Description

유기전계발광소자
본 발명은 유기전계발광소자에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는, 투과율과 유연성이 개선된 유기전계발광소자에 관한 것이다.
일반적으로 유기전계발광소자(organic light emitting diode: OLED)는 기판, 기판 상에 적층되는 하부전극, 하부전극 상에 적층되는 유기물층 및 유기물층 상에 적층되는 상부전극을 포함한다. 이러한 유기전계발광소자는 하부전극 (anode)과 상부전극 (cathode) 사이의 통전에 의해 발광한다. 즉, 유기전계발광소자의 발광은 상부전극의 전자 및 하부전극의 정공에 의해 상부전극과 하부전극 사이에 개재된 유기물층에서 일어나는 것이다.
여기서, 유기전계발광소자는 발광 방식에 따라 상부전극 및 하부전극을 통해 발광하는 양면발광 유기전계발광소자(transparent OLED), 상부전극을 통해 발광하는 전면발광 유기전계발광소자(top OLED) 및 하부전극을 통해 발광하는 배면발광 유기전계발광소자(bottom OLED)로 구분된다.
유기전계발광소자의 발광 방식은 상부전극 및 하부전극 중 투과성을 갖는 전극을 통해 이루어진다. 양면발광 방식의 경우 상부전극 및 하부전극이 모두 투과성을 가지고 있어야 한다. 일반적으로 상부전극은 투과성이 있는 금속 박막을 사용하며, 이러한 금속 박막의 두께를 감소시킬 경우 투과율이 증가된다. 그런데, 상부전극의 투과율을 증가하기 위한 상부전극의 두께 감소는 상부전극의 면저항의 증가를 가져오는 문제점이 있다.
일반적으로 폴리이미드(PI) 필름은 폴리이미드 수지를 필름화한 것으로, 폴리이미드 수지는 방향족 디안하이드라이드와 방향족 디아민 또는 방향족 디이소시아네이트를 용액 중합하여 폴리아믹산 유도체를 제조한 후, 고온에서 폐환 탈수시켜 이미드화하여 제조되는 고내열 수지를 일컫는다. 이와 같은 폴리이미드 필름은 뛰어난 기계적, 내열성, 전기절연성을 가지고 있기 때문에 반도체의 절연막, TFT-LCD의 전극 보호막 플랙시블 인쇄 배선 회로용 기판 등의 전자재료에 광범위한 분야에서 사용되고 있다.
그러나 폴리이미드 수지는 높은 방향족 고리 밀도로 인하여 갈색 및 황색으로 착색되어 있어 가시광선 영역에서의 투과도가 낮고 노란색 계열의 색을 나타내어 광투과율을 낮게 하며 큰 복굴절률을 가지게 하여 광학부재로 사용하기에는 곤란한 점이 있다. 이러한 점을 해결하기 위하여 단량체 및 용매를 정제하여 중합하는 방법이 시도되었으나, 투과율의 개선점은 크지 않았다.
미국특허 제5053480호에는 방향족 디안하이드라이드 대신 지방족 고리계 디안하이드라이드 성분을 사용하는 방법이 기재되어 있는데, 정제방법에 비해서는 용액상이나 필름화하였을 경우 투명도 및 색상의 개선이 있었으나, 역시 투과도의 개선에 한계가 있어 높은 투과도는 만족하지 못하였으며, 또한 열 및 기계적 특성의 저하를 가져오는 결과를 나타내었다.
또한, 미국특허 제4595548호, 제4603061호, 제4645824, 제4895972호, 제5218083호, 제5093453호, 제5218077호, 제5367046호, 제5338826호. 제5986036호, 제6232428호 및 대한민국 특허공개공보 제2003-0009437호에는 -O-, -SO2-, CH2- 등의 연결기와 p-위치가 아닌 m-위치로의 연결된 굽은 구조의 단량체이거나 -CF3 등의 치환기를 갖는 방향족 디안하이드라이드 이무수물과 방향족 디아민 단량체를 사용하여 열적 특성이 크게 저하되지 않는 한도에서 투과도 및 색상의 투명도를 향상시킨 신규 구조의 폴리이미드를 제조한 보고가 있으나, 기계적 특성, 내열성, 복굴절 측면에서 OLED, TFT-LCD, 플렉시블 디스플레이 등의 표시소자 소재로 사용하기에는 부족한 결과를 보였다.
본 발명은 투과율 및 유연성이 향상된 유기전계발광소자를 제공하고자 한다.
이에 본 발명은 바람직한 제 1 구현예로서, 폴리이미드 필름 및 상기 폴리이미드 필름의 적어도 일면에 형성된 실리콘 산화물 함유 배리어층을 포함하는 폴리이미드 기판; 상기 폴리이미드 기판 상에 형성되는 제1전극; 상기 제1전극 상에 형성되는 유기물층; 상기 유기물층 상에 형성되는 제2전극; 및 상기 제2전극의 상면 및 하면 중 적어도 일면에 형성되는 투광층을 포함하는 유기전계발광소자를 제공한다.
본 발명은 또한 바람직한 제 2 구현예로서, 폴리이미드 필름 및 상기 폴리이미드 필름의 적어도 일면에 형성된 실리콘 산화물 함유 배리어층을 포함하는 폴리이미드 기판; 상기 폴리이미드 기판 상에 형성되는 제1전극; 상기 제1전극 상에 형성되는 유기물층; 상기 유기물층 상에 형성되는 제2전극; 상기 제2전극 상에 형성되는 제3 전극; 및 상기 제2전극의 하면 및 제3 전극의 상면 중 적어도 일면에 형성되는 투광층을 포함하는 유기전계발광소자를 제공한다.
상기 구현예에서 폴리이미드 필름은 필름 두께 10 내지 100㎛를 기준으로 UV분광광도계로 측정된 350 내지 700nm에서의 평균 투과도가 85% 이상이고, 황색도가 15 이하이며, TMA(Time to Delamination)-Method에 따라 50 내지 250℃에서 측정한 평균 선팽창계수가 50.0ppm/℃이하인 것일 수 있다.
또한, 상기 구현예에 의한 실리콘 산화물은 하기 화학식 1로 표시되는 단위구조를 포함하는 일 수 있다.

여기서, R1과 R2는 각각 독립적으로 수소원자, 할로겐원자, 할로겐원자로 치환되거나 되지 않은 탄소수 1 내지 10의 알킬(alkyl)기 또는 할로겐원자로 치환되거나 되지 않은 탄소수 1 내지 10의 아릴(aryl)기 중 선택된 1종이다.

