Definitions
- the present invention relates to a magnetosensitive wire having excellent hysteresis characteristics, a magnetoimpedance element (hereinafter referred to as “MI element”) and a magnetoimpedance sensor (hereinafter referred to as “MI sensor”) using the magnetosensitive wire.
- MI element magnetoimpedance element
- MI sensor magnetoimpedance sensor
- MI effect A magneto-impedance effect (hereinafter referred to as “MI effect”) is known in which the impedance changes with a magnetic field due to the skin effect when a high-frequency pulse current is passed through an amorphous wire of a CoFeSiB alloy.
- a high-sensitivity magnetic sensor using an MI element that detects this change by a detection coil wound around an amorphous wire, that is, an MI sensor, is currently used in mobile phones and the like.
- the conventional sensor has a problem of poor hysteresis characteristics. This problem is caused by the magnetic domain structure of the amorphous wire that is a magnetosensitive wire.
- FIG. 6 is a perspective view schematically showing a magnetic domain structure inside the amorphous wire constituting such a conventional magnetic sensitive wire.
- the magnetic sensing wire 9 is divided into two layers, a surface layer portion 91 and a core portion 92, depending on the magnetic domain structure.
- the spin is directed in a constant circumferential direction. Therefore, since the entire spin is closed as a circumference, there is no domain wall in the surface layer portion 91.
- the core portion 92 on the inner peripheral side of the surface layer portion 91 has a multi-domain structure and has many domain walls. In addition, a domain wall exists at the interface between the surface layer portion 91 and the core portion 92 because the direction of each spin changes discontinuously.
- the conventional magnetic sensing wire 9 has a spin structure (array) in which the spin is directed in the circumferential direction with a constant spin in the surface layer portion 91, but has a multi-domain structure in the core portion 92, and as a whole a magnetic composite It was a structure.
- the present invention provides a magnetosensitive wire excellent in hysteresis characteristics suitable for a magnetic sensor and the like, an MI element using the same, and an MI sensor.
- the expression of hysteresis is caused by the movement of the domain wall inside the magnetosensitive wire having a multi-domain structure when a magnetic field is applied. Therefore, the present inventor first came up with the idea of making the multi-domain structure having domain walls into a vortex spin structure having no domain walls, and succeeded in obtaining a vortex spin structure magnetosensitive wire for the first time. By developing this result, a series of the present invention described below has been completed.
- the magnetosensitive wire of the present invention has a vortex spin structure.
- the “vortex spin structure” means that each spin is continuously arranged in a certain circumferential direction in the wire surface layer portion, and each spin is made of an amorphous wire in the inner portion on the inner peripheral side of the surface layer portion. As the wire approaches the center, the wire rotates gradually from the circumferential direction to the axial direction.
- spin means a magnetic moment per atom.
- the vortex spin structure may consist only of the structure of the inner part. The area occupied by the inner part increases or decreases depending on the wire composition, internal stress, and shape.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective sectional view for schematically explaining a magnetosensitive wire having a vortex spin structure.
- the cross section A is a plane perpendicular to the axial direction of the wire
- the cross section B is a plane cut at the central portion along the axial direction of the wire.
- the magnetosensitive wire 1 is composed of two layers of a surface layer portion 11 and an inner portion 12 having different spin arrangements. First, the surface layer portion 11 will be described. In the surface layer portion 11 of the cross section A, the spin is directed in a constant circumferential direction. Therefore, the spins are continuously arranged as a whole and closed in the circumferential direction (circulated or refluxed), and there is no domain wall in the surface layer portion 11.
- Each spin existing in the X1-X2-X3-Y1 region (shown by the X1-X5 line in FIG. 1 as a representative example) of the cross section B constituting the surface layer portion 11 has the same spin arrangement as that of the outermost surface of the surface layer portion 11. It has become.
- the spin arrangement of the inner part 12 will be described.
- the spin at the boundary (X5) between the surface layer portion 11 and the inner portion 12 is The same direction as the spin.
- X5 to X6 that is, as it approaches the axial center, the spin gradually inclines from the circumferential direction toward the axial direction, and the axial direction (of the magnetosensitive wire 1 of the magnetic sensing wire 1) is increased at the axial center (X6).
- the direction matches the (centerline direction).
- spin tilt arrangement exists similarly on the Y1-Y2 line on the cross section B and also in any part of the Y1-X3-X6-Y3 region of the cross section B.
- the spins are continuously arranged at the interface between the surface layer portion 11 and the inner portion 12 and there is no domain wall.
- Such an entire spin arrangement is called a vortex spin structure in the present invention.
- the “spin arrangement” in this specification mainly means the distribution of the magnetic moment of each spin, but the “spin arrangement” is also simply referred to as “spin” as appropriate.
- the magnetosensitive wire of the present invention is used for an MI sensor, for example.
- the outline of the MI sensor is as follows. All spins tilt in the direction of the applied magnetic field according to the magnitude of the applied magnetic field, which is the applied magnetic field.
- a pulse current flows through the magnetosensitive wire, a magnetic field is formed in the circumferential direction of the magnetosensitive wire by the pulse current, and spins in the magnetosensitive wire are directed in the circumferential direction.
- the MI sensor detects a change due to the spin rotation of the magnetosensitive wire with a pickup coil or detects a change in impedance of the wire.
- the contents described below are appropriately applied not only to the magnetosensitive wire according to the present invention but also to MI elements and MI sensors using the same.
- the magnetosensitive wire of the present invention one or two or more configurations arbitrarily selected from the following contents can be added to the above-described configuration. Note that which embodiment is the best depends on the target, required performance, and the like.
- the thickness of the inner portion (“d” of the inner portion 11 in FIG. 1) can take up to the radius of the wire.
- the vortex spin structure of the present invention is not a two-dimensional structure such as a thin film (in the field of nanodots) but a three-dimensional structure.
- the present invention is the first knowledge regarding this three-dimensional vortex spin structure. Unlike the conventional three-dimensional structure that detects not only the rotation of the spin but also the movement of the domain wall, the vortex spin structure of the present invention has no domain wall (domain). For this reason, the MI sensor of the present invention has an excellent effect that only the spin rotation is completely detected and the hysteresis is zero. Therefore, the present invention is also a magnetosensitive wire having no domain wall (magnetic domain).

