Abstract

ガスタービン、ラム設備、ロケットエンジン等の速度型内燃機関での着火、火炎の広がり及び維持を抜本的に改善することのできる着火・化学反応促進・保炎装置及びそれを用いた高性能の速度型内燃機関を提供する。 速度型内燃機関の着火・化学反応促進・保炎装置は、速度型内燃機関の燃焼器104内の所定位置に荷電粒子を準備するスパークプラグ110と、荷電粒子及びその周辺に向けてマイクロ波パルスを照射することにより、燃焼器内の作動流体を原料とするプラズマを誘起させるマイクロ波発振器116及びアンテナ112とを備え、プラズマの作用によって作動流体から生じる活性化学種を供給することにより、燃焼器内に燃焼が行われるための十分条件を満たす領域を形成する。
