質量%以下の重合体として、後述する<工程3>に移行する。
当該<工程2>を経た後の重合体の含水率は3質量%以上25質量%以下であることが好ましく、3.2質量%以上20質量%以下であることがより好ましい。
前記脱水処理と乾燥処理とを具備し、これらが連通している構造の、いわゆる一体型の押出式乾燥機を用いて行ってもよい。
前記押出式乾燥機は、脱水処理及び乾燥処理を行う装置であり、脱水処理手段と乾燥処理手段とを具備し、脱水処理手段としては押出機(押出機型水搾り機)、乾燥処理手段としてはニーダー型乾燥機、スクリュー型エキスパンダー式乾燥機等が採用される。特に、脱水処理手段として一軸又は二軸等の多軸スクリュー型押出機を具備し、乾燥処理手段としてスクリュー型乾燥機を具備する構成のものが、脱水効率及び作業性の観点で好ましい。
前記乾燥処理を行う装置のダイスの径が2~7mmであることで、所望の水添共重合体の嵩密度、比表面積、クラムサイズが効率的に得られる傾向にある。全クラム量に対する目開き3.35mmの篩を通過し、かつ目開き0.425mmの篩を通過しない成分量(クラムサイズ)を少なくする観点、特に全クラム量に対する目開き3.35mmの篩を通過し、かつ目開き0.425mmの篩を通過しない成分量を80質量%未満、又は比表面積を0.10m2/g以上0.30m2/g未満とする観点から、上記ダイス径は、2mm以上が好ましく、3mm以上がより好ましく、4mm以上がさらに好ましく、6mm以上がよりさらに好ましい。また、同成分量(所望のクラムサイズを有する成分量)を多くする観点から、7mm以下が好ましく、6mm以下がより好ましく、5mm以下がさらに好ましく、4mm以下がよりさらに好ましい。
また、その時の樹脂圧は3~5MPaであることで、所望の水添共重合体の比表面積、クラムサイズが効率的に得られる傾向にある。比表面積とクラムサイズを小さくする観点から、樹脂圧は5MPa以下が好ましく、4.5MPa以下がより好ましく、4.0MPa以下がさらに好ましく、3.5MPa以下がよりさらに好ましい。また、比表面積とクラムサイズを大きくする観点から、樹脂圧は3MPa以上が好ましく、3.5MPa以上がより好ましく、4.0MPa以上がさらに好ましく、4.5MPa以上がよりさらに好ましい。
また、特に重量平均分子量が20万未満の場合、上記のようにダイス系と樹脂圧を制御することにより、重合体の比表面積が0.30m2/g以上0.60m2/g以下となる傾向がある。
<工程2>により重合体の含水率を3質量%以上とすることにより、押出機のせん断力により重合体がゲル化及び/又は分解してしまうことを効果的に防止できる傾向にある。また、上記含水率を30質量%以下とすることにより、後述する<工程3>により得られる重合体の含水率を1質量%以下に制御することが容易となる傾向にある。
脱水処理手段と乾燥処理手段とが一体型となっている、いわゆる2段階構成の押出式乾燥機で処理する場合には、1段目出口の温度を120℃以下とし、かつ、2段目出口の温度を135℃以上175℃以下とすることが好ましい。より好ましくは1段目出口の温度を120℃以下とし、かつ、2段目出口の温度を138℃以上172℃以下とし、さらに好ましくは1段目出口の温度を118℃以下とし、かつ、2段目出口の温度を140℃以上172℃以下とする。
上記温度範囲に設定することにより、脱水処理、乾燥処理を安定して行うことができ、所望の水添重合体の嵩密度、比表面積が効率的に得られる傾向にある。
上記<工程2>で得られた重合体に対して、熱風乾燥機等で乾燥処理を行い、含水率1質量%以下の重合体とする。
すなわち、当該<工程3>を経た後の重合体の含水率は、1質量%以下であることが好ましく、0.95質量%以下であることがより好ましく、0.9質量%以下であることがさらに好ましい。
重合体の含水率、サイズについては、後述する実施例に記載の方法により求めることができる。
前記<工程1>により重合体のサイズ及び含水率を調整し、さらには、<工程1>~<工程3>を通して装置内の出口温度及び出口における重合体の含水率を調整することにより、重合体の流動性が高まり、適度に発泡した(比表面積の大きい)重合体が得られる傾向にある。さらに、装置内での脈流も抑制され、微粉状の重合体や大粒径重合体の少ない、均一な重合体が得られる傾向にある。
このような重合体を得る為には、特に<工程2>に入る前段階の重合体のサイズと含水率を調整し、かつ<工程2>での脱水、乾燥条件を最適化することが有効である。
なお、<工程1>を経た後の重合体の含水率を60質量%超とすることにより、<工程2>での過剰な脱水に起因する流動性の低下を効果的に防止できる傾向にある。一方、含水率を80質量%以下とすることで、重合体サイズが目開き3.35mmの篩いを通過しない重合体成分を十分に確保でき、<工程2>での脱水、乾燥処理をより安定的に行うことができ、結果として良好な流動性が得られる傾向にある。
また、上記した工程により最終的に得られる本実施形態の重合体は、目開き3.35mmの篩いを通過し、かつ、目開き0.425mmの篩いを通過しない成分が、全クラムの80質量%以上であることが好ましい。
本実施形態のアスファルト組成物は、本実施形態の重合体と、アスファルトと、を含む。さらに、本実施形態のアスファルト組成物において、重合体の配合割合は、アスファルト100質量部に対して、0.5質量部以上50質量部以下であり、好ましくは1質量部以上30質量部以下であり、より好ましくは2質量部以上20質量部以下である。上記重合体の配合割合が0.5質量部以上である場合、良好な軟化点と良好なゴム弾性が得られる傾向にあり、50質量部以下である場合、物性と粘度(加工性)のバランスが良好となる傾向にある。
本実施形態で用いることができるアスファルトとしては、例えば、石油精製の際の副産物(石油アスファルト)、又は天然の産出物(天然アスファルト)として得られるもの、もしくはこれらと石油類を混合したもの等が挙げられる。その主成分は瀝青(ビチューメン)と呼ばれるものである。具体的には、ストレートアスファルト、セミブローンアスファルト、ブローンアスファルト、タール、ピッチ、オイルを添加したカットバックアスファルト、アスファルト乳剤等が挙げられる。これらは混合して使用してもよい。
