圧電性合成樹脂膜の形成方法

[0001] 本発明は、電気絶縁用、防食用、等々として有用である圧電性榭脂膜の形成方法 に関し、詳しくは、製造コストを引き下げ、少ない設備投資で大面積の圧電性榭脂膜 を形成することができる圧電性榭脂膜の形成方法に関する。
背景技術
[0002] 従来、圧電性榭脂膜を形成方法する方法として、例えば、 4, 4' ジフヱニルメタ ンジイソシアナ一 HMDI)のようなジイソシアナート化合物と、 4, 4' ージアミノジフエ -ルメタン (MDA)のようなジァミンィ匕合物を同時に蒸発させてポリ尿素膜を形成す る、いわゆる蒸着合法が知られている (例えば、特許文献 1参照。 )o
[0003] し力しながら、特許文献 1に記載の方法では、ジイソシアナ一トイ匕合物と、ジァミン化 合物の二種類のモノマーを同時に蒸発させてポリ尿素膜を形成するため、各モノマ 一の蒸発温度が異なることにより、形成されるポリ尿素膜内のモノマー組成比が、化 学量論組成比とは異なったものになってしまうという問題があり、各モノマーの温度を 個別に設定し、温度をコントロールしながら蒸着する必要があった。この温度制御を 避けるために、ジイソシアナートのみにモノマーを限定して、水と反応させるという方 法が提案されている (例えば、特許文献 2参照。 )0しカゝしながら、この提案されている 方法では、モノマーの選択が限定されるという欠点があった。また、これら提案されて いる蒸着重合では、厚い蒸着膜形成には時間を要すること、大面積の圧電膜を形成 するには、大型の真空設備が必要となり、設備投資への負荷が増大するという欠点 かあつた。

[0006] 1.尿素結合、エステル結合、アミド結合およびイミド結合力 選ばれる少なくとも 1 つの結合を含む極性基を有する榭脂を合成する原料モノマーを、反応温度条件が 5 °C以上、 60°C以下で、重合度が 4以上、 300以下の榭脂として予め合成した後、該 予め合成した榭脂を基体上に塗布し、 70°C以上、 250°C以下で分極処理を行いな がら該予め合成した榭脂を重合させて、該基体上に圧電性合成樹脂膜を形成するこ とを特徴とする圧電性合成樹脂膜の形成方法。

発明の効果

発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0011] 以下、本発明を実施するための最良の形態について説明するが、本発明はこれら に限定されない。
[0012] 本発明の圧電性合成樹脂膜の形成方法は、尿素結合、エステル結合、アミド結合 およびイミド結合カゝら選ばれる少なくとも 1つの結合を含む極性基を有する榭脂を合
成するための原料モノマーを、反応温度条件が 5°C以上、 60°C以下で、重合度が 4 以上、 300以下の榭脂として予め合成した後、該予め合成した榭脂を基体上に塗布 し、 70°C以上、 250°C以下で分極処理を行いながら該予め合成した榭脂を重合させ て、該基体上に圧電性合成樹脂膜を形成することを特徴とする。
[0013] 本発明に係る予め合成させた榭脂(プレボリマー)の重合に際しては、 60°C以下で 重合を行うことが重要である。特に温度としては、 5°Cから 35°Cの範囲であることが好 ましい。本発明に係る予め合成させた榭脂 (プレボリマー)は、重合度を上げないこと が好ましいので、温度は低くてよいが、あまり低いと冷却設備や冷却電力が必要とな るので好ましくない。また、 60°C以下であれば、適度に重合が進み、過度の粘度上 昇を抑制することができ、塗布適性を付与することができると共に、溶媒の選択幅が 広がる観点力 好ましい。反応時間は、反応量や温度によるので、適宜調節が必要 であるが、短 、時間に調節することは生産性の上からも好ま 、。
[0014] 本発明に係る予め合成させた榭脂(プレボリマー)は、重合度が 4以上、 300以下で あることを特徴とし、好ましくは、 6以上、 200以下である。重合度力 以上であること で塗布性の良好な液物性が得られ均一塗布の効果が奏されて好ましい。かつ、 300 以下であることで溶媒への溶解性が良好となる効果が奏されて好ましい。
[0015] 予め合成させた榭脂を基体上に塗布し、更に重合させるにあたっては、 70°C以上 、 250°C以下の温度範囲で分極処理を行いながら更に重合させることを特徴の一つ とする。本発明においては、 70°C以上、 250°C以下の温度範囲である力 好ましくは 80°C以上、 200°C以下である。温度を 70°C以上とすることにより、重合が好ましく進 行し、制御し易い効果を発現させることができ好ましい。また、温度を 250°C以下とす ることにより、急激な重合進行や解重合が抑制できる効果を奏する点で好ましい。
[0016] 本発明の圧電性榭脂膜の形成方法は、前記の通り、原料モノマーを予め低温下で 低分子量の重合反応を行い、この低分子量重合物 (プレボリマー)を基体上に塗布し 、乾燥時に高温下でコロナ放電による分極処理を行い、より高い重合度を得ると同時 に分極処理を行わせるようにした圧電性の合成樹脂膜の形成方法である。
[0017] 本発明に係る圧電性榭脂膜を構成する榭脂材料としては、極性基として、例えば、 尿素基、エステル基、アミド基、イミド基、スルホ二ル基を有する榭脂であって、尿素
榭脂、ポリエステル榭脂、ポリアミド榭脂、ポリイミド榭脂等が適用できる。
[0018] 特に好ましい榭脂は、尿素基を有する尿素樹脂であって、ジイソシアナ一トイ匕合物 のみ、又はジイソシアナ一トイ匕合物及びジァミンィ匕合物を原料モノマーとして、先ず 低分子量の重合を行わせたもの(プレボリマー)を使用する。

