光ファイバケーブルは、光ファイバと、一対の抗張力体と、外被と、を有する長尺の光エレメント部を含む。光ファイバは、1本以上の光ファイバ素線、光ファイバ心線、又は光ファイバテープ心線からなる。一対の抗張力体は、光ファイバを挟んでその幅方向の両側に平行に配置される。外被は、光ファイバと一対の抗張力体との外周を被覆する。外被の摩擦係数は0.20以下である。外被のショアD硬度は60以上である。

Description

光ファイバケーブル及びその布設方法
 本発明は、既に電線等が配線されて布設された電線管内に、新たな光ファイバケーブルを通線するための光ファイバケーブル及びその布設方法に関する。
 従来、FTTH(Fiber to the Home)による超高速データ通信を可能にする、すなわち、高速広帯域で情報を家庭またはオフィスから送信/で受信できるようにするために、電話局から延線されたアクセス系の光ファイバケーブルから、ビルあるいは一般住宅などの加入者宅へ光ファイバ素線、光ファイバ心線又は光ファイバテープ心線からなる光ファイバが引き落とされている。光ファイバを配線するために、ドロップ用の光ファイバケーブルが用いられている。ドロップ用の光ファイバケーブルは、電柱に支持された幹線ケーブルの分岐クロージャから家庭あるいはオフィス内へ光ファイバを引き込む際、または家庭あるいはオフィス内の各部屋に光ファイバを引き込む際に用いられる。ドロップ用の光ファイバケーブルとして、主に、光ファイバドロップケーブル(屋外線)、少心光架空ケーブル、インドアドロップケーブルが挙げられる。少心光架空ケーブルは、より長い布設径間長に適用するために支持線サイズを大きくしたドロップ用の光ファイバケーブルである。インドアドロップケーブルは、家庭あるいはオフィスビル内の各部屋に光ファイバを引き込む際に用いられるドロップ用の光ファイバケーブルである。
 図1に示すように、従来のインドアドロップケーブル101は、長尺の光エレメント部115を有する。光エレメント部115は、光ファイバ103、少なくとも一対の抗張力体105,105、外被107、ノッチ113,113から構成される。光ファイバ103は、光ファイバ素線、光ファイバ心線又は光ファイバテープ心線からなる。抗張力体105,105は、光ファイバ103を挟んで光ファイバ103の幅方向の両側に平行に配置される。外被107は、樹脂からなり、光ファイバ103と抗張力体105,105との外周を被覆し、矩形の断面形状を有する。外被107は、光ファイバ103の幅方向に配置される長辺と、光ファイバ103の幅方向に直交した厚さ方向に配置される短辺を有する。外被107の断面から見て、ノッチ113,113は、光ファイバ103と抗張力体105,105の中心を結んだX軸109と垂直で、光ファイバ103を挟んで光ファイバ103の中心を通るY軸111の両側に位置する外被107の表面に形成される。
 一般的に、抗張力体はφ0.4mmの直径を有する鋼線である。外被109の外被材には、エチレン-酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA樹脂)やエチレン-エチルアクリレート(EEA)などのベースポリマーに対して、ノンハロゲン難燃剤として、水酸化マグネシウム、水酸化アルミニウムなどを配合したものが一般的に用いられている。外被は、約2.0mmの短径と約3.0mmの長径からなる外径を有する。
 既に配線されている電線管等の配管内に、光ファイバケーブルを効率的に通線するために、光ファイバケーブルの曲げ剛性を規程して配管内への通線性を向上させる工夫がなされている。
 例えば、特許文献1は、曲げ剛性が300N・mm~400N・mmの範囲に設定された空気圧送用光ファイバを開示している。特許文献2は、曲げ剛性が0.06N・m~0.12N・mの範囲に設定された、通線工具と同じ機能を有する光ファイバケーブルを開示している。特許文献3は、曲げ剛性が80N・mm~500N・mmの範囲に設定された光ファイバドロップケーブルを開示している。

