Description
これらの重合性液晶材料を重合して成る各種薄膜では、適切な位相差、及びその均一性、更に低ヘイズ、耐熱性、機械的強度、及び基板への密着性等が求められる。加えて重合性コレステリック液晶材料を用いた輝度向上フィルムでは、高帯域の反射波長特性、及び高反射輝度も求められる。
しかしながら、低ヘイズ性、位相差の均一性(ムラの無い配向状態)、及び密着性については、両立することがこれまで困難であった。密着性については、特許文献2にオキシムエステル系光重合開始剤を用いる方法、特許文献3に重合性リン系化合物を含有する方法、特許文献4にアミノ基を含有するシランカップリング剤と、アルコール性の多官能分子とを共に添加する方法の記述があるが、特許文献2、及び特許文献3の手法では、密着性はまだ十分でなく、特許文献4の手法では、非液晶性化合物の添加量が多すぎて、液晶の転移点(Tni)が下がってしまう問題があった。溶媒を乾燥させる温度としては重合性液晶組成物のTni以下の温度で行うことが、均一性、ムラ現象回避のためには必須であるが、Tniが低くなると十分な高い乾燥温度条件を設定できないため、溶媒の揮発速度が適切でなくなり、ムラが生じやすくなってしまう。
また、溶剤への溶解性の向上も低ヘイズ、位相差の均一性、及びムラ現象回避の必須条件となる。溶剤への溶解性が悪いと、組成が不均一になり位相差、及び配向状態の均一性がなくなり、ムラが発生してしまう。更に重合性コレステリック液晶材料を用いる場合は、配向状態の不均一性でプレーナー配向状態からフォーカルコニック状態へ転じ、このフォーカルコニック状態が引き起こす光散乱効果によってヘイズが大きく上昇し、且つ部分的にフォーカルコニック状態が生じることでムラが発生するようになってしまっていた。

重合性官能基を少なくとも2つ以上もつ化合物は、重合後に架橋構造をとるため、薄膜の耐熱性、耐溶剤性等を得るために必要な材料である。ただし、この材料を多量に用いると重合収縮が大きくなり、基材に対しての密着性が低下してしまう。
この重合性官能基を少なくとも2つ以上もつ化合物は、少なくとも1つ以上の化合物が一般式(1)で表される化合物であり、一般式(1)で表せる化合物のみで構成されることが好ましい。

また、この重合性官能基を少なくとも2つ以上もつ化合物の含有量としては、5~30質量%であることが好ましく、8~24質量%であることが更に好ましく、10~19質量%であることが更により好ましく、10~15質量%であることが最も好ましい。
第2成分の調整は、本発明の目的である低ヘイズ且つムラの無い薄膜形成、及び液晶組成物としての所望の物性を得るために重要なポイントである。
第2成分としては、一般式(2)で表される化合物を含有するが、A4、A5、又はA6のいずれか1つ以上は2,6-ナフチレン基であることが好ましく、2,6-ナフチレン基を有することは、高Δn、高Tniにするためにも有用である。又、A1、A2、A3において、1,4-フェニレン基、又は2,6-ナフチレン基は置換基として1個又は2個以上のフッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基を有することができるが、置換基の存在は、溶媒への溶解性を高めるために有用である。
一般式(2)の中でも、A4として、2,6-ナフチレン基(該2,6-ナフチレン基は非置換であるか又は置換基として1個又は2個以上のフッ素原子、塩素原子、炭素原子数1~3のアルキル基(該アルキル基中の1個以上のメチレン基は酸素原子が相互に直接結合しないものとして、酸素原子、-CO-、-OCO-、-COO-で置換されていても良く、該アルキル基中の1つ以上の水素原子はフッ素原子に置換されていても良い)であること、又はA6が式(2-51)、又は(2-52)であることが好ましい。
より好ましくは、一般式(2)の化合物を2種類以上含有し、その中で少なくとも1種類以上の化合物中のA4、A5、又はA6のいずれか1つ以上が2,6-ナフチレン基(該2,6-ナフチレン基は、非置換であるか又は置換基として1個又は2個以上のフッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基を有することができる)であることである。更に好ましくは、一般式(2)の化合物を3種類以上含有し、その中で少なくとも1種類以上の化合物中のA4、A5、又はA6のいずれか1つ以上が2,6-ナフチレン基(該2,6-ナフチレン基は、非置換であるか又は置換基として1個又は2個以上のフッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基を有することができる)であることである。

一般式(2-5)~(2-21)の化合物の中でも、一般式(2-5)、(2-7)、(2-10)、(2-12)、(2-14)、(2-19)が好ましく、一般式(2-5)でR21、R22がメチル基、一般式(2-7)でR21がメチル基、エチル基、又はプロピル基でR22がメトキシ基、又は塩素原子、一般式(2-10)でR21、R22がメチル基、一般式(2-12)でR21がメチル基、エチル基、又はプロピル基でR22がメトキシ基、又は塩素原子、一般式(2-14)でR21、R22がメチル基、一般式(2-19)でR21が水素原子、メチル基、エチル基、又はプロピル基でR22がメトキシ基、又は塩素原子である化合物が特に好ましい。
