- FIG. 7 shows the flow of how to hold the portable terminal device 10 in the first embodiment of the present invention.
- the touch sensor processing unit 41 monitors the contact states of the upper touch sensor 42, the right touch sensor 43, the lower touch sensor 44, and the left touch sensor 45, and any one of the touch sensors 42, 43, 44, It is confirmed whether or not there is a change in the contact state 45 (step S11).
- the check of the change in the contact state is repeated.
- the holding method determination process of the mobile terminal device 10 is performed according to the table of FIG. 6 (step S12).
- the holding method is the left hand holding
- the operation method determination result is the right hand operation (or both-hands operation)
- the portable terminal device 10 is determined as the lower touch sensor side in the vertical direction determination. That is, it is determined that the portable terminal device 10 is held upside down in a left-handed manner as shown in FIG.
- step S12 when the result of the holding method determination process in step S12 cannot be determined (step S12: NO), it shows a state where the holding method of the mobile terminal device 10 is not fixed or is not normal. Therefore, the display content of the display 22 is not changed. Therefore, the process returns to the touch sensor contact state determination process in step S11 again.
- step S12 when the result of the way determination process in step S12 is other than determination impossible (step S12: YES), the touch sensor processing unit 41 makes a determination result (respectively as shown in FIG. 6) to the display processing unit 21. According to the holding method, operation method, and vertical direction), an instruction to display a UI (user interface) for operating the touch panel 32 is given (step S13).
- the operation method is other than the thumb operation, it is possible to easily touch any position on the screen of the touch panel 32 regardless of whether the holding method is right hand holding, left hand holding or both hands holding.
