また、この発明は、熱源をヒートパイプに対して重力方向の下部に配置し、ヒートパ イブとこのヒートパイプに連結された放熱フィンを筐体の外側に設置し、放熱フィンを 冷却ファンの排気口に設けたので、内部温度上昇を抑制し、高速気流で直接外部 へ排熱放出が可能となり、筐体内部への高温空気のこもりの影響を低減できるという 効果がある。
また、ヒートパイプを筐体の外部に設けられた車両側の液冷管に熱的に接触して放 熱するようにしたので、筐体内の通風量を低下し、塵芥の進入による機器の信頼性 低下の問題を減少し、併せて、騒音レベルも低下することができるという効果がある。 図面の簡単な説明

[0010] 以下、この発明をより詳細に説明するために、この発明を実施するための最良の形 態について、添付の図面に従って説明する。
実施の形態 1.
図 1は、この発明の実施の形態 1による車載機器の放熱構造を示す斜視図、図 2は その側面図である。 図 1および図 2において、金属ダイキャスト例えばアルミダイキャストからなる筐体の リアパネル (以下、筐体リアパネルという) 1にあらかじめ溝を形成し、熱輸送促進手段 としてヒートパイプ 2を埋め込む。この場合に、パワーアンプ等の大型熱源 3即ちヒート ノイブ 2の蒸発部が、その放熱部即ちヒートパイプ 2の凝縮部に対して、重力方向の 下部にあるように配置する。また、筐体リアパネル 1の所定の部分には、冷却ファン 4 が設けられている。
[0011] 本実施の形態の場合、実質的にボトムヒート構造で、上下にヒートパイプ 2を設置し ているため、図 2に示すように、ヒートパイプ 2の作動液 (水など) 5は、熱源 3近くに溜 まる。この状態で作動液 5が凍結した場合、作動液 5の体積膨張でヒートパイプ 2に亀 裂が発生しないように、筐体リアパネル 1でヒートパイプ 2を覆う構造としている。なお、 この場合、重力で作動液 5は、ヒートパイプ 2の下側に溜まるので、下側のみ覆えばよ い。
[0012] このようにして、本実施の形態では、筐体リアパネル 1のアルミダイキャストにあらか じめ溝を形成し、そこにヒートパイプ 2を埋め込むことで、ヒートパイプ 2と、その放熱先 である筐体リアパネル 1のアルミダイキャストとの熱接触効果が増すとともに、作動液 5 の凍結時の体積膨張 (サイクル疲労)によるヒートパイプ 2の管壁の亀裂を防止できる なお、ヒートパイプ 2の溝への埋め込み領域は、重力方向の下部に当たる作動液 5 の溜まり部分のみでも効果的である力 更に全体を完全に埋め込めば、より耐圧信 頼性や熱接触性能が増して効果が増す。また、全体を完全に埋め込んだ場合、姿勢 変化により作動液 5が別部位に移動場合でも対応が可能となる。
[0013] 実施の形態 2.
図 3は、この発明の実施の形態 2による車載機器の放熱構造を示し、本実施の形態 では、小型フィン付ヒートシンクとヒートパイプを一体ィ匕した場合であって、図 3 (a)は、 その全体の斜視図、図 3 (b)は、そのフィン付ヒートシンクの裏側イメージを示す斜視 図であり、図を見てわかるように、小型フィンは筐体リアパネル 1の内側に設置する。 なお、図 3において、図 1と対応する部分には同一符号を付し、その詳細説明を省略 する。 図 3において、筐体内の空間スペースに余裕のある場合、筐体リアパネル 1と小型 フィン付ヒートシンク 6とヒートパイプ 2を一体モジュール化する。なお、フィンは筐体リ ァパネル 1と一体成形しても、別部品をあとから設置しても同様の効果を実現できる。
[0014] このようにして、本実施の形態では、筐体リアパネル 1と小型フィン付ヒートシンク 6と ヒートパイプ 2を一体モジュールィ匕する、つまり、冷却部材と筐体強度部材を兼ね合 わせて一体化'統合モジュール化することで、金属材料最適化 (薄肉化) '低コストィ匕 が可能となる。