第2成分の含有量としては、90~50質量%であることが好ましく、85~60質量%であることがより好ましく、83~65質量%であることが更により好ましく、80~70質量%であることが最も好ましい。また、一般式(2-1)で表される化合物が60~10質量%であり、一般式(2-2)~(2-4)で表される群から選ばれる化合物の合計が70~20質量%であることが好ましく、一般式(2-1)で表される化合物が40~20質量%であり、一般式(2-2)~(2-4)で表される群から選ばれる化合物の合計が70~20質量%であることが好ましく、60~40質量%であることがより好ましく、一般式(2-1)で表される化合物が30~20質量%であり、一般式(2-2)~(2-4)で表される群から選ばれる化合物の合計が60~50質量%であることが更により好ましい。
本願発明の重合性液晶組成物は第3成分として、重合開始剤を少なくとも1種類以上含有することが好ましい。
第3成分の重合開始剤は、本発明の重合性液晶組成物を効率よく重合させるために有用な化合物である。重合開始剤としては、光重合開始剤が好ましく、具体的には以下の物が好ましい。
BASF社のイルガキュア651、イルガキュア184、イルガキュア907、イルガキュア127、イルガキュア369、イルガキュア379、イルガキュア819、イルガキュアOXE01、イルガキュアOXE02、ルシリンTPO、ダロキュア1173。LAMBSON社のエサキュア1001M、エサキュアKIP150、スピードキュアBEM、スピードキュアBMS、スピードキュアPBZ、ベンゾフェノン。
重合開始剤の含有量としては2~10質量%が好ましく、3~7質量%がより好ましい。
本願発明の重合性液晶組成物は第4成分として、界面活性剤、又は一般式(3)

また、界面活性剤、及び一般式(3)で表される繰り返し単位を有する重量平均分子量が100以上である化合物は、それぞれ単独でも、複数用いてもよく、組み合わせて用いても良い。
界面活性剤、及び一般式(3)で表される繰り返し単位を有する重量平均分子量が100以上である化合物の添加量は、0.01~1質量%であることが好ましく、0.02~0.2質量%であることがより好ましい。
重合性液晶組成物を、重合性コレステリック液晶組成物とする場合は、第5成分としてキラル化合物を添加する。これは、選択反射波長を有するピッチを得るために必要な化合物である。このキラル化合物は重合性官能基を有することが好ましく、該重合性官能基はアクリル基、又はメタクリル基であることがより好ましい。
HTP(ヘリカルツイストパワー)としては、添加する組成系に対して、20以上が好ましく、30以上がより好ましく、45以上が更により好ましい。
具体的には、一般式(4-1)~(4-4)の化合物が好ましい。
キラルの含有量としては、3~10質量%が好ましく、3~7質量%がより好ましい。
その他の成分として、基材との密着性をより向上させるため、連鎖移動剤を添加することも好ましい。連鎖移動剤としては、チオール化合物が好ましく、モノチオール、ジチオール、トリチオール、テトラチオール化合物がより好ましく、トリチオール化合物が更により好ましい。具体的には一般式(5-1)~(5-4)、及び式(5-5)~(5-12)が好ましい。
チオール化合物の添加量としては、0.5~5.0質量%であることが好ましく、1.0~3.0質量%であることがより好ましい。
更に物性調整のため、重合性でない液晶化合物、あるいは液晶性のない重合性化合物等も必要に応じて添加することも可能である。これらの化合物の添加量としては、20質量%以下が好ましく、10質量%以下がより好ましく、5質量%以下が更により好ましい。
溶剤の比率は、本発明に用いられる重合性液晶組成物が通常塗布により行われることから、塗布した状態を著しく損なわない限りは特に制限はないが、重合性液晶組成物の固形分が10~60質量%であることが好ましく、20~50質量%であることがさらに好ましい。
次に、本発明の重合性液晶組成物を用いた薄膜の作製方法について説明する。通常、本発明の重合性液晶組成物は溶剤に溶解された溶液状態で使用され、基板等に該溶液を塗布した後、乾燥し、紫外線等により重合することによって、本発明の薄膜が得られる。
本発明の重合性液晶組成物を含有する溶液を塗布する基材は、液晶デバイス、ディスプレイ、光学部品や光学フィルムに通常使用する基材であって、本発明の重合性液晶組成物の塗布後の乾燥時、あるいは、液晶デバイス製造時における加熱に耐えうる耐熱性を有する材料であれば、特に制限はない。そのような基材としては、ガラス基材、金属基材、セラミックス基材やプラスチック基材等の有機材料が挙げられる。特に基材が有機材料の場合、セルロース誘導体、ポリオレフィン、ポリエステル、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリカーボネート、ポリアクリレート、ポリアリレート、ポリエーテルサルホン、ポリイミド、ポリフェニレンスルフィド、ポリフェニレンエーテル、ナイロン、又はポリスチレン等が挙げられる。また、光学的な付加価値をつけるために、基材がピックアップレンズ、ロッドレンズ、光ディスク、位相差フィルム、光拡散フィルム、カラーフィルター等であっても良い。さらに、上記基材には、本発明の重合性液晶組成物を塗布乾燥した際に重合性液晶組成物が配向しやすいように、配向処理を施しておいても良い。
乾燥した薄膜は、通常紫外線により重合処理が行われ、これにより配向状態が固定化される。高帯域の反射波長特性を得るため、紫外線重合過程において、適度な加熱処理、及び適度な紫外線照射量を選択しても良く、複数の条件を適宜組み合わせても良い。
