 本発明は、車両用電源装置に関し、より特定的には、信号待ち等での車両停車時にエンジンを自動的に一時停止させるアイドルストップ車両に搭載される車両用電源装置に関する。
 近年、燃料消費量の節減とエミッションの低減を目的として、信号待ち等の車両停止時にエンジンを自動的に一時停止させるようにしたアイドルストップ車両が実用化されている。
 この種の車両では、車速・アクセル開度等の所定のアイドル判断情報に基づいて、車両が停止中と推測されるときにエンジンを自動停止させ、その後に運転者の発進意思を表わすエンジン始動条件が成立したときに、スタータによりエンジンを自動始動させて発進に備えている。
 一般的に、エンジン起動用のスタータは消費電力が大きいため、エンジン起動の瞬間にバッテリ出力系統の電圧が一時的に低下する現象が発生する可能性がある。
 このような現象は、特に、停車および発進を頻繁に繰り返す市街地走行等により、電源として用いられるバッテリの消耗が激しくなった場合に顕著となる。
 このような電圧低下が発生すると、車両内の電気機器に用いられるマイコン(マイクロコンピュータ)がリセットされて、その時点までの学習内容等の記憶内容が消失してしまったり、計器類の照明等が一時的に暗くなって車両の品質感を大きく損なってしまったりするという不具合が発生してしまう。
 そこで、アイドルストップ車両において、エンジン再起動時におけるバッテリ出力系統の電圧低下を防止するために電圧補償用の昇圧回路を設け、エンジン起動時のスタータ動作期間において当該昇圧回路を動作させる構成が提案されている。(特許文献1参照)
 また、バッテリは消費者自身で交換することも可能であるため、極性を間違えて接続されることも想定され、逆接続された場合に電流が流れないようにする保護回路を設けることなどが考案されている。(特許文献2参照)

 上述したようなエンジン再始動時において、スタータの消費電力が大きいことに起因する出力電圧の低下を昇圧コンバータによって補償する回路において、バッテリが誤って逆極性に接続された場合に電流が流れないようにする保護回路を構成する方法として、図7及び図8を用いて説明する。
 図7において、直流電源として設けられるバッテリ1と、第1の負荷6と、第1のコンデンサ2と、昇圧コンバータ回路3と、昇圧コンバータ回路3を制御する制御回路4と、昇圧コンバータ回路3の出力電圧が供給されるコネクタ5とを備え、コネクタ5には第2の負荷(図示せず)が接続される構成となっている。
 第1の負荷6は、スタータ61、エンジン62、発電機63から構成され、スタータ61はエンジン始動時において、バッテリ1から直流電圧が供給され、エンジン62を始動させる。エンジンが始動すると、その回転を動力源として発電機63によって電力が生成され、それをバッテリ1への充電電力とする仕組みとなっている。
 また、昇圧コンバータ回路3は、インダクタ31と、電界効果トランジスタ等から構成される第1の半導体スイッチング素子32と、第1のダイオード34と、第2のコンデンサ35と、第2のダイオード36と、バイアス抵抗37と、放電抵抗38とからなり、バッテリ1の両端に対して、インダクタ31と、第1の半導体スイッチング素子32とが直列接続されており、インダクタ31と第1の半導体スイッチング素子32の接続点に第1のダイオード34のアノードが接続され、第1のダイオード34のカソードにはコネクタ5の出力端子が接続されており、コネクタ5の両端には第2のコンデンサ35が接続されている。
 自動車においては、バッテリ1を使用者が自ら交換できるようになっている場合が多く、車両用電源装置には使用者が誤ってバッテリ1の極性を逆接続してしまった場合でも電流が逆方向に流れないような保護回路を設けることが要求されている。この機能を実現するために、例えば図7に示すリレースイッチ8や図8に示す第3のダイオード9などを用いて順方向電流が流れた時だけ通電させるようにすること等が考えられるが、車両用電源装置は出力電流が非常に大きく、第3のダイオード9の順方向電力損失やリレースイッチ8の消費電力が無視できないほど大きくなり、バッテリ1の寿命を短くしてしまうという問題があった。
 また、パワーステアリング装置を備えた大型車などにおいては、車両重量が大きいため、パワーステアリング装置に用いられるモータにも大電力が求められ、その結果、モータ寸法が大型化してしまうことを防ぐために、従来の鉛蓄電池の出力電圧(12V)よりも高電圧を要求されることがある。この場合も大電流が流れることとなり、従来のダイオードやリレースイッチを用いた電源装置では損失が無視できなくなっていた。
 上記問題点を解決するために、本願発明の車両用電源装置は、
 直流電源に接続される昇圧コンバータ回路と、

本発明の第1の実施形態を説明する回路図である。 本発明の第1の実施形態において、バッテリが正常に接続された場合の回路図である。 本発明の第1の実施形態において、バッテリが逆接続された場合の回路図である。 本発明の第2の実施形態を説明する回路図である。 本発明の第3の実施形態を説明する回路図である。 本発明の第4の実施形態を説明する回路図である。 従来例のバッテリ逆接続防止を目的とした車両用電源装置の回路図である。 従来例のバッテリ逆接続防止を目的とした他の車両用電源装置の回路図である。