図 4は、この発明の実施の形態 3による車載機器の放熱構造を示し、本実施の形態 では、大型フィン付ヒートシンクとヒートパイプを一体ィ匕した場合であって、図 4 (a)は、 その全体の斜視図、図 4 (b)は、そのフィン付ヒートシンクの裏側イメージを示す斜視 図であり、図を見てわかるように、大型フィンは筐体リアパネル 1の内側に設置する。 なお、図 4において、図 1と対応する部分には同一符号を付し、その詳細説明を省略 する。
図 4において、筐体内の空間スペースに余裕のある場合、筐体リアパネル 1と大型 フィン付ヒートシンク 7とヒートパイプ 2を一体モジュール化する。なお、この場合も、フ インは筐体リアパネル 1と一体成形しても、別部品をあとから設置しても同様の効果を 実現できる。
[0016] このようにして、本実施の形態では、筐体リアパネル 1と大型フィン付ヒートシンク 7と ヒートパイプ 2を一体モジュールィ匕する、つまり、冷却部材と筐体強度部材を兼ね合 わせて一体化'統合モジュール化することで、金属材料最適化 (薄肉化) '低コストィ匕 が可能となる。

図 5は、この発明の実施の形態 4による車載機器の放熱構造を示す斜視図である。 なお、図 5において、図 1と対応する部分には同一符号を付し、その詳細説明を省略 する。
図 5において、パワーアンプ等の大型熱源 3からの熱伝導を行なうヒートパイプ 2を 筐体リアパネル 1の外側に設置し、更に、冷却ファン 4 (図 1)の排気口の直後に放熱 フィン 8を設けて、直接排熱する。
[0018] このようにして、本実施の形態では、ヒートパイプ 2を筐体リアパネル 1の外側に設置 し、更に、冷却ファン 4の排気口の直後に放熱フィン 8を設けることで、内部温度上昇 を抑制でき、高速気流で直接外部へ排熱放出が可能になり、筐体内部への高温空 気のこもりの影響を低減できる。

図 6は、この発明の実施の形態 5による車載機器の放熱構造を示す斜視図である。 なお、図 6において、図 1と対応する部分には同一符号を付し、その詳細説明を省略 する。
図 6において、パワーアンプ等の大型熱源 3からの熱伝導を行なうヒートパイプ 2を 筐体リアパネル 1の外側に設置し、更に、冷却ファン(図 1)の排気口の直後に放熱フ イン 8を設けて直接排熱するとともに、筐体リアパネル 1の外側に放熱フィン 9を設ける
[0020] このようにして、本実施の形態では、ヒートパイプ 2を筐体リアパネル 1の外側に設置 し、更に、冷却ファン 4の排気口の直後に放熱フィン 8を設け、また、筐体リアパネル 1 の外側に放熱フィン 9を設けることで、筐体内部への高温空気のこもりの影響を低減 できるとともに、筐体外の対流、赤外放射 (輻射)による放熱を促進することができる。