好適なアスファルトとして、針入度(JIS-K2207によって測定)が好ましくは30(1/10mm)以上300(1/10mm)以下であり、より好ましくは40(1/10mm)以上200(1/10mm)以下であり、さらに好ましくは45(1/10mm)以上150(1/10mm)以下であるストレートアスファルトが挙げられる。
耐熱老化性や軟化点を高める観点から、オレフィン系ポリマーと他のポリマーを併用することが好ましい。その中でも少なくともプロピレン単位を有するオレフィン系ポリマーを用いることがより好ましい。その他のポリマーの添加量としては、本実施形態の重合体100質量部に対して、5~40質量部とすることが好ましい。
ここで、「共役ジエン単量体単位を主体とする」とは、重合体ブロック中に共役ジエン単量体単位を、90質量%を超えて含み、好ましくは95質量%以上含むことをいう。上限は特に限定されないが、100質量%以下であることが好ましく、99質量%以下であることが好ましい。
なお、経済性の観点から、重合体の配合割合は、アスファルト100質量部に対して、好ましくは0.5質量部以上20質量部以下、より好ましくは0.5質量部以上15質量部以下である。

本実施形態において、ブロック共重合体(a)は、Xがカップリング剤の残基であるカップリング体と、Xを有しない又はXが重合開始剤の残基である非カップリング体との混合物であってもよい。
また、ブロック共重合体(a)は、スチレン含有量が20~50質量%、ビニル結合量が8~60質量%、ポリスチレン換算の重量平均分子量が10~50万であることが好ましい。
さらに、アスファルト組成物の高軟化点、引っ張り後の高回復性の点から、mが2以上の上記式(v)、(vi)がより好ましい。
官能基に含有される元素としては、特に酸素、窒素、リン、硫黄、スズ、ケイ素が好ましい。
具体的な官能基としては、特に水酸基、酸無水物基、エポキシ基、アミノ基、シラノール基、アルコキシシラン基から選ばれる少なくとも1つであることが好ましい。
なお変性反応により、分岐構造を与える場合は上述のカップリング剤としての機能も果たす。
また、さらに耐流動わだち掘れ性の観点からは、窒素を含む官能基を有することが好ましい。官能基が一分子中に2~4mol%含有することがより好ましい。さらに窒素を含む官能基及び酸素を有する官能基を共に含有することが好ましい。
上記の変性剤の使用量は、特に限定されないが、重合体のリビング末端1当量に対して、0.5~5当量で使用することが好ましい。
また、低粘度と高軟化点のバランスの観点から、官能基を含有するラジアル型の重合体がより好ましい。
これらの中から、1種でもよいし、2種以上を用いてもよい。また、同じ系の中から、2種以上を用いてもよい。
リン系としては、以下に限定されないが、例えば、無水リン酸(P2O5)、ポリリン酸、オキシ三塩化リン(POCl3)、三塩化リン(PCl3)又は五硫化リン(P2S5)等が使用できる。
エポキシ系としては、以下に限定されないが、例えば、エチレン-ノルマルブチルアクリレート-グリシジルメタクリレート(メタクリル酸グリシジル)、ネオペンチルグリコールジグリシジルエーテル、ヘキサンジオールジグリシジルエーテル、トリメチロールプロパンポリグリシジルエーテル、ヘキサヒドロフタル酸ジグリシジルエステル等が使用できる。
樹脂系としては、以下に限定されないが、例えば、アルキルフェノール-ホルムアルデヒド樹脂、ヘキサメトキシメチル-メラミン樹脂等が使用できる。
アミン系としては、以下に限定されないが、例えば、ヘキサメチレンジアミン、トリエチレンテトラミン、テトラエチレンペンタミン、ヘキサメチレンジアミンカルバメート、N,N-ジシンナミリデン-1,6-ヘキサンジアミン、4,4-メチレンビス(シクロヘキシルアミン)カルバメート、4,4-メチレンビス(2-クロロアニリン)等が使用できる。
さらに、アスファルト組成物の骨材への耐付着性、耐流動わだち掘れ性、及び摩耗性を高くする観点から、1,3-ビス(N,N’-ジグリシジルアミノメチル)シクロヘキサンをカップリング剤に用いたラジアル構造の重合体と硫黄-硫黄系化合物、又はポリリン酸の組み合わせが好ましい。
本実施形態のアスファルト組成物は、適宜の骨材と混合することにより道路舗装用のアスファルト混合物とすることができる。混合する温度は、特に限定されないが、90℃~200℃が好ましい。90℃以上とすることで、骨材とアスファルト組成物とがより均一に混合される傾向にあり、200℃以下とすることで、アスファルト組成物の分解或いは架橋を効果的に防止できる傾向にある。本実施形態において、道路舗装用のアスファルト混合物を調製する場合は、一般の舗装用混合物と同様に舗装用混合物製造所で製造することができ、使用する混合撹拌ミキサーとしては、特に限定されず、連続型のものでも、バッチ型のものでもいずれも使用できる。混合方法の例としては、まず、90℃~200℃に加熱された骨材をミキサーに投入し、20秒~30秒空練りした後に、骨材と同じ温度に加熱した本実施形態のアスファルト組成物を投入し、40~60秒間混合するだけで良好なアスファルト混合物を製造することができる。
骨材は、一般に、粗骨材、細骨材、及びフィラーに大別される。粗骨材とは2.36mmふるいに留まる骨材であって、一般には粒径範囲2.5~5mmの7号砕石、粒径範囲5~13mmの6号砕石、粒径範囲13~20mmの5号砕石、更には、粒径範囲20~30mmの4号砕石などの種類があるが、本実施形態においてはこれら種々の粒径範囲の粗骨材の1種又は2種以上を混合した骨材、或いは、合成された骨材などを使用することができる。これらの粗骨材には、当該粗骨材に対して0.3~1質量%程度のストレートアスファルトを被覆しておいてもよい。
また、フィラーとは、0.075mmふるいを通過するものであって、以下に限定されないが、例えば、スクリーニングスのフィラー分、石粉、消石灰、セメント、焼却炉灰、クレー、タルク、フライアッシュ、カーボンブラックなどが挙げられる。これらのほか、ゴム粉粒、コルク粉粒、木質粉粒、樹脂粉粒、繊維粉粒、パルプ、人工骨材等であっても、0.075mmふるいを通過するものであれば、フィラーとして使用することができる。
