本発明において、ポリアミド樹脂(A)は、好ましくは、ポリアミド樹脂100質量部に対してポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)0.05~5質量部を、ポリアミド樹脂の融点以上で溶融ブレンドさせて得られる変性ポリアミド樹脂(A′)である。
本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物は、好ましくは、さらにエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)を含む。
本発明において、ポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)は、好ましくは、単官能エポキシ化合物である。
本発明において、ポリアミド樹脂(A)は、好ましくは、ナイロン6またはナイロン666である。
本発明において、酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する変性ゴム(B)は、好ましくは、エチレン−α−オレフィン共重合体またはエチレン−不飽和カルボン酸共重合体もしくはその誘導体である。
本発明において、酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する変性ゴム(B)は、好ましくは、ポリアミド樹脂(A)100質量部に対して、90~180質量部である。
本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物がエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)を含む場合は、ポリアミド樹脂(A)とエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)の質量比は、好ましくは、90/10~10/90であり、酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する変性ゴム(B)は、好ましくは、ポリアミド樹脂(A)とエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)の合計量100質量部に対して90~180質量部である。

本発明の積層体は、好ましくは、さらに粘接着剤層を含む。
本発明の積層体は、好ましくは、ゴム組成物シート中のポリマー成分のうち、ハロゲン化ブチルゴムが30~100質量%である。

さらに、ポリアミド樹脂(A)としてポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)で変性したポリアミド樹脂を用いることにより、ポリアミド樹脂(A)と変性ゴム(B)の混合中に起こる変性ゴム(B)とポリアミド中末端アミノ基の反応が抑制されるため、より効果的にマトリックス樹脂と変性ゴム分散相の界面に水素結合を形成させることが可能となる。これにより、フィルム成形性を悪化させることなく、熱可塑性樹脂組成物の低温耐久性をより向上させることができる。
また、本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物からなるフィルムおよび該フィルムを含む積層体は、タイヤのインナーライナーやホースなど、低温耐久性が要求される用途に用いることができる。
ポリアミド樹脂(A)は、限定するものではないが、ナイロン11、ナイロン12、ナイロン6、ナイロン66、ナイロン666、ナイロン612、ナイロン610、ナイロン46、ナイロン66612、および芳香族ナイロンが単独でまたは混合物として使用できる。なかでも、ナイロン6およびナイロン666が耐疲労性とガスバリヤ性の両立という点で好ましい。
本発明に用いる変性ゴム(B)は、酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する。ポリアミド樹脂との相溶性という観点から、特に好ましくは、変性ゴム(B)は酸無水物基を有する。
変性ゴム(B)を構成するゴムとしては、エチレン−α−オレフィン共重合体、またはエチレン−不飽和カルボン酸共重合体もしくはその誘導体などが挙げられる。エチレン−α−オレフィン共重合体としては、エチレン−プロピレン共重合体、エチレン−ブテン共重合体、エチレン−ヘキセン共重合体、エチレン−オクテン共重合体などが挙げられる。エチレン−不飽和カルボン酸共重合体もしくはその誘導体としては、エチレン−アクリル酸共重合体、エチレン−メタクリル酸共重合体、エチレン−アクリル酸メチル共重合体、エチレン−メタクリル酸メチル共重合体などが挙げられる。
酸無水物基を有する変性ゴムは、たとえば、酸無水物とペルオキシドをゴムに反応させることにより製造することができる。また、酸無水物基を有する変性ゴムは、市販されており、市販品を用いることができる。市販品としては、三井化学株式会社製無水マレイン酸変性エチレン−プロピレン共重合体(タフマー(登録商標)MP−0620)、無水マレイン酸変性エチレン−ブテン共重合体(タフマー(登録商標)MP−7020)などがある。
