It can be seen that the particle size of about 3 nm before the heat treatment is increased by more than 20 nm after the heat treatment.
- the alloying degree was determined by the degree of shift of the Pt (111) peak, and the alloying degree was increased as the 2 ⁇ value was larger than the X-ray diffraction pattern of the commercial Pt / C catalyst.
- the Co ratio and the surface Pt: Co ratio were measured by ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) and XPS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy), respectively, and the results are shown in Table 2 below.
- the unit cell oxygen performance evaluation of the catalyst was also performed.
- Hydrogen 150 ccm was supplied to the anode and oxygen 150 ccm was supplied to the reduction electrode.
- the pressure was normal and the unit cell operating temperature was at 75 ° C.
- Performance evaluation was made with a current density value at 0.6 V.
- the effective active area of the catalyst measured by the CV experiment, one (Example 1) PtCo / C prepared with a silica coating method is 51.9 m 2 / g to room temperature, NaBH 4 reduction 42.9 m 2 / g, room temperature, NaBH 4 after reduction of It can be seen that greater than 12.6 m 2 / g of the catalyst subjected to 800 °C heat treatment (Comparative Example 2). This is because PtCo / C prepared by using the silica coating method increased the alloying degree at the high temperature heat treatment step and at the same time suppressed the grain size growth and maintained the uniform dispersion.
- the alloy catalyst prepared by the silica coating method (Example 1) showed the highest performance at 1.74 A / cm 2 at 0.6 V, and the catalyst prepared by the room temperature NaBH 4 reduction method was 1.42 at 0.6 V. A / cm 2 showed the performance.
- the transition metals on the alloy surface are mostly melted in the fuel cell driving environment due to the low equilibrium potential, which degrades the fuel cell performance.
- the alloy catalyst prepared by the silica coating method has the highest unit cell performance due to the increased activity of the catalyst due to the high alloying degree and the low surface ratio of Co.
- the catalyst subjected to heat treatment at 800 ° C. after the NaBH 4 reduction at room temperature (Comparative Example 2) showed the lowest performance of 1.08 A / cm 2 at 0.6 V due to the low active area.
- the electrode As the electrode, a gold plate coated with 1 mg / cm 2 of each catalyst was used, and 0.5 MH 2 SO 4 was used as the electrolyte. 0.4 V of hydrogen electrode was added for 120 hours, and the concentration of Co dissolved in the electrolyte was measured by ICP periodically.
- Figure 7 shows the amount of Co dissolved during ADT.
- the oxygen reduction current measured at 0.4 V constant voltage was shown, and it was confirmed that the oxygen reduction current decreased with time. It can be seen that there is a strong causal relationship between the amount of dissolved Co and the amount of reduced oxygen through the coincidence of the change of the oxygen reduction current value and the change of the amount of molten Co.
- the oxygen reduction current increases until the electrode is fully activated and reaches its maximum value, and then the oxygen reduction current starts to decrease and becomes constant within 120 hours. Melting of Co also occurs rapidly in the early ADTs and then begins to stabilize.
- the alloy catalyst prepared in the silica coating method (Example 1 above) was 9.8% of Co melted during ADT. This is a very small amount compared to 29.1% of the catalyst prepared by the room temperature NaBH 4 reduction method.
- the catalyst subjected to heat treatment at 800 ° C. after the NaBH 4 reduction method at room temperature (Comparative Example 2) melted only 0.7% of Co, because the active area was reduced due to the increase in particle size.
- the silica coating method according to the present invention is a suitable manufacturing method for producing a high performance, high durability catalyst for fuel cells.

Description
Chem.

실리카 전구체로는 TEOS(tetraethly orthosilicate), TMOS(tetramethyl orthosilicate), TBOS(tetrabuthyl orthosilicate) 또는 이들을 조합한 것을 사용함이 바람직하고, 실리카 졸-겔 반응의 촉매로는 암모니아수(NH4OH), 수산화나트륨(NaOH) 또는 수산화칼륨(KOH)의 염기성 화합물을 사용하는 것이 바람직하다.
<실시예>
| PtCo/C 제조방법 | (111) peak in XRD | |

CV(Cyclic Voltammetry) 시험 및 단위전지 산소 성능평가
| PtCo/C 제조방법 | Active surface area in CV (m2/g) | Current density@ 0.6 V (A/cm2) |
5. ADT (Accelerated Durability Test)
