Abstract

 光導波路素子の製造や光導波路素子と入力導波手段との調芯などの歩留まりを改善し、Y分岐導波路における分岐比を均等化することが可能な光導波路素子の光軸調整方法を提供することであり、その結果、構造が複雑化することを抑制すると共に、小型化できる光導波路素子を提供可能とすることを目的とする。  基板に光導波路を形成し、該光導波路は少なくとも直線導波路6と該直線導波路から分岐するY分岐導波路7とを有する光導波路素子5と、該光導波路素子5に光波を入力する入力導波手段3を接続する際の光軸調整方法において、該入力導波手段3を介して該直線導波路に広帯域光又は波長の異なる2以上の単波長光(光源1,2)を入力し、該Y分岐導波路の各分岐アーム8,9から出力される光波10,11の光強度が略等しくなるように、光導波路素子5と入力導波手段3との光軸を調整することを特徴とする光導波路素子の光軸調整方法である。