 一般的に、光ファイバケーブル101は、居室内において、光ファイバケーブル用ステップルを用いた露出配線形態やワイヤプロテクタを被せた被覆配線形態をとる。合成樹脂可とう管などの電線管内に新たな光ファイバケーブル101を通線して布設するためには、電線管内に通線ロッド(通線工具)を押し込み、通線ロッドで新たな光ファイバケーブル101を引き込む必要があった。電線管に曲がり部が多い場合には、光ファイバケーブル101の外被107の材料の摩擦係数が高いために、光ファイバケーブル101に通線潤滑剤を塗布して引き込む必要があった。また、外被107の材料が柔らかいために、電線管との擦れにより外被に外傷が発生し易いという問題があった。
 一方、マンションなどの集合住宅では、MDF(MainDistributionFrame)から各戸まで光ファイバケーブル101を布設するが、この部分の配線は、線路の安全性、信頼性の観点から電線管等の配管内に収納することが望ましい。
 最近の新築マンションでは建設時に光ファイバケーブル布設用の配管が設置されている場合が多い。しかしながら、既築マンションなどの集合住宅においては、新たに光ファイバケーブル101を配線できる電線管が設置されていない場合が多く、マンション内の各戸まで光ファイバ網を構築するには新たに電線管を設置する必要があり、コストがかかるという問題があった。
 また、マンションにはメタル電話線を布設している電線管があり、この配管内の空隙に細径の光ファイバケーブル101を布設する方法が考えられる。しかしながら、その配管内に光ファイバケーブル101を追加布設しようとすると、前述したように引き込み作業に多くの問題がある。加えて、既存の電線管には既にメタル電話線があるために通線ロッドが通り難いため、新たな光ファイバ101を通線するのが困難である。電線管の曲がり部の数が多い場合には、通線ロッドが押し込めない、或いは通線ロッドを押し込むのに手間がかかるという問題があった。
 光ファイバケーブル101が約2.0mmの短径と約3.0mmの長径からなる外径を有する場合には、光ファイバケーブル101の外径が太いため、電線管内に布設可能な光ファイバケーブル101の数が少なくなり、電線管内に複数本の光ファイバケーブル101を布設するのに適さない。
 特許文献1に開示された光ファイバケーブルは、光ファイバケーブルのユニットを単独で押し込むには曲げ剛性が不足しているので、空気によって圧送しなければ、電線管内に通線されない。
 特許文献2に開示された光ファイバケーブルは曲げ剛性が高すぎるので、光ファイバケーブルを小径に巻いてキャビネットやクロージャ等に収納することが困難である。また、特許文献2に開示された光ファイバケーブルは、いずれも円形断面を有する光ファイバケーブルであるので、矩形断面を有する光ファイバケーブルにおける長辺方向の曲げ剛性と短辺方向の曲げ剛性が異なる場合の通線性の解析は行われていない。
 特許文献3に開示された光ファイバケーブルは、曲げ剛性が低いため、光ファイバケーブルを小径に巻いてキャビネットやクロージャ等に収納することは容易である。しかしながら、電線管内に押し込むことは困難である。
 本発明は、既に電線等が配線されて布設された電線管内に、通線工具を用いることなく、新たな光ファイバケーブルを容易に効率よく通線可能な光ファイバケーブル及びその布設方法を提供することを目的とする。
