この実施の形態では、建物火災のような緊急事態時におけるエレベータを用いる建物の避難方法と、エレベータ装置を利用した避難に必要な構成とを開示している。この避難方法は、予め指定されたエレベータ係員(LA:Lift Attendant)によって制御される。建物全体又は建物の一部からの避難が必要である火災緊急事態時に、エレベータ係員は、かご内からエレベータ装置を制御して避難運転を実行する。
さらにまた、追加情報として身体障害タイプを表示することにより、エレベータ係員が乗場で待つ乗客の身体障害タイプに応じて、より適切に対応することができる。
さらに、指定階乗場の数は特に限定されるものではない。
さらにまた、身体障害者呼びの追加情報は、身体障害タイプに限定されるものではなく、例えば、身体障害者の人数情報又は身体障害の度合いに関する情報等であってもよい。