본 발명에 있어서, 폴리이미드 기판은 유기물층에서 발광되는 빛이 투과할 수 있도록 투과성을 가지고 있는 투명 고분자 필름을 포함할 수 있고, 바람직하게는 투명한 폴리이미드 필름을 포함할 수 있다. 구체적으로, 폴리이미드 기판은 폴리이미드 필름 및 상기 폴리이미드 필름의 적어도 일면에 형성된 실리콘 산화물 함유 배리어층을 포함할 수 있다.
- 폴리이미드 필름
상기 폴리이미드 필름은 필름 두께 10 내지 100를 기준으로 UV분광광도계로 측정된 350 내지 700nm에서의 평균 투과도가 85% 이상이고, 황색도가 15 이하이며, TMA(Time to Delamination)-Method에 따라 50 내지 250℃에서 측정한 평균 선팽창계수가 50.0ppm/℃이하인 투명한 폴리이미드 필름일 수 있다. 이와 같은 투명한 폴리이미드 필름은 하기에 설명하는 폴리이미드 수지로 제조된 것일 수 있다.
상기 폴리이미드 수지는 디안하이드라이드계 모노머 및 디아민계 모노머로 중합되어 제조될 수 있으며, 이때, 디안하이드라이드계 모노머로, 4,4'-(4,4'-이소프로필리덴디페녹시)비스(프탈릭안하이드라이드)(HBDA), 비페닐테트라카르복실산 디안하이드라이드(BPDA) 및 2-비스(3,4-디카르복시페닐)헥사플루오로프로판 디안하이드라드(6FDA)를 사용하고, 디아민계 모노머로 비스 트리플루오로메틸벤지딘(TFDB)를 사용할 수 있다.
본 발명에서 디안하이드라이드 모노머로 사용되는 4,4'-(4,4'-이소프로필리덴디페녹시)비스(프탈릭안하이드라이드)(HBDA), 비페닐테트라카르복실산 디안하이드라이드(BPDA) 및 2-비스(3,4-디카르복시페닐)헥사플루오로프로판 디안하이드라드(6FDA)는 1~4.5:3~5:2~5 몰비로 포함하는 것이 열적 안정성 및 우수한 기계적 특성을 구현하는데 바람직하다.
이때, 상기 4,4'-(4,4'-이소프로필리덴디페녹시)비스(프탈릭안하이드라이드)(HBDA)는 전체 디안하이드라이드 총몰에 대하여, 10 ~ 45몰%으로 포함될 수 있고, 내열성 측면에서 바람직하게는 15 ~ 30몰%로 포함될 수 있다. 만일, 상기 4,4'-(4,4'이소프로필리덴디페녹시)비스(프탈릭안하이드라이드)(HBDA)의 함량이 전체 디안하이드라이드 총몰에 대하여, 10몰% 미만일 경우, 기계적 특성의 개선이 미미하고, 45몰%를 초과할 경우에는 기계적 특성은 향상되는 반면, 내열성의 저하를 가져올 수 있다.
또한, 상기 비페닐테트라카르복실산 디안하이드라이드(BPDA)는 전체 디안하이드라이드 총 몰에 대하여, 함량이 30몰% 미만일 경우, 내열성이 저하되고, 50몰%를 초과할 경우에는 기계적 특성이 향상되는 반면, 복굴절 특성의 Rth 값이 70nm 이상으로 증가하기 때문에, 상기 비페닐테트라카르복실산 디안하이드라이드(BPDA)는 전체 디안하이드라이드 총 몰에 대하여 30 ~ 50몰%로 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 2-비스(3,4-디카르복시페닐)헥사플루오로프로판 디안하이드라드(6FDA)는 함량이 전체 디안하이드라이드 총몰에 대하여, 20몰% 미만일 경우, 복굴절률이 저하되고, 50몰%를 초과할 경우에는 복굴절률이 향상되는 반면, 기계적 특성이 저할될 수 있어, 상기 2-비스(3,4-디카르복시페닐)헥사플루오로프로판 디안하이드라드(6FDA)는 전체 디안하이드라이드 총중량에 대하여, 20 ~ 50몰%로 포함할 수 있다.
한편, 본 발명에서 사용되는 디아민으로는 비스 트리플루오로메틸벤지딘(TFDB)를 포함하거나, 또는 복굴절 개선 측면에서 비스 트리플루오로메틸벤지딘(TFDB)에 유연기를 갖는 디아민을 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 유연기를 갖는 디아민으로는 에테르기, 메틸렌기, 프로파르길기, 헥사플루오로프로파르길기, 카르보닐기, 술폰기, 술피드기 등과 같은 플렉시블(flexible)한 기를 주쇄 중에 포함하는 디아민을 의미하고, 그 일 예로는 비스(4-(4-아미노페녹시)페닐)술폰(BAPS), 비스(4-(3-아미노페녹시)페닐)술폰(BAPSM), 4,4'-디아미노디페닐술폰(4DDS), 3,3'-디아미노디페닐술폰(3DDS), 2,2-비스(4-(4-아미노페녹시)페닐프로판(6HDA), 4,4'-디아미노디페닐프로판, 4,4'-디아미노디페닐메탄, 4,4'-디아미노디페닐술피드, 4,4'-디아미노디페닐디에틸실란, 4,4'-디아미노디페닐실란, 4,4'-디아미노디페닐에틸포스핀옥시드, 4,4'-디아미노디페닐N-메틸아민, 4,4'-디아미노디페닐N-페닐아민, 1,3-디아미노벤젠, 1,2-디아미노벤젠, 4,4'-옥시디아닐린, 3,3'-옥시디아닐린, 2,4'-옥시디아닐린, 3,4'-옥시디아닐린, 1,3-비스(4-아미노페녹시)벤젠(TPE-R), 1,3-비스(3-아미노페녹시)벤젠, 4,4'-비스(3-아미노페녹시)비페닐, 4,4'-비스(4-아미노페녹시)비페닐 등에서 선택되는 1종 이상일 수 있고, 특히 유연기의 길이가 길고, 치환기의 위치가 meta 위치에 있는 디아민이 복굴절 개선 효과를 얻을 수 있다는 점에서 바람직하다.
이때, 상기 비스 트리플루오로메틸벤지딘(TFDB)은 기계적 물성을 개선하는 측면에서 전체 디아민 총몰에 대하여, 80몰% 이상으로 포함할 수 있고, 유연기를 갖는 디아민 1몰에 대하여, 20몰% 이하로 포함하는 것이 복굴절 및 기계적 물성을 개선하는데 바람직하다.