 この発明の各実施の形態について図面を参照して詳細に説明する。同一または相当部分には同一符号を付してその説明は原則的には繰返さないものとする。
《第1の実施形態》
 図1は、この発明の第1の実施形態による車両用電源装置の構成を説明する回路図である。
 図1において、本発明による車両用電源装置は、直流電源として設けられるバッテリ1と、第1の負荷6と、第1のコンデンサ2と、昇圧コンバータ回路3と、昇圧コンバータ回路3を制御する制御回路4と、昇圧コンバータ回路3の出力電圧が供給されるコネクタ5とを備え、コネクタ5には第2の負荷(図示せず)が接続される構成となっている。
 第1の負荷6は、スタータ61、エンジン62、発電機63から構成され、スタータ61はエンジン始動時において、バッテリ1から直流電圧が供給され、エンジン62を始動させる。エンジンが始動すると、その回転を動力源として発電機63によって電力が生成され、それをバッテリ1への充電電力とする仕組みとなっている。
 また、昇圧コンバータ回路3は、インダクタ31と、電界効果型トランジスタ(MOSFET)等から構成される第1の半導体スイッチング素子32及び第2の半導体スイッチング素子33と、第1のダイオード34と、第2のコンデンサ35と、第2のダイオード36と、バイアス抵抗37と、放電抵抗38とからなり、バッテリ1の両端に対して、インダクタ31と、第2の半導体スイッチング素子33と第1の半導体スイッチング素子32が直列に接続されており、第1の半導体スイッチング素子32と第2の半導体スイッチング素子33は互いのボディダイオード321、331が逆極性になるように、ドレイン同士が接続された構成となっている。また、インダクタ31と第2の半導体スイッチング素子33の接続点に第1のダイオード34のアノードが接続され、第1のダイオード34のカソードにはコネクタ5の出力端子が接続されており、コネクタ5の両端には第2のコンデンサ35が接続されている。
 また、第1のコンデンサ2とインダクタ31の接続点にアノードが接続され、カソードがバイアス抵抗37を介して第2の半導体スイッチング素子33のゲート端子に接続される第2のダイオード36と、第2の半導体スイッチング素子33のゲート-ソース間に接続される放電抵抗38が設けられている。制御回路4は、バッテリ1から供給される入力電圧と、出力電圧検出回路7によって出力電圧とをモニタしながら、第2の負荷に供給される出力電圧が所定の値になるように、第1の半導体スイッチング素子32のオン/オフを制御するようになっている。
 制御回路4は、バッテリ(直流電源)1に接続されている負荷が重負荷状態であって、直流電源の電圧が過渡的に低下する場合において、昇圧コンバータ回路3の出力電圧が直流電源の電圧になるように昇圧コンバータ回路3を制御する。
 図2は、バッテリ1の極性が正常に接続された場合の回路ブロック図である。図1におけるスタータ61、エンジン62、発電機63からなる第1の負荷6は動作に直接関係がないので省略する。
 バッテリ1から直流電圧が供給され、制御回路4が第1の半導体スイッチング素子32のゲート端子に電圧を印加して第1の半導体スイッチング素子32をターンオンさせると、インダクタ31には電流が流れ、インダクタ31の両端には電圧が生じる。これによって第2のダイオード36がオンし、バイアス抵抗37を介して第2の半導体スイッチング素子33のゲート端子に電圧が印加され、第2の半導体スイッチング素子33もターンオンする。こうして、バッテリ1の+端子→インダクタ31→第2の半導体スイッチング素子33→第1の半導体スイッチング素子32→バッテリ1の-端子、という閉ループ内を電流が流れることになる。
 続いて、制御回路4からの制御信号により第1の半導体スイッチング素子32がターンオフすると、オン期間の間、インダクタ31に蓄積されたエネルギーは第1のダイオード34を介して第2のコンデンサ35を充電するために放出される。こうして、バッテリ1の+端子→インダクタ31→第1のダイオード34→第2のコンデンサ35→バッテリ1の-端子、という閉ループ内を電流が流れることになる。
 次に、図3において、バッテリ1の極性が誤って逆に接続された時を想定する。図3は、バッテリ1の極性が逆接続された場合の回路ブロック図である。
 バッテリ1が逆接続された場合、第1の半導体スイッチング素子32のボディダイオード321は順方向バイアスがかかるためオンするが、第2の半導体スイッチング素子33のボディダイオード331は逆方向バイアスになるため、オンしない。すなわち、昇圧コンバータ回路3のスイッチに2つの半導体スイッチング素子(32と33)を用い、それらのボディダイオード(321と331)が逆極性になるように直列接続することで、誤ってバッテリ1の極性が逆に接続された場合であっても、昇圧コンバータ回路3に電流が流れてしまうことを防ぐことができ、結果的に昇圧コンバータ回路3の出力に接続される負荷の破壊、誤動作等を防ぐことができる。