エポキシ基を有する変性ゴムは、たとえば、グリシジルメタクリレートをゴムに共重合させることにより製造することができる。また、エポキシ基を有する変性ゴムは、市販されており、市販品を用いることができる。市販品としては、住友化学株式会社製エポキシ変性エチレンアクリル酸メチル共重合体(エスプレン(登録商標)EMA2752)などがある。
特に好ましい変性ゴム(B)は、酸無水物基でグラフト変性されたエチレン−α−オレフィン共重合体であり、その例としては、前述の三井化学株式会社製無水マレイン酸変性エチレン−プロピレン共重合体(タフマー(登録商標)MP−0620)がある。
熱可塑性樹脂組成物中のポリアミド樹脂(A)と変性ゴム(B)の比率は、ポリアミド樹脂(A)100質量部に対して、好ましくは、変性ゴム(B)が90~180質量部であり、より好ましくは95~160質量部である。変性ゴム(B)の比率が少なすぎると、低温耐久性に劣り、逆に多すぎると、溶融時の流動性が極端に低下し、フィルム製膜性が大幅に悪化する。本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物においては、ポリアミド樹脂(A)が連続相を形成し、変性ゴム(B)が分散相を形成していることが好ましい。
本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物においては、変性ゴム(B)は酸無水物基またはエポキシ基と反応する官能基およびアミド結合または水酸基と水素結合し得る官能基を有する水素結合性化合物(C)で変性されている。水素結合性化合物(C)で変性することにより、マトリックスを形成する樹脂と変性ゴム分散相の界面が水素結合により補強されるため、フィルム成形性を悪化させることなく、熱可塑性樹脂組成物の低温耐久性を向上させることができる。水素結合性化合物(C)による変性は、酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する変性ゴムを水素結合性化合物(C)とともに溶融ブレンドすることによって行なうことができる。溶融ブレンドの温度は、ポリアミド樹脂(A)の融点以上の温度であるが、好ましくはポリアミド樹脂の融点より20℃高い温度、たとえば200~250℃である。溶融ブレンドの時間は、通常、1~10分、好ましくは2~5分である。
酸無水物基またはエポキシ基と反応する官能基およびアミド結合または水酸基と水素結合し得る官能基を有する水素結合性化合物(C)としては、酸無水物基またはエポキシ基と反応する官能基として、アミノ基、水酸基、カルボキシル基またはメルカプト基を有し、かつアミド結合または水酸基と水素結合し得る官能基として、スルホン基、カルボニル基、エーテル結合、水酸基または含窒素複素環を有する化合物が挙げられるが、なかでも酸無水物基またはエポキシ基と反応する官能基としてアミノ基および/または水酸基を有し、かつアミド結合または水酸基と水素結合し得る官能基としてスルホン基、カルボニル基および/または含窒素複素環を有する化合物が好ましい。酸無水物基またはエポキシ基と反応する官能基としてアミノ基および/または水酸基を有し、かつアミド結合または水酸基と水素結合し得る官能基としてスルホン基、カルボニル基および/または含窒素複素環を有する化合物としては、3,3′−ジアミノジフェニルスルホン、4,4′−ジアミノジフェニルスルホン、1,3−ビス(3−アミノフェノキシ)ベンゼン、3,3′−ジアミノ−4,4′−ジヒドロキシジフェニルスルホン、(4−(4−アミノベンゾイル)オキシフェニル)4−アミノベンゾエート、3−アミノ−1,2,4−トリアゾール、トリス(2−ヒドロキシエチル)イソシアヌレートなどが挙げられるが、なかでも3,3′−ジアミノジフェニルスルホン、トリス(2−ヒドロキシエチル)イソシアヌレート、3−アミノ−1,2,4−トリアゾールが、コスト、安全性、低温耐久性の向上の観点で好ましい。
水素結合性化合物(C)としてアミノ基を2個以上有する化合物を用いた場合は、その化合物は架橋剤としても機能し、変性ゴムと該化合物を溶融ブレンドすることによって、変性ゴムが動的架橋され、変性ゴム相の粘度が樹脂相に対してさらに増大するため、変性ゴム相の島相化を促進し、熱可塑性組成物中の変性ゴムの分散状態を固定する効果もあると考えられる。その結果、変性ゴムの微分散が維持され、変性ゴムを高充填しても流動性を維持し、フィルム製膜が可能であり、かつ低温耐久性に優れる熱可塑性樹脂組成物を得ることができる。
酸無水物基またはエポキシ基と反応する官能基およびアミド結合または水酸基と水素結合し得る官能基を有する水素結合性化合物(C)の量は、変性ゴム(B)100質量部に対して0.1~5質量部が好ましく、より好ましくは0.5~3質量部である。水素結合性化合物(C)の量が少なすぎると、水素結合によるマトリックス樹脂と分散ゴムとの界面補強性が不十分となり、変性ゴム(B)の微分散を維持できず、耐久性、ガスバリヤ性が低下する。逆に、水素結合性化合物(C)の量が多すぎても、耐久性が低下するため、好ましくない。