전술된 디안하이드라이드와 디아민을 1:1 당량비로 하여, 반응온도 -10 ~ 80℃, 반응시간 2 ~ 48시간 동안, 질소 또는 아르곤 분위기에서 중합하여 폴리아믹산을 제조할 수 있다.
상기 디안하이드라이드와 디아민의 중합반응을 위한 용매(중합용 용매)로는 폴리아믹산을 용해하는 용매이면 특별히 한정되지 않는다. 공지된 반응용매로서 m-크레졸, N-메틸-2-피롤리돈(NMP), 디메틸포름아미드(DMF), 디메틸아세트아미드(DMAc), 디메틸설폭사이드(DMSO), 아세톤, 디에틸아세테이트 중에서 선택된 하나 이상의 극성용매를 사용한다. 이외에도 테트라하이드로퓨란(THF), 클로로포름과 같은 저비점 용액 또는 -부티로락톤과 같은 저흡수성 용매를 사용할 수 있다. 이외에도 테트라하이드로퓨란(THF), 클로로포름과 같은 저비점 용액 또는 -부티로락톤과 같은 저흡수성 용매를 사용할 수 있다.
용매의 함량에 대하여 특별히 한정되지는 않으나, 적절한 폴리아믹산 용액의 분자량과 점도를 얻기 위하여 중합용 용매(제1 용매)의 함량은 전체 폴리아믹산 용액 중 50 ~ 95중량%가 바람직하고, 더욱 좋게는 70 ~ 90중량%인 것이 보다 바람직하다.
이와 같이 제조된 폴리아믹산 용액을 이미드화하여 제조된 폴리이미드 수지는 열안정성을 고려하여 유리전이온도(Tg)가 200 ~ 350℃인 것이 바람직하다.
본 발명에 사용되는 폴리이미드 필름 제조방법에 있어서, 중합된 폴리아믹산을 지지체에 캐스팅하여 이미드화하는 단계에서, 적용되는 이미드화법으로는 열이미드화법, 화학이미드화법, 또는 열이미드화법과 화학이미드화법을 병용하여 적용할 수 있다. 상기 열이미드화법은 폴리아믹산 용액을 지지체상에 캐스팅하여 40 ~ 400℃의 온도범위에서 서서히 승온시키면서 1 ~ 8시간 가열하여 폴리이미드 필름을 얻는 방법이다.
상기 화학이미드화법은 폴리아믹산 용액에 아세트산무수물 등의 산무수물로 대표되는 탈수제와 이소퀴놀린, -피콜린, 피리딘 등의 3급 아민류 등으로 대표되는 이미드화 촉매를 투입하는 방법이다. 이러한, 화학이미드화법에 열이미드화법 또는 열이미드화법을 병용하는 경우, 폴리아믹산 용액의 가열 조건은 폴리아믹산 용액의 종류, 제조되는 폴리이미드 필름의 두께 등에 의하여 변동될 수 있다.
상기 열이미드화법과 화학이미드화법을 병용하는 경우의 폴리이미드 필름 제조예를 보다 구체적으로 설명하면, 폴리아믹산 용액에 탈수제 및 이미드화 촉매를 투입하여 지지체상에 캐스팅한 후 80 ~ 200℃, 바람직하게는 100 ~ 180℃에서 가열하여 탈수제 및 이미드화 촉매를 활성화함으로써 부분적으로 경화 및 건조한 후, 200 ~ 400℃에서 5 ~ 400초간 가열함으로써 폴리이미드 필름을 얻을 수 있다.
한편, 본 발명에서는 상기 수득된 폴리아믹산 용액으로부터 다음과 같이 폴리이미드 필름을 제조하여 사용할 수도 있다. 즉, 수득된 폴리아믹산 용액을 이미드화한 후, 이미드화한 용액을 제 2 용매에 투입하고 침전, 여과 및 건조하여 폴리이미드 수지의 고형분을 수득하고, 수득된 폴리이미드 수지 고형분을 제 1 용매에 용해시킨 폴리이미드 용액을 이용하여 제막공정을 통하여 얻을 수 있다.
상기 제1 용매는 폴리아믹산 용액 중합시 사용한 용매와 동일한 용매를 사용할 수 있으며, 상기 제 2 용매는 폴리이미드 수지의 고형분을 수득하기 위하여 제 1 용매보다 극성이 낮은 것을 사용하며, 구체적으로는 물, 알코올류, 에테르류 및 케톤류 중 선택된 1종 이상인 것일 수 있다. 이때 상기 제 2 용매의 함량은 특별히 한정되는 것은 아니지만, 폴리아믹산 용액의 중량 대비 5 ~ 20중량%인 것이 바람직하다.
전술된 바와 같이 수득된 폴리이미드 수지 고형분을 여과한 후 건조하는 조건은 제 2 용매의 끓는점을 고려하여 온도는 50 ~ 120℃, 시간은 3 ~ 24시간인 것이 바람직하다. 이후 제막공정에서 폴리이미드 수지 고형분이 용해되어 있는 폴리이미드 용액을 지지체상에 캐스팅하여 40 ~ 400℃의 온도범위에서 서서히 승온시키면서 1분 ~ 8시간 가열하여 폴리이미드 필름을 얻는다.
이상에서 설명한 바와 같은 방법으로 얻어지는 폴리이미드 필름의 두께는 특별히 한정되는 것은 아니지만, 10 ~ 100㎛ 범위인 것이 바람직하고, 보다 바람직하게는 10 ~ 50㎛인 것이 좋다.
또한, 본 발명에 따른 폴리이미드 필름은 필름 두께 10㎛를 기준으로, Ro(면방향 위상차)가 1nm 이하이고, Rth(두께 방향 위상차)가 70nm(두께 10)이고, 복굴절률이 0.01 이하이며, 또한, 본 발명에 따른 폴리이미드 필름은 필름 두께 10 ~ 50㎛를 기준으로, 550nm에서 측정한 투과도가 88% 이상이고, 투과도 100% 차단 파장(cut off wavelength)이 360nm 이하로, 디스플레이의 기판 또는 디스플레이 보호층으로 사용할 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명에 따른 폴리이미드 필름은 ASTM D882(필름 두께 10 ~ 50㎛)를 기준으로 측정한 연신율이 6%이상이어서, 디스플레이 여러 공정을 거쳐도 휘거나 찢어지지 않기 때문에 제조사의 수율 측면에서 바람직하다.