ポリアミドの場合は、本発明に係る予め合成させた榭脂(プレボリマー)として、重合 度の低いポリアミドを適用することが好ましい。通常、ポリアミドは、ジァミンとジカルボ ン酸の反応であるが、ジカルボン酸を酸クロリドとして縮合させる方法よりも、環状の力 プロラタタムを使用することが好ましい。代表的ポリアミドとしは、例えば、ポリアミド 6, ポジアミド、 66,ポジアミド、 610,ポジアミド、 612,ポジアミド、 11,ポジアミド、 12,ポジアミド、 MX D6,ポリアミド 46等を挙げることができる。ポリエステルとしては、例えば、ポリエチレ ンテレフタレート、ポリエチレンナフタレート等を挙げることができる。

[0026] 好ましい酸無水物の具体例としては、 2, 2 ビス [4 (3, 4ージカルボキシフエノキ シ)フエ-ル]プロパン二無水物、 4, 4' ビス(3, 4—ジカルボキシフエノキシ)ジフ ェ-ルエーテル二無水物、 4, 4' ビス(3, 4—ジカルボキシフエノキシ)ジフエ-ル スルフイド二無水物、 4, 4' —ビス(3, 4—ジカルボキシフエノキシ)ベンゾフエノン二 無水物、 4, 4' ビス(3, 4—ジカルボキシフエノキシ)ジフエ-ルスルホン二無水物 、 2, 2ビス [4— (2, 3 ジカルボキシフエノキシ)フエ-ル]プロパン二無水物、 4, 4' ビス(2, 3 ジカルボキシフエノキシ)ジフエ-ルエーテル二無水物等である。
[0027] 本発明に係る予め合成させた榭脂(プレボリマー)の重合度は、 4〜300であること がーつの特徴である。重合度が 300以下であれば、過度の粘度上昇の抑制ど塗布 性、分極処理の点から好ましい。また、重合を分極処理させながら進めることで、分 極処理の効率を上げることができる。榭脂の重合が進んだところで分極処理するより は、重合しながら分極処理を進めることが好ましい。分極処理には、直流矩形波、直 流パルス波等を選択することができる。分極処理するときの榭脂の温度は、ガラス転 移点付近が好ましぐ融点以下であれば、温度を適宜調整してもよい。ガラス転移点
より高いときは短時間の分極処理を施し、ガラス転移点より低い時は、長い時間の分 極処理するようになるため、時間と温度は適宜選択することが好ま ヽ。
[0028] 重合度が 4〜300の尿素樹脂(プレボリマー)は、アミンィ匕合物とイソシァネートイ匕合 物とを無溶剤、あるいは溶剤中で、反応させて得ることができる。尿素樹脂は、重合 度が 100以上では高粘度になるため有機溶剤中で反応を行うこともできる。
[0029] 本発明で適用可能な有機溶剤としては、例えば、低揮発性のエチレングリコールジ ェチルエステル如きエステル系溶剤;メチルセ口ソルブ、セロソルブ、ブチノレセロソノレ ブ、イソブチルセ口ソルブ、 tーブチノレセロソノレブ、イソプロピルセロソルブ、へキシノレ セロソルブ、メトキシブタノール、 3—メチルー 3—メトキシブタノール、メチルカルビト ール、カノレビトーノレ、ブチノレカノレビトーノレ、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、 ジプロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、メチルダリコールアセテート、酢酸セロソ ルブ、ブチルダリコールアセテート、酢酸メトキシプロピル、酢酸メトキシブチル、酢酸 カルビトール、酢酸ブチルカルビトール、ソルフイットアセテート等のグリコールエーテ ル系溶剤が好ましい。