本発明に使用するポリアミド樹脂(A)は、好ましくは、ポリアミド樹脂100質量部に対してポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)0.05~5質量部を、ポリアミド樹脂の融点以上で溶融ブレンドさせて得られる変性ポリアミド樹脂(A′)である。
ポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)としては、単官能エポキシ化合物、イソシアネート基含有化合物、酸無水物基含有化合物、ハロゲン化アルキル基含有化合物などが挙げられるが、ポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基との反応性という観点で、好ましくは、単官能エポキシ化合物である。

ポリアミド樹脂とポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)を溶融ブレンドする方法は、特に限定されないが、たとえば、ポリアミド樹脂とポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)を2軸混練機に投入し、ポリアミド樹脂の融点以上、好ましくは融点より20℃以上高い温度で、たとえば240℃で溶融ブレンドする。溶融ブレンドする時間は、たとえば、1~10分、好ましくは2~5分である。
ポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)として単官能エポキシ化合物を溶融ブレンドした場合は、ポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基に単官能エポキシ化合物
が結合し、たとえば末端アミノ基は次のように変化する。
この反応により、ポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基は消滅または減少するので、酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する変性ゴム(B)を高充填しても流動性を維持し、フィルム製膜が可能になる。
ポリアミド樹脂の変性に用いるポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)の量は、ポリアミド樹脂100質量部に対して0.05~5質量部であり、好ましくは1~3質量部である。ポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)の量が少なすぎると、変性ゴム(B)を高充填した際の流動性改善効果が小さいため好ましくない。逆に、多すぎると、ポリアミド樹脂の低温耐久性(繰り返し疲労性)を悪化させるので好ましくない。
本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物は、さらに、エチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)を含むことが好ましい。エチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体を配合することにより、熱可塑性樹脂組成物のガスバリヤ性を向上させることができる。使用するエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体は、特に限定されるものでなく、市販のものを使用することができ、たとえば株式会社クラレ製EVAL、日本合成化学工業株式会社製ソアノールを使用することができる。
本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物がエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)を含む場合は、ポリアミド樹脂(A)とエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)の質量比は90/10~10/90であることが好ましく、より好ましくは80/20~20/80である。エチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)が少ないとガスバリヤ性の向上がほとんど見られず、逆に多いと低温耐久性が極端に悪化するため好ましくない。
本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物がエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)を含む場合は、変性ゴム(B)の配合量は、ポリアミド樹脂(A)とエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)の合計量100質量部に対して90~180質量部であることが好ましく、より好ましくは95~160質量部である。変性ゴム(B)の比率が少なすぎると、低温耐久性に劣り、逆に多すぎると、溶融時の流動性が極端に低下し、フィルム製膜性が大幅に悪化する。