図 7は、この発明の実施の形態 6による車載機器の放熱構造を示す斜視図である。 なお、図 7において、図 1と対応する部分には同一符号を付し、その詳細説明を省略 する。
図 7において、筐体の側面シャーシに吸気口(サイドスリット) 10を設け、筐体内部 の発熱で高温化して 、な 、冷た 、外気を筐体リアパネル 1の内壁に沿って矢印 aの 方向に冷却ファン 4(図 1参照)の方に向かって流れさせる。この場合、熱交換効率は 流体と固体の温度差に比例するため、排熱効果が促進する。
[0022] このようにして、本実施の形態では、筐体の側面シャーシに吸気口(サイドスリット) 1 0を設け、この吸気口 10から冷たい外気を取り込むことで、冷たい空気がダイレクトに 放熱板として機能する筐体リアパネル 1の内壁上を通過するために、熱伝達量が、固 体と流体の温度差に比例して増加し、熱交換性能が向上する。
[0023] 実施の形態 7.
図 8は、この発明の実施の形態 7による車載機器の放熱構造を示す斜視図である。 図 8にお 、て、電子機器用の筐体 11に対してエンジン ·ラジェータ冷却液等の車 内液冷パイプ (車内の液冷管) 12が設けられ、この筐体 11の前面に伝熱接触材 (シリ コンラバー等) 13が設けられる。また、筐体 11内に例えばヒートパイプや L字型金属 部材 (ヒートシンク)等の熱伝導部材 14とメカデバイス 15が設けられると共に、基板 1 6が設けられ、この基板 16の熱伝導部材 14上に発熱素子 17が設けられる。
ここでは、筐体 11内部の発熱を熱伝導性の高い部材、即ち熱伝導部材 14で筐体 11外部へ輸送,表出し、筐体 11外部(車両側)の液冷管即ち液冷パイプ 12など冷 却効果のある設備へ熱的に接触させて放熱するいわゆる間接液冷構造とする。
[0024] このようにして、本実施の形態では、筐体 11内部の熱源を熱伝導部材 14で熱輸送 し、電子機器用筐体 11表面に熱集中'表出させ、車輛側の液冷パイプ 12を介して 集中排熱する、つまり大型発熱を内部にこもらせずに直接に排熱することで、筐体 1 1内の通風量を低下でき、塵芥の進入による機器の信頼性低下の問題を減少し、併 せて、騒音レベルも低下することができる。
[0025] 実施の形態 8.
図 9は、この発明の実施の形態 8による車載機器の放熱構造を示す斜視図である。 なお、図 9において、図 8と対応する部分には同一符号を付し、その詳細説明を省略 する。
本実施の形態では、車内コンソール部等の所定の位置に車載機器を装着'設置す れば、その際に液冷パイプと機器放熱面の良好な密着 (熱接触)がとれるような構造 とする。
また、上記実施の形態 7における排熱システムを効果的に実現する上で、機器放 熱面と車内の液冷パイプの良好な密着 (熱接触圧)がとれるような接触圧を維持する 設置構造が効果的である。具体的には、電子機器の所定の設置位置 (車内コンソ一 ルなど)に電子機器のガイドレール、またはスロットを設けて、最終的にネジゃ丁ばね 機構で締め付けて固定することで、車内の液冷パイプと冷却対象機器が密着する形 態が望ましい。
[0026] 図 9において、電子機器用筐体 11に対してエンジン 'ラジェータ冷却液等の車内 液冷パイプ (車内の液冷管) 12が設けられ、筐体 11の前面に伝熱接触材 (シリコンラ バー等) 13が設けられる。また、筐体 11内に例えばヒートパイプや L字型金属部材( ヒートシンク)等の熱伝導部材 14とメカデバイス 15が設けられると共に、基板 16が設 けられ、この基板 16の熱伝導部材 14上に発熱素子 17が設けられる。なお、図 9にお いて、矢印 bはスロット挿入の方向を示しており、また、矢印 cはコンソール 'スロット揷 入の方向を示しており、ここでは、ヒートパイプ即ち熱伝導部材 14と液冷管即ち車内 液冷パイプ 12を熱的に密着する接触圧維持手段としての接触圧維持構造をなし、 必要に応じてネジゃパネ機構を用 、て締結 ·密着を行なう。
[0027] このようにして、本実施の形態では、熱伝導部材 14と車内液冷パイプ 12の密着度 を増加させることにより、強力に間接液冷されるので、従来の筐体用の換気空冷ファ ンが不要となって密閉化が可能となり、システムの静音化 '高信頼性が実現される。ま た、ガイドレールやスロットを設けることで、冷却ポイント(車輛側液冷管)に対して、熱 源 (熱伝導部材 14)の位置を正確に合わせて密着させることができる。また、今後、 益々高機能化 ·小型化が要求される車載電子機器の冷却にはこうした構造が不可欠 となる。なお、車両側の液冷管 2は、熱負荷量に応じて、空冷ダクト、外部ファン等の 他の冷却設備でもよい。
[0028] 実施の形態 9.
図 10は、この発明の実施の形態 9による車載機器の放熱構造を示す側面図である 本実施の形態では、上記実施の形態 8における車内の液冷パイプと冷却対象機器 力 S密着する形態の実現方法として、電子機器と液冷管の位置関係 (クリアランス)を接 触圧が生じる寸法範囲とし、機器をネジ圧 (または、パネ圧)などで最終固定する構 造とするちのである。
また、円形の液冷管と矩形の電子機器の場合には、相互接触する面積が小さいた め、その中間に形状差異を吸収する熱伝達用の金属ブロック(コールドプレート)を介 在させればよい。 [0029] 図 10において、矩形の電子機器 18は、フロント面 18aとリア面 18bを有する力 こ の電子機器 18のリア面 18b側に円形の液冷管即ち車内の液冷パイプ(円管) 19が 設けられ、そして、リア面 18bと液冷パイプ 19の間に例えばアルミや銅等の熱伝達用 金属部材として熱伝達用コールドブロック 20を設けて、その形状差異を吸収し、熱伝 達を促進するようにする。このとき、熱伝達用コールドブロック 20がリア面 18bと接触 する部分には、伝熱接触圧維持部 (必要部) 21が設けられており、これは必要に応じ て熱伝導ラバー、例えばシリコンラバー等の伝熱シートを介在するようにしてもよい。 このように、シリコンラバー等の伝熱シートをコールドブロック 20と電子機器 18のリア 面 18bの間に介在させて締結すれば、その弾性変形 (つぶれ)による反力が接触圧 を増加するため効果的である。
[0030] このようにして、本実施の形態では、金属ブロック等で出来た接触用コールドブロッ ク、即ち熱伝達用コールドブロック 20は、電子機器の放熱面 (矩形)と液冷パイプ(円 管)の間の形状差異を吸収して伝熱を中間促進し、より効果的に液冷パイプへの排 熱を仲介することができる。また、筐体外壁を通じて良好な熱コンタクトが維持され、 強力に間接液冷されるので、機器筐体内に従来設置されて 、た換気空冷ファンが不 要となって密閉化が可能となり、システムの静音化 ·高信頼性が実現できる利点があ る。今後、ますますの高機能化'小型化要求力も空冷化が困難となる車載電子機器 の冷却には、車として全体最適な高性能冷却システムが不可欠となる。なお、車両側 の液冷管は、熱負荷量に応じて、空冷ダクト、外部ファン等の他の冷却設備でもよい 産業上の利用可能性
[0031] 以上のように、この発明に係る車載機器の放熱構造は、筐体内の冷却性能が高く てコンパクト実装が可能で、また、塵芥の進入による電子機器の信頼性の低下を防 止し、しかも騒音レベルも低下することに適している。

