- the planetary ball 24 and the support shaft 25 penetrating through the central portion and the tilting arm portions 26 are held so as not to move in the axial direction of the stator shaft 14.
- a carrier 28 for the holding is provided. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 4, the carrier 28 is a bowl-shaped member configured by connecting a pair of left and right disk parts 29 by a plurality of connecting shafts 30. Radiation grooves 31 having substantially the same width as the tilting arm portions 26 described above and the same number as the tilting arm portions 26 are formed on the surfaces facing each other from the central portion to the outer peripheral edge. - One end portion of the output shaft 13 protrudes outside the outer case 6, and on the other hand, a flange portion 37 extending outward in the radial direction is integrally formed with the other end portion inside the outer case 6. Is formed.
- the outer diameter of the flange portion 37 is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the rotor 5, and is substantially the same outer diameter as the input disk 32 and the output disk 33 described above.
- a cylindrical portion extending toward the output disc 33 through the outer peripheral side of the carrier 28 described above is provided on the outer peripheral portion of the flange portion 37, and the tip end surface of the cylindrical portion and the output disc 33 are provided.
- a cam mechanism 35 is disposed between the rear surface and the rear surface.
- cam mechanisms 34 and 35 are for generating axial thrust based on torque, and their principle configuration is as shown in FIG. is there. That is, the first rotating member 38 and the second rotating member 39 that are to transmit torque to each other are arranged opposite to each other on the same axis, and at least one of the mutually opposing surfaces of the rotating members 38 and 39 is disposed on the surface.
- a cam surface 40 inclined toward the circumferential direction is formed so that the interval between the rotating members 38 and 39 is gradually narrowed. In other words, the thickness of at least one of the rotating members is gradually increased in the circumferential direction.
- a cam roller 41 is sandwiched between the rotating members 38 and 39 in which the mutual distance gradually changes in the circumferential direction.
- torque is generated in the rotor 5 by flowing a controlled alternating current through the stator coil 4. Since the rotor 5 is rotatably supported by the bearings 11 and 12, the rotor 5 rotates when torque is applied. In this case, since the cam mechanism 34 is provided between the relatively short flange portion (the right flange portion in FIG. 1) 9 and the input disk 32, the rotor 5 and the input disk 32 are separated by the cam mechanism 34. Both are coupled so as to rotate together, and an axial thrust according to the torque of the rotor 5 is generated to press the input disk 32 against the planetary ball 24.
- the output disk 33 and the output shaft 13 are connected so as to rotate together by the cam mechanism 35.
- an axial thrust according to the torque of the output disk 33 is generated and the output disk 33 is pressed against the planetary ball 24, and a transmission torque capacity according to the contact pressure is secured.
- the torque of the rotor 5 is transmitted to the output shaft 13 via the continuously variable transmission mechanism 3, and the torque is output from the output shaft 13 to a predetermined external device.
- the torque transmitted from the rotor 5 to the output shaft 13 as described above is a torque corresponding to the transmission torque capacity in the continuously variable transmission mechanism 3, and the transmission torque capacity mainly includes the planetary ball 24, the input disk 32, and the output. It depends on the contact pressure with the disk 33. Therefore, when the planetary ball 24 is made of a magnetic material, an attractive force by a permanent magnet provided on the rotor 5 acts on the planetary ball 24, and the planetary ball 24 is caused to move to the input disk 32 and the output by the magnetic attractive force. Since it is pressed against the disk 33, the contact pressure increases, and the transmission torque capacity of the continuously variable transmission mechanism 3 can be increased.
- the torque appearing on the output shaft 13 is a torque obtained by increasing or decreasing the torque of the rotor 5 according to the gear ratio by the continuously variable transmission mechanism 3.
