特許文献1に従って、ガスセンサを得た。具体的には、800ナノメートルの厚みを有するSiGe薄膜を、アルミナ基板上にスパッタリング法により形成した。当該アルミナ基板は、長さ20ミリメートル、幅10ミリメートル、厚み0.5ミリメートルであった。SiGe薄膜の両端にインジウム薄膜を貼り付け、電極を形成した。さらに、図17に示すように、SiGe薄膜の表面の半分に触媒層を塗布した。当該触媒層は実施例1Aのそれと同じように形成された。

記憶部;および
演算部、ここで
前記ガスセンサは、触媒層およびパイプ形状の熱発電デバイスを具備し、
前記パイプ形状の熱発電デバイスは、以下を具備し、
前記パイプ形状の熱発電デバイスの軸方向に沿った内部貫通孔、
金属からなる複数の第1カップ状部材、
熱電変換材料からなる複数の第2カップ状部材、
第1電極、および
第2電極、ここで、
前記複数の第1カップ状部材および前記複数の第2カップ状部材は前記軸方向に沿って交互に繰り返し配置されており、
前記第1電極および前記第2電極は、それぞれ、前記パイプ形状の熱発電デバイスの一端および他端に設けられており、
各第1カップ状部材は第1内面および第1外面を具備し、
各第1カップ状部材は下端に第1貫通孔を具備し、
各第1カップ状部材の断面積は、その下端の方向に減少しており、
各第2カップ状部材は第2内面および第2外面を具備し、
各第2カップ状部材は下端に第2貫通孔を具備し、
各第2カップ状部材の断面積は、その下端の方向に減少しており、
前記内部貫通孔は、複数の第1貫通孔および複数の第2貫通孔から構成されており、
各第1カップ状部材の第1外面が、隣接する一方の第2カップ状部材の第2内面に密着するように、各第1カップ状部材は前記隣接する一方の第2カップ状部材に挿入されており、
各第1カップ状部材の第1内面が、隣接する他方の第2カップ状部材の第2外面に密着するように、前記隣接する他方の第2カップ状部材は各第1カップ状部材に挿入されており、そして
前記触媒層は、前記内部貫通孔の内面に設けられており、そして
前記記憶部は、前記第1電極および前記第2電極の間に生じた電圧差と、前記ガスの濃度との間の関係を記憶し、
前記演算部は、前記第1電極および前記第2電極の間に電気的に接続されており、
前記演算部は、前記記憶部を参照しながら、前記第1電極および前記第2電極の間に生じた電圧差に基づいて前記ガスの濃度を算出する。 - 請求項44のガス濃度測定器であって、
前記ガスの濃度が前記電圧差に比例する。 - 請求項44のガス濃度測定器であって、
前記金属は、ニッケル、コバルト、銅、アルミ、銀、金、またはこれらの合金である。 - 請求項46のガス濃度測定器であって、
前記金属は、ニッケル、コバルト、銅、またはアルミである。 - 請求項44のガス濃度測定器であって、
前記熱電変換材料は、Bi、Bi2Te3、またはPbTeである。 - 請求項44のガス濃度測定器であって、
前記熱電変換材料は、SbまたはSeを含有する、Bi2Te3である。 - 請求項44のガス濃度測定器であって、
各第1カップ状部材の第1外面は、前記隣接する一方の第2カップ状部材の第2内面に接しており、そして
各第1カップ状部材の第1内面は、前記隣接する他方の第2カップ状部材の第2外面に接している。 - 請求項44のガス濃度測定器であって、
各第1カップ状部材の第1外面および前記隣接する一方の第2カップ状部材の第2内面の間にハンダが供給されており、そして
各第1カップ状部材の第1内面および前記隣接する他方の第2カップ状部材の第2外面の間にハンダが供給されている。 - 請求項44のガス濃度測定器であって、以下の数式が充足される:
5度≦θ1≦45度
5度≦θ2≦45度、および
θ1=θ2

前記触媒層は、白金またはパラジウムを含有するセラミックスからなる。 - 請求項54のガス濃度測定器であって、

前記パイプ形状の熱発電デバイスは、以下を具備し、
前記パイプ形状の熱発電デバイスの軸方向に沿った内部貫通孔、
金属からなる複数の第1カップ状部材、
熱電変換材料からなる複数の第2カップ状部材、
第1電極、および
第2電極、ここで、
前記複数の第1カップ状部材および前記複数の第2カップ状部材は前記軸方向に沿って交互に繰り返し配置されており、
前記第1電極および前記第2電極は、それぞれ、前記パイプ形状の熱発電デバイスの一端および他端に設けられており、
各第1カップ状部材は第1内面および第1外面を具備し、
各第1カップ状部材は下端に第1貫通孔を具備し、
各第1カップ状部材の断面積は、その下端の方向に減少しており、
各第2カップ状部材は第2内面および第2外面を具備し、
各第2カップ状部材は下端に第2貫通孔を具備し、
各第2カップ状部材の断面積は、その下端の方向に減少しており、
前記内部貫通孔は、複数の第1貫通孔および複数の第2貫通孔から構成されており、
各第1カップ状部材の第1外面が、隣接する一方の第2カップ状部材の第2内面に密着するように、各第1カップ状部材は前記隣接する一方の第2カップ状部材に挿入されており、
各第1カップ状部材の第1内面が、隣接する他方の第2カップ状部材の第2外面に密着するように、前記隣接する他方の第2カップ状部材は各第1カップ状部材に挿入されており、そして
前記触媒層は、前記内部貫通孔の内面に設けられている。 - 請求項59のガスセンサであって、
前記金属は、ニッケル、コバルト、銅、アルミ、銀、金、またはこれらの合金である。 - 請求項60のガスセンサであって、

各第1カップ状部材の第1外面および前記隣接する一方の第2カップ状部材の第2内面の間にハンダが供給されており、そして
各第1カップ状部材の第1内面および前記隣接する他方の第2カップ状部材の第2外面の間にハンダが供給されている。 - 請求項59のガスセンサであって、以下の数式が充足される:
