高い発光輝度を示し、且つ低駆動電圧の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子、及び該素子を用いた照明装置、表示装置を提供することが目的であり、該有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子は下記一般式(1)で表される化合物を少なくとも1種含有することを特徴とする。
(式中、Aは下記一般式(A)で表されるが、複数のAは互いに同じでも異なってもよい。n1は6~8の整数を表す。X11、X12は窒素原子またはCR13を表す。R13、R14は水素原子または置換基を表すが、互いに結合して環を形成することはない。X11とX12のいずれもCR13で表される場合、R13は同じでも異なっていてもよい。xは0または1の整数を表す。xが1の場合、-Y-、-Z-は直接結合または-O-、-S-、-N(R15)-のいずれかで表される。R15は置換基を表す。)
