Abstract

　本発明は、偏波が異なる導波光の導波モードが互いに異なるように形成された第１および第２の光導波路１１，１２を備える。第１の光導波路１１は方向性結合領域１３を含む。そして、第２の光導波路１２は、方向性結合領域１３を含み第１の光導波路１１と平行に設けられた入射側導波路１２ａと、この入射側導波路１２ａから延ばされ第１の光導波路１１から離れる方向に曲げられた出射側導波路１２ｂとを有する。