実施例及び比較例に示す重合性液晶組成物を例で示した比率サンプル瓶に投入し、重合性液晶組成物の固形分に対して、質量で1.5倍量のシクロヘキサノンを加え、80~100℃のホットスターラーにて15分間加熱撹拌し、透明で均一な溶液を得た。次にラビング処理を施した100×100mmサイズのPETフィルムに重合性液晶組成物溶液を適量たらし、バーコーター(No.9)でPETフィルム上に塗布した。溶液が塗布されたPETフィルムを100℃の恒温層に3分間放置し、溶媒を乾燥除去させた後、該PETフィルムをUVA光の照度が450mJ/cm2となるようにセットしたコンベア式UV照射装置に投入し、重合性液晶組成物を硬化させ、可視光域に選択反射波長を有する薄膜を得た。
用いた化合物は以下の略号で表す。
チオールとして、SC有機化学社製3-メルカプトプロピオネート(TMMP)。光重合開始剤として、BASF社製イルガキュア907(Irg.907)。重合禁止剤として、和光純薬社製p-メトキシフェノール(MEHQ)。空気界面での液晶化合物のチルト角を減じるための化合物として、重量平均分子量が2000のポリプロピレン(PP)。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を5.0%、(B)を5.0%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(D)を29.0%、(F)を29.0%、(H)を29.0%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を2.8%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、その他の成分としてMEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜のヘイズは1.8%であり、ムラは無く、碁盤目試験では55マス残った。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を4.7%、(B)を4.7%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(D)を28.2%、(F)を28.2%、(H)を28.2%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を2.8%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、その他の成分としてTMMPを3.0%、MEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜のヘイズは1.8%であり、ムラは無く、碁盤目試験では全100マス残った。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を8.5%、(B)を3.6%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(D)を24.6%、(F)を27.4%、(H)を27.4%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、第5成分であるキラル化合物(Q)を5.3%、その他の成分としてMEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜のヘイズは1.7%であり、ムラは無く、碁盤目試験では50マス残った。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を8.0%、(B)を3.5%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(D)を24.0%、(F)を26.5%、(H)を26.5%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、第5成分であるキラル化合物(Q)を5.3%、その他の成分としてTMMPを3.0%、MEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜のヘイズは1.8%であり、ムラは無く、碁盤目試験では全100マス残った。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を4.5%、(B)を4.5%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(D)を26.5%、(G)を26.5%、(H)を26.5%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、第5成分であるキラル化合物(Q)を5.3%、その他の成分としてTMMPを3.0%、MEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜のヘイズは2.0%であり、ムラは無く、碁盤目試験では全100マス残った。