 上記の課題を解決するために、本発明は、1本以上の光ファイバ素線、光ファイバ心線、又は光ファイバテープ心線からなる光ファイバと、前記光ファイバを挟んで前記光ファイバの幅方向の両側に平行に配置された少なくとも一対の抗張力体と、前記光ファイバと前記一対の抗張力体との外周を被覆し、かつ、前記光ファイバの幅方向を長辺とし、前記光ファイバの幅方向に直交した厚さ方向を短辺とした矩形断面を有する外被と、を備える長尺の光エレメント部を含んだ光ファイバケーブルであって、前記外被の摩擦係数が0.20以下であり、前記外被のショアD硬度が60以上であることを特徴とする光ファイバケーブルを提供する。
 本発明の光ファイバケーブルは、前記外被の短辺方向の曲げ剛性が1.3×10-3N・m以上であることが好ましい。
 本発明の光ファイバケーブルは、前記外被の短辺方向の曲げ剛性が1.5×10-3N・m以上で、かつ、5.0×10-3N・m以下であることが好ましい。
 本発明は、光ファイバケーブルを押し込んで電線管内に通線する光ファイバケーブルの布設方法であって、前記光ファイバケーブルは長尺の光エレメント部を含み、前記長尺の光エレメント部は、1本以上の光ファイバ素線、光ファイバ心線、又は光ファイバテープ心線からなる光ファイバと、前記光ファイバを挟んで前記光ファイバの幅方向の両側に平行に配置された少なくとも一対の抗張力体と、前記光ファイバと前記一対の抗張力体との外周を被覆し、かつ、前記光ファイバの幅方向を長辺とし、前記光ファイバの幅方向に直交する厚さ方向を短辺とした矩形断面を有する外被と、を備え、前記外被の摩擦係数が0.20以下であり、前記外被のショアD硬度が60以上であることを特徴とする光ファイバケーブルの布設方法を提供する。
 本発明の光ファイバケーブルの布設方法は、前記光ファイバケーブルの先端部を折り曲げた状態で、前記光ファイバケーブルを前記電線管内に通線することが好ましい。
 本発明の光ファイバケーブルの布設方法は、固定部材を用いて、前記先端部を折り曲げた前記光ファイバケーブルと、他の光ファイバケーブルを一束化して、少なくとも2本の光ファイバケーブルを前記電線管内に通線することが好ましい。
 また、本発明の光ファイバケーブルの布設方法は、複数本の前記光ファイバケーブルをリールに予め共巻きにしておき、前記複数本の光ファイバケーブルを同時に前記電線管内に通線することが好ましい。
 また、本発明の光ファイバケーブルの布設方法は、前記光ファイバケーブルの外被の短辺方向の曲げ剛性が1.3×10-3N・m以上であることが好ましい。
 また、本発明の光ファイバケーブルの布設方法は、前記光ファイバケーブルの外被の短辺方向の曲げ剛性が1.5×10-3N・m以上で、かつ、5.0×10-3N・m以下であることが好ましい。
 本発明の光ファイバケーブル及びその布設方法によれば、0.2以下の摩擦係数と60以上のショアD硬度を有する外被を用いることで、電線管への通線性を向上させ、通線潤滑剤を使用することなく、多くの曲がり部を有する電線管へ通線することができる。また、本発明の光ファイバケーブル及びその布設方法によれば、既に電線等が配線されて布設された電線管内の限られた隙間に、通線工具を用いることなく、直接、剛性を持たせた新たな光ファイバケーブルを押し込むことにより、光ファイバケーブルを電線管内に容易に効率よく通線することができる。さらに、布設後の光ファイバケーブルにうねりや傷を与える可能性を確実に低減することができる。

 以下、図2乃至6を参照して、本発明の実施の形態を説明する。
 図2に示すように、本発明に係る光ファイバケーブルとして、本実施の形態では光ファイバインドアケーブルを例にとって説明する。光ファイバケーブル1は、長尺の光エレメント部15を有する。光エレメント部15は、光ファイバ3、少なくとも一対の抗張力体5,5、外被7、ノッチ13,13から構成される。光ファイバ3は、1本以上の光ファイバ素線、光ファイバ心線又は光ファイバテープ心線からなる。光ファイバ3が2本以上の光ファイバ素線、光ファイバ心線又は光ファイバテープ心線からなる場合、これらの光ファイバ素線、光ファイバ心線又は光ファイバテープ心線は、互いに一列に並列されて、光エレメント部15内に配置される。抗張力体5,5は、光ファイバ3を挟んで光ファイバ3の幅方向の両側に平行に配置される。外被7は、樹脂からなり、光ファイバ3と抗張力体5,5との外周を被覆し、矩形の断面形状を有する。外被7は、光ファイバ3の幅方向に配置される長辺と、光ファイバ3の幅方向に直交した厚さ方向に配置される短辺を有する。外皮7の断面から見て、ノッチ13,13は、光ファイバ3と抗張力体5,5の中心を結んだX軸9と垂直で、光ファイバ3を挟んで光ファイバ3の中心を通るY軸11の両側に位置する外被7の表面に形成される。外被7は、0.20以下の摩擦係数と60以上のショアD硬度を有する。
 光ファイバケーブル1は、細径化した外形寸法と、高硬度化及び低摩擦化した外被7を有し、かつ、外被7の材料及び抗張力体5,5によってケーブルの短辺方向の曲げ剛性を上げている。この構成より、光ファイバケーブル1は、通線ロッド等の通線工具を用いずに、電線管(図示略)内に通線される。
 それゆえ、通線作業工数を削減し、メタル電話線が布設されている既設の電線管の隙間を有効利用し、既設マンション内の光ファイバ網を効率的かつ経済的に構築することができる。
 次に、光ファイバケーブル1の実施例を説明する。
 本実施例では、配管長20mで5つの90度の曲がり部を有する配管モデルを使用して、光ファイバケーブル1の通線性の検証を行なった。この配管モデルを採用した理由は以下のとおりである。(株)オプトロニクス社の「光通信時代を支えるFTTH施工技術」では、「電線管の通線点間は、90度の曲がり部の数が2つ以下であることが望ましい」と記載されているが、明確な指針が存在せず、既築マンションでは、3つ以上の90度の曲がり部を有する電線管も多数存在すると考えられるため、この配管モデルを採用した。
 電線管として、φ22mmの内径を有するCD管(配管機材)を使用した。既設メタルケーブルとして、約9mmの外径を有する30対のメタル電話線を使用した。このメタル電話線を予め電線管に通線した。このように、電線管を介してメタル電話線が引き込まれている30戸に、新たに光ファイバケーブル1を引き込むことを想定した。そして、メタル電話線が予め通線された電線管に、30本の光ファイバケーブル1の引き込みを実施した。
 光ファイバケーブル1の外径は、電線管内の隙間を有効利用するために、可能な限り細径であることが望ましい。しかしながら、ケーブル部での端末口出し作業性を考慮すると、光ファイバケーブル1の外径が細すぎると作業性が悪くなるという問題がある。
 この配管モデルにおいて、直径φ9mmの先端を有する標準的な市販の通線ロッドを用いる場合、光ファイバケーブル1の断面積が2.0mm以上、かつ、4.0mm以下の範囲であれば、端末口出し作業性が良好で通線可能なケーブルサイズとなることが判明した。
 光ファイバケーブル1の断面積が2.0mmより小さいと、光ファイバケーブル1が細すぎるために口出し作業が困難となる。光ファイバケーブル1の断面積が4.0mmより大きいと、電線管の断面積に対する、30本の光ファイバケーブル1と通線ロッドを合わせた空間占有率が60%を超えるため、通線作業が非常に困難であった。
 光ファイバケーブル1の外被7は、60以上のショアD硬度と0.2以下の摩擦係数を有する難燃高硬度低摩擦の材料からなる。抗張力体5,5はφ0.5mmの直径を有する鋼線を用いた。外被7は、約1.6mmの短径と約2.0mmの長径からなる外径を有する。外被7は、短辺方向の曲げに対して1.5×10-3N・m以上の曲げ剛性と、長辺方向の曲げに対して10×10-3N・m以上の曲げ剛性を有する。
 外被7は、高密度ポリエチレンに、エチレン酢酸ビニル共重合体、およびエチレンエチルアクリレートから選ばれる少なくとも1種類の樹脂を加えたベース樹脂100重量部に対して、無機リン酸塩25~90重量部及びシリコーン分散ポリエチレン0.75~15重量部、又は無機リン酸塩25~90重量部及びシリコーングラフトポリエチレン0.75~15重量部を含有する樹脂組成物を被覆して形成される。このように構成された光ファイバケーブル1の特性を確認したところ、波長1.55μmにおける光伝送損失は0.25dB/km以下、損失温度特性(-10°C~+40°C)は損失変動0.03dB/km以下であり、従来ケーブルと同等の性能を有した。光ファイバケーブル1の短辺方向と長辺方向の曲げ剛性をそれぞれ限定することにより、電線管への通線性とキャビネット等への収納性を両立することができる。
 本実施例の変形例として、強度に優れ、表面が滑らかな樹脂として、ポリ塩化ビニル、ナイロン、ポリエステル、ポリアセタール、ポリプロピレン等を用いてもよい。また、被覆樹脂に滑剤としてステアリン酸アミド等の脂肪族アミドを添加して、その表面の潤滑性を改善してもよい。これにより、延線用ロープと既存のケーブルとの摩擦抵抗や、延線用ロープと管路との摩擦抵抗をより一層低減することができる。
 このように、摩擦抵抗の軽減効果を得るために、滑剤を樹脂被覆に添加して潤滑性樹脂被覆を形成する際に、滑剤としては、通常、ステアリン酸アミド、オレイン酸アミド、エチレンビスアミド、エルシン酸アミド等の脂肪酸アミドが用いられる。特に、ステアリン酸アミド、エルシン酸アミドを用いるのが好ましい。1種類の滑剤を樹脂被覆に添加してもよいし、2種類以上の滑剤を混合して樹脂被覆に添加してもよい。通常、ポリエチレン100重量部に対して、0.01~1重量部の滑剤が添加される。
 本実施例の別の変形例として、滑剤を樹脂被覆に添加せずに、既存のケーブルとの摩擦や管路との摩擦をより低減可能な潤滑性樹脂を使用してもよい。潤滑性樹脂として、シリコーン分散ポリエチレン、シリコーングラフトポリエチレン、フッ素樹脂分散ポリエチレン、又はフッ素樹脂コーティングポリエチレン等が使用される。
 ちなみに、従来の光ファイバケーブル1で一般的に用いられている、エチレン-酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA樹脂)やエチレン-エチルアクリレート(EEA)などのベースポリマーに対して、ノンハロゲン難燃剤として、水酸化マグネシウム、水酸化アルミニウムなどの金属水酸化物を配合した外被7の材料では、電線管に通線する場合に必要となる低摩擦性や耐外傷性(隣接した光ファイバケーブル1同士および光ファイバケーブル1と電線管内壁との擦れによる外傷に対する、外被7の強度)、ケーブルの曲げ剛性を得ることは困難である。
 次に、本実施例における外被7の摩擦係数、外被7の硬度、電線管への通線性の関係性を説明する。
 0.7、0.25、0.18、0.20の4種類の摩擦係数を有する外被7をそれぞれ含んだ試作(1)~(4)の光ファイバケーブル1を作製し、前述した配管モデルの電線管への通線性の実験を行なった。
 試作(1)および試作(3)の光ファイバケーブル1は、エチレン-酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA樹脂)のベースポリマーに対して、ノンハロゲン系難燃剤、低摩擦化添加剤を配合したものを外被7としている。試作(1)および試作(3)の光ファイバケーブル1のショアD硬度は、それぞれ56および52である。
 試作(2)および試作(4)の光ファイバケーブル1は、高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)のベースポリマーに対して、ノンハロゲン系難燃剤、低摩擦化添加剤を配合したものを外被7としている。試作(2)および試作(4)の光ファイバケーブル1のショアD硬度は、それぞれ63および60であり、試作(1)および試作(3)の光ファイバケーブル1と比較して高硬度化されている。各光ファイバケーブル1を電線管に通線する作業は、通線ロッドを用いて行なわれた。通線性は、通線可能本数と通線後の外傷の有無で判断した。通線性の実験の結果を表1に示す。