本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物は、ポリアミド樹脂(A)および変性ゴム(B)を溶融ブレンドすることによって製造することができる。本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物がエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)を含む場合は、ポリアミド樹脂(A)、エチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)および変性ゴム(B)を溶融ブレンドすることによって本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物を製造することができる。
また、あらかじめ水素結合性化合物(C)で変性された変性ゴム(B)を用いずに、ポリアミド樹脂(A)、水素結合性化合物(C)で変性されていない酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する変性ゴム(以下「変性ゴム(BO)」ともいう。)、および水素結合性化合物(C)を溶融ブレンドすることによって本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物を製造することもできる。本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物がエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)を含む場合は、ポリアミド樹脂(A)、エチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)、変性ゴム(BO)、および水素結合性化合物(C)を溶融ブレンドすることによって本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物を製造することもできる。
水素結合性化合物(C)の添加の時期は、ポリアミド樹脂(A)と変性ゴム(BO)の溶融ブレンドと同時でもよいし、ポリアミド樹脂(A)と変性ゴム(BO)の溶融ブレンドの後でもよい。すなわち、ポリアミド樹脂(A)、変性ゴム(BO)および水素結合性化合物(C)を同時に溶融ブレンドしてもよいし、ポリアミド樹脂(A)と変性ゴム(BO)を溶融ブレンドし、変性ゴム(BO)が十分に分散したところで、水素結合性化合物(C)を加え、さらに溶融ブレンドしてもよい。好ましくは、ポリアミド樹脂(A)と変性ゴム(BO)を溶融ブレンドし、変性ゴム(BO)が十分に分散したところで、水素結合性化合物(C)を加え、さらに溶融ブレンドする。
溶融ブレンドの温度は、ポリアミド樹脂の融点以上の温度であるが、好ましくはポリアミド樹脂の融点より20℃高い温度、たとえば200~250℃である。溶融ブレンドの時間は、通常、1~10分、好ましくは2~5分である。
ポリアミド樹脂(A)として変性ポリアミド樹脂(A′)を用いる場合には、あらかじめポリアミド樹脂100質量部とポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)0.05~5質量部を溶融ブレンドして変性ポリアミド樹脂(A′)を調製し、その変性ポリアミド樹脂(A′)を、あらかじめ水素結合性化合物(C)で変性した変性ゴム(B)とともに溶融ブレンドするか、あるいは変性ポリアミド樹脂(A′)を、変性ゴム(BO)および水素結合性化合物(C)とともに溶融ブレンドすることによって本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物を製造することができる。
本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物がエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)を含む場合は、エチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)は、好ましくは、ポリアミド樹脂(A)または変性ポリアミド樹脂(A′)と同時に配合する。
可塑剤を添加する場合において、可塑剤を添加する時期は、特に限定されないが、好ましくは、あらかじめポリアミド樹脂(A)または変性ポリアミド樹脂(A′)に添加し混練しておく。
本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物の典型的な製造方法は、たとえば、次のとおりである。
まず、ポリアミド樹脂、ポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)および可塑剤を、2軸混練機で設定温度200~250℃で1~10分間混練して変性ポリアミド樹脂(A′)を作製し、次に作製した変性ポリアミド樹脂(A′)と変性ゴム(BO)を設定温度200~250℃の2軸混練機に投入し、変性ゴム(BO)が分散したところで、水素結合性化合物(C)を投入して変性ゴム(BO)を変性し、最後にその他の配合剤を加える。
本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物がエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)を含む場合は、たとえば、ポリアミド樹脂、ポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)および可塑剤を、2軸混練機で設定温度200~250℃で1~10分間混練して変性ポリアミド樹脂(A′)を作製し、次に作製した変性ポリアミド樹脂(A′)、エチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)および変性ゴム(BO)を設定温度200~250℃の2軸混練機に投入し、変性ゴム(BO)が分散したところで、水素結合性化合物(C)を投入して変性ゴム(BO)を変性し、最後にその他の配合剤を加える。
本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物には、前記した成分に加えて、カーボンブラックやシリカなどのその他の補強剤(フィラー)、加硫または架橋剤、加硫又は架橋促進剤、可塑剤、各種オイル、老化防止剤などの樹脂およびゴム組成物用に一般的に配合されている各種添加剤を配合することができる。これらの添加剤の配合量は本発明の目的に反しない限り、従来の一般的な配合量とすることができる。
本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物は、T型ダイス付きの押出機や、インフレーション成形機などでフィルムとすることができる。そのフィルムは、ガスバリヤ性、耐熱性、耐屈曲疲労性に優れるため、空気入りタイヤのインナーライナーとして好適に使用することができる。また、そのフィルムは、ジエン成分を含むゴム組成物シートと積層して、積層体とすることができる。
本発明の積層体は、前記熱可塑性樹脂組成物のフィルムを少なくとも1層、およびジエン成分を含むゴム組成物のシートを少なくとも1層含む。ジエン成分を含むゴム組成物を構成するゴムとしては、天然ゴム、乳化重合スチレンブタジエンゴム、溶液重合スチレンブタジエンゴム、高シス−ブタジエンゴム、低シス−ブタジエンゴム、イソプレンゴム、アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴム、水素化ニトリルゴム、ブチルゴム、ハロゲン化ブチルゴム、クロロプレンゴムが挙げられるが、なかでもハロゲン化ブチルゴムが、本発明で得られる熱可塑性樹脂組成物のフィルムと、熱をかけることにより直接接着するという点で、好ましい。好ましくは、ゴム組成物中のポリマー成分のうち、ハロゲン化ブチルゴムが30~100質量%である。ハロゲン化ブチルゴムの含有量が少ないと、本発明で得られる熱可塑性樹脂組成物のフィルムと、熱により直接に接着できず、接着剤等を介して接着する必要があるため好ましくない。
本発明の積層体は、さらに粘接着剤層を含むことが好ましい。粘接着剤層は、好ましくは、ゴム組成物シート側に設ける。粘接着剤層を設けることにより、積層工程でのゴム組成物シートとの密着性・接着性の改善という利点がある。粘接着剤層を構成する粘接着剤としては、ポリアミド樹脂(A)もしくは変性ポリアミド樹脂(A′)または変性ゴム(B)と反応する官能基を有するポリマーとタック付与樹脂のブレンド物が挙げられるが、なかでもエポキシ化スチレン−ブタジエン−スチレンブロック共重合物とテルペン樹脂のブレンド物が好ましい。
また、ジエン成分を含むゴム組成物には、前記した成分に加えて、カーボンブラックやシリカなどのその他の補強剤(フィラー)、加硫または架橋剤、加硫又は架橋促進剤、可塑剤、各種オイル、老化防止剤などの樹脂およびゴム組成物用に一般に配合されている各種添加剤を配合することができる。これらの添加剤の配合量は本発明の目的に反しない限り、従来の一般的な配合量とすることができる。
本発明のタイヤは、前記熱可塑性樹脂組成物のフィルムまたは前記積層体を含むタイヤであり、好ましくは空気入りタイヤである。タイヤを製造する方法としては、慣用の方法を用いることができる。たとえば、本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物のフィルムを空気入りタイヤのインナーライナーとして用いる場合は、予め本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物を所定の幅と厚さのフィルム状に押し出し、それをタイヤ成形用ドラム上に円筒に貼りつける。その上に未加硫ゴムからなるカーカス層、ベルト層、トレッド層等の通常のタイヤ製造に用いられる部材を順次貼り重ね、ドラムを抜き去ってグリーンタイヤとする。次いで、このグリーンタイヤを常法に従って加熱加硫することにより、所望の空気入りタイヤを製造することができる。
