Abstract
Description
本願は、2013年2月25日に日本に出願された特願2013-035208号に基づき優先権を主張し、その内容をここに援用する。
酸化物超電導層はセラミックスの一種であり、Y系として知られている希土類酸化物系の超電導線材は、抗張力体として設ける金属製の基材上に薄膜を複数積層した構造を有する。一例として、希土類酸化物系の酸化物超電導線材は、ハステロイ(米国ヘインズ社、商品名)などの耐熱性のテープ状金属基材上に結晶配向性を制御した中間層を介し酸化物超電導層を積層し、酸化物超電導層上にCuなどの金属材料からなる安定化層を積層した構造が採用されている。
特許文献1に記載された構造は、希土類系酸化物超電導線材への剥離応力低減策として、超電導線材の全周面に絶縁層を被覆し、その絶縁層の外表面の一部のみに離型材層を形成した構造であり、特に超電導コイルの径方向で応力の強い部分のみに離型材層を適用することも開示されている。
特許文献1には、平角素材からなる酸化物超電導線素材を絶縁材層にて全周被覆し、その一面側に離型材層を沿わせて設けた複合超電導線材が開示されている。また、この複合超電導線材をコイル加工した後、エポキシ樹脂などの熱硬化性合成樹脂を含浸させ、硬化させた硬化樹脂層により固めた構造を有する超電導コイルが開示されている。
特許文献2に記載の構造によれば、超電導コイル部の径方向に接着力を他の部分より弱くした構造を部分的に導入し、接着力の弱い部分で応力開放できる結果、超電導線材自体に対する剥離応力の低減を図っている。
しかし、超電導コイルにおいて熱応力の作用を考慮すると、熱応力はコイルの径方向に一様ではなく、コイルの中側においてより顕著に応力が作用するなど、不均一に作用すること、コイルの寸法の大小により応力が異なり、径の大きなコイルでは酸化物超電導線材が耐えきれないほどの応力が作用するおそれがあると考えられる。
293Kに対する140Kの熱収縮率が-0.517%以上の含浸樹脂から含浸樹脂層が形成されているので、酸化物超電導線材の臨界温度以下の温度まで冷却して使用する場合の熱応力が作用しても酸化物超電導層が剥離するおそれが少なく、超電導特性の劣化し難い高温超電導コイルを提供できる。また、高温超電導コイルに対する通電の繰り返しにより繰り返し熱応力が作用したとしても、酸化物超電導層が剥離するおそれが無く、超電導特性が劣化し難く、コイル強度の高い高温超電導コイルを提供できる。
テープ状の基材上に中間層と酸化物超電導層と金属安定化層とを備えた酸化物超電導線材を用いて高温超電導コイルを構成した場合、高温超電導コイルに対する熱応力の負荷により酸化物超電導層を基材から剥離する方向に応力が作用する。しかしながら、本発明の第一態様に係る高温超電導コイルによると、293Kに対する140Kの熱収縮率が-0.517%以上の含浸樹脂から前記含浸樹脂層を形成しているので、酸化物超電導層が剥離するおそれが低く、超電導特性の劣化し難い高温超電導コイルを提供できる。
含浸樹脂層に充填剤粒子を47体積%以上80体積%以下含有させることにより含浸樹脂層の293Kに対する140Kの熱収縮率を-0.517%以上に制御することができ、熱応力が作用しても超電導特性の劣化し難い高温超電導コイルを提供できる。
充填剤粒子の粒径を12μm以下とすることにより、含浸樹脂中に充填剤粒子を均一分散できる。また、含浸樹脂の粘度が不要に高くならないので、ボイドの生じ難い含浸樹脂層を形成することができ、強度の高い高温超電導コイルを提供できる。
含浸樹脂の60℃における粘度を560mPa・s以下とすることにより、含浸性が良好であり、ボイドの生じ難い含浸処理ができるので、強度の高い高温超電導コイルを提供できる。
熱応力付加に強い高温超電導コイルを備えた超電導機器であるならば、酸化物超電導線材の臨界温度以下に冷却する操作を行っても、超電導特性の劣化しない、優れた超電導特性を維持できる超電導機器を提供できる。