 表1に示すように、外被7の摩擦係数が0.20以下であれば、30本の光ファイバケーブル1を布設することができる(試作(3)および試作(4)参照)。また、ショアD硬度が56以下では、布設後の光ファイバケーブル1にうねりや傷が発生している(試作(1)および試作(3)参照)。この原因として、通線ロッドを押し込んだ時に、先に通線した光ファイバケーブル1に押し痕を与えてしまったこと、あるいは、ケーブル相互の擦れによって外傷を与えてしまったことが挙げられる。
 それゆえ、光ファイバケーブル1にうねりや傷を与えずに、電線管内に光ファイバケーブル1を通線するためには、摩擦係数が0.20以下で、ショアD硬度が60以上である外被7を含んだ光ファイバケーブル1を使用することが必要である。
 次に、本実施例におけるケーブル外径、曲げ剛性、電線管への押し込み通線性の関係性を説明する。
 光ファイバケーブル1の短辺方向の曲げ剛性の値とケーブル外径の値を変えて、試作(5)~(8)の光ファイバケーブル1を作成し、前述した配管モデルの電線管に対する試作(5)~(8)の押し込み通線性の実験を行った。ここで、押し込み通線性とは、通線ロッドを使わずに、光ファイバケーブル1を電線管に直接押し込むときの通線性を意味する。なお、試作(5)~(8)の光ファイバケーブル1の外被7は、表1に示した試作(4)の光ファイバケーブルと同様に、摩擦係数が0.20で、ショアD硬度が60である材料からなる。押し込み通線性は、通線可能本数と通線後の外傷の有無で判断した。押し込み通線性の実験結果を表2に示す。

 表2に示すように、短辺方向の曲げ剛性を1.3× 10-3N・m以上であれば、押し込み通線性は良好である(試作(6)~(8)参照)。特に、短辺方向の曲げ剛性が1.5× 10-3N・m以上であれば、多数の光ファイバケーブル1(30本以上の光ファイバケーブル1)を電線管に直接押し込むことができる(試作(7)および試作(8)参照)。
 一般的に、曲げ剛性は高いほど押し込み通線性は良好である。しかしながら、光ファイバケーブル1を小径に巻いてキャビネットやクロージャ等に収納する場合、曲げ剛性が高すぎると、光ファイバケーブルが硬いため、光ファイバケーブルを小径に巻きにくくなる。これは、作業性を劣化させる。作業性を考慮すると、曲げ剛性は、1.5× 10-3N・m以上、かつ、5.0×10-3N・m以下の範囲内であることが望ましい(試作(7)および試作(8)参照)。
 次に、上記の押し込み通線性が良好な光ファイバケーブル1を用いて、より一層効果的に押し込み通線を行う方法を説明する。
 押し込み通線を行う際に、図3に示すように、光ファイバケーブル1の先端の約10mmを約180° 折り返して加工した折り曲げ部17を形成することが望ましい。
 光ファイバケーブル1の先端をニッパ等の切断工具で切断しただけでは、切断面の角部が、電線管の曲がり部において、既に布設されているケーブルや電線管の内壁に引っ掛かり、所定の押し込み通線性が得られない。また、切断面における抗張力体5,5(鋼線)のバリが、既に布設されているケーブルの外被に外傷を与えることがある。
 図4に示すように、光ファイバケーブル1の先端にキャップ状のカバー19を被せることにより、電線管の曲がり部において、光ファイバケーブル1の先端が既に布設されているケーブルや電線管の内壁に引っ掛かることを防止できる。しかしながら、押し込み通線を行う際に、布設中の光ファイバケーブル1を引き戻す場合、カバー19が、光ファイバケーブル1の先端から外れて電線管内に残置して、カバー19を電線管から回収できない可能性がある。更に、電線管内に残置したカバー19が、新たな光ファイバケーブル1の布設を妨害する可能性がある。更にまた、電線管内に布設された光ファイバケーブル1を保守するために、電線管から光ファイバケーブル1を引き抜く際に、この光ファイバケーブル1のカバー19が電線管内の他のケーブルの外被に外傷を与える可能性がある。