本発明のホースは、前記熱可塑性樹脂組成物のフィルムまたは前記積層体を含むホースである。本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物を用いてホースを製造する方法としては、慣用の方法を用いることができる。たとえば、次のようにしてホースを製造することができる。まず、本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物のペレットを使用し、予め離型剤を塗布したマンドレル上に、樹脂押出機によりクロスヘッド押出方式で、熱可塑性樹脂組成物を押し出し、内管を形成する。さらに内管上に他の本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物または一般の熱可塑性ゴム組成物を押し出し内管外層を形成してもよい。次に、内管上に必要に応じ、接着剤を塗布、スプレー等により施す。さらに、内管上に、編組機を使用して、補強糸または補強鋼線を編組する。必要に応じ補強層上に、外管との接着のために接着剤を塗布した後、本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物または他の一般的な熱可塑性ゴム組成物と同様にクロスヘッドの樹脂用押出機により押し出し、外管を形成する。最後にマンドレルを引き抜くと、ホースが得られる。内管上、または補強層上に塗布する接着剤としては、イソシアネート系、ウレタン系、フェノール樹脂系、レゾルシン系、塩化ゴム系、HRH系等が挙げられるが、イソシアネート系、ウレタン系が特に好ましい。
ポリアミド樹脂として、次の2種類を用いた。
ナイロン6:宇部興産株式会社製ナイロン6「UBEナイロン」1022B
ナイロン666:宇部興産株式会社製「UBEナイロン」5033B
変性ゴムとして次のものを用いた。
無水マレイン酸変性エチレン−プロピレン共重合体:三井化学株式会社製タフマー(登録商標)MP−0620。以下「MA−EPM」ともいう。
無水マレイン酸変性エチレン−ブテン共重合体:三井化学株式会社製タフマー(登録商標)MP−7020。以下「MA−EBM」ともいう。
酸無水物基またはエポキシ基と反応する官能基およびアミド結合または水酸基と水素結合し得る官能基を有する水素結合性化合物(C)として次のものを用いた。
3,3′−ジアミノジフェニルスルホン:三井化学ファイン株式会社製3,3′−DAS
トリス(2−ヒドロキシエチル)イソシアヌレート:日星産業株式会社製タナック(登録商標)
3−アミノ−1,2,4−トリアゾール:大塚化学株式会社製3AT
ポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)として、次の2種類を用いた。
グリシドール:日油株式会社製エピオール(登録商標)OH
p−sec−ブチルフェニルグリシジルエーテル:日油株式会社製エピオール(登録商標)SB
エチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)として、日本合成化学工業株式会社製ソアノール(登録商標)A4412Bを用いた。
可塑剤として、n−ブチルベンゼンスルホンアミド(大八化学工業株式会社製BM−4)を用いた。
(2)変性ポリアミド樹脂の調製
ポリアミド樹脂、ポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)および可塑剤を、表1に示す質量比率で、2軸混練機(日本製鋼所製TEX44)に投入し、混練機温度230℃で溶融ブレンドし、5種類の変性ポリアミド樹脂MPA−1、MPA−2、MPA−3、MPA−4およびMPA−5を調製した。また、ポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)を添加せずに、同様の条件で、未変性ポリアミド樹脂PA−1を調製した。
上記のように調製したポリアミド樹脂または変性ポリアミド樹脂、および無水マレイン酸変性エチレン−プロピレン共重合体または無水マレイン酸変性エチレン−ブテン共重合体を、表2および表3に示す質量比率で、2軸混練機に投入し、混練機温度220℃で溶融ブレンドし、無水マレイン酸変性エチレン−プロピレン共重合体または無水マレイン酸変性エチレン−ブテン共重合体が分散したところで、表2および表3に示す量の3,3′−ジアミノジフェニルスルホン、トリス(2−ヒドロキシエチル)イソシアヌレートまたは3−アミノ−1,2,4−トリアゾールを投入し溶融ブレンドした後、押出機から連続してストランド状に排出し、水冷後、カッターで切断することによりペレット状の熱可塑性樹脂組成物を得た。