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を4.2%、(C)を4.2%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(D)を31.0%、(H)を31.0%、(J)を18.0%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、第5成分であるキラル化合物(Q)を5.4%、その他の成分としてTMMPを3.0%、MEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜のヘイズは2.4%であり、ムラは無く、碁盤目試験では全100マス残った。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を8.0%、(C)を3.5%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(D)を24.0%、(H)を26.5%、(I)を26.5%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、第5成分であるキラル化合物(Q)を5.3%、その他の成分としてTMMPを3.0%、MEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜のヘイズは2.2%であり、ムラは無く、碁盤目試験では全100マス残った。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を4.5%、(C)を4.5%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(E)を26.8%、(G)を26.8%、(H)を26.8%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、第5成分であるキラル化合物(R)を4.4%、その他の成分としてTMMPを3.0%、MEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜のヘイズは1.8%であり、ムラは無く、碁盤目試験では全100マス残った。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を8.0%、(C)を3.5%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(D)を24.0%、(F)を27.0%、(H)を27.0%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、第5成分であるキラル化合物(S)を4.3%、その他の成分としてTMMPを3.0%、MEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜のヘイズは2.2%であり、ムラは無く、碁盤目試験では全100マス残った。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を4.5%、(B)を4.5%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(D)を40.0%、(H)を31.0%、(O)を8.0%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、第5成分であるキラル化合物(Q)を5.3%、その他の成分としてTMMPを3.0%、MEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜のヘイズは4.8%であり、ムラはほとんど無く、碁盤目試験では全100マス残った。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を28.9%、(C)を28.9%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(K)を20.0%、(N)を19.0%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、その他の成分としてMEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜のヘイズは5.8%であり、ムラが発生し、碁盤目試験では0マスと1マスも残らなかった。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を28.1%、(C)を28.1%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(K)を19.0%、(N)を18.6%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、その他の成分としてTMMPを3.0%、MEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜のヘイズは8.8%であり、ムラが発生し、碁盤目試験では0マスと1マスも残らなかった。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を28.0%、(C)を28.0%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(D)を32.1%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、第5成分であるキラル化合物(Q)を5.7%、その他の成分としてTMMPを3.0%、MEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜のヘイズは20.5%であり、ムラが発生し、碁盤目試験では0マスと1マスも残らなかった。