図1は本発明の第1実施形態に係る高温超電導コイルを構成するための酸化物超電導線材の一例構造を示す概略断面図である。この例の酸化物超電導線材10を用いて図2に示すコイル本体11が構成されている。このコイル本体11を複数積層して含浸樹脂により固めた構造を有する図3に示す高温超電導コイル17を備えて超電導機器20が構成されている。
図1に示す本実施形態の酸化物超電導線材10は、基板1の一面(第1の面)上に中間層2と酸化物超電導層3と金属安定化層4とがこの順に積層された構造を有する超電導積層体5の外周面上に、超電導積層体5の外周面を覆う絶縁被覆層7が形成された構造を有する。本実施形態において金属安定化層4は、酸化物超電導層3上に形成された第1の金属安定化層8と、第1の金属安定化層8上に形成された第2の金属安定化層9とにより構成されている。
なお、図1に示す酸化物超電導線材10は、本発明の特徴をわかりやすくするため、便宜上、各層の厚さを誇張して記載しているが、本実施形態の酸化物超電導線材10は全体として薄いテープ形状を有する。また、以下の実施形態を示す各図においても本発明の特徴をわかりやすくするため、要部となる部分を拡大あるいは誇張して示している場合があり、各構成要素の寸法比率などが実際と同じであるとは限らない。
中間層2は、一例として、拡散防止層とベッド層と配向層とキャップ層との積層構造を有することができるが、拡散防止層とベッド層との一方あるいは両方を略して構成しても良い。
前記拡散防止層は、基材1の構成元素拡散を防止する目的で形成され、窒化ケイ素(Si3N4)、酸化アルミニウム(Al2O3)、GZO(Gd2Zr2O7)等から構成され、スパッタ法などの成膜法により例えば厚さ10~400nmに形成される。
ベッド層は、耐熱性が高く、界面反応性を低減するための層であり、ベッド層の上に形成される膜の配向性を得るために用いる。ベッド層は、Y2O3、Er2O3、CeO2、Dy2O3、Er2O3、Eu2O3、Ho2O3、La2O3等からなる。ベッド層は、スパッタリング法等の成膜法により形成され、その厚さは例えば10~100nmである。
この配向層をIBAD(Ion-Beam-Assisted Deposition)法により良好な2軸配向性で成膜するならば、キャップ層の結晶配向性を良好にすることができ、キャップ層の上に成膜する酸化物超電導層7の結晶配向性を良好にして優れた超電導特性を発揮できる。
キャップ層は、上述の配向層の表面に成膜されて結晶粒が面内方向に自己配向し得る材料から形成され、具体的には、CeO2、Y2O3、Al2O3、Gd2O3、ZrO2、YSZ、Ho2O3、Nd2O3、LaMnO3等から形成される。
上記材料の中でもCeO2層は、PLD法(パルスレーザー蒸着法)、スパッタリング等により大きな成膜速度で形成でき、良好な結晶配向性を得ることができる。キャップ層の膜厚は50~5000nmの範囲に形成できる。
酸化物超電導層3は、スパッタ法、真空蒸着法、レーザー蒸着法、電子ビーム蒸着法、化学気相成長法(CVD法)等の物理的蒸着法、熱塗布分解法(MOD法)等で積層することができる。なかでも生産性の観点から、PLD(パルスレーザー蒸着)法、TFA-MOD法(トリフルオロ酢酸塩を用いた有機金属堆積法、塗布熱分解法)又はCVD法を用いることができる。
第2の金属安定化層9を形成するには、例えば上述の材料からなるテープ材の裏面側に接続用のSnめっき半田層を形成した安定化テープを用い、第1の金属安定化層8上に第2の金属安定化層9を半田付けするなどの方法により形成できる。なお、第2の金属安定化層9はその他種々の構成を採用できるので、その他の構造については後に記載する他の実施形態において説明する。