- the gear ratio in the continuously variable transmission mechanism 3 depends on the tilt angle at which the planetary ball 24 tilts together with the support shaft 25. That is, when the radius of the input disk 32 and the output disk 33 is the same, if the support shaft 25 is parallel to the stator shaft 14, the rotational radius of the planetary ball 24 at the location where the input disk 32 is in contact (The radius from the rotation center of the planetary ball 24) and the rotation radius of the planetary ball 24 (the radius from the rotation center of the planetary ball 24) where the output disk 33 is in contact with each other are the same. It becomes “1”.
- the operation of tilting the planetary ball 24 together with the support shaft 25 is performed by rotating the shift shaft 16 described above by a shift device such as a motor or a link mechanism (not shown). That is, when the shift shaft 16 rotates, the shift key 18 screwed into the male screw portion 17 moves in the axial direction by the action of the screw. Since the shift key 18 is engaged with the bearing member 21, the bearing member 21 moves in the axial direction together with the shift key 18.
- the left and right side surfaces of the bearing member 21 are convex curved surfaces 27, where the tilting arm portion 26 is in point contact or line contact, and the tilting arm portion 26 is held so as to tilt without moving in the axial direction.
- the tilting arm portion 26 is caused by a force directed obliquely outward generated at the contact portion between the tilted surface and the convex curved surface 27. Tilts. That is, the support shaft 25 and the planetary ball 24 rotatably supported by the support shaft 25 are tilted together with the tilting arm portion 26, and a gear ratio corresponding to the tilt angle is set.
- the electric motor 1 according to the present invention can increase and decrease the torque generated in the rotor 5 according to the speed ratio that can be changed steplessly (continuously) and output the torque from the output shaft 13. .
- the rotation speed of the output shaft 13 is constant, the rotation speed of the rotor 5 can be appropriately set according to the gear ratio of the continuously variable transmission mechanism 3. Therefore, according to the electric motor 1 according to the present invention, it is possible to set the rotational speed of the rotor 5 to an energy efficient rotational speed obtained from a characteristic diagram or the like.
- the motor unit 2 that generates torque by flowing current and the continuously variable transmission mechanism 3 that can change the gear ratio for increasing or decreasing the torque steplessly are arranged concentrically, and a single outer case 6 is arranged. Since it can be set as the structure accommodated in the inside, it is easy to make the whole structure compact.
- the electric motor 1 according to the present invention can be used for various applications by taking advantage of the above-described advantages.
- it can be used as an in-wheel motor for a vehicle, an example of which is schematically shown in FIG.
- reference numeral 43 denotes a vehicle wheel
- a tire 44 is attached to the wheel 43.
- a through hole is formed at the center of the wheel 43, and the wheel 43 is attached to the output shaft 13 of the electric motor 1 by fitting the output shaft 13 into the through hole.
- the electric motor 1 is fixed to a vehicle body (not shown).
- the electric motor 1 is attached to the vehicle body by joining the end plate portion 8 in the outer case 6 described above to an appropriate portion of the vehicle body.
- stator shaft 14 has a structure shown in FIG. 8, for example.
- the outer diameter d 1 of the portion protruding from the carrier 28 is set to be larger than the outer diameter d 2 on the end side fixed to the outer case 6.
- a flange portion 45 that is in close contact with the side surface of the carrier 28 is formed on the large diameter side portion. Therefore, with the configuration shown in FIG. 8, the outer diameter of the portion of the stator shaft 14 that protrudes from the carrier 28 and is subjected to a bending load is large and the rigidity thereof is increased, so that the support rigidity of the stator shaft 14 is improved. Can do.
- this invention is not limited to the specific example mentioned above,
- the thing of structures other than a synchronous motor may be sufficient as a motor part.
- one disk that is in contact with the planetary ball supported by the idle roller is used as an input member, and the other disk is used as an output member. Since this is a so-called three-element transmission mechanism having a total of three rotating elements, that is, a roller and two discs, one of these three rotating elements is used as an idler and one of the other two rotating elements. One of them may be an input element, and the other may be an output element.