- 실리콘 산화물 함유 배리어층
상기 실리콘 산화물 함유 배리어층은 상기 폴리이미드 필름의 적어도 일면에 형성될 수 있으며, 기판의 저흡습성을 개선시킬 수 있다.
상기 실리콘 산화물은 하기 화학식 1로 표시되는 단위구조를 포함할 수 있다.

여기서, R1과 R2는 각각 독립적으로 수소원자, 할로겐원자, 할로겐원자로 치환되거나 되지 않은 탄소수 1 내지 10의 알킬(alkyl)기 또는 할로겐원자로 치환되거나 되지 않은 탄소수 1 내지 10의 아릴(aryl)기 중 선택된 1종이다. 다만, 이에 특별히 제한되는 것은 아니나, 본 발명에서 상기 실리콘 산화물은 화학식 1에서의 R1및 R2가 메틸인구조의 폴리디메틸실록산(Poly dimetylsiloxane, PDMS)인 것이 소자의 수명 연장측면에서 보다 바람직할 수 있다.
본 발명에서 상기 실리콘 화합물의 점도 범위는 전단속도(shear rate)에 대한 점도가 급격히 변화하는 것을 방지하기 위하여 전단속도(shear rate)에 대한 점도 변화가 거의 없는 1~10,000 cSt인 것이 바람직하며, 보다 바람직하게는 15~900 cSt 일 수 있다. 이때, 상기 점도는 S90(ZahnCup Visco Tester, Gardner) NIST에 따른 표준 G시리즈 오일로 ISO 9002에 준하여 측정된 것으로 정의한다.
상기 실리콘 산화물 함유 배리어층은 두께가 0.3 ~ 3.0㎛ 인 것일 수 있으며, 상기 실리콘 산화물 함유 배리어층의 두께가 0.3㎛ 미만이면 산소와 수분에 대한 차단성을 담보할 수 없고, 3.0㎛ 초과이면 기판의 투과도가 낮아져서 투명 디스플레이용 기판으로서 적합하지 않을 수 있다.
- 습식유기 가스배리어층
한편, 상기 폴리이미드 기판은 폴리이미드 필름 및 실리콘 산화물 함유 배리어층 사이에 하기 화학식 2로 표시되는 폴리이소시아네이트 화합물을 포함하는 습식 유기가스 배리어층을 더 포함할 수 있다.

상기 화학식 3 및 4에서, n은 0 내지 5의 정수이고, m은 1 내지 5의 정수이며, R4은 탄소수 1 내지 10의 알킬기 또는 수소원자이며, R5는 탄소수 1 내지 10의 알킬렌이다.
상기 폴리이소시아네이트 화합물은 1분자 내에 복수의 이소시아네이트기를 갖는 유기화합물로, 상기 폴리이소시아네이트 화합물 1분자 내에 함유되는 이소시아네이트기의 수는 5개 이하인 것이 바람직하다.
이러한 상기 폴리이소시아네이트 화합물은 하이드록실기를 갖는 아크릴수지와 반응하여 아크릴레이트기를 함유하는 폴리이소시아네이트 화합물을 형성할 수 있다. 상기 아크릴레이트기를 함유하는 폴리이소시아네이트 화합물은 경화시 코팅막의 물리적 성질을 개선할 수 있는 가교구조를 형성할 수 있다. 아크릴기를 함유하는 폴리이소시아네이트 화합물에 있어서, 상기 이소시아네이트기가 5개 이상이면, 가스 배리어 측면에서는 유리하나, 가교도가 높아서 막이 경직하여 휨 특성을 저하시킬 수 있다.
상기 1분자 내에 2개의 이소시아네이트기를 갖는 폴리이소시아네이트 화합물의 예로는 톨릴렌 디이소시아네이트, 나프탈렌 디이소시아네이트, 자일릴렌 디이소시아네이트, 노보넨 디이소시아네이트 등과 같은 디이소시아네이트, 자일릴렌 디이소시아네이트, 노보넨 디이소시아네이트 등과 같은 디이소시아네이트 단량체들을 들 수 있으며, 이러한 디이소시아네이트 단량체들은 하이드록실기를 갖는 아크릴수지와 반응하여 아크릴레이트기를 함유하는 디이소시아네이트 화합물을 형성할 수 있다.
상기 아크릴레이트기 함유 폴리이소시아네이트기의 습식유기 가스배리어층은 그 두께가 1.0 ~ 20.0㎛일 수 있으며, 원하는 유기전계발광소자의 배리어 특성을 확보하기 위해서는 습식유기 가스배리어층의 두께가 1.0㎛ 이상으로 하는 것이 바람직하고, 투명 폴리이미드 기판의 유연성이 저하되는 점을 배제하기 위해 두께 20 ㎛이하로 하는 것이 바람직하다.
상기 습식유기 가스배리어층은 폴리이미드 필름상에 아크릴레이트기를 함유하는 폴리이소시아네이트를 포함하는 용액을 코팅 및 건조하고, 경화시키는 일련의 공정을 통해 얻어질 수 있다. 여기서, 상기 아크릴레이트기를 함유하는 폴리이소시아네이트를 포함하는 용액을 폴리이미드 필름의 일면 또는 양면에 코팅하는 방법은 스프레이(Spray) 코팅, 바(Bar) 코팅, 스핀(Spin) 코팅, 딥(Dip) 코팅 등의 다양한 방법 중 적절한 방법을 선택하여 실시할 수 있다.
상기 습식유기 가스배리어층의 경화는 자외선 경화 방법이며, 이를 고려하여 아크릴레이트기가 포함되는 용액 중에 광개시제를 포함할 수 있다. 상기 광개시제의 일 예로는 벤조인 에테르계 광개시제, 벤조페논계 광개시제 또는 이들의 조합을 들 수 있다. 자외선 경화시 조건은 312 내지 365 nm 파장의 자외선을 500 sowl 10,000 J/㎡로 조사하여 자외선 경화시킬 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 유기전계발광소자는 폴리이미드 필름상에 배리어층과 습식유기 가스배리어층을 함께 포함함으로써, 기판의 광학 특성과 배리어 특성을 더욱 향상시킬 수 있다.
[제 1 전극]
본 발명에 있어서, 제 1 전극은 폴리이미드 기판 상에 형성되며, 통상적으로 하부전극이라고 지칭하기도 하며, 양극(+)인 애노드(anode)이다.