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を28.0%、(C)を28.0%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(E)を16.0%、(L)を16.0%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、第5成分であるキラル化合物(Q)を5.8%、その他の成分としてTMMPを3.0%、MEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜のヘイズは2.5%であり、ムラも発生しなかったが、碁盤目試験では0マスと1マスも残らなかった。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を4.5%、(C)を4.5%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(D)を31.0%、(K)を35.0%、(M)を12.8%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、第5成分であるキラル化合物(Q)を6.0%、その他の成分としてTMMPを3.0%、MEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜は、碁盤目試験では全100マス残ったが、ヘイズは44.8%であり、ムラが発生した。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を4.5%、(C)を4.5%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(D)を26.2%、(L)を26.2%、(P)を26.2%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、第5成分であるキラル化合物(Q)を6.2%、その他の成分としてTMMPを3.0%、MEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜は、碁盤目試験では全100マス残ったが、ヘイズは56.8%であり、ムラが発生した。
第1成分である重合性液晶化合物(A)を4.5%、(C)を4.5%、第2成分である重合性液晶化合物(E)を31.0%、(O)を17.0%、(P)を31.0%、第3成分である重合開始剤Irg.907を3.0%、第4成分であるPPを0.1%、第5成分であるキラル化合物(Q)を5.8%、その他の成分としてTMMPを3.0%、MEHQを0.1%混合し、上述に示した方法で薄膜を得た。この薄膜は、碁盤目試験では全100マス残ったが、ヘイズは61.5%であり、ムラが発生した。
Claims (8)
- 第1成分として重合性官能基を少なくとも2つ以上もつ化合物を5~30質量%含有し、該重合性官能基を少なくとも2つ以上もつ化合物は少なくとも1つ以上が一般式(1)であり、
E1、及びE2は、それぞれ独立して炭素原子数1~15のアルキレン基を表し、該アルキレン基中に存在する1個又は2個以上のメチレン基は、酸素原子が相互に直接結合しないものとして、酸素原子、-CO-、-OCO-、-COO-、又は-CH=CH-で置換されていてもよく、
A1、A2、及びA3はそれぞれ独立して、1,4-フェニレン基、又は2,6-ナフチレン基を表し、該1,4-フェニレン基、又は2,6-ナフチレン基は非置換であるか又は置換基として1個又は2個以上のフッ素原子、塩素原子、又は炭素原子数1~3のアルキル基(該アルキル基中の1個以上のメチレン基は酸素原子が相互に直接結合しないものとして、酸素原子、-CO-、-OCO-、-COO-で置換されていても良く、該アルキル基中の1つ以上の水素原子はフッ素原子に置換されていても良い)を有することができるが、少なくともA1、A2、A3のいずれか一つは置換基を有し、
Z1、及びZ2はそれぞれ独立して、-COO-、-OCO-、-CH2CH2-、-COO-CH2CH2-、-OCO-CH2CH2-、-CH2CH2-COO-、-CH2CH2-OCO-、又は単結合を表す。)
第2成分として一般式(2)の化合物を少なくとも1種類以上
E3は、炭素原子数1~15のアルキレン基を表し、該アルキレン基中に存在する1個又は2個以上のメチレン基は、酸素原子が相互に直接結合しないものとして、酸素原子、-CO-、-OCO-、-COO-、又は-CH=CH-で置換されていてもよく、
A4、A5、及びA6はそれぞれ独立して、1,4-フェニレン基、又は2,6-ナフチレン基を表し、該1,4-フェニレン基、又は2,6-ナフチレン基は非置換であるか又は置換基として1個又は2個以上のフッ素原子、塩素原子、又は炭素原子数1~3のアルキル基(該アルキル基中の1個以上のメチレン基は酸素原子が相互に直接結合しないものとして、酸素原子、-CO-、-OCO-、-COO-で置換されていても良く、該アルキル基中の1つ以上の水素原子はフッ素原子に置換されていても良い)を有することができるが、少なくともA4、A5、又はA6のいずれか1つ以上は置換基を有し、