アスファルト防水シート用組成物を調製する場合において、本実施形態の重合体の添加量としては、高い柔軟性、より低温での耐ひび割れ性、より高温での耐ズレや耐垂れ性、高い疲労屈曲性、耐候性の観点から、道路舗装用のアスファルト組成物よりも多くすることが好ましい。具体的には、アスファルトと重合体の合計100質量%に対して、重合体の割合を5質量%以上とすることが好ましく、7質量%以上がより好ましく、9質量%以上がさらに好ましい。一方、組成物の製造性や経済性の点で、20質量%以下が好ましく、17質量%以下がより好ましく、14質量%以下がさらに好ましい。
アスファルト防水シートを常温で施工する場合であって、低温使用性を高くし、アスファルト防水シート用組成物の粘度を低くし、施工性を高くすることが必要な場合には、針入度が高いアスファルトを用いることが好ましい。上記針入度は後述する実施例に記載の方法により測定できる。針入度が高いアスファルトとしては、具体的には、針入度80以上のアスファルトが好ましく、100以上がより好ましく、130以上がさらに好ましく、160以上がよりさらに好ましい。
アスファルト防水シートをトーチ工法等の高温で施工する場合には、アスファルト防水シート用組成物の粘度が低くなり過ぎないように、常温で施工される場合よりも、低い針入度を有するアスファルトを用いることが好ましい。この場合のアスファルトの針入度としては、具体的には、30(1/10mm)以上150(1/10mm)以下が好ましく、60(1/10mm)以上120(1/10mm)以下がより好ましく、80以上100以下がさらに好ましい。
また、必要に応じて無機充填剤を使用してもよい。
実施例及び比較例における重合体及びアスファルト組成物に関する測定方法は、以下のとおりである。
一定量の重合体をクロロホルムに溶解し、紫外分光光度計(島津製作所製、UV-2450)にて測定し、ビニル芳香族化合物(スチレン)に起因する吸収波長(262nm)のピーク強度から検量線を用いてビニル芳香族単量体単位(スチレン)の含有量を算出した。
水添前の重合体を使用し、I.M.Kolthoff,etal.,J.Polym.Sci.1,p.429(1946)に記載の四酸化オスミウム酸法で測定した。重合体の分解にはオスミウム酸0.1g/125mL第3級ブタノール溶液を用いた。
重合体中のビニル結合量、及び共役ジエン単量体単位中の二重結合の水素添加率を、核磁気共鳴スペクトル解析(NMR)により、下記の条件で測定した。
ビニル結合量、水素添加率は、いずれも、水添反応後の重合体サンプルを用いて測定した。また、水添反応後の反応液に、大量のメタノール中に沈殿させることで、水添後の重合体を沈殿させて回収した。
次いで、水添後の重合体をアセトンで抽出し、抽出液を真空乾燥し、1H-NMR測定のサンプルとして用いた。

ウォーターズ製の測定装置を使用し、ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィ(GPC)で測定を行った。溶媒にはテトラヒドロフランを用い、測定温度は35℃とした。すなわち、クロマトグラムのピークの分子量を、市販の標準ポリスチレンの測定から求めた検量線(標準ポリスチレンのピーク分子量を使用して作成)を使用してピーク分子量、重量平均分子量(ポリスチレン換算分子量)、数平均分子量を求めた。さらに、重量平均分子量と数平均分子量の比から分子量分布を求めた。
含水率1%以下の重合体20gを250mLのメスシリンダーに詰め、メスシリンダーを3cmの高さから5回自然落下させ、その際の重合体の容積を測定し、嵩密度を算出した。例えば、重合体の容積が100mLの場合の嵩密度は0.2g/mLであるものとして算出した。
比表面積は、窒素吸着法(装置名:日本BEL社製、BELSORP-mini)を用いてBET多点法により算出した。
重合体のジクロロメタン溶液にO3濃度1.5%の酸素を150mL/分で通過させて酸化分解し、得られたオゾニドを、水素化アルミニウムリチウムを混合したジエチルエーテル中に滴下して還元した。つぎに、純水を滴下して加水分解し、炭酸カリウムを添加し塩析、濾過を行うことによりビニル芳香族炭化水素成分を得た。このビニル芳香族炭化水素成分をGPCにより測定した。ここで得られたピークの面積比(短連鎖ビニル芳香族単量体重合部分に相当するピーク面積/ピークの総面積)を算出することにより重合体中の短連鎖ビニル芳香族単量体重合部分の含有量が得られた。なお、オゾン発生機は日本オゾン(株)製OT-31R-2型を用い、GPC測定は、ウォーターズ製の2487を用い、クロロホルムを溶媒とし、流量1.0mL/分、カラムオーブン35℃で、カラムはShodexカラム-K803Lを2本接続して測定を行った。
ハロゲン水分計にて150℃で8分間加熱し、その質量減少量を求め、下記式により算出した。
含水率(質量%)=前後における質量減少量(クラム中の含水量)/加熱前のクラムの質量×100
ふるい振とう機(セイシン企業社製オクタゴンデジタル)を用い、目開き0.425mmの篩の上に目開き3.35mmの篩を重ね、目開き3.35mmの篩の上からクラムを投入して15分間振動させ、各篩上に残ったクラム量、及び通過したクラム量を測定し、目開き3.35mmの篩を通過しないクラムの割合(質量%)及びクラムサイズが0.425~3.35mmであるクラムの割合(質量%)を算出した。なお、クラムサイズが0.425~3.35mmであるクラムの割合(質量%)を「粒度」として表1に示す。
窒素置換した反応容器に乾燥、精製したシクロヘキサン2Lを仕込み、ビス(η5-シクロペンタジエニル)チタニウムジ-(p-トリル)40mmolと分子量が約1,000の1,2-ポリブタジエン(1,2-ビニル結合量約85%)150グラムを溶解した後、n-ブチルリチウム60mmolを含むシクロヘキサン溶液を添加して室温で5分反応させ、直ちにn-ブタノール40mmolを添加攪拌して室温で保存した。
