- the ratios X 1 , X 2 , and X 2 / X 1 of the oxygen gas concentration contained in the liquefied chlorine and the purified liquefied chlorine are within a predetermined range, X 1 and X 2 depend on contact with zeolite over time.
- oxygen in the cylinder can be obtained in a period sufficient for a normal storage period of 25 days.
- a gas generation suppressing effect can be obtained, and the purity of high-purity chlorine can be maintained over a long period of time.
- the method for producing high-purity chlorine of the present invention is a method for suppressing oxygen gas generation after filling a cylinder, contacting liquefied chlorine with zeolite, filling the cylinder with the contacted chlorine obtained by this contact, It is characterized by suppressing the generation of oxygen gas inside.
- liquefied chlorine can be produced by an arbitrary production method, and for example, it is obtained by electrolyzing a salt solution to obtain chlorine gas, then dehydrating the chlorine gas with sulfuric acid, and then compressing and liquefying the chlorine gas. be able to.
- zeolite is used to adsorb causative substances that are considered to be brought into contact with liquefied chlorine to generate oxygen gas in the liquefied chlorine, and both natural products and synthetic products can be used.
- the shape of the zeolite can be arbitrarily selected, and examples thereof include pellets, beads, plates, rods, and tubes. Further, zeolite has a structure in which a large number of pores are formed.
- synthetic zeolite such as molecular sieve 3A, molecular sieve 4A, molecular sieve 5A and molecular sieve 13X, and mixtures thereof can be mentioned.
- the molecular sieve 4A, the molecular sieve 5A, the molecular sieve 13X, and a mixture thereof can be exemplified.
- molecular sieve 5A, molecular sieve 13X, and a mixture thereof can be exemplified.
- the maximum effective diameter is preferably 10 nm or less.
- the above “cylinder” is a container for storing purified liquefied chlorine purified by bringing liquefied chlorine into contact with zeolite. Purified liquefied chlorine can be shipped in a state of being filled in a cylinder.
- the material of the cylinder can be arbitrarily selected, and examples thereof include metal such as steel such as steel and stainless steel. Among these, iron cylinders can be a good example because they are inexpensive and widely used.
- the contact condition between the zeolite and the liquefied chlorine can be appropriately selected depending on conditions such as rectification.
- SV superficial velocity
- SV 0.1 to 50 [1 / hour] (preferably 1 to 25 [1 / hour]) Is preferred. This is because if the SV is too large, the effect of suppressing the generation of oxygen gas is reduced, and if the SV is too small, it is necessary to make the removal equipment larger.
- Liquefied chlorine can separate and remove the “non-condensable gas” by rectification.
- This non-condensable gas is an impurity having a lower boiling point than liquefied chlorine such as oxygen and nitrogen.
- the “impurities of high boiling point components” can be separated and removed by rectification.
- the impurities of the high boiling point component are impurities having a boiling point higher than that of liquefied chlorine such as bromine and metal.
- the liquefied chlorine before contacting with the zeolite is liquefied chlorine gas obtained by electrolyzing the salt solution, and then the liquefied product is rectified to separate the non-condensable gas. Subsequently, the rectified product is further rectified to obtain impurities having a high boiling point component. Furthermore, as illustrated in FIG. 2, the purified liquefied chlorine is rectified to separate non-condensable gas after contacting the zeolite and before filling the cylinder, and then the rectified product is further rectified. Thus, impurities having a high boiling point component can be separated and obtained.
- the contact treatment between zeolite and liquefied chlorine is performed before or after the rectification step, the effect of suppressing the generation of oxygen gas in the cylinder can be obtained. Further, when it is carried out before rectification, even if the zeolite powder to be contacted flows out, it is preferable in that the rectification treatment can prevent the powder from being mixed into the cylinder. Moreover, when performing before a cylinder filling after rectification, it is preferable from the point that it is easy to replace
- the concentration of the oxygen gas contained in the purified liquefied chlorine 25 days after contact with the zeolite is, for example, 0.01 to 1.5 vol. ppm (preferably 0.01 to 1.4, more preferably 0.01 to 1.3). Further, for example, 0.01 to 1.0 vol. ppm (preferably 0.01 to 0.9, more preferably 0.01 to 0.8).
- the oxygen gas concentration contained in the gas phase part of the cylinder filled with the purified liquefied chlorine 25 days after contact with the zeolite is, for example, 1 to 220 vol. ppm (preferably 1 to 180, more preferably 1 to 100).
- X 2 / X 1 representing the ratio of suppressing the increase in oxygen gas in the liquefied chlorine compared to the non-contact state due to contact with zeolite can be taken within the range of the values of X 1 and X 2.
