Abstract

Die Erfindung befasst sich mit einem autothermen Verfahren zur kontinuierlichen Vergasung von kohlenstof freichen Substanzen (14) in einem vertikalen Prozessraum (100) mit einer Kalzinierzone (C) und einer Oxidationszone (D), in welcher die kalzinierten kohlenstoffreichen Substanzen mit sauerstoffhaltigem Gas oxidieren, wobei die gasförmigen Reaktionsprodukte an der Oberseite (G) des vertikalen Prozessraumes (100) abgezogen werden. Der vertikale Prozessraum wird in der Form eines Vertikalschachtofens (100) ausgebildet, der von einem im Kreislauf geführten Schüttgut (13), das selbst nicht oxidiert wird, kontinuierlich von oben nach unten durchströmt wird, wobei die kohlenstoffreichen Substanzen (14) dem Schüttgut (13) vor dem Eintritt (3) in den Ofen beigegeben werden und das sauerstoffhaltige Gas in und/oder unterhalb der Oxidationszone (D) eingeleitet wird, wodurch der aufsteigende Gasstrom gefördert wird. Durch Einleitung wenigstens eines Teils des sauerstoffhaltigen Gases am unteren Ende (4) des Vertikalschachtofens (100) wird eine Nachkühlzone (F) ausgebildet, in welcher das Schüttgut auf unter 100°C abgekühlt wird.