[0030] 本発明の圧電性合成樹脂膜の形成方法で得られる尿素樹脂の分極処理後の最終 数平均分子量は、耐久性の点から 10, 000-100, 000であること力 子ましく、なか でも 20, 000-60, 000であることが特に好ましい。本発明でいう数平均分子量とは 、ゲルパーミエーシヨンクロマトグラフ(GPC)により測定された値で示される分子量を いい、その数値はポリスチレン換算値で示される。
[0031] また、本発明においては、分極処理時の温度は、 70°C以上、 250°C以下であること を特徴の一つとし、好ましくは 80°C以上、 200°C以下である。分極処理時の温度が 7 0°C以上であれば、分子運動が分極に適した状態になる効果が奏されて好ましい。ま た、 250°C以下であれば、制御された分子配列が再び乱れることがなくなる効果が奏 されて好ましい。
[0032] ポリ尿素樹脂のプレボリマーを合成する際に溶媒を使用する場合、コロナ放電処理 時の引火爆発などの危険性を避けるため、溶媒の揮発成分が十分に除去されている ことが安全上必要である。
[0033] 本発明に係る分極処理に使用するコロナ放電処理は、市販のコロナ放電発生装置
を使用して処理することができる。放電の処理条件は、機器により異なるので適宜条 件を選択することが好ましい。コロナ放電処理は、コロナ放電を発生させる高電圧電 源として、高電圧直流を発生する電源供給部と高電圧直流を高電圧パルスに変換 するパルス形成部を有し、波高値が 1〜: LOOkV、パルス幅が 100msec〜lps、パル ス頻度が 10〜: LOOOppsの電圧ノ ルスを発生する電源を備えたコロナ放電処理装置 が好ましい。例えば周波数 50Z60HZの交流電源を直流に変換し、昇圧トランスによ り高電圧直流を発生する電源供給部と、得られた高電圧直流を公知の送風方式の ギャップスィッチによるパルス形成回路によって高電圧パルスに変換するパルス形成 部を備えたものなどによって発生させることができる。一般的に、電極間隔を数セン チ程度にまで広げた場合に、コロナ放電を起こさせるには、数百 kV以上の高電圧を 印カロしなければならないが、このような高電圧を印カロした場合、放電が一ヶ所に集中 する火花 (アーク)放電が発生するおそれがある。高電圧パルスは火花放電を生じる ことなぐ均一で安定なコロナ放電処理を行うことを可能とするために有効なものであ る。この高電圧パルスの波高値は、好ましくは 1〜: LOOkVの範囲であり、またパルス 幅は 100ms〜700nsの範囲が実用上好ましぐさらにパルス頻度は、パルス頻度が 多いほど処理効率が向上する力 実用上 1〜: LOOOppsの範囲が好ましい。コロナ放 電密度としては、 10mWZm2〜100WZm2が好ましい。特に好ましい範囲は、 100 mWZnT〜50WZnTである。
本発明に係る基体は、圧電榭脂の使用方法によりその選択は異なる。圧電榭脂層 を複数積層する使用方法においては、基体であるセラミック圧電素子上に本発明に 係る圧電榭脂層を電極を介して、重畳層する方法がある。セラミック圧電素子として は、 PZTが屡々使用されるが、近年は鉛を含まないものが推奨される。 PZTは、 Pb ( Zrl— xTix) 0 (0. 47≤x≤l)の式の範囲以内が好ましぐ脱鉛としては、天然又は

人工の水晶、ニオブ酸リチウム(LiNbO )、ニオブ酸タンタル酸カリウム [K(Ta, Nb)

