- FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a container format example of data transmitted between the distributor (transmission source device) and the display according to the first embodiment of the present invention.
- the format mainly includes a header portion 40 that represents various information and a payload portion 50 that is the actual state of transmission data.
- FIG. 3 shows an example of control command data, which includes payload portion CRC data 60.
- the header portion 40 includes a frame head synchronization pilot (Pilot) 41, a data size (HeaderSize) 42 of the entire header (after the data type), a data type (Type) 43, a control command type (CmdType) 44, a total number of connected displays ( DispAllNum) 45, passage display counter (DispNum) 46, payload part data size (Size) 47, header part CRC data (CRC_H) 48 are included.
- DispAllNum total number of connected displays
- DispNum passage display counter
- Size payload part data size
- CRC_H header part CRC data
- the payload section 50 includes response data (Response # 1, # 2,%) 51, 52,... From each display in response to a control command from the distributor 10.
- a distributor (transmission source device) 10 sets and transmits a control command for detecting the number of connections in CmdType 44 of the header section 40 as control command data.
- Each display that has received the control command transmits response data in response #n of the payload section 50.
- the response part (value corresponding to the counter) is set to “0” in the control command, and each display increments the response part (value corresponding to the counter).
- the response portion of the display 21 is incremented by 1 to “1”
- the display 22 is further incremented by “1” to “2”
- the display 23 is further incremented by “1” to “3”
- the display 24 is further incremented by “+1” to “4”.
- the first display 21 increments the value “0” corresponding to the counter received from the distributor (transmission source device) 10 and transmits it to the next adjacent display 22.
- the display (22, 23) sequentially increments the value corresponding to the received counter and transmits it to the next adjacent display (23, 24).
- the display 24 Since the display 24 is a terminal display and no further displays are connected, there is no response even if data is transmitted to the downstream display, so the display 24 determines that it is the terminal display. . Then, the value “4” incremented by the display 24 at the end thereof (the value corresponding to the counter) is transmitted in reverse order to the first display 21 by communication between adjacent displays, and response data is sent to the distributor 10. , It can be seen that the number of connected multiple displays (total number of displays) is four.
- the distributor 10 which is the data transmission source device has a value corresponding to the counter set in the control command received from the first display 21 and incremented by the display 24 at the end and first transmitted from the distributor 10. Based on this, the total number of connected displays can be detected. Also, the value corresponding to this counter is given by each display incrementing the numerical value of the specific area (Response portion) in the control command.
- the distributor which is the data transmission source device, sets and transmits the value corresponding to the counter to the control command to be transmitted to the first display, and the response part (response data) of the payload part 50 included in the control command.
- the DispNum 46 of the header part 40 is used as common information between the distributor and the display, and the same initial connection sequence at startup is used. The number of connections may be obtained by incrementing.
- the distributor 10 which is a data transmission source device transmits a value corresponding to the counter as common information between the first display 21 and the display operates the common information between the distributor and the display.
- the total number of connected displays can be detected. This can be determined by incrementing the numerical value of the specific area (DispNum) of the common information.
- Each display 21 to 24 (each of the plurality of displays) stores the response values “1” to “4” (values corresponding to the counter incremented on its own display) after being incremented on its own display. Thus, it is possible to specify its own position (the order of connection of its own display as to which display it is).
- the distributor 10 that is the transmission source device transmits a control command that instructs the first display not to display data. Since this control command is also transmitted to the adjacent displays in order, it is possible to instruct the plurality of displays 21 to 24 not to display data.
- the display downstream from the failure location cannot receive data from the upstream side. . Therefore, if data cannot be received from the upstream side for a certain period, the LCD control unit of each display stops the display. As a result, it is possible to prevent the user from feeling uncomfortable or becoming difficult to see even in the case of a display failure or poor connection.
- the header section 40 is transmitted in a form multiplexed with the display data (screen data) regardless of the type of data. If there is a change (difference) in the comparison, it is possible to detect that any one of the plurality of displays has been disconnected. At the same time, the display side knows its own order (the order of connection of its own display) when the value corresponding to the counter is incremented, and can also detect a change.
- FIG. 4 is an explanatory diagram showing an example of a method for displaying an image when one image is displayed on the display group 20 as a whole.
- the display group 20 is composed of displays 21 to 24 of one row and four columns, and the displays 21 to 24 are called displays # 1 to # 4, respectively.
- FIG. 4A shows buffering of video data (screen data).
- video data (screen data) to be displayed on a plurality of displays # 1 to # 4 is buffered on the distributor (transmission source device) 10 side. That is, display data (screen data) displayed on four connected displays is divided by the number of displays and buffered. Note that the resolution of each display can be obtained from the common information.
- the video data buffered on the distributor 10 side is replaced with data for the displays # 1 to # 4. That is, the order of the divided display data (screen data) is rearranged.
- the pixel data (RGB) for each scanning line in the X-axis direction that spans the displays # 1 to # 4 is considered as the scanning line of each display 21 to 24, and A pixel in the X-axis direction.
- B pixels in the Y-axis direction, and the total A ⁇ B pixel data is replaced.
- FIG. 4B shows a video data output state in which the output order is changed in this way.
- connection relationship since the distributor (transmission source device), display # 1, display # 2, display # 3, and display # 4 are connected in this order, the output order of screen data As shown in FIG. 4B, the data is exchanged so that the order of display # 4, display # 3, display # 2, and display # 1 is obtained. Then, the distributor (transmission source device) 10 adds the header part 40 as shown in FIG. 4C and transmits it to the display # 1 (first display 21).
- the distributor 10 which is a transmission source device displays screen data including data corresponding to screen portions to be sequentially displayed on the displays 22, 23 and 24 adjacent to the first display 21 on the four displays as a whole.
- the screen data is transmitted to the first display 21.
- data corresponding to the screen portions to be displayed on each display is transmitted in descending order from the data corresponding to the screen portion to be displayed on the display 24 at the end.
- each of the multiple displays can specify its own display order (the order of connection of its own display) from the value corresponding to the counter incremented on its own display. Based on the connection order, only the data corresponding to the screen portion displayed on its own display is filtered (extracted) from the received screen data and output to the LCD for image display. Each display outputs the received screen data to the adjacent downstream display as it is.
- the display # 1 receives data in the output order of the displays # 4, # 3, # 2, and # 1. This data is transmitted as it is to the adjacent downstream display # 2, and the display # 2 similarly receives the data in the output order of the displays # 4, # 3, # 2, and # 1. The same output order data is received also in the display # 3 and the display # 4.
- the display # 1 recognizes that it is the display in the first position (connection order), when receiving the data in the output order of the displays # 4, # 3, # 2, and # 1, It is determined that the data for display # 4 received is not data to be displayed by itself (at timing TM1), and the next data for display # 3 is checked (at timing TM2).
- the display # 1 checks the data for the display # 3 (at timing TM2)
- the display # 2 is at the timing when the data for the first display # 4 is checked.

Abstract