 一方、光ファイバケーブル1の先端部に折り曲げ部17を形成して、光ファイバケーブル1を通線する方法は次の技術的利点を有する:作業現場で、折り曲げ部17を容易に形成することができる;光ファイバケーブル1の先端が、電線管の曲がり部において、既に布設されているケーブルや電線管の内壁に引っ掛かることがない;光ファイバケーブル1の先端の切断面の抗張力体5,5(鋼線)のバリが、既に布設されているケーブルの外被に外傷を与えることがない;電線管内にカバー19などの異物を残置することがない。
 次に、電線管内に複数本の光ファイバケーブル1をより一層効率的に布設する方法について説明する。
 図5に示すように、複数本の図2に示した光ファイバケーブル1を束ねて、複数本の光ファイバケーブル1をリール21に予め共巻きして、段ボール箱等の収納箱23に収納しておく。共巻きされた複数本の光ファイバケーブル1は収納箱23に設けた取出し口25より引き出される。なお、各光ファイバケーブル1の外被7はショアD硬度が60以上の難燃高硬度低摩擦の材料からなる。各光ファイバケーブル1の抗張力体5,5は直径φ0.5mmの鋼線からなる。各光ファイバケーブル1は、約1.6×2.0mmの外径と1.5×10-3N・mの短辺方向の曲げ剛性を有する。
 図6に示すように、共巻きされた複数本の光ファイバケーブル1は、粘着テープ等の固定用テープ27に覆われて一束化された先端部を有する。固定用テープ27より先の先端部の突端には、複数本の光ファイバケーブル1のうちの1本あるいは数本の光ファイバケーブルが、約180°折り返すことにより、折り曲げ部17が形成される(図3参照)。折り曲げ部17の径が、固定用テープ27に覆われて一束化された複数本の光ファイバケーブルの径より細いことが望ましい。複数本の光ファイバケーブル1を一括して電線管内に押し込むことにより、1本ずつ光ファイバケーブル1を電線管内に押し込む場合に比べて、通線作業工数を低減することができ、作業の大幅な効率化を図ることができる。
 例えば、上記の方法で一束化された5本の光ファイバケーブル1を電線管内に押し込む作業を6回繰り返して、30本の光ファイバケーブル1を配管モデルの電線管に通線すると、作業を終了するまでに約30分かかった。一方、1本ずつ光ファイバケーブル1を配管モデルの電線管内に押し込む作業を30回繰り返して、30本の光ファイバケーブル1を配管モデルの電線管に通線すると、作業を終了するまでに約90分かかった。
 光ファイバケーブル1は、次の技術的利点を有する。
 (1)光ファイバケーブル1が、0.2以下の摩擦係数と60以上のショアD硬度を有する外被7(難燃高硬度低摩擦外被)を有することにより、通線潤滑剤を使用することなく、複数の曲がり部を有する電線管に光ファイバケーブル1を通線することできる。これは電線管への通線性を向上させる。また、既設ケーブルがある電線管内に複数本の光ファイバケーブル1を通線して布設する場合において、光ファイバケーブル1が、0.2以下の摩擦係数と60以上のショアD硬度を有する外被7(難燃高硬度低摩擦外被)を有することにより、布設中の光ファイバケーブル1が既設ケーブルや先に布設された光ファイバケーブル1にうねりや傷を与える可能性を確実に低減することができる。
(2)光ファイバケーブル1が1.3×10-3N・m以上の短辺方向の曲げ剛性を有することにより、通線ロッドなどの通線工具を使用することなく、押し込み通線の方法で電線管内に光ファイバケーブル1を通線することができる。これは、通線作業工数を削減させる。
