Abstract

 本発明の情報記録媒体(100)は、光の照射または電気的エネルギーの印加によって情報を記録し得る情報記録媒体であって、相変化を生じ得る記録層(115)を少なくとも備えている。記録層(115)は、アンチモン(Sb)と、炭素(C)と、原子量が33未満である軽元素(L)とを含む。軽元素(L)は、B、N、O、Mg、AlおよびSから選ばれる少なくとも一つの元素であることが好ましい。例えば、記録層(115)は、組成式Sb100-x-yCxLy(但し、添え字100-x-y、xおよびyは、原子%で表されるSb、CおよびLの組成比を示す。)で表され、且つxおよびyがx+y≦50を満たす材料からなるものであってもよい。
