Abstract

本発明は、腎臓、すい臓、胸腺及び毛などの複数種の細胞からなる複雑な細胞構成を有する哺乳動物の臓器を、非ヒト動物の生体中で作成することを課題とする。本発明者らは、上述したキメラ動物・アッセイを、固形臓器の新規作製方法に応用した。より具体的には、上述したキメラ動物・アッセイを、成体腎臓の大部分へ分化する後腎間葉の機能異常により腎臓、すい臓、胸腺及び毛が欠損するモデルマウスを、胚盤胞補完作用(blastocyst complementation)によりレスキューすることにより、新規に腎臓、すい臓、胸腺及び毛を製造することができることを示した。