상기 제1전극은 투과성을 가진 인-주석 산화물(indium tin-oxide) 전극, 인-아연 산화물(indium zinoxide) 전극 및 인듐-갈륨-아연 산화물 (IGZO: Indium gallium zinc oxide) 전극 중 선택되는 것일 수 있다. 상기 제 1 전극은 스퍼터링(sputtering) 방식, 이온 플레이팅(ion plating) 방식 및 전자총(e-gun) 등을 이용한 열 증착법에 의해 상기 폴리이미드 기판 상에 형성될 수 있다.
[유기물층]
본 발명에 있어서, 유기물층(70)은 제 1 전극(30)과 제 2 전극(50) 사이에 개재되어, 제 1 전극(30)과 제 2 전극(50) 사이의 통전에 의해 발광한다. 유기물층(70)은 제 1 전극(30)과 제 2 전극(50) 사이의 통전에 의해 발광하도록 정공 주입층(hole injection layer: HIL)(72), 정공 전달층(hole transporting layer: HTL)(74), 발광층(emissive layer: EML)(76), 전자 전달층(electron transporting layer: ETL)(78) 및 전자 주입층(electron injection layer: EIL)(79)을 포함하되, 하부로부터 순차적으로 적층된 형태로 포함한다.
상기, 유기물층(70)은 스핀코팅(spin coating) 방식, 열 증착(thermal evaporation) 방식, 스핀캐스팅(spin casting) 방식, 스퍼터링(sputtering) 방식, 전자빔 증착(e-beam evaporation) 방식 및 화학기상증착(chemical vapor deposition: CVD) 방식 등에 의해 제 1 전극(30)과 제 2 전극(50) 사이에 개재될 수 있다.
상기 정공 주입층(72)은 제 1 전극(30)으로부터의 정공이 주입되는 역할을 하며, 정공 전달층(74)은 정공 주입층(72)으로부터 주입된 정공이 제 2 전극(50)의 전자와 만나도록 정공의 이동로 역할을 한다. 상기 전자 주입층(79)은 제2전극(50)으로부터의 전자가 주입되는 역할을 하며, 전자 전달층(78)은 전자 주입층(79)으로부터 주입된 전자가 정공 전달층(74)으로부터 이동하는 정공과 발광층(76)에서 만나도록 전자의 이동로 역할을 한다.
상기 전자 전달층(78)에는 제 2 전극(50)으로부터 전자 주입을 원활하게 하기 위해 일함수가 낮은 금속류 및 이들의 복합물 중 어느 하나를 도핑하여 형성할 수 있으며, 이는 전자 주입층(79)의 유무에 관계없이 모두 적용될 수 있다. 여기서, 상기 일함수가 낮은 금속류는 Cs, Li, Na, K, Ca 등을 포함할 수 있으며, 상기 이들의 복합물은 Li-Al, LiF, CsF, Cs2CO3 등을 포함할 수 있다.
한편, 발광층(76)은 정공 전달층(74)과 전자 전달층(78) 사이에 개재되어 정공 전달층(74)으로부터의 정공과 전자 전달층(78)으로부터의 전자에 의해 발광한다. 즉, 발광층(76)은 각각 정공 전달층(74) 및 전자 전달층(78)과의 계면에서 만나는 정공과 전자에 의해 발광하는 것이다.
[제 2 전극]
본 발명에 있어서, 제 2 전극은 유기물층 상에 형성되며, 통상적으로 상부적극이라고 지칭하기도 하며, 음극(-)인 캐소드(cathode)이다.
상기 제 2 전극은 투과성을 갖는 금속인 은(Ag), 알루미늄(Al) 및 마그네슘-은(Mg:Ag) 합금 중 선택되는 금속으로 형성된 것일 수 있다. 또한, 상기 제 2 전극은 제 1 전극과 동일한 방법으로 형성될 수 있다.
[제 3 전극]
본 발명에 있어서, 제 3 전극은 제 2 전극상에 형성되며, 제 3 전극(51)은 투과성을 갖는 금속인 은(Ag), 알루미늄(Al) 및 마그네슘-은(Mg:Ag) 합금 중 선택되는 금속으로 형성된 것일 수 있다. 상기 제 3 전극은 제 1 전극과 동일한 방법으로 형성될 수 있다.
[투광층]
본 발명에 있어서, 유기전계발광소자가 폴리이미드 기판; 제 1 전극; 유기물층; 제 2 전극; 및 투광층을 포함하는 경우, 투광층은 제 2 전극의 상면 및 하면 중 적어도 일면에 형성될 수 있다. 즉, 투광층은 제 2 전극의 상면, 제 2 전극의 하면 또는 제 2 전극의 상면과 하면에 형성될 수 있으며, 투광층이 제 2 전극의 상면과 하면에 형성될 경우 상기 제 2 전극의 상면과 하면에 각각 형성되는 투광층은 동일 물질 또는 상이한 물질로 형성될 수 있다.
상기 투광층(90)이 제 2 전극(50)의 상면과 하면에 각각 형성될 경우, 상기 제 2 전극(50)의 상면에 형성되는 투광층을 제 2 투광층(92)이라 하고, 상기 제 2 전극(50)의 하면에 형성되는 투광층을 제 1 투광층(91)이라 지칭할 수 있다.
이때, 상기 제 1 투광층은 제 2 전극의 하면, 즉, 유기물층과 제 2 전극 사이에 형성되는 것일 수 있으며, 구체적으로는 유기물층 중 전자 주입층과 제 2 전극 사이에 형성될 수 있으며, 전자 주입층 자체에 형성될 수 있는 것이다. 상기 제 2 투광층은 제 1 투광층에 대향된 제 2 전극의 상면에 적층되는 것일 수 있다. 여기서, 투광층은 제 2 전극이 투과성을 가지는 동시에 높은 투과율을 가질 수 있도록 하는 기능을 한다. 또한, 투광층은 박막으로 형성되어 제 2 전극의 면저항을 감소시킴으로써, 유기전계발광소자의 성능이 저하되는 것을 방지할 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명에 있어서, 유기전계발광소자가 폴리이미드 기판; 제 1 전극; 유기물층; 제 2 전극; 제 3 전극; 및 투광층을 포함할 경우, 투광층은 제 2 전극의 하면 및 제 3 전극의 상면 중 적어도 일면에 형성될 수 있다. 즉, 투광층은 제 2 전극의 하면, 제 3 전극의 상면 또는 제 2 전극의 하면과 제 3 전극의 상면에 형성될 수 있으며, 투광층이 제 2 전극의 하면과 제 3 전극의 상면에 형성될 경우, 상기 제2전극의 하면과 제3전극의 상면에 각각 형성되는 투광층은 동일 물질 또는 상이한 물질로 형성될 수 있다.