内容積が10Lの攪拌装置及びジャケット付き槽型反応器を用いて、重合を以下の方法で行った。
シクロヘキサン10質量部を反応器に仕込んで温度70℃に調整した後、n-ブチルリチウムを全モノマー( 反応器に投入したブタジエンモノマー及びスチレンモノマーの総量)の質量に対して0.125質量%、N,N,N’,N’-テトラメチルエチレンジアミン(以下TMEDAと称する)をn-ブチルリチウム1モルに対して0.4モル添加し、その後モノマーとしてスチレン11質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度22質量%)を約3分間かけて添加し、反応器内温を約70℃に調整しながら30分間反応させた。
その後、ブタジエン38質量を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度22質量%)を20分間かけて一定速度で連続的に反応器に供給(以下、2回目供給と表す)し、その後30分間反応させた。この間、反応器内温は約70℃になるように調整した。
その後、更にモノマーとしてスチレン11質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度22質量%)を約3分間かけて添加し、反応器内温を約70℃に調整しながら30分間反応させ、重合体を得た。
2段目に供給するブタジエンを58質量部(1回目供給が19質量部、2回目供給が39質量部)、スチレンを20質量部、に変えること以外は、重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行った。
次に、得られた重合体に、上記水添触媒を重合体の質量に対してチタンとして100ppm添加する以外は、重合体1と同様に水添反応を行い、水添重合体(水素添加率93%)とした後に、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体2を得た。
n-ブチルリチウムの供給量を0.135質量%、TMEDAを0.3モル添加とし、1段目に供給するスチレンを19質量部に、2段目に供給するブタジエンを45質量部(1回目供給が15質量部、2回目供給が30質量部)、スチレンを18質量部に、1回目供給の添加時間を5分間に、2回目供給の添加時間を15分間に、反応器内温を75℃に、また3段目に供給するスチレンを18質量部に変えること以外は、重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行った。
次に、得られた重合体に、上記水添触媒を重合体の質量に対してチタンとして85ppm添加する以外は、重合体1と同様に水添反応を行い、水添重合体(水素添加率68%)とした後に、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体3を得た。
n-ブチルリチウムの供給量を0.13質量%、TMEDAを0.2モル添加とし、1段目に供給するスチレンを13質量部に、2段目に供給するブタジエンを54質量部(1回目供給が18質量部、2回目供給が36質量部)、スチレンを20質量部に、1回目供給の添加時間を10分間に、2回目供給の添加時間を15分間に、反応器内温を65℃に、また3段目に供給するスチレンを13質量部に変えること以外は、重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行った。
次に、得られた重合体に、上記水添触媒を重合体の質量に対してチタンとして85ppm添加する以外は、重合体1と同様に水添反応を行い、水添重合体(水素添加率72%)とした後に、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体4を得た。
重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行い、重合体を得た。
水添反応は行わず(水素添加率0%)、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体5を得た。
1段目に供給するスチレンを21質量部に、2段目に供給するブタジエンを52質量部(1回目供給が17質量部、2回目供給が35質量部)、1回目供給の添加時間を5分間に、2回目供給の添加時間を25分間に、スチレンを6質量部に、反応器内温を65℃に、また3段目に供給するスチレンを21質量部に変えること以外は、重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行った。
次に、得られた重合体に上記水添触媒を重合体の質量に対してチタンとして100ppm添加する以外は、重合体1と同様に水添反応を行い、水添重合体(水素添加率96%)とした後に、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体6を得た。
n-ブチルリチウムの供給量を0.135質量%、TMEDAを0.35モル添加とし、1段目に供給するスチレンを12質量部に、2段目に供給するブタジエンを60質量部(1回目供給が20質量部、2回目供給が40質量部)、1回目供給の添加時間を5分間に、2回目供給の添加時間を15分間に、スチレンを17質量部に、反応器内温を70℃に、また3段目に供給するスチレンを11質量部に変えること以外は、重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行った。
次に、得られた重合体に、重合体1と同様に水添反応を行い、水添重合体(水素添加率80%)とした後に、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体7を得た。
TMEDAを0.2モル添加とし、1段目に供給するスチレンを13質量部に、2段目に供給するブタジエンを50質量部(1回目供給が16質量部、2回目供給が34質量部)、1回目供給の添加時間を4分間に、2回目供給の添加時間を40分間に、スチレンを25質量部に、また3段目に供給するスチレンを12質量部に変えること以外は、重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行った。