(3)光ファイバケーブル1が1.3×10-3N・m以上、かつ、5.0×10-3N・m以下の範囲内の短辺方向の曲げ剛性を有することにより、押し込み通線性が更に向上し、かつ、光ファイバケーブル1をキャビネットやクロージャなどに収納する際の作業性が向上する。
(4)光ファイバケーブル1を電線管に直接押し込んで、光ファイバケーブル1を電線管に通線できるので、通線ロッドを用いて光ファイバケーブル1を押し込む必要がないため、通線作業の効率が向上する。
(5)複数本の光ファイバケーブル1を束ねてリール21に共巻きしておき、共巻きされた複数本の光ファイバケーブル1を同時に電線管に通線することにより、1本ずつ光ファイバケーブル1を電線管に通線する場合に比べて、大幅に作業時間を短縮することができる。

Claims (9)

  1.  1本以上の光ファイバ素線、光ファイバ心線、又は光ファイバテープ心線からなる光ファイバと、
     前記光ファイバを挟んで前記光ファイバの幅方向の両側に平行に配置された少なくとも一対の抗張力体と、
     前記光ファイバと前記一対の抗張力体との外周を被覆し、かつ、前記光ファイバの幅方向を長辺とし、前記光ファイバの幅方向と直交する厚さ方向を短辺とした矩形断面を有する外被と、
     を備える長尺の光エレメント部を含んだ光ファイバケーブルであって、
     前記外被の摩擦係数が0.20以下であり、
     前記外被のショアD硬度が60以上であることを特徴とする光ファイバケーブル。
  2.  前記外被の短辺方向の曲げ剛性が1.3×10-3N・m以上であることを特徴する請求項1記載の光ファイバケーブル。
  3.  前記外被の短辺方向の曲げ剛性が1.5×10-3N・m以上、かつ、5.0×10-3N・m以下であることを特徴する請求項2記載の光ファイバケーブル。
  4.  光ファイバケーブルを押し込んで電線管内に通線する光ファイバケーブルの布設方法であって、
     前記光ファイバケーブルは長尺の光エレメント部を含み、
     前記長尺の光エレメント部は、
       1本以上の光ファイバ素線、光ファイバ心線、又は光ファイバテープ心線からなる光ファイバと、
       前記光ファイバを挟んで前記光ファイバの幅方向の両側に平行に配置された少なくとも一対の抗張力体と、
       前記光ファイバと前記一対の抗張力体との外周を被覆し、かつ、前記光ファイバの幅方向を長辺とし、前記光ファイバの幅方向と直交する厚さ方向を短辺とした矩形断面を有する外被と、
     を備え、
     前記外被の摩擦係数が0.20以下であり、
     前記外被のショアD硬度が60以上であることを特徴とする光ファイバケーブルの布設方法。
  5.  前記光ファイバケーブルの先端部を折り曲げた状態で、前記光ファイバケーブルを前記電線管内に通線することを特徴とする請求項4記載の光ファイバケーブルの布設方法。
  6.  固定部材を用いて、前記先端部を折り曲げた前記光ファイバケーブルと、他の光ファイバケーブルを一束化して、少なくとも2本の光ファイバケーブルを前記電線管内に通線することを特徴とする請求項5記載の光ファイバケーブルの布設方法。
  7.  複数本の前記光ファイバケーブルをリールに予め共巻きにしておき、前記複数本の光ファイバケーブルを同時に前記電線管内に通線することを特徴とする請求項4又は6記載の光ファイバケーブルの布設方法。
  8.  前記光ファイバケーブルの外被の短辺方向の曲げ剛性が1.3×10-3N・m以上であることを特徴する請求項4、5、6又は7記載の光ファイバケーブルの布設方法。
  9.  前記光ファイバケーブルの外被の短辺方向の曲げ剛性が1.5×10-3N・m以上で、かつ、5.0×10-3N・m以下であることを特徴する請求項8記載の光ファイバケーブルの布設方法。