Z3、及びZ4はそれぞれ独立して、-COO-、-OCO-、-CH2CH2-、又は単結合を表し、
R1は、水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、シアノ基、又は炭素原子数1~15のアルキル基を表し、該アルキル基中に存在する1個又は2個以上のメチレン基は、酸素原子が相互に直接結合しないものとして、酸素原子、-CO-、-OCO-、-COO-、又は-CH=CH-で置換されていてもよい。)含有することを特徴とする重合性液晶組成物。 - 第5成分としてキラル化合物を含有する請求項2記載の重合性液晶組成物。
- 第6成分としてチオール化合物を含有する請求項1、2又は3のいずれか一項に記載の重合性液晶組成物。
- 第1成分が一般式(1-1)で表される請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の重合性液晶組成物。
E11、及びE12は、それぞれ独立して、炭素原子数1~13のアルキレン基を表し、該アルキレン基中に存在する1個又は2個以上のメチレン基は、酸素原子が相互に直接結合しないものとして、酸素原子、-CO-、-OCO-、-COO-、又は-CH=CH-で置換されていてもよく、
X1~X12はそれぞれ独立して、水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基を表すが、少なくとも1つ以上、3つ以下はフッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基であり、
Z11、及びZ12はそれぞれ独立して、-COO-、-OCO-、又は単結合を表す。) - 第2成分において、一般式(2)における、A4、A5、及びA6が1,4-フェニレン基であり、該1,4-フェニレン基はそれぞれ独立して非置換であるか又は置換基として1個又は2個以上のフッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基を有することができるが、少なくともA4、A5、又はA6のいずれか1つは1つ以上の置換基を有する化合物を少なくとも1種類以上と、一般式(2)における、A4、A5、又はA6のいずれか1つが2,6-ナフチレン基であり、残りの二つが1,4-フェニレン基であり、該2,6-ナフチレン基、及び1,4-フェニレン基はそれぞれ独立して非置換であるか又は置換基として1個又は2個以上のフッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基を有することができるが、少なくともA4、A5、又はA6のいずれか1つは1つ以上の置換基を有する化合物を少なくとも2種類以上含有する請求項1、2、3又は4いずれか一項に記載の重合性液晶組成物。
- 第2成分が一般式(2-1)で表される化合物を1種類以上と、一般式(2-2)~(2-4)からなる群から選ばれる化合物を少なくとも2種類以上含有する請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の重合性液晶組成物。
E21,E31,E41,及びE51は、それぞれ独立して、炭素原子数1~13のアルキレン基を表し、該アルキレン基中に存在する1個又は2個以上のメチレン基は、酸素原子が相互に直接結合しないものとして、酸素原子、-CO-、-OCO-、-COO-、又は-CH=CH-で置換されていてもよく、
Z21、Z22、Z31、Z32、Z41、Z42、Z51、及びZ52は、それぞれ独立して、-COO-、-OCO-、又は単結合を表し、
X13~X24は、それぞれ独立して、水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基を表すが、少なくとも1つ以上、3つ以下はフッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基であり、
X25~X39は、それぞれ独立して、水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基を表すが、少なくとも1つ以上、3つ以下はフッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基であり、
X40~X53は、それぞれ独立して、水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基を表すが、少なくとも1つ以上、3つ以下はフッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基であり、
X54~X68は、それぞれ独立して、水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基を表すが、少なくとも1つ以上、3つ以下はフッ素原子、塩素原子、メチル基、メトキシ基、CF3基、又はOCF3基であり、
R2~R5は、それぞれ独立して、水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、シアノ基、炭素原子数1~15のアルキル基を表し、該アルキル基中に存在する1個又は2個以上のメチレン基は、酸素原子が相互に直接結合しないものとして、酸素原子、-CO-、-OCO-、-COO-、又は-CH=CH-で置換されていてもよい。) - 請求項1~6いずれか一項に記載の重合性液晶組成物を重合してなる薄膜。
