- a conventional medium transport mechanism handles tickets of different sizes, and the width of the opposing belt is a size corresponding to the width of a large ticket. Therefore, when a large ticket is conveyed by the opposing belt, the large ticket is conveyed so that the side portion of the large ticket is along the traveling wall surface provided on the side of the opposing belt. Abstract
Description
また券をローラで挟持して搬送する構成となっている場合、ローラによって挟持された券を幅寄せ具によって押圧しても、券が動かずに走行壁面に寄せきれない。
上ベルト(第1の搬送ベルト)2は、2つのローラ3a、3bに巻きかけた無端状のベルトであって紙幣Pの上面に当接する位置に配され、図示しない駆動機構によってローラ3a、3bのいずれか一方が回転することで走行する。
上ベルト2と下ベルト5は、それぞれの一部が重なるように配置されており、その重なり合う部分で紙幣を挟持して搬送する。
また補助ローラ8の位置をローラ6a、6bの略中間に向かって徐々に高くなるように配置する。これにより、上ベルト2と下ベルト5との重なり合う部分が山形(上ベルト2に向かって湾曲した形状)となるようにしている。
なお、補助ローラ8が並ぶ間隔は、搬送方向に沿った紙幣の辺の長さが最も短い紙幣Pより短いものとし、その間隔に合わせて配される補助ローラ8の数が決定する。
また搬送ガイド10は、紙幣搬送方向の上流側の端部に下方への傾斜面が設けられていることで、搬送されてくる紙幣Pが上ベルト2と下ベルト5との間に入り込むのを案内する。
図2において、幅寄せガイド15は、上ベルト2および下ベルト5の紙幣Pの搬送方向に対し左右の一側に間隔をあけて配置されている。幅寄せガイド15は、搬送方向の上流から下流にかけて上ベルト2および下ベルト5側へと寄るように傾斜する傾斜面16と、その傾斜面16の終端側で傾斜面16につながって搬送方向に対する紙幣Pの横方向の基準位置を定めるための搬送基準面17を有する。
上述した構成の作用について説明する。
本発明の媒体搬送機構(装置)によって図1の矢印Aで示す紙幣Pの搬送方向に紙幣Pを搬送する場合、ローラ3aとローラ6aによって紙幣Pを挟持すると共に上ベルト2と下ベルト5との間に引き込む。次に下ベルト5と上ベルト2の走行によって紙幣Pを搬送する。
紙幣Pは、その端部が幅寄せガイド15の傾斜面16に沿うように搬送されていき、ここで紙幣Pは上ベルト2と下ベルト5に挟まれている。しかし、下ベルト5には補助ローラ8が配されているのに対して、上ベルト2にはローラ3a、3b以外のローラは配されていないため、紙幣Pに作用する摩擦は搬送方向と直交する方向に滑りを生じながら紙幣Pの一側が搬送基準面17へ導かれるようになる。
このようにして、紙幣Pは全て幅寄せガイド15の傾斜面16と搬送基準面17とに沿って整列させられながらその先へと搬送されるようになる。
以上説明したように、本実施例では、下ベルトに補助ローラを設けた。一方、上ベルトには上ベルトを巻きかけるローラ以外のローラを設けないことで上ローラと紙幣Pとの間に作用する摩擦力を少なくし、その紙幣Pが幅寄せガイドに当接したときに紙幣Pを搬送方向と直交する方向に滑りを生じながら搬送して、幅寄せガイドに沿って幅寄せして整列させる。このため、紙幣Pを整列させるための部材を設ける必要が無くなり媒体搬送機構(装置)の小型化を図ることができる。
また、上ベルトと下ベルトとの重なり合う部分を山形とすることによって、紙幣Pが上ベルトと下ベルトの間に入り込んだことでベルトが撓み、ベルトと対向ベルト間に隙間が生じることで紙幣が挟持できなくなってしまうのを防止する。
Claims (2)
- 少なくとも2つのローラに巻きかけられた第1の搬送ベルトと、
少なくとも2つのローラに巻きかけられかつ前記第1の搬送ベルトに重ねて配置された第2の搬送ベルトと、
前記第1、第2の搬送ベルトの一側に間隔をあけて配置され、媒体の幅寄せを行う傾斜面とこの傾斜面の終端側に形成された搬送基準面を有する幅寄せガイドを備え、
前記第1、第2の搬送ベルトで挟持して搬送している媒体を前記幅寄せガイドの前記傾斜面に当接させて幅寄せしたとき、前記媒体が前記第1、第2の搬送ベルトに対して搬送方向と直交する方向に滑りを生じながら媒体の一側が前記搬送基準面に導かれるようにした媒体搬送機構。 - 前記第2の搬送ベルトを巻きかけたローラ間に複数の補助ローラを設けて、該補助ローラを前記ローラよりも前記第1の搬送ベルト側に寄った位置に配することで前記第1の搬送ベルトと前記第2の搬送ベルトの重なり合った部分を前記第1の搬送ベルトに向かって湾曲した形状にし、
このベルトの前記形状に合わせて表面を前記第1の搬送ベルトに向かって湾曲した形状にした搬送ガイドを前記第2の搬送ベルト側方に設けて、幅寄せ時の媒体の端部を支える請求項1に記載の媒体搬送機構。