- the alloy used is preferably a Co—Fe—Si—B-based zero magnetostrictive material.
- the diameter is preferably 15 ⁇ m or less. Further, when the wire diameter is less than 0.5 ⁇ m, the volume of the wire becomes small, and the sensor sensitivity is lowered so that it cannot be used as a sensor.
- the diameter of the magnetosensitive wire of the present invention is preferably, for example, 0.5 to 15 ⁇ m.
- the internal stress is adjusted by, for example, heat treatment performed while applying tension to the wire (hereinafter referred to as “tension annealing”), heat treatment performed while applying current, or the like.
- tension annealing heat treatment performed while applying tension to the wire
- the heat treatment at this time is performed below the temperature at which the amorphous is completely crystallized.
- the present invention is also a magneto-impedance element using the magnetosensitive wire having the above-described vortex spin structure as a magnetic detector.
- the present invention is also grasped as a magneto-impedance element using a magnetic sensing wire having no domain wall (magnetic domain) as a magnetic detector.
- the MI element of the present invention only needs to replace the conventionally known MI element by replacing only the magnetosensitive wire as the magnetic detector with the above-described magnetosensitive wire of the present invention.
- the structure of the MI element itself is known, for example, in International Publication WO2003 / 071299, International Publication W02005 / 019851, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2005-227297, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No.

- the MI sensor detects a change in the spin direction with a detection coil or detects a change in the impedance of the wire. A similar change occurs when the pulse current is interrupted and can be detected.
- the present invention can be grasped not only as the above-mentioned magnetosensitive wire and MI element but also as an MI sensor using them.

Next, after the pulse current rises, the analog switch 622 is switched (on-off) for a short time at a predetermined timing by the sample timing adjustment circuit 621. As a result, the analog switch 622 samples and transmits the voltage corresponding to the external magnetic field generated in the detection coil 3 to the amplifier 623. Abstract
Description

はFull Scale(フルスケール)を意味する。