次に、得られた重合体に、重合体1と同様に水添反応を行い、水添重合体(水素添加率84%)とした後に、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体8を得た。
n-ブチルリチウムの供給量を0.13質量%、TMEDAは添加せず、1段目に供給するスチレンを18質量部に、2段目に供給するブタジエンを65質量部、スチレンは添加せずに、また3段目に供給するスチレンを17質量部に変えること以外は、重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行った。
水添反応は行わず(水素添加率0%)、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体9を得た。
n-ブチルリチウムの供給量を0.115質量%、1段目に供給するスチレンを12質量部に、2段目に供給するブタジエンを54質量部(1回目供給が18質量部、2回目供給が36質量部)、スチレンを23質量部に、また3段目に供給するスチレンを11質量部に変えること以外は、重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行った。
次に、得られた重合体に、上記水添触媒を重合体の質量に対してチタンとして100ppm添加する以外は、重合体1と同様に水添反応を行い、水添重合体(水素添加率90%)とした後に、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体10を得た。
n-ブチルリチウムを全モノマー( 反応器に投入したブタジエンモノマー及びスチレンモノマーの総量)の質量に対して0.120質量%、1段目に供給するスチレンを21質量部に、2段目に供給するブタジエンを52質量部(1回目供給が17質量部、2回目供給が35質量部)、1回目供給の添加時間を5分間に、2回目供給の添加時間を25分間に、スチレンを6質量部に、反応器内温を65℃に、また3段目に供給するスチレンを20質量部に変えること以外は、重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行った。
次に、得られた重合体に上記水添触媒を重合体の質量に対してチタンとして100ppm添加する以外は、重合体1と同様に水添反応を行い、水添重合体(水素添加率96%)とした後に、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体11を得た。
2段目に供給するブタジエンを59質量部(1回目供給が20質量部、2回目供給が39質量部)、スチレンを20質量部に、また3段目に供給するスチレンを10質量部に変えること以外は、重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行った。
その後、1,3-ジメチル-2-イミダゾリジノンをn-ブチルリチウム1molに対して0.95molとなるように添加し、25分間反応させた。
次に、重合体1と同様に水添反応を行い、水添重合体(水素添加率85%)とした後に、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体12を得た。
n-ブチルリチウムを全モノマー( 反応器に投入したブタジエンモノマー及びスチレンモノマーの総量)の質量に対して0.105質量%、2段目に供給するブタジエンを58質量部(1回目供給が20質量部、2回目供給が38質量部)、スチレンを21質量部に、また3段目に供給するスチレンを10質量部に変えること以外は、重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行った。
次に、得られた重合体に、上記水添触媒を重合体の質量に対してチタンとして80ppm添加する以外は、重合体1と同様に水添反応を行い、水添重合体(水素添加率65%)とした後に、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体13を得た。
n-ブチルリチウムを全モノマー( 反応器に投入したブタジエンモノマー及びスチレンモノマーの総量)の質量に対して0.115質量%、2段目に供給するブタジエンを58質量部(1回目供給が19質量部、2回目供給が39質量部)、スチレンを20質量部、に変えること以外は、重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行った。
次に、得られた重合体に、上記水添触媒を重合体の質量に対してチタンとして100ppm添加する以外は、重合体1と同様に水添反応を行い、水添重合体(水素添加率91%)とした後に、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体14を得た。
n-ブチルリチウムを全モノマー( 反応器に投入したブタジエンモノマー及びスチレンモノマーの総量)の質量に対して0.120質量%、2段目に供給するブタジエンを59質量部(1回目供給が20質量部、2回目供給が39質量部)、スチレンを21質量部、に変えること以外は、重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行った。
次に、得られた重合体に、上記水添触媒を重合体の質量に対してチタンとして100ppm添加する以外は、重合体1と同様に水添反応を行い、水添重合体(水素添加率90%)とした後に、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体15を得た。
n-ブチルリチウムを全モノマー( 反応器に投入したブタジエンモノマー及びスチレンモノマーの総量)の質量に対して0.090質量%、2段目に供給するブタジエンを59質量部(1回目供給が20質量部、2回目供給が39質量部)、スチレンを21質量部、に変えること以外は、重合体1と同様の方法により重合を行った。
