- the scattered light contained in the mixed light received by the photodetector 10 is detected by the photodetector 10 because it has undergone a frequency shift by the optical modulators 23 and 24 and a Doppler shift accompanying the movement of the aerosol.
- the frequency of the beat signal is f M1 + f d1 and f M2 + f d2 .
- the difference between the frequencies f 1 and f 2 of the CW laser light oscillated by the CW laser light sources 1 and 2 only needs to be larger than the gain bandwidth of the stimulated Brillouin scattering. As in 2, it is not necessary to consider the overlap of the components of the frequency f 1 and the frequency f 2 . For this reason, the wavelength difference between the CW laser light sources 1 and 2 can be increased, and the degree of freedom of equipment to be used can be increased.

- the transmission / reception light separator 42 allows the laser light amplified by the spatial light amplifier 41 to pass to the transmission / reception optical system 43 side, while propagating in the opposite direction to the laser light (scattered light received by the transmission / reception optical system 43). ) Is switched to the optical multiplexing coupler 9 side, and the laser light is propagated to the optical multiplexing coupler 9.
- the transmission / reception optical system 43 irradiates the laser beam that has passed through the transmission / reception light separator 42 toward the target (for example, the atmosphere, fine particles in the atmosphere, aerosol, flying object, building, etc.), while A process of receiving scattered light is performed.
- the target for example, the atmosphere, fine particles in the atmosphere, aerosol, flying object, building, etc.
- a spatial optical amplifier 41 is provided at the subsequent stage of the optical fiber amplifier 6, except that a transmission / reception optical separator 42 is mounted instead of the optical circulator 7 and a transmission / reception optical system 43 is mounted instead of the transmission / reception optical system 8. This is the same as in the first embodiment.
- the propagation path of laser light from the spatial optical amplifier 41 to the transmission / reception optical system 43 is a space.
- the spatial optical amplifier 41 includes, for example, a rod type, a slab type, a disk type, a planar waveguide type or the like solid laser medium and a pumping light source.
- the solid laser medium for example, a material in which ions such as Nd, Yb, Er, Tm, and Ho are added to a base material such as crystal, ceramic, or glass can be used.
- a material having a gain is used.
- an LD or the like that outputs laser light having a wavelength that is absorbed by the laser medium and generates a gain is used.
- the power density of laser light can be increased, so that efficient amplification can be performed. Further, amplification can be performed without deteriorating the spatial propagation mode of the output light by the waveguide mode of the waveguide.
- the laser light amplified by the optical fiber amplifier 6 is made substantially parallel using an optical element such as a lens, and the beam diameter is adjusted in accordance with the shape of the solid-state laser medium. Amplification is performed by inputting laser light. As described above, the laser light output from the spatial optical amplifier 41 is output as substantially parallel light because it is converted into substantially parallel light by an optical element such as a lens.
- the spatial optical amplifier 41 uses a solid-state laser medium, it can amplify without being limited by the power density, and can amplify to any power.
- the solid-state laser medium it is possible to simultaneously amplify laser beams having a plurality of wavelengths within the gain band.
- the transmission / reception light separator 42 When the transmission / reception light separator 42 receives laser light from the spatial optical amplifier 41, the transmission / reception light separator 42 passes the laser light to the transmission / reception optical system 43 side.
- the transmission / reception light separator 42 separates the scattered light received by the transmission / reception optical system 43 from the transmission optical path of the laser light, and couples the scattered light to an optical fiber via an optical element such as a lens. To propagate toward the optical demultiplexing coupler 9 side. Separation of the transmission optical path and the reception optical path can be realized, for example, by combining a polarizer and a quarter wavelength plate.
- a spatial light circulator can also be used.

- the transmission / reception optical system 43 converts the scattered light into a substantially parallel light and propagates it in the direction opposite to the laser light as the transmission light, and outputs it to the transmission / reception light separator 42.
- the scattered light is coupled to the optical fiber by the transmission / reception light separator 42.
- the transmission / reception optical system 43 can use a telescope capable of making the emitted laser light substantially parallel and adjusting the focal length. However, it reduces diffraction generated in the emitted laser light. In order to further increase the reception efficiency, it is preferable that the aperture is large.

