Definitions
- the present invention relates to a dye-sensitized solar cell manufacturing kit.
- the present invention also relates to a method for producing a dye-sensitized solar cell using a dye-sensitized solar cell manufacturing kit.
- the present invention further relates to a dye-sensitized solar cell.
- Patent Document 1 proposes a dye-sensitized solar cell.
- a dye-sensitized solar cell is one of organic solar cells that absorb light with a dye and generate electric power through an electrochemical reaction, as in natural photosynthesis.
- Patent Document 2 discloses a dye-sensitized solar cell using a plastic substrate instead of a conventional glass substrate. The plastic substrate is characterized by being lightweight and flexible.
- Non-Patent Document 1 discloses a dye-sensitized solar cell using a metal substrate on the photoelectrode side and a plastic substrate on the counter electrode side. In this case, since an opaque metal substrate is used on the photoelectrode side, light is irradiated from the counter electrode side.
- Non-Patent Document 2 is a homepage of an assembly kit for a commercially available dye-sensitized solar cell. The assembly kit for the dye-sensitized solar cell is also described in Patent Document 3.
- the dye-sensitized solar cell is easier to manufacture and less expensive than other solar cells, and has excellent characteristics as a solar cell manufactured in an educational setting.
- Conventional dye-sensitized solar cell assembly kits utilize these features. However, when it is produced in an educational setting, it is necessary to make the manufacturing process of the dye-sensitized solar cell easier and safer (especially not to get injured). Moreover, since the production of the dye-sensitized solar cell using the kit is performed by a person other than an expert, the performance (sensitivity and photoelectric conversion efficiency) of the produced dye-sensitized solar cell is often low.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a method capable of producing a dye-sensitized solar cell with high performance even if it is manufactured by a person other than an expert.
- the present invention includes a photoelectrode member (1) including a conductive substrate (11) and a dye-sensitized semiconductor fine particle layer (12), a counter electrode member (2) including a conductive substrate (21), and an electrolyte.
- a dye-sensitized solar cell production kit comprising an electrolytic solution (3), wherein the conductive substrate (11) of the photoelectrode member (1) has a transparent polymer film (111) and a transparent conductive layer (112). It is a conductive substrate and the conductive substrate (21) of the counter electrode member (2) is a transparent conductive substrate having a transparent polymer film (211) and a transparent conductive layer (212) made of a metal mesh.
- a dye-sensitized solar cell production kit is provided.
- the dye-sensitized solar cell manufacturing kit can further include an electrolyte sealing material (5).
- the dye-sensitized solar cell fabrication kit can also include a long (eg, tape-shaped) metal terminal (7).
- the electrolyte solution (3) for the charge transport layer contains 0.05 to 5 M of aliphatic quaternary ammonium ions represented by the following formula (I) in an organic solvent and imidazolium ions represented by the following formula (II). 0.05 to 5M and iodide ion 0.1 to 10M can be dissolved. Thereby, the ratio of the triiodide ion with respect to the iodide ion in electrolyte solution can be made into less than 1 mol%.
- R 11 , R 12 , R 13 , and R 14 are each independently an aliphatic group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms;
- R 21 and R 22 are each independently an aliphatic group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms.
- the present invention also provides a photoelectrode member (1) comprising a transparent conductive substrate (11) having a transparent polymer film (111) and a transparent conductive layer (112), and a dye-sensitized semiconductor fine particle layer (12),
- Is a method for producing a dye-sensitized solar cell from a solar cell production kit, comprising a conductive redox catalyst layer containing graphite on a transparent conductive layer (212) made of a metal mesh of a counter electrode member (2) (22) forming step, electrolysis on at least one of the semiconductor fine particle layer (12) of the photoelectrode member (1) and the conductive redox catalyst layer (22) of the counter electrode member (2).
- the dye-sensitized semiconductor fine particle layer (12) of the photoelectrode member (1) is provided in the central region of one surface of the conductive substrate (11), and the conductive redox catalyst of the counter electrode member (2).
- the layer (22) is preferably provided in the central region of one surface of the conductive substrate (21). The edge of the surface of the photoelectrode member (1) where the semiconductor fine particle layer (12) is provided on the transparent conductive substrate (11) and the transparent conductive substrate (21) of the counter electrode member (2).
- the present invention further includes a transparent polymer film (211), a transparent conductive layer (212) made of a metal mesh, a conductive redox catalyst layer (22), a charge transport layer made of an electrolyte solution (3) containing an electrolyte,
- a solar cell characterized in that a sensed semiconductor fine particle layer (12), a transparent conductive layer (112), and a transparent polymer film (111) are laminated in this order.
- the charge transport layer made of the electrolyte solution (3) containing an electrolyte is preferably sealed with a tape (5) having adhesiveness on both sides. Furthermore, it is preferable that a long metal terminal is connected to the transparent conductive layer.
- the electrolyte solution (3) for the charge transport layer contains 0.05 to 5 M of aliphatic quaternary ammonium ions represented by the above formula (I) in an organic solvent, and imidazolium ions represented by the above formula (II). 0.05 to 5M and iodide ion 0.1 to 10M can be dissolved. Thereby, the ratio of the triiodide ion with respect to the iodide ion in electrolyte solution can be made into less than 1 mol%.
- the present invention uses a transparent conductive film comprising a transparent polymer film and a transparent conductive layer as a conductive substrate for a photoelectrode member, and a transparent conductive layer comprising a transparent polymer film and a metal mesh as a conductive substrate for a counter electrode member.
- a transparent conductive substrate having the above is used.
- a transparent conductive substrate comprising a transparent polymer film and a transparent conductive layer as the conductive substrate of the photoelectrode member
- a high power generation output can be obtained without losing light.
- a nonmetal eg, metal oxide
- the transparent conductive layer of the photoelectrode member a nonmetal (eg, metal oxide) has been conventionally used. There is a problem that nonmetals have higher resistance than metals.