さらに、上記のように調製したポリアミド樹脂または変性ポリアミド樹脂、エチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体、および無水マレイン酸変性エチレン−プロピレン共重合体または無水マレイン酸変性エチレン−ブテン共重合体を、表4に示す質量比率で、2軸混練機に投入し、混練機温度220℃で溶融ブレンドし、無水マレイン酸変性エチレン−プロピレン共重合体または無水マレイン酸変性エチレン−ブテン共重合体が分散したところで、表4に示す量の3,3′−ジアミノジフェニルスルホン、トリス(2−ヒドロキシエチル)イソシアヌレートまたは3−アミノ−1,2,4−トリアゾールを投入し溶融ブレンドした後、押出機から連続してストランド状に排出し、水冷後、カッターで切断することによりペレット状の熱可塑性樹脂組成物を得た。
(4)熱可塑性樹脂組成物の評価方法
得られた熱可塑性樹脂組成物について、溶融粘度、モルフォロジー、分散相平均粒子径、フィルム成形性、−20℃定ひずみ試験(平均破断回数)および通気度を次の方法により評価した。
[溶融粘度]
溶融粘度とは、混練加工時の任意の温度、成分の溶融粘度をいい、各ポリマー材料の溶融粘度は、温度、剪断速度および剪断応力の依存性があるため、一般に細管中を流れる溶融状態にある任意の温度、特に混練時の温度領域でのポリマー材料の応力と剪断速度を測定し、下記式より溶融粘度ηを測定する。
η=剪断応力/剪断速度
本発明においては、株式会社東洋精機製作所製キャピラリーレオメーターキャピログラフ1Cを用いて、250℃、剪断速度250sec−1において、熱可塑性樹脂組成物の溶融粘度(Pa・s)を測定した。溶融粘度が1800Pa・s以下であることが、フィルム成形性の観点から好ましい。
[モルフォロジーおよび分散相平均粒子径]
熱可塑性樹脂組成物を−100℃で凍結し、該試料をミクロトームにより切削し、フレッシュな面を出した後、その面を原子間力顕微鏡(エスアイアイ・ナノテクノロジー社製SPA−300HV)で観察することにより、モルフォロジーおよび分散相平均粒子径(μm)を測定した。
[フィルム成形性]
ペレット状の熱可塑性樹脂組成物を、550mm幅T型ダイス付40mmφ単軸押出機(株式会社プラ技研製)を用いて、押出温度C1/C2/C3/C4/ダイ=200/210/230/235/235℃、冷却ロール温度50℃、引き取り速度4m/分の押出条件で、平均厚み150μmのフィルムに成形した。フィルムが容易に成形できたときは○、フィルム成形することは可能であるが、粘度が高く、成形が容易でなかったときは△、フィルムが成形できなかったときは×とした。
[−20℃定ひずみ試験(平均破断回数)]
ペレット状の熱可塑性樹脂組成物を、200mm幅T型ダイス付40mmφ単軸押出機(株式会社プラ技研製)を用いて、押出温度C1/C2/C3/C4/ダイ=200/210/230/235/235℃、冷却ロール温度50℃、引き取り速度0.7m/分の押出条件で、平均厚み1mmのシートに成形した。次いでJIS 3号ダンベルで切断し、−20℃下で40%の繰り返し変形を与えた。5回の測定を行い、破断した回数の平均値を算出し、平均破断回数とする。平均破断回数が100万回以上であるものを合格、100万回未満であるものを不合格とした。
[通気度]
ペレット状の熱可塑性樹脂組成物を、400mm幅T型ダイス付40mmφ単軸押出機(株式会社プラ技研)を用いて、押出温度C1/C2/C3/C4/ダイ=200/210/230/235/235℃、冷却ロール温度50℃、引き取り速度3m/分の押出条件で、平均厚み0.15mmのフィルムに成形した。次に、このフィルムを150℃で3時間以上乾燥し、JIS K7126「プラスチックフィルムおよびシートの気体透過度試験方法(A法)」に準じて、試験気体として空気(N2:O2=8:2)を用い、試験温度30℃で、熱可塑性樹脂組成物フィルムの通気度を測定した。
タイヤのインナーライナーとして適用する場合、通気度は20×10−12cc・cm/cm2・sec・cmHg以下が良好であり、より好ましくは15×10−12cc・cm/cm2・sec・cmHg以下である。
通気度が20×10−12cc・cm/cm2・sec・cmHg以下のときを合格、通気度が20×10−12cc・cm/cm2・sec・cmHgを超えるときを不合格とした。
(5)熱可塑性樹脂組成物の評価結果
評価結果を表2~表4に示す。
エチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)を含む本発明の熱可塑性樹脂組成物(実施例10~17)は、溶融粘度が低く、モルフォロジーは良好であり、フィルム成形が可能であり、−20℃定ひずみ試験も通気度も合格であった。比較例8~11は、水素結合性化合物(C)を添加しなかったので、酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する変性ゴムが変性されていないものである。比較例8および9は、−20℃定ひずみ試験で不合格であった。比較例10および11は、相が反転し、−20℃定ひずみ試験および通気度が不合格であった。実施例10、12および15と比較例10との対比から、酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する変性ゴムを水素結合性化合物(C)で変性することにより、変性ゴムをより多く充填できることが分かる。また、実施例16と比較例8の対比から、酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する変性ゴムを水素結合性化合物(C)で変性することにより、低温耐久性を改善できることが分かる。
Claims (14)
- ポリアミド樹脂(A)と酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する変性ゴム(B)とを含む熱可塑性樹脂組成物であって、酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する変性ゴム(B)が、酸無水物基またはエポキシ基と反応する官能基およびアミド結合または水酸基と水素結合し得る官能基を有する水素結合性化合物(C)で変性されていることを特徴とする熱可塑性樹脂組成物。
- 酸無水物基またはエポキシ基と反応する官能基およびアミド結合または水酸基と水素結合し得る官能基を有する水素結合性化合物(C)が、酸無水物基またはエポキシ基と反応する官能基として、アミノ基、水酸基、カルボキシル基またはメルカプト基を有し、かつアミド結合または水酸基と水素結合し得る官能基として、スルホン基、カルボニル基、エーテル結合、水酸基または含窒素複素環を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の熱可塑性樹脂組成物。
- ポリアミド樹脂(A)が、ポリアミド樹脂100質量部に対してポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)0.05~5質量部を、ポリアミド樹脂の融点以上で溶融ブレンドさせて得られる変性ポリアミド樹脂(A′)であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の熱可塑性樹脂組成物。
- さらにエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)を含む請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の熱可塑性樹脂組成物。
- ポリアミド樹脂の末端アミノ基と結合し得る化合物(D)が単官能エポキシ化合物であることを特徴とする請求項3または4に記載の熱可塑性樹脂組成物。
- ポリアミド樹脂(A)が、ナイロン6またはナイロン666であることを特徴とする請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の熱可塑性樹脂組成物。
- 酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する変性ゴム(B)が、エチレン−α−オレフィン共重合体またはエチレン−不飽和カルボン酸共重合体もしくはその誘導体であることを特徴とする請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の熱可塑性樹脂組成物。
- 酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する変性ゴム(B)が、ポリアミド樹脂(A)100質量部に対して、90~180質量部であることを特徴とする請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の熱可塑性樹脂組成物。
- ポリアミド樹脂(A)とエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)の質量比が90/10~10/90であり、ポリアミド樹脂(A)とエチレン−ビニルアルコール共重合体(E)の合計量100質量部に対して酸無水物基またはエポキシ基を有する変性ゴム(B)が90~180質量部であることを特徴とする請求項4~7のいずれか1項に記載の熱可塑性樹脂組成物。
- 請求項1~9のいずれか1項に記載の熱可塑性樹脂組成物のフィルムを少なくとも1層、およびジエン成分を含むゴム組成物のシートを少なくとも1層含むことを特徴とする積層体。
- さらに粘接着剤層を含む請求項10に記載の積層体。
- ゴム組成物中のポリマー成分のうち、ハロゲン化ブチルゴムが30~100質量%であることを特徴とする請求項10または11に記載の積層体。
- 請求項1~9のいずれか1項に記載の熱可塑性樹脂組成物のフィルムまたは請求項10~12のいずれか1項に記載の積層体を含むタイヤ。
- 請求項1~9のいずれか1項に記載の熱可塑性樹脂組成物のフィルムまたは請求項10~12のいずれか1項に記載の積層体を含むホース。
