Abstract
シリーズ式ハイブリッド電気自動車(1)に搭載されたエンジン(2)の排気通路に、アンモニア選択還元型NOx触媒(48)が介装され、アンモニア選択還元型NOx触媒(48)の上流側で尿素水を供給する尿素水インジェクタ(62)が設けられる。バッテリ(8)の充電状態に応じて始動されたエンジン(2)は、排気温度が所定温度(Ta)に達するまで、第1運転モードで運転され、尿素水の供給は停止される。一方、排気温度が所定温度(Ta)に達すると、エンジン(2)が第2運転モードで運転されると共に、尿素水が尿素水インジェクタ(62)から供給される。エンジン(2)が第1運転モードで運転される場合、第2運転モードで運転される場合に比べNOxの排出が抑制される。