次に、得られた重合体に、上記水添触媒を重合体の質量に対してチタンとして100ppm添加する以外は、重合体1と同様に水添反応を行い、水添重合体(水素添加率94%)とした後に、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体16を得た。
ジャケット付き槽型反応器を用いて、所定量のシクロヘキサンを反応器に仕込んで、反応器内を温度60℃に調整した。
その後、n-ブチルリチウムを、全モノマー(反応器に投入するブタジエンモノマー及びスチレンモノマーの総量)の100質量部に対して、0.095質量部となるように反応器の底部から添加した。
さらに、N,N,N’,N’-テトラメチルエチレンジアミンのシクロヘキサン溶液を、n-ブチルリチウム1molに対して0.35molとなるように添加した。
その後、モノマーとして、1ステップ目の重合反応として、スチレン10質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度15質量%)を約10分間で供給し、反応器内温度を65℃に調整した。供給停止後、15分間反応させた。
次に、3ステップ目の重合反応として、スチレン10質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度15質量%)を約10分間で供給し、反応器内温度を65℃に調整した。供給停止後、15分間反応させた。
次に、得られた重合体に、上記水添触媒を重合体の質量に対してチタンとして100ppm添加し、水素圧0.7MPa、温度65℃で水添反応を行った。
反応終了後にメタノール水溶液を添加し、次に安定剤としてオクタデシル-3-(3,5-ジ-t-ブチル-4-ヒドロキシフェニル)プロピオネートを重合体の質量に対して0.1質量%添加した。このようにして得られた水添重合体に対し、表2に記載する工程にしたがって嵩密度及び比表面積を調整して、重合体17,24,25をそれぞれ得た。
前記2ステップ目の重合反応において、ブタジエン60質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度20質量%)とスチレン20質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度20質量%)を、15分毎に3回に分けて供給した。
その他の条件は、重合体17と同様に重合及び水添を行い、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体18を得た。
前記2ステップ目の重合反応において、ブタジエン59質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度25質量%)とスチレン21質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度25量%)を、初期に1度に全量添加した。その他の条件は、重合体17と同様に重合及び水添を行い、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体19を得た。
n-ブチルリチウムを、全モノマー(反応器に投入するブタジエンモノマー及びスチレンモノマーの総量)の100質量部に対して、0.070質量部となるように反応器の底部から添加し、重合温度を55℃とし、前記2ステップ目の重合反応において、ブタジエン52質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度15質量%)とスチレン28質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度15質量%)を80分間、一定速度で連続的に反応器に供給した。その他の条件は、重合体17と同様に重合及び水添を行い、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体20を得た。
重合温度を60℃とし、1ステップ目と3ステップ目の重合反応において、スチレン量をそれぞれ11質量部と11質量部とし、2ステップ目の重合反応において、ブタジエン57質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度15質量%)とスチレン21質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度15質量%)を60分間、一定速度で連続的に反応器に供給した。その他の条件は、重合体17と同様に重合を行い、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体21,22を得た。
なお、重合体21のみ重合体17と同様に水添を行い、重合体22は水添を行わなかった。
n-ブチルリチウムを、全モノマー(反応器に投入するブタジエンモノマー及びスチレンモノマーの総量)100質量部に対して、0.11質量部になるように添加した。
また、2ステップ目の重合反応において、ブタジエン60質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度15質量%)とスチレン20質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度15質量%)を60分間、一定速度で連続的に反応器に供給した。その他の条件は、重合体17と同様に重合及び水添を行い、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体23を得た。
2ステップ目の重合反応において、ブタジエン60質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度20質量%)とスチレン21質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度20質量%)を、15分毎に3回に分けて供給した。次に、3ステップ目の重合反応として、スチレン9質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度15質量%)を約10分間で供給し、反応器内温度を65℃に調整した。供給停止後、15分間反応させた。その後、1,3-ジメチル-2-イミダゾリジノンをn-ブチルリチウム1molに対して0.95molとなるように添加し、25分間反応させた。
