Abstract

본 발명은 코크스 오븐에서 발생하는 폐열을 이용하여 고온 탄소를 이산화탄소 및/또는 물과 반응시켜 코크스 오븐 가스(coke oven gas, COG)를 증량시키는 방법에 관한 것으로서, 보다 구체적으로는 코크스 오븐의 탄화실에서 코크스 오븐 가스(COG) 스트림에 이산화탄소, 물 또는 이들의 혼합물인 가스화제를 공급하는 단계; 및 상기 가스화제를 탄화실 내의 탄소와 반응시켜 탄소를 가스화하는 단계를 포함하는 코크스 오븐 가스의 증량방법 및 이에 적합한 코크스 오븐 장치를 제공한다.