- the range is 0.2 to 0.4, and X 1 and X 2 can be values satisfying the range of X 2 / X 1 within the above ranges.
- the effect of suppressing the generation of oxygen gas in the cylinder can be made more than a certain level, and the purity of high purity chlorine can be maintained over a long period of time.
- the concentration of oxygen gas contained in the liquefied chlorine is the concentration of oxygen gas measured in a state where the liquefied chlorine is made into a gas at room temperature.
- X 4 / X 3 representing the ratio of suppressing the increase in oxygen gas in the gas phase of the cylinder compared to the non-contact state due to contact with zeolite is taken within the range of the values of X 4 and X 3.
- the range can be 0.2 to 0.7.
- the effect of suppressing the generation of oxygen gas in the cylinder can be made more than a certain level, and the purity of high purity chlorine can be maintained over a long period of time.
- the analysis was performed by gas chromatography (product name G3900, manufactured by Hitachi, Ltd.) using PID as a detector, 2 m “UniBeads 1S” and 3 m “Molecular Sieve 13XS”, and helium gas as a carrier gas. Performed at ° C.
- the quantitative analysis of oxygen gas is performed on the liquefied chlorine part in the cylinder (hereinafter referred to as the liquid phase part) and the gas phase part in the cylinder, and the concentrations are shown in Table 1 and Table 2, respectively. It was.
- Example 2 purified liquefied chlorine was produced by the same production method as Example 1 except that 13X type synthetic zeolite (“Molecular Sieve 13X”, manufactured by Sakai Kogyo Co., Ltd.) having an effective pore diameter of 1.0 nm was used. And filled into a steel cylinder. Then, the quantitative analysis of oxygen gas was performed by the same method as Example 1. Further, as Comparative Example 1, a steel cylinder was filled without contacting zeolite with the liquefied chlorine raw material.
- 13X type synthetic zeolite (“Molecular Sieve 13X”, manufactured by Sakai Kogyo Co., Ltd.) having an effective pore diameter of 1.0 nm was used. And filled into a steel cylinder. Then, the quantitative analysis of oxygen gas was performed by the same method as Example 1. Further, as Comparative Example 1, a steel cylinder was filled without contacting zeolite with the liquefied chlorine raw material.
- Comparative Example 2 purified liquefied chlorine was obtained by the same production method as in Example 1 except that silica gel having an average pore diameter of 2.5 nm (“Unibeads 1S”, manufactured by GL Sciences Inc.) was used instead of zeolite. The steel cylinder was filled. Then, the quantitative analysis of oxygen gas was performed by the same method as Example 1.
- Oxygen gas concentration in the gas phase part one day after filling the cylinder As shown in Table 2, in Comparative Example 1 in which the oxygen gas concentration in the gas phase part one day after filling the cylinder did not contact the zeolite 92 vol. Example 1 in contact with zeolite was 28 vol. ppm, and Example 2 is 26 vol. It is ppm, and it can be seen that the content of oxygen gas at the time of cylinder filling is smaller than that in Comparative Example 1 as in the liquid phase part. In Comparative Example 2 in which liquefied chlorine was brought into contact with silica gel, the oxygen gas concentration in the gas phase portion was 81 vol. ppm, 28 vol. ppm and 26 vol. It can be seen that the effect of suppressing the oxygen gas content at the time of cylinder filling is smaller than that of ppm.
- Example 1 has a greater effect of suppressing the oxygen gas content than Comparative Example 2.
- Example 2 the oxygen gas concentration is maintained substantially constant in both the liquid phase portion and the gas phase portion, and the generation of oxygen gas in the cylinder is suppressed during a period sufficient as a normal storage period of 25 days. It turns out that an effect can be made more than fixed and purity can be maintained over a long period of time with high purity chlorine. Further, it can be seen that Examples 1 and 2 have a small oxygen gas concentration one day after cylinder filling, although the effective diameter of the pores is smaller than that of Comparative Example 2. In particular, it can be seen that Example 2 having an effective diameter of 1.0 nm has a great effect of suppressing an increase in oxygen gas even when a period of 25 days elapses. This is because, as illustrated in FIG. 3, Comparative Example 2 is a silica gel with a wide pore size distribution, whereas Examples 1 and 2 are molecular sieves (zeolites) with a very narrow pore size distribution. it is conceivable that.

Abstract
Description

これによって含有酸素ガスが0.6vol.ppm(液相部から採取した液化塩素を室温で全量気体にした体積濃度)の液化塩素を得た。