図2は酸化物超電導線材10を同心円状に巻回してなるコイル本体11を2つ積層した状態を示す。図3に示すようにこれらのコイル本体(パンケーキコイル)11を必要数重ねて鍔板26、26を備えたボビンに組み込むことで本実施形態の高温超電導コイル17が構成される。この高温超電導コイル17を備えて超電導機器20が構成されている。
上述の高温超電導コイル17は1つの例であるので、本実施形態において適用できる高温超電導コイルは図3に示す構造に限らず、1本の酸化物超電導線材10を鍔板間の巻胴の全体に同心円状に巻装した構成でも良い。また、コイル本体11の積層数も任意の数で差し支えない。
図4に示すように酸化物超電導線材10は同心円状に巻回されてコイル本体11が構成され、コイル本体11の全体を含浸樹脂層6で覆って含浸コイル13が構成されている。
より詳細に高温超電導コイル17は、コイル本体11を2個ずつ冷却板25を介し合計8個積み上げるとともに、8個のコイル本体11がそれぞれ含浸樹脂層6で覆われ、固着されている。
そこで293Kに対する140Kの熱収縮率と超電導コイル特性の関係を調査した。
酸化物超電導線材10において、後述する実施例の試験結果から、熱収縮率を-0.517%以上とすることにより、酸化物超電導線材の剥離を防止して超電導特性の劣化のない超電導コイルを得られることが分かった。熱収縮率の制御により、酸化物超電導線材10の剥離を防止して超電導特性の劣化のない超電導コイル17を得ることができる。
熱収縮率を-0.517%以上とするためには、充填剤粒子を47~80体積%添加することが好ましい。前記含浸樹脂層6は、エポキシ樹脂、フェノール樹脂、尿素樹脂、メラミン樹脂等の熱硬化性樹脂を用い、充填剤粒子を上記の割合で分散させて形成される。充填剤粒子(無機物粒子)は、BN、AlN、ZnO、Al2O3(アルミナ)、ガラス、SiO2(シリカ)、ZrO2、MgOなどのいずれか1種または2種以上からなる粒子を適用できる。
充填剤粒子の粒径が小さい方が分散性が良好となり、含浸後のコイルの収縮率分布が小さくなる。充填剤粒子の粒径が1μm未満の微細粒である場合は、粘度が大きくなったり、樹脂層6の硬化のための加熱時に微細粒の凝集が発生し、粒径を小さくした意味合いが薄くなる。そのため、充填剤粒子の粒径は1μm以上、12μm以下であることがより好ましい。
また、含浸樹脂層6を構成する樹脂の硬化前の粘度が大き過ぎると、含浸時にコイル本体11の隅々まで樹脂が含浸できなくなるおそれがある。そのため、高温超電導コイル17の内部にボイドが入り易くなり、高温超電導コイル17の強度が低下するおそれがある。
図3に示す超電導機器20は、真空容器などの収容容器21と、その内部に設置された高温超電導コイル17と、収容容器21の内部の高温超電導コイル17を臨界温度以下に冷却するための冷凍機22とを備えて構成された超電導マグネット装置の一例である。収容容器21は、図示略の真空ポンプに接続されていて、内部を目的の真空度に減圧できるように構成されている。また、高温超電導コイル17は、収容容器21の外部の電源23に電流リード線23a、23bを介し接続されており、この電源23から高温超電導コイル17に通電できるように構成されている。
図3に示す超電導機器20において、常温から冷凍機により冷却を開始し、臨界温度以下まで高温超電導コイル17を冷却して使用する場合、高温超電導コイル17を覆っている含浸樹脂層6が熱収縮することで高温超電導コイル17に応力が作用しようとする。しかしながら、充填剤粒子を分散させた熱収縮率-0.517%以上の含浸樹脂層6で酸化物超電導線材10を覆っているので、熱収縮に起因して高温超電導コイル17に作用する応力を緩和することができる。このため、高温超電導コイル17を構成している酸化物超電導線材10に熱収縮に伴って作用する応力も減少できる。
