Abstract

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de coussin de sécurité gonflable (10) installé dans un véhicule (20) comportant des sièges disposés mutuellement adjacents dans la direction latérale du véhicule. Une section de rangement de coussin gonflable (12) est formée entre les sièges (22L, 22R). Un coussin gonflable (11) ayant une ouverture d'introduction de gaz ainsi qu'un dispositif de gonflage (13) pour éjecter du gaz dans le coussin gonflable (11) sont rangés dans la section de rangement de coussin gonflable (12). Le dispositif de gonflage (12) est placé de sorte que la direction d'éjection de gaz est orientée vers le haut. Le coussin gonflable (11), lors de la réception du gaz provenant du dispositif de gonflage (12), se gonfle sensiblement vers le haut pour engager un plafond intérieur du véhicule (25), et le plafond intérieur du véhicule (25) oriente la direction du gonflage. Ensuite, le coussin gonflable (11) se gonfle, se dilatant vers l'avant, et se gonfle ensuite vers le bas pour se trouver dans un état gonflé maximal.