여기서, 투광층은 제 3 전극(51)이 투과성을 가지는 동시에 높은 투과율을 가질 수 있도록 하는 기능을 한다. 또한, 투광층은 박막으로 형성되어 제 3 전극의 면저항을 감소시킴으로써, 유기전계발광소자의 성능이 저하되는 것을 방지할 수 있다.
상기 투광층(90)은 산화물, 질화물 및 염류로 구성된 군에서 선택되는 1종 이상에 의해 형성되는 것일 수 있다. 상기 산화물은 MoO3, ITO, IZO, IO, ZnO, TO, TiO2, SiO2, WO3, Al2O3, Cr2O3, TeO2 및 SrO2 로 구성된 군에서 선택되는 1종 이상일 수 있다. 또한, 상기 질화물은 SiN 및 AIN로 구성된 군에서 선택되는 1종 이상일 수 있으며, 상기 염류는 Cs2CO3, LiCO3, KCO3, NaCO3, LiF, CsF 및 ZnSe로 구성된 군에서 선택되는 1종 이상일 수 있다.
상기 투광층(90)은 그 두께가 각각 0.1nm 이상 100nm 미만일 수 있다. 상기 두께가 0.1nm 미만이면 투과율은 증가하나, 이에 비례하여 저항도 증가하므로 유기전계발광소자(1)의 성능이 저하될 수 있고, 두께가 100nm 이상이면 저항이 감소하여 성능 저하는 발생하지 않으나, 투광층 두께의 증가에 따라 투과율이 감소할 수 있다. 상기 투광층은 열 증착법에 의해 형성될 수 있다.
이하, 실시예를 통하여 본 발명을 더욱 상세히 설명하고자 한다. 이들 실시예는 오로지 본 발명을 보다 구체적으로 설명하기 위한 것으로서, 이에 의해 본 발명이 한정되는 것은 아니다.
제조예 1. 폴리이미드 필름 제조
제조예 1-1: 폴리이미드 분말 제조
반응기로써 교반기, 질소주입장치, 적하깔때기, 온도조절기 및 냉각기를 부착한 1L 반응기에 질소를 통과시키면서 N,N-디메틸아세타아미드(DMAc) 832g을 채운 후, 반응기의 온도를 25℃로 맞춘 후 비스 트리플루오로메틸 벤지딘(TFDB)64.046g(0.2mol)을 용해하여 이 용액을 25℃로 유지하였다. 여기에 2,2-비스(3,4-디카르복시페닐)헥사플루오로프로판 디안하이드라이드(6FDA) 31.09g(0.07mol)과 비페닐 테트라카르복실릭 디안하이드라이드(BPDA) 8.83g(0.03mol)을 투입 후 일정 시간 동안 교반하여 용해 및 반응 시켰다. 이 때 용액의 온도는 25℃로 유지하였다. 그리고 테레프탈로일 클로라이드(TPC) 20.302g(0.1mol)을 첨가하여 고형분의 농도는 13중량%인 폴리아믹산 용액을 얻었다. 상기 폴리아믹산 용액에 피리딘 25.6g, 아세틱 안하이드라이드 33.1g을 투입하여 30분 교반 후 다시 70℃에서 1시간 교반하여 상온으로 식히고, 이를 메탄올 20L로 침전시키고, 침전된 고형분을 여과하여 분쇄한 후 100℃에서 진공으로 6시간 건조하여 111g의 고형분 분말의 폴리이미드를 얻었다.
제조예 1-2: 폴리이미드 필름 제조
표면에 OH기가 결합된 비결정질 실리카 입자 0.03g (0.03wt%)를 N,N-디메틸아세타아미드(DMAc)에 분산농도 0.1%로 투입하고 용매가 투명해 질 때까지 초음파 처리를 하고 이후에 제조예 1-1의 고형분 분말의 폴리이미드 100g를 N,N-디메틸아세타아미드(DMAc) 670g에 녹여서 13wt%의 용액을 얻고, 이렇게 수득된 용액을 스테인레스판에 도포한 후 340㎛로 캐스팅하고 130℃의 열풍으로 30분 건조한 후 필름을 스테인레스판에서 박리하여 프레임에 핀으로 고정하였다. 필름이 고정된 프레임을 진공오븐에 넣고 100℃부터 300℃까지 2시간 동안 천천히 가열한 후 서서히 냉각해 프레임으로부터 분리하여 폴리이미드 필름을 수득하였다. 이후 최종 열처리 공정으로서 다시 300℃에서 30분 동안 열처리하였다. 이때 제조된 폴리이미드 필름은 두께가 50㎛이고, 평균 광투과도가 89.5%이며, 황색도가 2.4이고, TMA-Method에 따라 50 내지 250에서 측정한 평균 선팽창계수(CTE)가 20ppm/℃ 이였다.
제조예 2. 폴리이미드 기판 제조
제조예 2-1. 두께가 0.3인 배리어층이 형성된 기판 제조
상기 제조예 1에서 제조된 폴리이미드 필름에 화학식 1에서 R1과 R2이 모두 수소원자인 실리콘 산화물(Kobelco사 실리콘)을 증착시켜 두께가 0.3㎛인 배리어층을 형성하여, 폴리이미드 필름 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다. 이때, 상기 배리어층의 증착은 Kobelco社의 롤투롤 PECVD을 이용하여 Line Speed 1.0 m/min, Power 1.2KHz, 진공도 0.7 pascal로 수행하였다.