従って、常温から臨界温度以下に冷却する操作を行って熱応力を作用させたとしても酸化物超電導線材10に作用する応力を低減できるので、酸化物超電導線材10の超電導特性を劣化させることなく超電導機器20を使用することができる。
図5は本発明の第1実施形態に係る高温超電導コイルに適用可能な酸化物超電導線材の第2実施形態の横断面模式図である。
図5に示す酸化物超電導線材10Bは、基材1の一方の面(第1の面)上に中間層2と酸化物超電導層3と第1の金属安定化層8がこの順に積層されて形成された矩形断面の積層基体S2を中央に備え、この積層基体S2の外周面を第2の金属安定化層12で覆って形成された横断面略矩形状の超電導積層体5Bの外周面上に、該超電導積層体5Bの外周面を覆う絶縁被覆層7Bが形成された構造を有する。本実施形態において金属安定化層4Bは、酸化物超電導層3上に形成された第1の金属安定化層8と、積層基体S2の外周面を覆う第2の金属安定化層12とから構成されている。
図5に示す超電導線材10Bにおいて図1に示す酸化物超電導線材10と同一の構成要素には同一の符号を付し、詳細な説明を略する。
なお、図5では略されているが、金属テープからなる第2の金属安定化層12を積層基体S2の外周に半田を介して一体化する場合は積層基体S2と第2の金属安定化層12との間には半田層が存在する。
図5に示す構造を有する酸化物超電導線材10Bを用いて本発明の第1実施形態に係る高温超電導コイルを構成することもできる。
ハステロイC-276(商品名:米国ヘインズ社製)からなる幅5mm、厚さ75μmあるいは厚さ100μmのテープ状の基材を複数用意した。
次に、以下の形成条件により、複数の基材の一面上に、拡散防止層、ベッド層、配向層およびキャップ層をこの順に積層した。各成膜の際には、成膜装置の内部にテープ状の基材を搬送する送り出しリールと巻き取りリールを設け、基材を所定の速度で移動させつつ基材上に順次成膜する処理を行った。
イオンビームスパッタ法により、テープ状の基材の上にAl2O3からなる膜厚100nmの拡散防止層を形成し、次に、イオンビームスパッタ法により、拡散防止層の上にY2O3からなる膜厚20nmのベッド層を形成した。次に、IBAD法により、ベッド層の上にMgOからなる膜厚10nmの配向層を形成した。
得られた複数の積層体のそれぞれに後の表1に示すように75μmあるいは100μmの厚さの銅製の金属安定化テープをSnめっき半田層を介し貼り合わせ接合し、酸化物超電導線材を得た。
以下の表1の絶縁の欄に記載したPI(L)は、ポリイミドテープを酸化物超電導線材に縦添え(12.5μm×1)して絶縁処理した試料、PI(S)は、ポリイミドテープを酸化物超電導線材に螺旋状に重ね巻き(12.5μm×1)して絶縁処理した試料である。
これらの酸化物超電導線材を外径50mmあるいは60mm、厚さ5mmのガラス繊維強化プラスチック(GFRP)製の円筒状の巻胴の周囲に巻回し、以下の表1に示すコイル内径とコイル外径とを有するコイル本体を構成した。このコイル本体にエポキシ樹脂を真空含浸して高温超電導コイルを得た。この高温超電導コイルにおいて樹脂を含浸する前後の電流(I)-電圧(V)特性を測定することによりコイル特性を評価した。以上の結果を併せて以下の表1に記載する。なお、真空含浸の温度は特に限定されず、真空含浸時に加圧しても良いし、超音波を使った真空含浸でも良い。実施例6、比較例4では真空含浸ではなく、塗り巻き(含浸材を塗りながら巻線)によって高温超電導コイルを得た。
含浸材の欄に記載した従来含浸材Iの試料は、従来より入手可能で線膨張が60ppm(熱収縮率で-0.827%:293Kに対する140Kの熱収縮率)のエポキシ樹脂製の含浸樹脂を用いたことを意味する。