- the signal intensity of light increases. Furthermore, as described above, since these scattered lights are superimposed and measured, the signal intensity can be increased, the S / N ratio can be improved, and highly sensitive and highly accurate measurement can be performed. Become.
- the configuration in which the spatial optical amplifier 41 and the transmission / reception light separator 42 are mounted is applied to the laser radar device of the first embodiment.
- the present invention is not limited to this. You may make it apply to the laser radar apparatus of the forms 2-4.
- the output power of the optical fiber amplifier 6 becomes larger because the wavelength of the laser light to be transmitted is larger, so that the spatial optical amplifier 41 is more saturated. It becomes possible to perform efficient amplification close to amplification. Thereby, since the power of the laser beam can be further increased, the signal intensity of the scattered light that is the received light is increased, and it is possible to perform highly sensitive and highly accurate measurement.
- At least one of an optical fiber amplifier and a spatial optical amplifier may be further mounted between the optical fiber amplifier 6 and the spatial optical amplifier 41. Further, a plurality of these amplifiers may be used in combination. Also in this case, since the power of the laser beam input to the final-stage spatial optical amplifier 41 can be increased, the final-stage spatial optical amplifier 41 can perform efficient amplification closer to saturation amplification. become. As a result, the power of the laser beam can be further increased, and the signal intensity of the scattered light that is the received light can be increased, so that highly sensitive and highly accurate measurement can be performed.
- FIG. 6 is a block diagram showing a laser radar apparatus according to Embodiment 6 of the present invention.
- the laser radar apparatus of FIG. 6 receives the scattered light from the aerosol (particles such as dust floating in the atmosphere) by irradiating the laser pulse light into the atmosphere, and detects the Doppler shift of the scattered light. It is assumed that it is a coherent Doppler lidar device that performs measurement.
- the controller 53 controls the operation state of the CW laser light sources 51 and 52 in accordance with information about the target extracted by the signal processing device 11 (for example, information such as received signal intensity of scattered light, round trip time, and Doppler frequency). Thus, a process of controlling the wavelength of the CW laser light oscillated by the CW laser light sources 51 and 52 is performed.
- the controller 53 can also drive / stop the CW laser light sources 51 and 52 as the operation state of the CW laser light sources 51 and 52.
- the CW laser light source 51 oscillates CW laser light with the oscillation frequency f 1
- the CW laser light source 52 oscillates CW laser light with the frequency f 2 .
- the frequencies f 1 and f 2 of the CW laser light oscillated by the CW laser light sources 51 and 52 are within the gain band of the optical fiber amplifier 6, and the difference between the frequency f 1 and the frequency f 2 is an optical fiber. It is assumed that the gain bandwidth of the stimulated Brillouin scattering generated in FIG.
- the controller 53 controls the frequency of the CW laser light oscillated by the CW laser light source 51 to be f 1 and the frequency of the CW laser light oscillated by the CW laser light source 52 to be f 2.

- the difference in Doppler shift (f d1 ⁇ f d2 ) is proportional to the difference in frequency of the CW laser light (f 1 ⁇ f 2 ) and the magnitude of the wind speed V.
- the difference between the Doppler shift f d1 and the Doppler shift f d2 is reduced by using the CW laser light sources 1 and 2 having a small difference between the frequency f 1 and the frequency f 2. Then, since the overlap of the frequency components of f d1 and f d2 can be increased, the overlap of the frequency components of the received signal can be obtained, and the strength of the received signal can be increased. ing.
- the coherent Doppler lidar apparatus it may be necessary to accurately measure the spectrum width of the received signal. For example, it is a case where the magnitude of the variation in the wind speed within the measurement range is evaluated from the spread of the spectrum width.
- the frequency components of the reception signal for each wavelength have an overlap, so that the spectrum width of the reception signal is widened.
- the measurement accuracy for the spectral width is reduced.
- the overlap of the frequency components of the received signal changes depending on the magnitude of the wind speed V, there arises a problem that the spectrum width varies.
- the controller 53 recognizes the spectrum width of the received signal from the information related to the target extracted by the signal processing device 11 so that the spectrum width is narrowed.
- the wavelength of the CW laser light oscillated by the CW laser light sources 51 and 52 is controlled by controlling the operating state of the CW laser light sources 51 and 52. For example, when the spectrum width of the received signal is wider than a predetermined width, the controller 53 sets the frequency of the CW laser light oscillated by the CW laser light source 51 and the frequency of the CW laser light oscillated by the CW laser light source 52.
- the frequency of the CW laser beam oscillated by the CW laser light source 51 is changed from f 1 to f 1 ', the received signal based on the received signal and the CW laser light source 52 based on the CW laser source 51 Try to eliminate the overlap.

- the measurement accuracy can be further improved by individually evaluating the spectrum width of the received signal with respect to each CW laser beam and performing the data averaging process or integration process.
- the oscillation frequencies of the CW laser light source 51 and the CW laser light source 52 are set. You may make it control simultaneously. Further, the operation of one CW laser light source may be stopped. When the operation of one of the CW laser light sources is stopped, the same spectral width measurement accuracy as that of a coherent Doppler lidar apparatus using only one normal CW laser light source can be obtained.
- the signal processing device 11 evaluates and determines the spectrum shape of the received signal with respect to the amount of change in the oscillation frequency of the CW laser light sources 51 and 52 and the operation state such as the CW laser light sources 51 and 52 being stopped. do it.
- the oscillation frequency of the two CW laser light sources 51 and 52 is within a range larger than the gain bandwidth of stimulated Brillouin scattering, as in the case of the first embodiment.

Abstract
Description
このようなレーザ光源として、例えば、DFB(Distributed Feed-Back)ファイバレーザや、DFB-LD(Laser Diode)などを利用することができる。
fd1=2V×(f1+fM)/c (1)
fd2=2V×(f2+fM)/c (2)