Claims

請求の範囲
[1] 筐体内に配置された熱源からの熱をヒートパイプを介して筐体外に放出する車両機 器の放熱構造において、
上記熱源が上記ヒートパイプに対して重力方向の下部に配置され、上記ヒートパイ プが上記筐体内に埋め込まれていることを特徴とする車載機器の放熱構造。
[2] 上記ヒートパイプは、上記筐体に予め形成された溝に埋め込まれ、その埋め込み領 域は、上記ヒートパイプの少なくとも重力方向の下部にあたる液留り部分を含むことを 特徴とする請求項 1記載の車載機器の放熱構造。
[3] 上記筐体内にフィン付きヒートシンクを設け、該ヒートシンクと上記筐体およびヒートパ イブを一体モジュール化したことを特徴とする請求項 1記載の車載機器の放熱構造。
[4] 上記筐体の側面シャーシに吸気口を設け、上記筐体内部の発熱で高温ィ匕してな 、 冷た 、外気を上記筐体内壁に沿って流すようにしたことを特徴とする請求項 1記載の 車載機器の放熱構造。
[5] 筐体内に配置された熱源からの熱をヒートパイプを介して筐体外に放出する車両機 器の放熱構造において、
上記熱源が上記ヒートパイプに対して重力方向の下部に配置され、上記ヒートパイ プと該ヒートパイプに連結された放熱フィンを上記筐体の外側に設置し、上記放熱フ インを上記冷却ファンの排気口に設けたことを特徴とする車載機器の放熱構造。
[6] 上記筐体の外側に、上記放熱フィンと隣接して別な放熱フィンを設置したことを特徴 とする請求項 5記載の車載機器の放熱構造。
[7] 上記筐体の側面シャーシに吸気口を設け、上記筐体内部の発熱で高温ィ匕して!/、な
Vヽ冷た 、外気を上記上記筐体内壁に沿って流すようにしたことを特徴とする請求項 5 記載の車載機器の放熱構造。
[8] 筐体内に配置された熱源からの熱をヒートパイプを介して筐体外に放出する車両機 器の放熱構造において、
上記ヒートパイプを上記筐体の外部に設けられた車両側の液冷管に熱的に接触さ せて放熱するようにしたことを特徴とする車載機器の放熱構造。
[9] 上記ヒートパイプと上記液冷管を熱的に密着する接触圧維持手段を設けたことを特 徴とする請求項 8記載の車載機器の放熱構造。
上記ヒートパイプの取り付けられた車載機器と上記液冷管の間にその形状の差異を 吸収する熱伝達用金属部材を設けたことを特徴とする請求項 8記載の車載機器の放 熱構造。