 この場合、第2の半導体スイッチング素子33は、第2のダイオード36の存在によって、制御回路4等によって制御されることなく、バッテリ1が正常に接続された時は必然的にオンとなり、バッテリ1が誤って逆極性に接続された場合には必然的にオフとなるような自己駆動型素子として構成される。
 また、昇圧コンバータ回路3の出力電圧は、上述したようなスタータ61の起動時におけるバッテリ1の供給電圧の過渡的な低下を補償する目的であれば、バッテリ1の供給電圧に等しくなるように設定すればよく、勿論それ以上の出力電圧に設定することも可能である。
 さらに、車両重量の大きな車両のパワーステアリング装置に用いる場合は、運転者がきったステアリングの舵角に応じて応力を制御する必要があるため、第2の負荷からステアリング回転角情報を制御回路4が受け取り、昇圧コンバータ回路3の出力電圧を適宜制御することも可能である。
《第2の実施形態》
 図4は、この発明の第2の実施形態による車両用電源装置の構成を説明する回路図である。
 第2の実施形態が第1の実施形態と相違する点は、第2の半導体スイッチング素子33のオン/オフ制御を制御回路4で実現する点である。制御回路4がインダクタ31の両端の電圧を検出できるように構成すれば、第1の半導体スイッチング素子32及び第2の半導体スイッチング素子33各々のオン/オフ制御を行うことができる。
 その他の点は、第1の実施形態と同様であるので、説明を省略する。
《第3の実施形態》
 図5は、この発明の第3の実施形態による車両用電源装置の構成を説明する回路図である。
 第3の実施形態が第2の実施形態と相違する点は、第1の半導体スイッチング素子32と第2の半導体スイッチング素子33の接続順が逆になっている点である。制御回路4によって第1の半導体スイッチング素子32及び第2の半導体スイッチング素子33各々のオン/オフ制御を行うような構成であれば、図5に示すように第1の半導体スイッチング素子32が高圧側、第2の半導体スイッチング素子33が低圧側に配置されても構わない。
 その他の点は、第1の実施形態と同様であるので、説明を省略する。
《第4の実施形態》
 図6は、この発明の第4の実施形態による車両用電源装置の構成を説明する回路図である。
 第4の実施形態が第2の実施形態と相違する点は、第2の実施形態では第2の半導体スイッチング素子33にNチャネル型FETを使っているのに対して、第4の実施形態では第2の半導体スイッチング素子33にPチャネル型FETを使っている点である。制御回路4によって第1の半導体スイッチング素子32及び第2の半導体スイッチング素子33各々のオン/オフ制御を行うような構成であれば、第2の半導体スイッチング素子33にPチャネル型FETを用いて、ゲート端子に負電位が印加されるように構成すれば、同様の動作を実現できる。
 その他の点は、第1の実施形態と同様であるので、説明を省略する。

Claims (5)

  1.  直流電源に接続される昇圧コンバータ回路と、
     前記直流電源の出力電圧を検出する電圧検出回路と、
     前記電圧検出回路の検出する前記出力電圧に応じて前記昇圧コンバータ回路を駆動して出力電圧を所定値にする制御回路と、を備えた車両用電源装置であって、
     前記昇圧コンバータ回路は、
     前記直流電源の両端に、少なくとも1つのインダクタと、2つの互いに直列に接続された半導体スイッチング素子とからなる直列回路が接続され、
     前記少なくとも1つのインダクタと、前記2つの互いに直列に接続された半導体スイッチング素子との接続点に接続される少なくとも1つの整流素子と、
     前記2つの互いに直列に接続された半導体スイッチング素子に対して並列に接続される少なくとも1つのコンデンサと、を備え、
     前記2つの半導体スイッチング素子は、互いのボディダイオードが逆極性となる向きに直列接続された車両用電源装置。
  2.  前記制御回路は、前記直流電源に接続されている負荷が重負荷状態であって、前記直流電源の電圧が過渡的に低下する場合において、前記昇圧コンバータ回路の出力電圧が前記直流電源の電圧になるように前記昇圧コンバータ回路を制御する、請求項1に記載の車両用電源装置。
  3.  前記昇圧コンバータ回路の負荷はパワーステアリング装置であって、前記制御回路は、前記パワーステアリング装置におけるステアリングの回転角情報に応じて、前記昇圧コンバータ回路の出力電圧が制御される、請求項1または2に記載の車両用電源装置。
  4.  前記2つの半導体スイッチング素子は、共にNチャネル型MOSFETであって、ドレイン端子同士またはソース端子同士が接続された、請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載の車両用電源装置。
  5.  前記2つの半導体スイッチング素子は互いにドレイン端子同士が接続され、低圧側の半導体スイッチング素子は前記制御回路によって制御され、高圧側の半導体スイッチング素子は、バイアス電圧を制御端子に印加するためのダイオードを備えた自己駆動型素子として構成された、請求項4に記載の車両用電源装置。