제조예 2-2. 두께가 0.3인 배리어층이 양면으로 형성된 기판 제조
제조예 2-1의 박막 트랜지스터용 기판과 같은 방법으로 제조하되, 롤투롤 PECVD를 통한 배리어층을 양면에 형성시켜 배리어층, 폴리이미드 필름 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
제조예 2-3. 두께가 1인 배리어층이 기판 제조
제조예 2-1의 박막 트랜지스터용 기판과 같은 방법으로 제조하되, 롤투롤 PECVD를 통한 배리어층 형성시 그 Line Speed 0.45 m/min의 조건으로 두께가 1㎛인 배리어층을 형성시켜 폴리이미드 필름 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
제조예 2-4. 두께가 1인 배리어층이 양면으로 형성된 기판 제조
제조예 2-3의 박막 트랜지스터용 기판과 같은 방법으로 제조하되, 롤투롤 PECVD를 통한 배리어층을 양면에 형성시켜 배리어층, 폴리이미드 필름 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
제조예 2-5. 두께가 3인 배리어층이 양면으로 형성된 기판 제조
제조예 2-4의 박막 트랜지스터용 기판과 같은 방법으로 제조하되, 롤투롤 PECVD를 통한 배리어층 형성시 그 Line Speed 0.15 m/min., Power 1.5KHz의 조건으로 두께가 3㎛인 배리어층을 형성시켜 배리어층, 폴리이미드 필름 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
제조예 2-6. 습식유기 가스배리어층(양면) 및 배리어층(단면, 두께 3)을 포함하는 기판 제조
화학식 2에서 m 및 n이 각각 1이고, R3 및 R4가 헥실기인 아크릴레이트가 함유된 폴리이소시아네이트(Natoco사, KLS-009 55wt%) 15g을 PGMEA 15ml에 녹인 용액을 바코터를 이용하여 제조예 1의 폴리이미드 필름의 양면에 도포한 후, 80℃의 온도로 건조하여 두께 15㎛의 도막을 얻었다. 그 후, 312nm 및 365nm의 자외선 경화기를 이용하여 두 파장을 동시에 100mw/cm2의 에너지로 10초간 조사하여 두께가 각각 15㎛인 습식유기 가스배리어층을 형성하였다. 이어서 상기 형성된 습식유기 가스배리어층 중 한 면의 상부에만 상기 제조예 2-4와 같이 롤투롤 PECVD를 통한 배리어층 형성시 그 Line Speed 0.15 m/min., Power 1.5KHz의 조건으로 두께가 3인 배리어층을 형성시켜 습식유기 가스배리어층, 폴리이미드 필름, 습식유기 가스배리어층 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
제조예 2-7. 습식유기 가스배리어층(양면) 및 배리어층(양면, 두께 3)을 포함하는 기판 제조
상기 제조예 2-6과 동일한 방법으로 제조하되, 롤투롤 PECVD를 통한 배리어층을 양면으로 형성시켜 배리어층, 습식유기 가스배리어층, 폴리이미드 필름, 습식유기 가스배리어층 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
제조예 2-8. 두께가 0.3인 배리어층이 형성된 기판 제조
상기 제조예 1에서 제조된 폴리이미드 필름에 화학식 1에서 R1및 R2가 모두 methyl인 실리콘 산화물(PDMS, dowcorning사)을 코팅하여 두께가 0.3㎛인 배리어층을 형성하였다.
제조예 2-9. 두께가 0.3인 배리어층이 양면으로 형성된 기판 제조
제조예 2-8의 박막 트랜지스터용 기판과 같은 방법으로 제조하되, 배리어층을 양면에 형성시켜 배리어층, 폴리이미드 필름 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
제조예 2-10. 두께가 1인 배리어층이 기판 제조
제조예 2-8의 박막 트랜지스터용 기판과 같은 방법으로 제조하되, 두께가 1인 배리어층을 형성하였다.
제조예 2-11. 두께가 1인 배리어층이 양면으로 형성된 기판 제조
제조예 2-10의 박막 트랜지스터용 기판과 같은 방법으로 제조하되, 배리어층을 양면에 형성시켜 배리어층, 폴리이미드 필름 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
제조예 2-12. 두께가 3인 배리어층이 양면으로 형성된 기판 제조
제조예 2-9의 박막 트랜지스터용 기판과 같은 방법으로 제조하되, 두께가 3인 배리어층을 형성시켜 배리어층, 폴리이미드 필름 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
제조예 3. 폴리이미드 기판 제조(비교 제조예)
제조예 3-1.
상기 제조예 1에서 제조된 폴리이미드 필름을 준비하여 비교 제조예 1-1로 하였다.
제조예 3-2. 습식유기 가스배리어층(양면)을 포함하는 기판 제조
상기 제조예 2-6과 동일한 방법으로 폴리이미드 필름 양면에 습식 유기 가스배리어층을 형성하되, 이후 배리어층을 형성하는 것은 생략하여 습식유기 가스배리어층, 폴리이미드 필름 및 습식유기 가스배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
제조예 3-3. 습식유기 가스배리어층(양면) 및 배리어층(단면, 두께 0.2)을 포함하는 기판 제조
상기 제조예 2-6과 동일한 방법으로 기판을 제조하되, 롤투롤 PECVD를 통한 배리어층 형성시 그 Line Speed 1.2 m/min., Power 1.5KHz, 진공도 0.7 pascal의 조건으로 두께가 0.2㎛인 배리어층을 형성시켜 습식유기 코팅층, 폴리이미드 필름, 습식유기 가스 배리어층 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
제조예 3-4. 습식유기 가스배리어층(양면) 및 배리어층(양면, 두께 0.2)을 포함하는 기판 제조
상기 제조예 3-3의 박막 트랜지스터용 기판과 같은 방법으로 제조하되, 롤투롤 PECVD를 통한 배리어층을 양면에 형성시켜 배리어층, 습식유기 가스배리어층, 폴리이미드 필름, 습식유기 가스배리어층 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
제조예 3-5. PET 필름을 사용한 기판 제조
상기 제조예 2-7과 같은 방법으로 기판을 제조하되, 폴리이미드 필름 대신 광학용 PET 필름(KOLON社 제품, 두께 188㎛)을 사용하여 배리어층, 습식유기 가스배리어층, PET 필름, 습식유기 가스배리어층 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
제조예 3-6. 습식유기 가스배리어층(양면) 및 배리어층(단면, 두께 5)을 포함하는 기판 제조
상기 제조예 2-6과 동일한 방법으로 기판을 제조하되, 롤투롤 PECVD를 통한 배리어층 형성시 그 Line Speed 0.15 m/min.의 조건으로 두께가 5㎛인 배리어층을 형성시켜 습식유기 가스배리어층, 폴리이미드 필름, 습식유기 가스배리어층 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
제조예 3-8. 습식유기 가스배리어층(양면) 및 배리어층(양면, 두께 5)을 포함하는 기판 제조
상기 제조예 2-7과 동일한 방법으로 기판과 같은 방법으로 제조하되, PECVD를 통한 배리어층을 양면에 형성시켜 배리어층, 습식유기 가스배리어층, 폴리이미드 필름, 습식유기 가스배리어층 및 배리어층이 순차적으로 적층된 기판을 제조하였다.
실시예 및 비교예: 유기발광소자 제조
먼저, 흡습제(Kolon Industries社, KFS-1), 실리콘 가교제 화합물(삼호CNE社, 상품명: 0.50 MMOLE/GM Crosslinker), 촉매(플라티늄 디비닐 착물, cSt社, 0.05% Platinum Complex in Vinyl Polymer 500)을 90:9.9:0.1의 비율로 배합하여 봉지재용 조성물을 제조하였다.