表1のヒートサイクル試験とは、樹脂含浸評価後に一度、室温まで昇温し、再度、コイルを液体窒素中でIcを測定する操作を3回繰り返した時の結果である。もし仮に、酸化物超電導線材とコイル含浸材の歪が大きければ、繰り返しヒートサイクルを受けることで酸化物超電導線材が劣化するためこの評価は重要であると考えられる。
表1の評価の欄に記載された○は、樹脂含浸前のIcと比較して、含浸後あるいはヒートサイクル後のIcが5A以上低下しなかったこと、又は樹脂含浸前のn値と比較して、樹脂含浸後のn値又はヒートサイクル後のn値が10以上低下しなかったことを示す。表1の評価の欄に記載された×は、樹脂含浸前のIcと比較して、含浸後あるいはヒートサイクル後のIcが5A以上低下したこと、又は樹脂含浸前のn値と比較して、樹脂含浸後のn値又はヒートサイクル後のn値が10以上低下したことを示す。
表1の各試料に用いた含浸材(含浸樹脂,樹脂)の特性について以下の表2に纏めて示す。
表1に示す試験には、表2で示された従来含浸材I、II、試作含浸材I、II、III、IV、Vの7つの含浸材を使用し、含浸材を作成する場合に用いた充填剤粒径、含浸樹脂の粘度、それぞれの含浸材の収縮率と引張強度を測定した結果を示す。また、試作含浸材Iの充填剤粒子(シリカ)含有量は55体積%、試作含浸材IIの充填剤粒子(シリカ)含有量は55体積%、試作含浸材IIIの充填剤粒子(アルミナ)含有量は47体積%、試作含浸材IVの充填剤粒子(シリカ)含有量は55体積%である。
このことから、真空含浸の場合、含浸性を良好とするためには、560mPa・s以下(60℃)の含浸材の粘度が必要であることが判明した。また、含浸材に配合する無機粒子の粒径は12μm以下であることが好ましいことも判明した。また、表1と表2に示す実施例6の結果から、真空含浸ではなく、塗り巻きによって超電導コイルを得る場合、粘度が560mPa・sを超えたとしても、293Kに対する140Kの熱収縮率が-0.517%以上の含浸材を用いれば、ヒートサイクル試験にも耐え得ることが判明した。
表2に示す試作含浸材IIは粘度が高いため、含浸樹脂層中にボイドが生じたと思われ、含浸材の引張強度が低下した。そのため、比較例3は粘度が高いため、含浸性が悪く、コイル特性が劣化したと考えられる。含浸材の粘度が高いのは充填剤の粒径が12μmを超えて13μmとなった影響であると思われる。なお、粒径5μmの充填剤を80体積%を超える量で含有すると粘度が1000mPa・sを超えるようになり、ボイドを生成するおそれが高くなるので、充填剤の含有量は80体積%以下であることが好ましい。
比較例4の従来含浸材IIは、熱収縮率-0.6%(293Kに対する140Kの熱収縮率)、のエポキシ樹脂含浸材(充填剤粒子含有量40体積%)であるが、含浸後n値の低下が発生し、含浸後Ic値の低下も発生した。
Claims (5)
- テープ状の基材と、前記基材上に積層された中間層と、前記中間層上に積層された酸化物超電導層と、前記酸化物超電導層上に積層された金属安定化層と、を備える酸化物超電導線材と、
前記酸化物超電導線材がコイル状に巻回されて形成されたコイル本体と、
293Kから140Kへ冷却したときの長さの変化率を示す熱収縮率が-0.517%以上の含浸樹脂から形成され、前記コイル本体を覆う含浸樹脂層と、
を含む高温超電導コイル。 - 前記含浸樹脂層に充填剤粒子が47体積%以上80体積%以下含有される請求項1に記載の高温超電導コイル。
- 前記充填剤粒子の粒径が12μm以下である請求項2に記載の高温超電導コイル。
- 60℃において560mPa・s以下の粘度を有する樹脂から前記含浸樹脂層が形成された請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の高温超電導コイル。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の高温超電導コイルを備える超電導機器。