O ]、チタン酸バリウム(BaTiO )、タンタル酸リチウム(LiTaO )、又はチタン酸スト口

ンチウム(SrTiO )等である。各種セラミック材料はその使用性能において組成を適

実施例
[0035] 以下、実施例を挙げて本発明を具体的に説明するが、本発明はこれらに限定され ない。
[0036] 圧電性尿素樹脂膜の形成の実施例を示す。
[0037] 実施例 1
《プレボリマーの合成》
温度制御付きの 500mlのフラスコに、 3, 3' —ジメチルジフエ-ルー 4, 4' —ジィ ソシアナートを 0. 1モル(29g)と、 3, 3' —ジメチルジフエ-ルー 4, 4' —ジァミンを 0. 1モル(24g)秤量し、 5°Cに保ちながら 10分間 122rpmZminで攪拌混合させて 、プレポリマーを合成した。分子量を東ソ一社製の GPC (HLC— 8220GPC)を使用 して測定した結果、分子量は 11, 700、重合度 22 (プレボリマー 1)であった。
[0038] 次いで、上記プレポリマー 1の合成において、温度をそれぞれ 10°C、 20°C、 40°C、 60°C、 70°Cに変化させて重合した以外は同様にして、プレボリマー 2 (重合度 41)、 プレポリマー 3 (重合度 63)、プレポリマー 4 (重合度 94)、プレポリマー 5 (重合度 224 )、プレボリマー 6 (重合度 360)をそれぞれ合成した。
[0039] 《圧電素子の作製: PZT膜上にプレボリマーの塗布と分極処理》
前記プレポリマー(プレポリマー 1〜5)を、 10質量%となる様にジメチルホルムアミド (以降、 DMFと略記する)に溶解し、電極付の PZT膜上に乾燥膜厚が 30 mの厚さ になるように塗布して尿素樹脂膜を形成し、圧電素子 1〜5を作製した。なお、プレボ リマー 6は、 DMFに不溶解せず、また高粘度であるため除外した。得られた各尿素 榭脂膜のそれぞれの赤外吸収スペクトルでは、 1650± 2cm_1付近に生成した尿素 結合の吸収がみられ、生成した膜がポリ尿素であることを確認した。
[0040] この尿素樹脂膜上に、温度 180°Cで 10分間、 2WZm2のコロナ放電密度で放電分 極処理(タンテック社製、 HV2010)を行った。
[0041] 《評価方法》
本発明の形成方法により得られた圧電素子 1〜5について、超音波試験装置 (ソノ 一ラメディカルシステム社(Sonora Medical Systems, Inc : 2021 Miller Drive Longmont, Colorado (0501 USA) )の音響強度測定システム Model805 (l〜 50MHz)測定システム)を使用して、耐圧電試験を行い、得られた送受信波形を観
測した。送信は、 PZT膜の両端面にパルス電圧を印力!]して行い、受信は榭脂膜の両 端の電圧信号を読みとり性能を評価した。なお、測定はパルス電圧 4V、試料の開口 面積 3cm2で行った。
[0042] 以上により得られた結果を、表 1に示す。

[0044] 上記プレポリマー 1の合成において、比較(プレポリマー 7)として、 3, 3' —ジメチ ルジフエ-ルー 4, 4' —ジイソシアナートを 0. 1モル(29g)と 3, 3' —ジメチルジフ ェニルー 4, 4' ージァミンを 0. 1モル(24g)秤量し、各々の化合物を真空蒸着重合 装置内に設置して、 PZT基体上に 30 mの厚さとなるように蒸着重合を行い、その 後、前記条件で分極処理を行って圧電素子 7を作製し、上記と同様にして受信の電 圧信号 (mV)を測定した結果、オシロスコープでの強度は 4. 2mVであった。
[0045] 分極処理後の各榭脂を基体から剥離して、 GPCで測定するとプレボリマー 1〜プレ ポリマー 4は、重合度がそれぞれ 100以上であり、プレボリマー 5は 250以上であった
[0046] 以上の結果より、本発明の圧電榭脂膜の形成方法により、充分な受信信号強度が 得られることがゎカゝる。

《圧電素子の作製》
実施例 1に記載の圧電素子 2の作製方法にぉ 、て、プレボリマー 2を用いて PZT膜 上にプレボリマーの塗布と分極処理を行う際に、コロナ放電処理時のコロナ放電密
度を、表 2に記載の条件に変更した以外は同様にして、圧電素子 8〜13を作製した
[0048] 次いで、圧電素子 2及び圧電素子 8〜 13について、実施例 1に記載の方法と同様 にして受信の電圧信号 (mV)を測定し、得られた結果を表 2に示す。