이와 동시에, 상기 제조예 2-1 내지 2-12 및 제조예 3-1 내지 3-7을 통해 제도한 기판 상에 제 1 전극(30), 유기층(70) 및 제 2 전극층을 포함하는 투과층(90)을 순차적으로 적층하여 유기전계발광소자부(1)를 형성한 후, 상기 제조된 봉지재용 조성물을 스핀코팅 방법으로 소자에 직접 코팅하여 시트로 성형하였다. 이어서 90℃에서 30분 동안 가열하여 경화시켜, 두께 20㎛의 봉지재(100)층을 포함하는 유기발광소자를 얻었다. 이때, 상기 제조예 2-1 내지 2-7의 기판을 사용한 유기발광소자를 실시예 1 내지 7로 하였고, 제조예 3-1 내지 3-7의 기판을 사용한 유기발광소자를 본 실시예의 비교예 1-7로 반영하였다.
측정예 1. 기판 특성 평가
상시 제조예 2-1 내지 2-12 및 제조예 3-1 내지 3-7의 이용하여 하기와 같은 방법으로 물성을 측정하여 그 결과를 표 1에 나타내었다.
(1) 평균 광투과도(%) 측정: Spectrophotometer (CU-3700D, KONICA MINOLTA)를 이용하여, 350~700nm에서의 광학투과도를 측정하였다.
(2) 황색도 측정: Spectrophotometer (CU-3700D, KONICA MINOLTA)를 이용하여 황색도를 측정하였다.
(3) 수분투과도(g/m2/day) 측정: 수분투과도기(MOCON/US/Aquatran- model-1)를 이용하여 수분투과도(WVTR)를 측정하였다.
(4) 열팽창계수(CTE): TMA(Perkin Elmer사, Diamond TMA)를 이용하여 TMA-Method에 따라 2번에 걸쳐 50~250℃에서의 열팽창계수를 측정하였으며 승온속도는 10℃/min, 100mN의 하중을 가하여 첫 번째 값을 실측정치로 제시하였다.
측정예 2. 소자 수명 평가
또한, 실시예 및 비교예의 OLED 소자에 대해 초기 발광 세기를 IVL TEST(전류-전압공급기(모델명 키슬리 2400, 제조사: 키슬리), 휘도측정기 (CS-200, 제조사: 미놀타), 지그부(영풍 CMC)로 구성)를 이용하여 측정하고, 이를 70℃ RH 80% 항온 항습기에서 보관하면서 시간 경과에 따른 발광 세기가 50%로 감소한 시간을 측정하여 이를 소자 수명으로 결정한 후, 그 결과를 하기 표 1에 나타내었다.

표 1에 나타난 바와 같이, 제조예 3-1의 경우에는 폴리이미드 필름을 단독으로 사용함에 따라 그 수분 투과율이 소자를 수분으로부터 보호할 수 없고, 제조예 3-2의 경우에는 습식유기 가스배리어층이 양면에 형성되어 있으나, 그 수분 투과율 역시 수분으로부터 소자를 보호하기에는 적합하지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 제조예 3-3 내지 제조예 3-4의 경우에는 배리어층이 형성되어 있기는 하나, 그 두께가 얇아 그 수분 투과율이 높아 수분으로부터 소자를 보호하기에는 적합하지 않음을 알 수 있었고, PET 필름을 기재로 사용한 제조예 3-5의 경우에는 수분 투과율 역시 높거나, 열팽창계수의 측정이 불가능할 정도로 커서 이후 공정에서 소자 등을 형성하는 고온 공정에 적합하지 않음을 알 수 있었다.
한편, 제조예 3-6 내지 제조예 3-7의 경우에는 그 휨특성이 너무 저하되어 플렉시블 전자기기 기판으로 사용할 수 없음을 확인하였고, 이를 기판으로 사용하는 OLED 소자의 수명은 평가하지 않았다.
반면, 제조예 2-1 내지 제조예 2-12은 전체적으로 광학 투과도, 황색도, 수분 투과율, 휨특성 및 열팽창계수를 모두 만족함에 따라 플렉시블 전자기기의 박막 트랜지스터용 기판으로 사용하기에 모두 적합함을 확인하였으며, 배리어층을 형성하는 실리콘 산화물의 종류를 달리한 제조예 2-8 내지 제조예 2-12의 소자 수명이 제조예 2-1 내지 2-5에 비해 조금 늘어난 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이에 따라, 수분 투과도와 열팽창계수가 낮은 제조예 2-1 내지 제조예 2-12을 기판으로 사용한 실시예 1 내지 12의 소자가 제조예 3-1 내지 제조예 3-5을 기판으로 사용한 비교예 1 내지 5의 소자에 비해 현저히 우수한 소자 수명을 나타냄을 확인할 수 있었다.

Claims (9)

  1. 폴리이미드 필름 및 상기 폴리이미드 필름의 적어도 일면에 형성된 실리콘 산화물 함유 배리어층을 포함하는 폴리이미드 기판;
    상기 폴리이미드 기판 상에 형성되는 제 1 전극;
    상기 제 1 전극 상에 형성되는 유기물층;
    상기 유기물층 상에 형성되는 제 2 전극; 및
    상기 제 2 전극의 상면 및 하면 중 적어도 일면에 형성되는 투광층을 포함하는 유기전계발광소자.
  2. 폴리이미드 필름 및 상기 폴리이미드 필름의 적어도 일면에 형성된 실리콘 산화물 함유 배리어층을 포함하는 폴리이미드 기판;
    상기 폴리이미드 기판 상에 형성되는 제 1 전극;
    상기 제 1 전극 상에 형성되는 유기물층;
    상기 유기물층 상에 형성되는 제 2 전극;
    상기 제 2 전극 상에 형성되는 제 3 전극; 및
    상기 제 2 전극의 하면 및 제 3 전극의 상면 중 적어도 일면에 형성되는 투광층을 포함하는 유기전계발광소자.
  3. 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서,
    상기 폴리이미드 필름은 필름 두께 10 내지 100㎛를 기준으로 UV분광광도계로 측정된 350 내지 700nm에서의 평균 투과도가 85% 이상이고, 황색도가 15 이하이며, TMA(Time to Delamination)-Method에 따라 50 내지 250℃에서 측정한 평균 선팽창계수가 50.0ppm/℃이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 유기전계발광소자.
  4. 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서,
    상기 실리콘 산화물은 하기 화학식 1로 표시되는 단위구조를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기전계발광소자.
