Abstract

 本発明は、メタクロレインを分子状酸素により気相接触酸化してメタクリル酸を製造するにあたり、触媒を長期間使用可能な方法を提供することを目的とする。本発明では、モリブデンおよびリンを含有する複合酸化物からなる触媒の存在下、原料であるメタクロレインを分子状酸素により気相接触酸化して、メタクリル酸を製造するにあたり、285°C以上305°C以下の反応温度範囲で前記原料の反応率が一定になるように、反応圧力を段階的または連続的に変更する圧力制御を行うとともに、当該圧力制御と同時または独立に反応ガス中の分子状酸素/原料のモル比を段階的または連続的に変更するモル比制御を行う。