[0050] 表 2に記載の結果より明らかな様に、コロナ放電密度を適宜選択すれば、充分な受 信信号強度が得られることがわ力る。
[0051] 実施例 3
実施例 1に記載の圧電素子 2の作製方法にお 、て、プレボリマー 2を用いてコロナ 処理の代わりに、直流パルス電圧をかけて分極処理を行った。 PZT基体(17mm角) 上に銀電極を付け、その上にプレボリマー 2を塗布し、次いで、厚さが 32 /z mになる ように銀電極を付けた。また、この銀電極を通じて、 4V、ノ ルス幅 100 sec、パルス 間隔 10msecにて分極処理した。処理温度と処理時間として、 80°Cで 21分間、 100 °Cで 17分間、 120°Cで 12分間、 140°Cで 8分間処理して、圧電素子 14〜17を作製 した。得られた各圧電素子について、実施例 1に記載の方法と同様にして、受信の電 圧信号 (mV)を測定した結果、 、ずれも 49mV〜52mVの範囲であった。
[0052] 以上の結果より、直流パルスパルス分極処理においても、充分な受信信号強度が 得られることが分かる。

《プレボリマーの合成》
米国特許第 4, 455, 410号明細書に記載の方法に従って、下記の構造からなるジ ァミンと酸無水物との縮合物であるプレボリマー 7 10を合成した。
実施例 1に記載の圧電素子の作製方法に従って、プレボリマーとして上記合成した プレボリマー 7 10を用いて、電極付の ΡΖΤ膜上に乾燥膜厚として 50 mとなるよう
に塗設して、圧電素子 18〜21を作製した。
[0056] 作製した圧電素子 18〜21について、実施例 1に記載の方法と同様にして、直流パ ルス電圧として、 4Vを印加して受信の電圧信号 (mV)を測定した結果、圧電素子 18 :46mV、圧電素子 19 :47mV、圧電素子 20 :45mV、圧電素子 21 :48mVであった
[0057] 以上の結果より、プレボリマーとしてポリイミドィ匕合物を適用した場合でも、充分な感 度が得られることが分かる。

実施例 4に記載の圧電素子の作製方法において、プレボリマーとしてポリアミド 6、 ポリアミド 12、ポリエチレンテレフタレートをそれぞれ使用し、電極付の PZT膜上に乾 燥膜厚として 50 mとなるように塗設して、圧電素子 22〜24を作製した。
[0059] 作製した圧電素子 22〜24について、実施例 1に記載の方法と同様にして、直流パ ルス電圧として、 4Vを印加して受信の電圧信号 (mV)を測定した結果、圧電素子 22 :46mV、圧電素子 23 :47mV、圧電素子 24 :45mVであった。
[0060] 以上の結果より、プレボリマーとしてポリアミド含有ィ匕合物、ポリエステル含有ィ匕合物 を適用した場合でも、充分な感度が得られることが分力ゝる。
Claims
[1] 尿素結合、エステル結合、アミド結合およびイミド結合力 選ばれる少なくとも 1つの 結合を含む極性基を有する榭脂を合成する原料モノマーを、反応温度条件が 5°C以 上、 60°C以下で、重合度が 4以上、 300以下の榭脂として予め合成した後、該予め 合成した榭脂を基体上に塗布し、 70°C以上、 250°C以下で分極処理を行いながら 該予め合成した榭脂を重合させて、該基体上に圧電性合成樹脂膜を形成することを 特徴とする圧電性合成樹脂膜の形成方法。
[2] 前記原料モノマーの少なくとも 1種力 ジイソシアナ一トイ匕合物、またはジイソシアナ 一トイ匕合物及びジァミンィ匕合物の混合物であることを特徴とする請求の範囲第 1項に 記載の圧電性合成樹脂膜の形成方法。
[3] 前記分極処理が、直流パルス放電処理または高電圧パルスコロナ放電処理である ことを特徴とする請求の範囲第 1項または第 2項に記載の圧電性合成樹脂膜の形成 方法。
[4] 前記基体が、圧電性セラミックであることを特徴とする請求の範囲第 1項乃至第 3項 のいずれか 1項に記載の圧電性合成樹脂膜の形成方法。
