Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for producing a mixture of fluoroalkyl iodides.
- Such a telomerization reaction is performed by sequentially reacting 1-iodoperfluoroethane (C 2 F 5 I), which is a telogen, and tetrafluoroethylene, which is a taxogen, in a reactor.
- Patent Document 1 discloses that in a reaction apparatus in which a catalyst exists, the formula R f -I as a telogen (wherein R f is a fluoroalkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms) and a taxogen as a taxogen.
- R f — (CF 2 CF 2 ) n —I By telomerization reaction with tetrafluoroethylene, R f — (CF 2 CF 2 ) n —I (wherein R f is a fluoroalkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and n is an integer of 1 to 4)
- a method for producing a fluoroalkyl iodide represented by formula (1) is disclosed.
- Such a method is also an excellent method, but there is room for improvement in the selectivity of the fluoroalkyl iodide produced. That is, since the above telomerization reaction is a sequential reaction, the reaction of 1-iodoperfluoroethane (C 2 F 5 I) and tetrafluoroethylene proceeds in the reactor at the same time as the above formula. Reaction of telogen with n of 1 or more and tetrafluoroethylene also proceeds.
- the reaction between 1-iodoperfluoroethane (C 2 F 5 I) and tetrafluoroethylene is a rate-determining step because the reaction rate is slow.
- 1-iodoperfluoroethane (C 2 F 5 I) and tetrafluoroethylene are reacted with each other to produce 1-iodoperfluorobutane (C 4 F 9 I).
- Fluorobutane (C 4 F 9 I) reacts with tetrafluoroethylene in the reactor and the reaction proceeds sequentially one after another.