その他の条件は、重合体17と同様に重合及び水添を行い、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体26を得た。
n-ブチルリチウムを、全モノマー(反応器に投入するブタジエンモノマー及びスチレンモノマーの総量)100質量部に対して、0.060質量部になるように添加した。重合温度を60℃とし、1ステップ目と3ステップ目の重合反応において、スチレン量をそれぞれ10質量部と10質量部とし、2ステップ目の重合反応において、ブタジエン58質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度15質量%)とスチレン22質量部を含有するシクロヘキサン溶液(モノマー濃度15質量%)を60分間、一定速度で連続的に反応器に供給した。その他の条件は、重合体17と同様に重合を行い、重合体を製造した。その他の条件は重合体17と同様に重合及び水添を行い、表2に記載する工程により嵩密度と比表面積の調整を行って、重合体27を得た。
なお、工程3を経た後の重合体1~27の含水率が、1質量%以下であることを確認した。
実施例及び比較例において、下記の要領でアスファルト組成物を製造した。750mLの金属缶にストレートアスファルト60-80(新日本石油(株)製)を500g投入し、180℃のオイルバスに金属缶を充分に浸した。次に、溶融状態のアスファルト100質量部に対し、表5~6に示す重合体3.5質量部を攪拌しながら少量ずつ添加した。完全に添加した後、6000rpmの回転速度で90分間攪拌して実施例1~6,11~18,22~25及び比較例1~8のアスファルト組成物を調製した。また、表7に示す重合体8質量部を使用したこと以外は上記と同様にして実施例26~30及び比較例9~11のアスファルト組成物を調製した。
実施例7,19:Kraton D1184(ラジアル型ポリマーであり、スチレン含有量が30%、ジブロック含有量が14.5%、ポリスチレン換算で重量平均分子量が40万であるSBS)
実施例8~9,20~21:Kraton D1101(直鎖型ポリマーであり、スチレン含有量が31%、ジブロック含有量が17.0%、ポリスチレン換算で重量平均分子量が18万であるSBS)
実施例1~25、比較例1~8で得たアスファルト組成物と骨材とを、実験用の容量27リットルの加熱装置装備混合機を用いて混合物総量10kgを混合し、密粒度型の混合物として道路舗装用のアスファルト混合物を得た。すなわち、骨材として6号砕石/7号砕石/砂砕/細目砂/石粉の配合比36/19/27/12/6(%)のものを用い、アスファルト組成物5.5質量部、骨材94.5質量部で混合した。なお、使用した骨材は、栃木県下都賀郡岩舟町の砕石、砕砂、千葉県印旛郡栄町の細砂及び栃木県佐野市山菅町の石粉であった。アスファルト混合物に使用した骨材の粒度分布を以下の表4に示す。
アスファルト組成物又はアスファルト混合物の各物性を以下の方法により測定した。それらの結果を表5~7に示す。また、表7においては、重合体1~27の耐候性及び付着性の評価結果を併せて示す。
JIS-K2207に準じて、アスファルト組成物の軟化点を測定した。規定の環に試料を充填し、グリセリン液中に水平に支え、試料の中央に3.5gの球を置き、液温を5℃/minの速度で昇温した場合の、球の重さで試料が環台の底板に触れた時点の温度を測定した。
160℃でブルックフィールド型粘度計により測定した。
JIS-K2207に準じ、恒温水浴槽で25℃に保った試料に規定の針が5秒間に進入する長さを測定した。
JIS-K2207に準じ、試料を形枠に流し込み、規定の形状にした後、恒温水浴内で15℃に保ち、次に試料を5cm/minの速度で引っ張ったとき、試料が切れるまでに伸びた距離を測定した。
調整直後のアスファルト組成物中の重合体の平均粒子径を測定した。測定方法としてデジタルマイクロスコープによる透過光を用いて観察した。なお測定装置として、KEYENCE社製 デジタルマイクロスコープ VHX-2000を使用した。また、測定条件は以下のとおりとした:
測定温度:25℃
倍率: 1000倍
測定モード: 透過光
サンプル調整方法:撹拌後のアスファルト組成物10mgをスライドガラス上に採取し、180℃に熱したホットプレート上で20秒静置させて溶融させた。その後、カバーガラスを溶融したアスファルト組成物に載せて薄く延ばした。これを室温で30分放置した後、デジタルマイクロスコープで観察を実施した。なお、平均粒子径(分散粒子径)が小さいほど、短時間でアスファルトと相溶して性能が発現する為、良好であるものと評価した。
アスファルト組成物製造直後、内径50mm、高さ130mmのアルミ缶に、アスファルト組成物をアルミ缶の上限まで流し込み、180℃のオーブン中で、24時間加熱した。その後、アルミ缶を取り出し自然冷却させた。次に室温まで下がったアスファルト組成物の下端から4cm、上端から4cmを採取し、それぞれ上層部と下層部の軟化点を測定し、その軟化点差を高温貯蔵安定性の尺度とした。軟化点差が小さいほど、高温貯蔵安定性は良好であるものと評価した。
JIS-K2207に準じて、上記方法で製造した重合体1~27を3.5質量部含有するアスファルト組成物(実施例7~9,19~21においては、重合体1又は重合体17とSBSとの混合物としての含有量が3.5質量部となるアスファルト組成物)の伸度を測定した。
定型のアスファルト試料を5℃の水中で、5℃/minの速度で引っ張り、試料が破断するまでの長さ(cm)を測定した。
低温伸度の値が大きい方が低温性能に優れるものと判断し、良好である順から○、△、×と評価した。

上記<アスファルト混合物の調整>の方法のとおりに得られた密粒度型のアスファルト混合物を用いて、試験法便覧B003に準じて動的安定度の評価を実施した。所定の寸法の供試体上を載荷した小型のゴム車輪を規定温度、規定時間、規定速度で繰り返し往復走行させ、単位時間あたりの変形量から動的安定度(回/mm)を求めた。
値が大きい方が耐流動わだち掘れ性に優れるものと判断し、良好である順から◎、○、△、×と評価した。

JIS-K2207に準じて、アスファルト組成物の軟化点を測定した。
規定の環に試料を充填し、グリセリン液中に水平に支え、試料の中央に3.5gの球を置き、液温を5℃/minの速度で上昇させたとき、球の重さで試料が環台の底板に触れた時の温度を測定した。
軟化点が60℃となる重合体の添加量を測定した。当該重合体の添加量が少ないほど効果が高く、経済性の観点からも良好であるものと判断し、良好である順から◎、○、△、×と評価した。
2.5質量%未満 : ◎

3.3質量%以上 : ×
上記方法で製造した重合体1~27を3.5質量部含有するアスファルト組成物(実施例7~9、19~21においては、重合体1又は重合体17とSBSとの混合物としての含有量が3.5質量%となるアスファルト組成物)を190℃で貯蔵し、所定時間経過後にサンプリングし、重合体の分子量分布の変化をGPCで解析した。
重合体が熱により劣化すると、GPCで得られる重合体のピーク高さが低くなることから、貯蔵前の重合体のピーク高さの変化が少ない方が耐熱劣化性が高く良好であると判断した。すなわち、ピーク高さの変化が30%以上となる日数で評価し、良好である順から○、△、×と評価した。

太陽光の代わりに、模擬的にキセノンランプ(放射照度60W/m2、スガ試験機株式会社製、SX75)を用いて紫外線を照射し、重合体1~27の耐候性を評価した。
評価を迅速にするため、10トンプレスを用いて、重合体1~27の単体を200℃で5分余熱し、その後2分間プレスさせて厚さ2mmのシートを成形し、サンプルとして用いた。
紫外線照射により、GPCで得られる重合体のピーク高さが低くなったことが確認された。紫外線照射前の重合体のピーク高さに対する変化が少ない方が耐候性が高く、良好であると判断した。すなわち、GPCで得られる重合体のピーク高さの変化が30%以上となる紫外線照射時間で判断し、良好である順から○、△、×と評価した。

上記方法で製造した重合体1~27を、以下の方法で測定した。
まず、縦15cm×横10cmの金属板(SUS板)上の片側の端に重合体10gを載せ、傾斜角45度で傾けて重合体をもう片側の端から落下させた。その際の金属板上に付着した重合体の量を目視で判定した。重合体の付着量が小さいほど、搬送工程における作業性がよいものと判断し、良好である順から◎、○、△、×と評価した。

Claims (15)
- 共役ジエン単量体単位とビニル芳香族単量体単位とを含む重合体であって、
前記重合体が、ビニル芳香族単量体単位を主体とする重合体ブロック(A)、及び共役ジエン単量体単位とビニル芳香族単量体単位を含む重合体ブロック(B)を有し、
前記重合体ブロック(A)の含有量が10質量%以上40質量%以下であり、
前記重合体の嵩密度が0.05g/mL以上0.45g/mL以下であり、
前記重合体の比表面積が0.10m2/g以上0.60m2/g以下である、重合体。 - 前記共役ジエン単量体単位中の二重結合の水素添加率が95mol%以上である、請求項1に記載の重合体。
- 前記共役ジエン単量体単位中の二重結合の水素添加率が0mol%以上50mol%未満である、請求項1に記載の重合体。
- 前記共役ジエン単量体単位中の二重結合の水素添加率が50mol%以上95mol%未満である、請求項1に記載の重合体。
- 前記比表面積が0.30m2/g以上0.60m2/g以下である、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の重合体。
- 前記比表面積が0.10m2/g以上0.30m2/g未満である、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の重合体。
- 目開き3.35mmの篩を通過し、かつ、目開き0.425mmの篩を通過しない成分が、全クラムの80質量%未満である、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の重合体。
- ピーク分子量が20万未満である、請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載の重合体。
- 前記ビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量が20質量%以上60質量%以下である、請求項1~8のいずれか一項に記載の重合体。
- 前記重合体ブロック(B)中の、ビニル芳香族単量体単位の含有量100質量%に対して、2~6個のビニル芳香族単量体単位からなる短連鎖ビニル芳香族単量体重合部分の含有量が50質量%以上である、請求項1~9のいずれか一項に記載の重合体。
- 前記短連鎖ビニル芳香族単量体重合部分の含有量が70質量%以上である、請求項10に記載の重合体。
- 官能基を有する、請求項1~11のいずれか一項に記載の重合体。
- 請求項1~12のいずれか一項に記載の重合体0.5質量部以上50質量部以下と、アスファルト100質量部とを含む、アスファルト組成物。
- 請求項1~12のいずれか一項に記載の重合体と、ブロック共重合体(a)とを含む混合物と、
アスファルトと、
を含有し、
前記ブロック共重合体(a)が、少なくとも一つのビニル芳香族単量体単位を主体とする重合体ブロック(A’)、及び少なくとも一つの共役ジエン単量体単位を主体とする重合体ブロック(C)を有し、
前記混合物の含有量が、前記アスファルト100質量部に対して0.5質量部以上50質量部以下であり、
前記混合物中におけるブロック共重合体(a)の含有量が15~85質量%である、アスファルト組成物。 - 硫黄もしくは硫黄系化合物0.03質量部以上3質量部以下をさらに含む、請求項13又は14に記載のアスファルト組成物。
